Good app

I have been using this app to motivate myself to branch out and see more cities etc when I have the chance. Being able to mark specific regions and cities is very useful, and when a city isn’t on the map the developers are quick to add it once it’s been requested. I have occasionally had an issue where the app will glitch and mark me as currently being in a country that I’m not in. Unsure if that’s an issue with the app or my phone’s GPS etc though. Also, there’s a bit of a visual issue on the “share” maps with places marked as disputed territories— they don’t show up and it makes it seem like you haven’t been there. It’s really noticeable when you’ve been to all the surrounding areas. I understand there might be some sensitive political issues, but perhaps a toggle for “show disputed territories” would be good?

Best travel tracking app

I’m obsessed with Skratch. I specifically downloaded it because not only you can mark the countries you’ve been to (which is typically what these apps do), but you can check states, regions, and cities! All the specifics you could imagine. And as a frequent traveler and lover, this is something one appreciates because having visited France (when you only went to Paris) is not the same thing, hahaha :) PLUS, I couldn’t find two cities that I’ve been on the map, I wrote an email, and they added them! I love when apps are in continuous improvement, and they show it! Best customer service ever :) plus, Ryan wrote a nice email notifying me that they added these cities for me!!

Smaller Countries and Social Aspect

I’ve throughly enjoyed my use of the app so far however I believe there is some error with whether smaller countries are counted as countries or territories. When I share the link to my map, countries such as Vatican City, Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao are marked as territories instead of countries. Additionally I think it would be neat if there was a way to follow other people and have collaborative travel “want” lists between two or more people. Maybe there could even be a way to make some pictures public for others to see as well. I love how you can share the links with other people and I think it would be even cooler to be able to follow and track other people’s travel adventures through the app. Overall, this app is one of the best I’ve seen so far and I look forward to using it more in the future! Great app, better customer service

I downloaded this particular map app because you could do individual states which is really great. I was rather perturbed when the new update seemed to take that away (unless you paid), but the customer service was impeccable and they had me back with my individual states in no time, free of charge! Adding regions to all countries is pretty cool and something I had never really thought much about, so will definitely be looking into that soon as well. Keep it up!

Has potential to be the best travel app around!

I just downloaded this app and think it looks amazing! I hope as the app continues to develop that more articles arise that allow you to learn not just about countries on the explore page but specific cities as well. It’s a tall order but as content continues to get added that allows you to explore more, it’s easier to justify the cost of the paid additions that allow you to mark regions and cities! Really enjoying this so far. Also I’d suggest that we still be able to hit the explore button for every country even if we didn’t mark it as want to visit. Great app!

Love this app!

This app has a really clean and colorful design and everything about the interface is so aesthetically pleasing and intuitive. I love being able to see the statistics of how many countries I’ve been to on each continent and the breakdown of the countries I’ve visited and their flags. Adding the “memories” of the photos and videos is a really fun feature as well. Now I feel motivated to keep adding countries to my future travel wish list!!

States!!!

Hi! I think that it is really well designed... but I’m kinda mad that you guys just put the states or regions in the U.S. only. I am from Venezuela, and I had the pleasure to meet a lot of the states of my country, but I haven’t visited the eastern side of it, so for me, checking this country right away before knowing all of its beautiful landscapes seems kinda wrong (even though is my actual country, and the same happens with other countries. That would be my only concern, but without including that, it is a great app, keep on going guys.

Great app, incredible customer service

My phone had updated and it removed my US states map feature, and I was really upset at first, for I had really liked the app prior. However, I left my review and customer service emailed me really promptly. They helped me out a lot and restored that feature for free, and were very kind and speedy to appease to my concern. My love for this app was restored and it’s better than ever now.

Great App but Cities won’t show

I’ve been a huge fan of this app and have had all the Power Ups for over a year now, but the new update is making it so that my cities won’t properly load, so a bug fix for that would be really helpful, otherwise download this app, it’s a great one!

Great for travelers near and far

Amazing app! Nice to be able to color in and truly “map” my experience and travels. Very detailed and and if missing any cities, simply send an email and a prompt and polite reply from Skratch follows shortly with wanted cities being added. And to add, most of the apps features are free! But do pay for the great add-ons and support these great creators.

Politics aside ...Maps are off

I live in Jerusalem - the west side of the city which has always been the capital of Israel since is independence in 1948, in contrast to the eastern side of the city which was occupied by Jordan from 1948-‘67. Your app identifies all of Jerusalem as Palestine which is just incorrect. Perhaps you want to stay apolitical, if that is the case just label Jerusalem as Jerusalem without connecting it to any country. If not, you should know you are making a political statement that will allie Nate many potential users and misinform those who don’t know.

Awesome app!

I love using this app to track places I have been to and places I would like to visit! It is constantly being updated for improvements and the IT support is super quick to respond and add places if you reach out. Highly recommended.

AMAZING app for travelers!!

This is a MUST HAVE app if you’re a frequent traveler or digital nomad! You can easily see what countries are open for travel as well as track and view where you’ve been and lived. Well done!! Highly recommend

Great app!! Needs a few edits/additions to be perfect!

I love this!! Just a few edits: - would love to be able to track percentage of US states done. - would love to be able to track and mark national parks (as well as percentages) - lots of cities missing, but just to name a few: Stowe, Vermont; Breckinridge, Colorado; Bayeux, France; many others.

They could do a ton better

It defaults it to cities when you have to pay for the cities… they also make it very difficult to have a smooth easy user flow. I’m not sure what they were thinking. I can tell the developers did a great job but the people running the app don’t know what they’re doing.

Best Travel App

I’m a huge traveler and have tried apps like Been and others but this one is my favorite. The regions & cities are broken down great to track your travels. Highly recommend

Missing Cities.

There are too many cities missing, yet those cities appear on the Map itself. I don’t understand why we can’t just select cities straight from the map anyway. Would be much faster than searching for them in many instances as well.

Territorial Misunderstanding

Although the app is up for a good cause, the occupied regions of Georgia, Abkhazia and Samachablo (aka South Ossetia) are not independent countries. Those territories are occupied by Russia and made self-independent and is only acknowledged by 8 countries. We would be glad if the app could fix this problem and correct the map on Europe.

Really fun!

The app gives a nice and interactive way of storing good memories from good places you've been! Especially in current times it's nice to see all the places you've been and relive the good memories.

Great country tracker

This app works great and is visually stunning for tracking visited countries. I do wish they’d add an add-on for tracking visits to national parks to compliment the cities and regions feature. Adding World Heritage Sites would also be great. I’d love to do all my travel tracking right within Skratch!

Awesome app!

I recently downloaded Skratch and started adding the countries I’ve visited and lived in. It’s really great! Nice and simple which is exactly what I was looking for. User friendly too! My favorite thing is precisely that it’s simple and not full of functions. Straight to the point. Looking forward to trying the memories function with pictures. I am a pilot and ofc travel a lot, I really like the reminder function telling you’ve visited a new country so you can add it. Good job to the developers!

Perfect for travelers!

This app is really helpful in organizing all the places you have been and want to go! I’ve been using it to plan trips for a few months now and love it. Definitely perfect for people who love to travel :)

Overall a good app

I like how you can select the places you have been and it shades that place in. However I wish there was the option to select specific provinces like you do the states. Therefor, you can further customize your map.

Great and fun app

Super intuitive and user-friendly. Such a great idea to have a portable skratch map of the world, especially if you like to travel. If I had to change something I would just add more features and perhaps make it more social, but other than that it’s great! Good job!

False map

Hello. I downloaded that app as it looked so amazing as far as I do love traveling and often do. It turned out that Georgian regions, which are occupied by Russia - Abkhazia and “South Ossetia” are marked as countries. Please open any non-Russian source and be sure that you fabricate the world map. Please respect to the international order. These regions are not recognized under the international law, as they are inherent part of Georgia that has been proved by the many UN resolutions. As you have an intent, your app be used over the world, please respect rules which are vital for world order. If the map is crucial for the app, I cannot use or even assess app which is based on the false map. I hope the issue will be fixed

Is this for Non travelers??

I just downloaded the app and paid for all access … honestly just a waste of money. They have VERY limited cities you can pin. You can see them on the map but if it’s not on the apps “list of cities” there is no way to pin. Shouldn’t there be a way to add a city ?? Or if it’s on the actual map… it should be available to pin.

No states unless you pay $6.99

Downloaded because others said it supported states. Apparently a new upgrade to the app makes it so you now have to pay for these. It’s not clear when you try to add them either it just keeps going back to another screen and ask you for power ups.

Mostly easy to use but no customer support

I like the design. Most cities big and small are there (but missing 25 of 400 I’ve visited). Reached out two weeks ago to add a bunch of cities and no reply. Where you at?

Not horrible

It’s okay and tracking where you’ve been. But 7 bucks to mark states is steep. Also, there are some inaccuracies on the map. Israel isn’t mapped correctly, and Palestine is marked as a country, which it’s not.

Basic user registration doesn’t work

App freezes and won’t let me finish the wizard. It said user name already used but won’t let me edit it. Link in verification email yields error 503 and says email used not registered. What gives ?

An app that asks you to give up your email to use the app, is a useless app. That’s my personal opinion, it’s an app to scratch off countries you visited. So why the email ? And why an email verification method? Just so i get my email rained with spam emails and marketing from other companies and the list goes on. That’s my review.

I’d give it 0 stars if I could.

Downloaded this to keep track of where I’ve been and where I’m going before I’m shipped to Alaska for COVID relief. Yeah, can’t add ANY individual states unless you pony up $$$!?!? Forget it! There’s lots of other fee apps out there (Been, States, etc.) that’ll let you do that for FREE and without having to “sign up” with email or phone number. Screw this.

Good app

I would love to be able to really scratch the places I have visited and not the entire country, that way you can still add the cities that you want to visit! A little more detail would be great! Thank you

Only big cities? Seriously?

Saint Augustine, Fl is on the map but not selectable as a place. Seriously? The oldest city in the US is not in the list anywhere? What’s worse. Suggest a city. Crashes the app.

Requires giving up your mobile number

I was disappointed that after installing the app I found I had to first create an account and disclose my mobile number. I am flooded with spam callers and email, not saying these guys would sell my info, but I prefer to limit giving out my number.

Horrible

When I first made an account, it worked but when I exited put of the app, it signed me out. Then, when I tried to log in, it told me there was no account. I will never use this app again. I would rate it a 0 star if I could.

App keeps crashing

Every time I open this app it crashes without even loading for a few seconds. It used to work but I guess they no longer care to fix bugs

Something I’ve been looking for in Apps!
