In the “about the airport” section, it would be really helpful if the phone numbers listed were hyperlinked so that you can simply tap the number and it will dial the number. Not having this function on a phone app is a bit pointless. Even zoomed in, the text and icons on the map are obnoxiously small. It’s like the icons still stay minuscule size. It would be beneficial if map icons and text could actually increase in size when zoomed in to help those of us with less than stellar eyesight. In the map search, can you have your starting point as your current position? Looking around trying to figure out which location option I’m closest to was a huge pain, especially being unfamiliar with the new airport.
After all the money spent on the airport remodel, I was rather disappointed in some glaring issues with the app. It complains that it can’t see my location with an alert that is partially off screen. It doesn’t prompt me to turn it on. In fact, I can’t see the app in my location privacy settings and there is no way to turn it on. I search for my gate. It provides correct information but why can’t I tap it to take me there? I look on the map, the arrow button does nothing. I see A concourse but not where the gate number is. I do a direction search and have to enter my current location. Now it shows me briefly and direction line but it moves off screen. I try to drag the map to see more detail and it moves the icons representing me and the location but not the map?! That doesn’t help at all. There are probably a lot of good things about the app but these obvious glaring issues made it hard to use it for what I wanted. I’ve only been using it a few minutes. There are probably many more issues I’ll find.
There is no tram. Distances are long and exhausting. This new airport is worse than DFW, ATL, or ORD. If you arrive on an international flight you have a very long walk to get bags, then a very, very, VERY long walk to any of the gates, especially B concourse. There are a few escalator style people movers but they are far apart. No trams. Avoid this airport if at all possible. I feel sorry for people who live here and have lost their former nice airport.
It would be nice to filter by food type and see the results on the map. Food type: breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, full bar, etc It would be helpful if it showed estimated waiting time to get through security. Ability to show you estimated time from past security to your gate, based an a typical walking time.
I got the app to track departures and gate changes. The app pull down menu for flight destinations does not work correctly and my flight is not shown / available. The app does not seem to have been built by someone with much experience.
I downloaded the app for “news.” What I meant was news pertinent to current travel conditions, delays, logistics & other issues due to weather. What I found was old news & bragging about progress (which should include a tram, btw). Trying to plan for travel to & from the airport tomorrow morning to pick up a friend coming in to visit. Helpful general updates? None.
Love Communications & SLC airport should be embarrassed by this app. Try to find a restaurant and only one shows up. Try to find a bar and only one shows up. Try to search for arrivals and you can only see airports starting with “A” because you can’t scroll down. Not ready for a beta test much less a year after release iOS 15.5
Website says download the app to check security wait times. Searching “Wait times” on app brings up an article about how wait times are available on the website. Wait time should be the most accessible thing on front page of app & website. Nobody is using this app for other reasons, very dissatisfied
I can’t find the security times to save my life, outside of that feature I am not sure why I would need this. The airline apps give you all the same info plus your boarding information. It does run smooth which is reason for the 2 stars.
Tried to look at flight schedules and the pull down options do NOT scroll, only get what first pops up. Really the developer AND the SLC Tech Manager should try the app before release. Obviously not a good travel tool
Terrible maps, no way to route to your own gate or anything, what’s the point of this app? And how is it supposed to be helpful🤣🤣🤣 upgrade the airport and downgrade everything else I guess
