I've had SoundCloud for years now but I realized I never left a review yet. SoundCloud truly was and is a magical place for music, all the biggest modern rap/hip hop artists got their start from SoundCloud (lil pump, lil skies, lil peep, 21 savage, Suicideboy$, the list goes on!) not only is the environment of the app "creation", but it's also a well made app. I used multiple music softwares/apps so I can get every song I need but I truly wish every app would take notes from SoundCloud. (PLEASE NEVER CHANGE THIS ABOUT THE APP!!) but it allows you to put your phone on sleep mode while music still plays, you have to pay a monthly premium fee to other apps to be able to do that! I've been loyal to SoundCloud even if l use other apps (you should always seek out new music on both SoundCloud and elsewhere!) you really can't go wrong trying it, you'll end up finding tons of music that's great yet you had no idea about beforehand. Nothing but praise on my end! Stay true to yourselves SoundCloud and never change up because society tells you you should! SoundCloud invented their own collective consciousness and has gave hundreds their start into making music!

I’ve been unable to use the parts of the app that require internet access

This has been an issue for the past month and a half now I’ve got ScGO, so my likes and any playlists I download will show up, but just at random any UI that refreshes with internet will just be stuck in a buffering animation and I can’t search up any music, nor will my likes save or any songs to any playlists I have; this bug occurs essentially everytime I open the app, but maybe 3/10 of the time it will open the app and all the features will work temporarily and then almost immediately cut out again unless I test my luck at restarting the app. I’ve already made like 2 different complaints about this in the feedback section on the Sc website I was routed to, but after like 2 different updates the bug is still persisting, I’ve already tried to uninstall and reinstall the app but the bug is still here and it’s really annoying when I can’t open up any other playlists aside from my likes and the ones I try to download, and I won’t receive any emails back aside from the ones telling me I won’t receive any emails back, so I’m not sure if any feedback I write about is even being viewed, nor can I even mark the feedback as a bug on the site (because I’m not given the option to do so) so I have less of a reason to be confident that anyone seen the complaints to begin with🤷🏽‍♂️

Locked out of Account

Edit: As of this most recent update, I’ve been logged out of my account and am unable to log back in due to “something unexpected” happening. Even on strong wifi connection, I’m unable to bypass the error. Even SoundCloud’s website is unresponsive and I can’t even hit the sign in button or proceed through the sign in page. Not sure what the issue is, but I’m unable to use the app and service in general at all in its current state, which is a real shame, because all my playlists are on there. I hope this gets fixed soon, because I love this app. Assuming the above is a non issue for other users however, my normal review proceeds below: Overall this app is great for some free listening with limited ads. Some things I’d love to see implemented at some point: Edit Playlist names: as one adds to their playlist, sometimes the creator may want to edit its name to be more accurate to the music inside in some way. Being able to edit playlist names in the app would be great. Reorder Playlists: Some people may want to organize their playlists alphabetically or thematically as opposed to the order by creation SoundCloud defaults to in the app. Being able to modify your playlists in this way would be a nice change. These QoL changes are indeed small, but would go a long way in making the app feel a bit more user friendly.

Playlist Organization

SoundCloud is great but there are a lot of glitches with playlists that need to be fixed. Trying to rearrange your songs in your own playlists is a hassle, it takes multiple tries to get the song to permanently move because it often just reverts back to where it was right after you moved it. I always have to close then reopen the open to check and make sure my songs moved to where I wanted them to. Also the icons you can upload for your playlist cover never seem to update unless you actually open up and go into the playlist. This doesn’t seem to be much of an issue on the desktop but on mobile my set display cover is never what I picked, it’s usually automatically always the same picture as the first song in that playlist. This gets really irritating because if I want people to check out my playlists, the first thing they see is the display image and I would rather them see the one I chose than of the picture from someone’s track! Lastly, please incorporate the option to move around your playlists. I have playlists from months ago that are at the way end of my profile and would rather have some of those at the forefront of my profile when you visit it. Really hope you consider ideas to fix these problems. Otherwise great app and I’ll always be a user.

It’s okay, but...

So I don’t really write reviews, but I have an issue or two (maybe more) with the app that really bugs me. One: the pause/play button on the control center/lock screen. I tap the pause button, but the music keeps playing anyways. I have to soft reset my phone each time, and it’s exhausting. Two: sometimes my music starts to crackle. It’s rare, but it’s so annoying when it does happen. Three: when I add a song to a playlist, it adds it all the way down to the bottom instead to the top, and when you have a long playlist, hitting edit at the top, scrolling all the way to the bottom, and waiting for the song to be dragged all the way up is also exhausting. Four: sometimes the time stops, so the song will be going, but it’ll say something like 0:10 when it’s just about over. And to fix it, I have to drag the dot to a different time, hoping it’ll land on something close, but when you don’t know what second it’s on, it’ll mess up the song, and ruin the listening experience. Other than that, it’s easy to use. But please fix these four problems.

Very good but some issues

So I’ve been using this app for the past 3 years and it has been amazing, but somethings I would wish could change as well as some issues I’ve ran into. The first thing is the UI, if I type in a song and I spell it wrong I wish it could put up something close to that and not say “ No Results”. Second thing is that I wish when you went into your saved playlist that you would start at the bottom or the newest song and not the top, but those I can live with so I own an IPhone X, I’m not showing off or anything but this thing has amazing speakers and for some reason when I play a song it crackles and pops which is soooo annoying, I’m an audio geek and I can not listen to a song when it cracks and pops it’s just infuriating. And the last thing is something that I’ve wanted for so long is to be able to post songs from your phone because not all of us own computers, and or laptops but the option to be able to post songs from your phone would be awesome. I hope you bring these ideas in consideration and hopefully are able to fix that bug but anyways I love this app and this is the only way to listen to songs that are posted by non singers or artists.

I did not give permission to renew this APP

I got a free trial. When that free trial was up, or even before it was up I removed it!! So why a month or 2 later when I buy an Apple pay card are you thieves going to charge my Apple Pay card? I don’t even have this app downloaded to my phone. I already reported it & I want my money back. This app was junk anyway. No offense but it even gives directions to go by to renew it. I never did. App is not even on my phone & they took it upon themselves to take $5-6 off of my Apple pay card. Now I have to wait 48 hours to see if they will refund my moneys? I’m poor so every dollar counts. I notice I’d 1$ is missing. I reported it & if I do not get a refund I will be contacting an attorney. Yes! Over 5.99! Why? Because I got that card to use TJ buy more I cloud, & not to pay for an app I am not even using nor is is downloaded to my phone anymore. Wanting to all, do not download this app with the free trial. Because even if you cancel it & remove from your phone as soon as you get money on any card you are using, they will take money out!!!! I want a refund & I want it ASAP! I can’t even enjoy my phone because I can’t even put cash more I cloud because of this!! Can’t even do the update on my phone I need to do because I there’s no space or GB’s to do it! Could do it if I could pay for more iCloud

Very great but some difficulties

Hello I’ve been a SoundCloud user since 2012 but didn’t really get into it until 2013. I would like to say SoundCloud is fantastic. However, I have problems listening to music without it cutting off every 30 seconds. Then once I press play, the same thing keeps happening. Also, as someone that makes music, I hate that there’s a pay wall behind me seeing simple things as who’s listening all over the world. Why should I by SoundCloud Go just to see things like that? The least I’m buying it for is playing music offline, that’s about it. Aside from that, I feel like SoundCloud Go is just not even worth it. I liked using SoundCloud until y’all introduced SoundCloud Go. Which basically limited us from listening to big artist on there giving us 30 seconds of a song just so we can buy that pay wall to listen to a full song we can listen to on other music apps. Not to mention the spotlight on our profiles. Are you seriously going to make us pay for that? That’s like paying $5 just to pin a tweet on Twitter. All I’m saying is I love SoundCloud, but I can’t stand it when they’re trying to beat around the bush just to make us pay for something.

I have been a Soundcloud Go user for several years now. I have no problem paying for this subscription because I love this app, however there are issues which I feel if addressed, could make this app much better. For years I have dealt with tracks out of my likes being deleted or removed. I understand many of these tracks are leaked and therefore are not supposed to be on the app, however this is not the case for all songs that are removed. There is nothing worse than wanting to listen to a song and not being able to find it. Out of my 1,500 + likes I cannot remember the names of all songs I like. I believe if these tracks are deleted it would be very helpful that instead of them simply being taken down, they should still exist in your likes, even if you can’t listen to them. This way, I’m not really losing my music. I’d still be able to find the songs elsewhere, it’s just so frustrating having music disappear. Please address this issue. Also fix your search algorithms!! Neither of these issues seem like they would be difficult to address. Please fix for the sake of users!! Makes me rethink paying my subscription.

Sad

I’ve had this app for around 3 years and I had around 300 sounds that I had in my liked section because all of them wouldn’t fit in a playlist and I was okay with it. During those 3 years I loved it because I like underground rappers starting from SoundCloud and rising to the top and I would always search for new artist just so I wouldn’t have the same music as everybody else and I’d always show my friends and they’d always ask who it is and for me that’s a compliment cause putting someone on a new artist always makes me feel like that boy. But anyways a couple days ago when I was going to show my friend a couple new songs I found I went to the like section and all of my music that I had liked were gone. All those 3 years of searching for new music that little to no one has heard before done the drain and y’all don’t know how sad I felt cause now I’m never going to get to listen to those songs again because I dug really deep to find them and I’m not going to waste my time searching for it again. Soundcloud staff members, if you happen to see this please pleaseeee let me know if there’s anyway you guys can get my music back that’s all I want😭

No shade on this app….

Let me be very clear….SoundCloud is the only music platform I use and that is quite unlikely to change. I am certain that there is a solution to the problem that I am facing, and will likely update this review with the five stars that I believe SoundCloud deserves regardless of how things work out for me. I was locked out of my phone for a day as a result of pressing the guided access and then I was unable to input anything on the touch screen other than perhaps forcing an emergency call. I was able to access my SoundCloud music if it connected to my Bluetooth earbuds or my truck stereo but that was it and only using the limited control of the Bluetooth device. I took it to the store and they were able to turn it on and back on. Everything was back to normal except my SoundCloud app. I spent half a day trying to get my account back and then I tried to simply pay for what appeared to be a new subscription through the SoundCloud website and app. The App Store was happy to take my money for a new SoundCloud subscription but it still doesn’t allow me to access my real Go+ account or the new Go+ account I paid for. It’s the weekend so I can’t expect a response to my ticket until Monday at the earliest but I’m a bit upset that in spite of trying to pay for the same thing twice, I’m stuck with commercials and none of the music I saved or playlists. It’s honestly the main thing I even use my phone for now so it is not cool to me

Unfortunately, just not worth it anymore.

A couple years ago I would’ve given 10/5 stars if I could. But nowadays, there’s so many advertisements that it makes listening not even worth it. I completely understand the reason for advertisements & for a long time, I could put up with them. However, I just used SoundCloud for the first time in maybe a year. THERE IS 2 ADS BETWEEN EACH TRACK. Back when I used to use SoundCloud for all my music, I’d have to put up with an occasional ad or two every 4-6 songs. But now it’s simply unbearable. I’m not exaggerating when I say I just logged onto SoundCloud & the first 4 tracks I played, I got 2 ads in between each. It was frustrating after the 2. Annoying after the 3rd. Infuriating after the 4th & I didn’t stick around for the 5th. I’ve been using audiomack as of late. I’d recommend that to anyone who doesn’t have music specifically on SoundCloud. I know that’s the reason I used SoundCloud so much. A lot of the underground artists would start on SoundCloud and their music would then find its way to other platforms. But I just can’t do the ads anymore. If you suggest paying for SoundCloud, why would I? The search engine all the way to the user experience is just terrible. Anyway, just my opinion. Great

I been on SoundCloud for at least 5 and a half years and it’s awesome. There was at times bugs where I request songs to be in a playlist but rarely it crashes while doing so. Another thing is that there is a gimmick where there is songs that have like a “star” symbol or a premium song where you have to pay to listen for monthly cost. But not only you can listen to these premium songs, you can put download playlist for out of service ordeals. I would say the major downfall for this streaming service app is that I have to type the right perfect word for a song title, artist, or even a album in the search bar. If I misspelled a word, it would give me a totally different result of music or even no result at all. Therefore, I have to make sure to make more of a tension to spell the word of the song and such throughly. But other than that, I’ve been using the app at first free but I decided to pay monthly because I’ve been traveling more often now so it makes since of downloading songs. I recommend using this app. I’ve been previously using grooveshark until they shut down in 2015 then I switched over to SoundCloud.

Had since 2013. Much love but It needs work

Been using this app since i was hella young. And what i can say is the best part about the app is the people that make music on it, and the fact that anyone can make music on it. The Ui is often glitchy and we just recently in 2024 became able to open and send dms on mobile. That is just embarrassing. We should have had that feature a decade ago, but they’ve put in the minimum work. Not much has changed since then. The “next up” feature is silly and should be replaced by a full QUEUE for multiple songs. That’s the end of my complaints as a listener. As an artist, it’s even crummier. 148$ paid in full for a year of pro unlimited. The promotion tools the app says i “don’t have access to” are limited. The monetization often doesn’t work with no explanation why. And the extra storage (the reason why i bought it) is not at all proportionate to the price. It also doesn’t even include go+. This app has a beautiful culture and community, but the team behind it has always seemed inactive and lazy, save for very recently they’re fixing the dms and such. I hope it gets better from here and you listen to us

New layout update is atrocious.

The new updated layout for the music feed makes it so you can only view a single track at a time, ruining the experience and ability to view multiple tracks on your feed. The feed has a single track that takes up the entire screen, where you can preview it or play it - when you play it, the screen switches to the play screen and you have to minimize it again to get back to the feed screen; you then have to swipe down to get to the next track on the feed. It’s completely unnecessary and makes it so you can’t view multiple tracks from different artists on your screen - you have to swipe through a single track one at a time. It’s extremely frustrating and really ruins the ability to find new music quickly and efficiently. It’s the equivalent of having to read one tweet at a time on your feed that takes up the whole screen. Or having to view one instagram photo at a time, rather than the ability to scroll and view multiple posts. Almost unusable at this point - if it stays like this I’ll have to cancel my premium. PLEASE bring back the old music feed format! Edit: thank you SoundCloud for responding - I’m glad there’s an option to get the old feed back. Please don’t remove this!

App terrible interface but desktop great! Make them the same!

The app is so terrible compared to the desktop version. The searches never come up the they do on desktop, I never see my page with my spotlight 5 tracks when I open it up, i have to scroll forever just to get to what is normally right there on my desktop.... the app gets ZERO. As an artist and some one and I are talking about music and who I like and what I sound like I’d like to be able to easily show them or find the name of the musician I was listening too earlier that day etc. I have more specific complaints but these are the ones that come to mind. The ‘usability’ and ease of interface is just terrible on the app version. I gave an 8 or something for the recommendation of SoundCloud to people but , it would have been a 10 if the stupid interface on the app wasn’t so clunky. The two interfaces (desk and app) should look and work essentially the same. A girl told me it was impossible for her to figure out how to repost my song on the app version. she gave up in frustration. In some way that reflects on me and I lost a precious repost. Also I’d like to be able to link my two accounts , even if it is just slightly more a month to have both on premium. That last note is not about the app obviously. Thanks for listening.

NO OFF BUTTON!

I like SoundCloud. There should be an off button. I have to sign out to stop the music. Which seems ridiculous. The sign out button is hidden in the library tap- Annoying. At least put the sign out button in main hamburger menu. Swiping the app away turns the music player back on. Then hitting the pause button brings the app back up. As I recall, it was terribly frustrating and I uninstalled the app to make it stop because I didn’t know where the sign out button was nor did I have the time to figure it out. I ended up not using SoundCloud for years and now recently installed it on my iPhone. Still no off button. It is a pain to sign back in. Would be better if it could just be turned off hitting a button placed in the playback control panel. I just took a star off the rating because I pressed the sound off button on my car stereo, turned the car off and exited the vehicle leaving my phone in the car. Guess what- I came back and this stupid app was playing on my phone, battery half worn down and blazing hot. I find it ridiculous that I need to sign out of the app to stop it from playing music.

Mobile App Bugs

I’ve been experiencing two separate issues. The first one happenes when I’m streaming SoundCloud via blue tooth and the mobile app gets stuck in a loop. It plays the song then an ad and then the same song again and the same ad. So far the only way I have figured out to cancel the loop is to restart the app. The second issue I’m experiencing is (and it’s fairly difficult to explain) when ever I create a station from a song I like on the mobile app, it creates a station but down at the bottom of the screen where it shows the playlist for the station, it queues up some where between two and seven copies of the same song. All the copies of the song play at one time, but audio wise, only one plays. This problem does not stop when I close and restart the app, and it seems to happen to any song, even ones that are not in my “Likes”. I really enjoy SoundCloud, and it is my first choice when deciding what platform to listen to music on and it’s always disappointing to discover a bug. That being said, thank you for taking the time to read this.

Please help similar situation.

This is great! I recently have had a similar experience with dodge county wisconsin with the social workers for cps. I feel something needs to be done with them. They would much rather take kids (2 baby sisters) and throw them into foster care rather than come home with what they know and what they love but because we are not family we have been pushed aside even though my family and I have been turned away even though we have taken care of the baby’s from age 3 weeks old now 1 1/2 yrs. I’ve now tried to bring to court and get a judge hope and pray that he will see and let the kids come with us. (Court is in 3 weeks) the cps people have even asked the foster trainer to not call me back deliberately. There very against us and unsure why but it’s not fair for the children. They deserve loving household whom has changed our entire household to fit them and accommodate them. I’m disgusted by dodge county wisconsin child services.

Lots of minor/medium problems

SoundCloud is fine. I like that it’s free. There are some songs, like Elise by The Greeting Committee, that used to be free but now require a premium for you to listen to. I’d prefer if more were free, but beggars can’t be choosers. Anyways, I don’t even know if that decision is up to SoundCloud or the individual creators. There are some more glaring problems, though. For one, when I try to scroll down quickly, the app gets really laggy, shows me one frame a second, and scrolls down incredibly slow. It’s infuriating when I’m trying to go low down in my likes songs. Another issue is finding when a song was posted or looking at its description. Both of these are impossible on the SoundCloud app. It seems that the developers only care about the computer version of SoundCloud, when it is much, much better as a mobile app. I have no clue why you would focus on the computer more. It’s not like I can carry a computer in my pocket while it’s connected to headphones or anything. Also, when someone replies to one of my comments I’d like to be notified. This one is just a small suggestion. I usually like the app, but it needs major, major polishing. Please update it!

Amazing! But just one problem..

SoundCloud is an amazing app to use! I don’t really mind the Ads because I don’t really have any money to upgrade so I just stay with the regular SoundCloud instead of SoundCloud go. I’ve used this app for about 5 years now but since this year, I’ve started to notice a problem whenever I search for any music. Every time I search for music, I start to listen to it without liking it (because sometimes I forget to do that). But every time the song ends, or I try to look for a different version of the song, it always automatically skips to a different type of song that’s not under the title I searched for. This has been a constant issue for a few months so I decided to delete the app and try again, then it started to work like usual. But now, just a few seconds ago, the same problem popped up again. I don’t know if it’s a glitch in the system or just something that was included in the new update. But whatever it is, I’m not so happy with it. Other than that, that’s all I really have to say for the app whatsoever.

Fix the app

The following is complaints about the mobile Soundcloud: Soundcloud is a good music app, not to lie. The ads are horrifyingly long, especially when you get a 30 second ad that you cannot skip. I can last a 15 second ad, but the ads are not skippable. Also another thing is if your new and you try to do the verification thing on mobile, it is possible the email won’t send at all. I’ve seen this on many other phones. Also, editing playlists most rearranging the songs don’t save until you repeatedly do it. Editing the name of the playlist I haven’t found anyway yet since. Another reason, are the visual bugs. Sometimes when loading in a song after an ad or so, the ad information shows up, but the song still plays. You can’t see the song until you close out of the ad and/or song. Also, a suggestion I’d like to make is you can verify your email whenever you want to, not while you’re editing your profile. Not trying to hate the app, it is pretty good, the main problems are the playlists bugs, and ads.

Good app but could be improved

I’ve been using SoundCloud for about 10+ years as of 2023. There are just way too many ads now. I can just open the app and play a song and skip it within a few seconds and I’m already hit with an ad within 10 seconds of opening the app. Not only that but SoundCloud hasn’t changed much since 10 years ago. There are better options but SoundCloud is the most popular only bc it has been around longer. They need to stand out and add a feature that will allow them to personally connect with producers engineers etc. this will create a bond so musicians can get in contact with people much faster and accurately while giving producers easier ways to target artists. If this was a platform that does that then this app would be way more convenient. There are a lot of artists who have no clue how to promote or get in contact with anyone to check them out and a lot of people give up on Their dreams bc of it. This app needs to be more convenient in helping those connections which is the #1 factor on why artists become famous. SoundCloud has the power and popularity to pull this off.

Terrible/non existent support & shady business practices

First of all they have no phone number for the entire company no contact for support, billing, etc. which is a huge red flag. The only way of contacting them is by submitting a ticket which they will take their time getting to if they even decide to respond. And if you try to cancel your subscription the day it is set to renew they will renew your subscription regardless of you choosing to cancel it and they will keep your money for an entire extra month that you cancelled and did not want. They rely on shady business practices like this because they are slimy company that will do whatever they can to steal every bit of money they can because they know their service is absolutely awful for the price and the second someone figures out that they’re being over charged for a sub par service at best and they cancel their subscription then SoundCloud will do whatever they can to keep every single dime they did not earn by keeping your subscription going even after you cancel because they want your money and will do any shady business practice to get it. Stay away and do not give them your credit card info.

Love it but latest update has issues

FIX REQUIRED: Latest update has songs making cracking/popping noise when playing music. Happens whether online streaming or playing offline saved songs. Not HW issue--only seems to happen on this app. Please troubleshoot! Recommendation: A repeat button for mobile (single and playlist). Otherwise, SoundCloud is awesome. This is my #1 music discovery tool. I have discovered so many new genres and artists I had never heard before using this app, and I love that the artists are free to post ANYTHING instead of only their studio-ready work. Sometimes the experimental stuff is what is most interesting. The freedom of musical constraint is what makes SoundCloud really the best streaming service to me without the overhead of video (like another streaming service I also use to discover music), and it also gives me control in what I want to hear. The recommendations have been spot-on (again, introducing me to new music I've fallen in love with), and I hope SoundCloud continues the way it's been and improves with our feedback!

Some of us do not want to upgrade.

Look, this is a great app. You can listen to other people’s music and post your own so others can hear it. Cool concept, one I definitely have taken advantage of these past few days. However, this feature has a catch: you can only post so much for free until the app basically forces you to upgrade to pro, which you have to pay $199 a month for?!? EVEN if you have an account?? That’s ridiculous!! I suggest as a compromise that every time you upload past the limit, you have to watch an ad. It’s not the best compromise, sure, but ads make money. And if you want to make money, I suggest doing that instead. Maybe while the track is getting ready, an ad will play. It may be annoying for some, but it’s better than paying 199$ a month for an app that I just want to use to get my Spyro fan tracks out there, as well as my originals. So, please take that into consideration? I think it’d be a great compromise that doesn’t empty your wallet. Also, for those who do want to upgrade, you can give them that option. Have us either choose the ads option or the pro option. It’s that simple! You make money either way, it’s a win-win!! I hope this review finds a SoundCloud employee who will possibly take my idea into consideration. I’m loving this app so far! It’s been really helpful! Thanks and have a great day! It’s by far the best music and created platform out there yes there are flaws but not many every week you get a personal list of songs recommended for you from your listening history so you can discover more music and Artist you may like unlike other music platforms you can upload to and you can support small artists to help them grow it shows you the other side of music you have been missing out on my taste in music has changed so much for the better because of SoundCloud. You can find it or songs from popular artists today and see how they started you can’t get that anywhere else. It’s so easy to find the music you like and it will help you grown as a person to. I been using it for 1 and a half now and it gets better every day the best thing is it’s free and SoundCloud go is only 5 bucks it’s worth it. So all in all if you want to grown as a listener or start your career use SoundCloud.

Soundcloud Review

I have only been using this app for a few weeks however it has a very widely spread amount of music. Although subscribing to the premium is the only way for downloads and offline listening, most apps don't give you the ability to listen with your screen off unless you have paid for the premium. Which I am thankful for because my phone doesn't have the greatest battery life. So having the screen off helps reduce the drainage. My only complaint is the lack of an ability to slow or speed up the songs. For an example, you like going along with Eminems “Rap God” but you are unable to go as fast as Eminem. So your solution would be to slow the song down a hair. Other than that, which wont effect my 5 star rating, this is the best music app I have, and I am thankful for the amount of abilitys Soundcloud has given me without me needing to do anything other than listen to a ad.

I like it for music, I guess.

I think what truly ruins the experience is the same culprit that could ruin any music app, ads are one of the main reasons I dislike using this app, they’re long, repetitive, and after a while become very annoying. It doesn’t help that the only ads you get are anti-smoking, I get it, smoking is bad, guys. But can we get some different ads, maybe instead of interrupting the music experience, just do pop-ups, at least get some new shorter ads. And don’t give us the option to skip ads if the ad ends before the skip timer, its infuriating. The timer will be 30 seconds and the ad will end just before. Don’t give us the option if we can’t use it. This has become more of a review on anti-smoking ads. I don’t smoke and I find these ads annoying, they’re deliberately unnerving. They don’t make me thinking “stop smoking” they make me think “ew why, I don’t even smoke why I’m I forced to endure this”. Besides this I think there’s a genre for everyone here, and you can find some nice music here that you can’t hear on the radio, though I’m mostly here for the soundclown memes.

Frustrating Experience

I've been using SoundCloud for years, and I must say that my recent experience has been nothing short of disappointing. It seems like the platform's quality has taken a nosedive. First and foremost, the constant stream of ads is beyond annoying. I understand the need for advertising revenue, but the frequency and intrusiveness of ads have become unbearable. It disrupts the entire listening experience. Moreover, the mobile app has become increasingly glitchy. It often crashes or freezes, and navigating through playlists has become a frustrating task. It's clear that the app needs serious optimization and bug fixes. Lastly, there's a lack of transparency when it comes to subscription pricing. The pricing tiers and what they offer are confusing, making it difficult to choose the right plan. I used to love SoundCloud for its unique content, but these issues have really soured my experience. I hope the SoundCloud team takes these concerns seriously and works on improving the platform because the fact that you still make money off this terrible app is wild. “We’ve improved performance and fixed bugs” 🧢

Advertisement Interuptuons

I don’t have a problem with ads, the app has to make money somehow but it would be nice to be able to do more while ads are playing; such as: being able to look at other songs/ pick the next song while ads are playing. Sometimes it will auto play to a song I didn’t want to listen to in the first place so when I skip it after the ad is done I’m now one song closer to the next ad... Another thing I’ve noticed is if your phone is in sleep mode during an ad it will continue playing with no video but if your browsing while an ad comes on you are forced to play the video with it and exiting the app or enabling sleep mode will pause the ad forcing you to play the video to continue. This feature can be very frustrating if your trying to play music at work or are multi tasking and also eats up unnecessary battery life. All that said I love SoundCloud and all it’s other features just wanted to give some honest feedback for future improvements/updates :)

not horrible, but not perfect

there are many minor issue about the app, like how you cant re arrange your liked songs and have to add every song to a playlist to control their positions (which i dont understand why thats even a thing). But the main 2 issues i have with this is the amount of times the app refreshes after its opened, to the point where it becomes the norm, and the amount of ads it give. The app constantly gives me ads in between songs and ruin the vibe, i could be listening to some sentimental music at high volume then get cut off by some guy talking about a brand new car i never knew even existed, exploading my ears by how loud the ads are, and not only that, sometimes it gives me 2 ads back to back, both 30 whole seconds, making me waste an entire minute listening to ads when i could of been done with the second song in the queue. many problems occur in the app, but other than that, the music is crispy, they give a variaty of different music every week, and it can play in the background. Its a fairly good app but its not perfect.

Needs some additions but best way to find new music

Everyone knows all the good things of SoundCloud like growing new artists so fast and helping people find new music. I’m gonna give a few suggestions for it though. Things that I want in the app; the computer version is great, but you know we all want music on the go and most people use their phones. As a producer with my own page I would like the messages to be on the phone and comments and more interaction with my fans on my phone. Everyone knows there is bugs, but I’m sure the SoundCloud team is fixing them now. I’d also suggest maybe better pages for artists. I find it may be hard for new users to get used to it. It’s a little big maybe scale it down to fix more on screen. Anyways, great app! Suggest it if you love music :) Update: right after writing this I discovered SoundCloud Pulse which I think is a great app. Though I’d still like to see you being able to respond to DMS, have social media links on artist pages, and have descriptions on artists pages.

Good app, just some issues

TL/DR: Had it for years, having trouble, overall perfect app for music lovers and makers. I have been using SoundCloud ever since my middle school years back in roughly 2015. I used it on the computers, my laptop, my phones and everything else I had at the time. As of recently though, I have been having troubles. The main issue is that I keep getting kicked off the app entirely. I’m not sure what’s going on, but it’s been going on like this the entire day. I can’t even make through ONE song before it cuts off and the app closes. I typically turn off my phone and listen to the music as I plays, but now I can’t even do that. The phone screen must remain on and you can’t even leave the app without it closing itself out. It’s irritating and I don’t know what to do. I completely turned off my phone, closed the app manually, and had it updated. So I’m at a loss at what else to do. But overall, very wonderful app to have for all your music needs.

Music is the only closure I have to all of the hardships in life and I feel like it is the race between good and evil and I feel like it maintains happiness and it's also intended to worship the Lord I do believe that music is a power I believe it is a influence a believe it is a tool I believe that it is made to harmonize and synchronize all of the fine instruments that God has given us to create the sounds of music please keep this app available for all the time I will go crazy and not be able to express my absolute sadness if I can't have my music this at this amazing you guys do a wonderful job absolutely outstanding with all these various tons and tons and tons of amazing songs that are very like in genre you do not differ for example reggae to pop it stays within the music genre that you choose and I really appreciate you guys is an effort to make the most amazing music ever experience in my life

Disappointed but holds a place in my heart

I love SoundCloud coz I’ve been using it literally since elementary school, but it’s gone down hill. First, when you shuffle your playlist, it’s like the app has pre made shuffle lists from your playlist so it plays the same songs in the same order. I noticed this way too much so I tested this by writing down the sounds that would play, then a few days later I’d shuffle my list and it matched. That’s really dumb and annoying and I don’t understand why that’s a feature, if my playlist being shuffled like that is simply by chance then that’s crazy, but if it’s the app then why? Second, ads: before I didn’t mind the ads, but now when using the mobile app if an ad plays while you’re on the app, you’re forced to watch/skip the ad because it won’t play off the app in the background. That was not a thing a few years ago, why SoundCloud ): y’all are the OG and the prime spot for finding new artists and got exclusively unique songs from artists so I’ll always love the app but these reasons have caused me to switch to Apple Music <\3

Obnoxious, but usable.

Ok, never thought I would write one of these, but I need to set this straight, just in case I’m not crazy. I love soundcloud, I really do. I’ve been using it for ages and it’s one of the only music apps that lets you stream underground music instead of mainstream music, of which I listen to more often. However, it was definitely better before. Not sure when, but years ago I used SoundCloud ad free without payment. It was awesome, it really was, and ads came up maybe one a day. However, one day, more and more ads came up, however I could skip them after like five seconds, so it was fine. But recently, around a couple months, I’ve been getting 30 second non skippable ads that come up after every like two songs. This is absolutely outrageous. I don’t mind an ad or two, but this many is just awe full. If you are going to throw ads at me like this, use banners. Really. And if you still can’t do THAT, at least make the ads easily skippable, and definitely not 30 seconds. No one is going to see this I’m guessing but I had to vent.

Almost perfect

I love soundcloud, and use it every day. I fall asleep to a playlist I've made, and use it during the day. However, there are a few things that need to be improved. First off, there is no sleep timer. This would be really helpful for me and others. Secondly, I listen to a lot of older music, for example, The Beatles. However, there are very few Beatles songs on soundcloud. I think this should be changed. It's not just The Beatles either. There are other artists as well, but that's what came off the top of my head. Last but not least, there are some songs that you can only listen to live versions of. For example, "Lucky" by Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat. I find the cheering before and after these songs that are or used to be pretty popular annoying and I'm probably not the only one. Other than these things and loading times every once in a while (which I understand), this app is amazing and I love it so much. Please improve these issues, thank you so much! 😊🤞🏻

Super buggy

I’ve been using soundcloud since 8th grade, I’m almost 23 now, never used any other service loved it. But this app always glitches me out of the app and I have to continuously load it back up and resume the music, honestly a vibe kill. And putting playlists together is a nightmare I’ll be able to put 5 songs into the playlist then glitches me out gotta reload it again and I go back to where I’m at and 8/10 it’ll glitch out right as I try again. After reloading it again I can maybe put 3-5 more songs on before it happens again. It’s honestly so annoying y’all fixed it one time but it’s back and been goin on for months. Please fix this glitch it honestly doesn’t make me want to use this platform anymore. If it wasn’t for the quantity of music I’d been off here. Please fix this asap and make sure it doesn’t go under the radar again pleaseeeeeeee.

Aloha, Okay, I’m officially intrigued. You are a whole company… I’ve been I college for 5 years for computer science/ software engineering. I had souncloud since I was in 8th grade, the only music app I’d use. 😂 A week ago I duplicated your “app” and made it exactly the same as yours when not published; though don’t get fooled by that sentence; I know my rights, fk add on to what I have just said. I have 4 years of study before college with experience. Why am I a Karen about this little thing? I did it ONLY BECAUSE, the bugs In your system AFTER THE RECENT UPDATE; Such as, searching for a song and my screen crashes. Trying to lick a song my screen freezes and I cannot click anything, trying to scroll through my playlist and it freezes; Not sufficient. SOUNDCLOUD was doing amazing. Comparing yourself to other platforms of music will not make you more successful. I think this is great feedback, for you guys to know, & also fix the bugs if Instagram can do it in a day you can too, it doesn’t take “much” money all the time it takes your brains in the company. Lovin it, but a few issues tho

I’ve been using SoundCloud for quite while, and, I’ve got to say, this is the very best music application I’ve ever used. However, I spotted some issues with its latest update. I know that you’ve gotten rid of the tab for the music thingy (idk what to call it) and it’s now much easier to access now that it’s on the bottom, but when I tried moving around all of my music, instead it just brang that up and so it made it really annoying and difficult to edit. One other thing I found was that it never automatically replayed my songs, so I have to do it manually every time. It usually works, but most of the time, but this actually takes place whenever it’s playing the last song in any of my playlists. Other than these two things that hopefully you guys are able to fix, I’d say that SoundCloud is a really great app to use for any kind of music-related activity. -SquirtleXD

GO+ problem

So I was loving the app until I woke up this afternoon and came to see more than half my songs were suddenly GO+ when before they were free. I’m seriously freaking out because all of my favorite songs are now previews and I have no idea what to do. I tried to see if anyone else was having problems in the comment sections and it seems like no one else is having this same problem. I seriously do not want to switch over to another music app just because SoundCloud decided to make half the songs GO+. And I’m not just talking about 1 artist suddenly switching from free to GO+ I’m saying multiple artists songs I have saved are GO+ now so it’s not an singular artist I’m talking about. Unless these artist just happened to talk to each other and decided “Hey why don’t we make our songs GO+ for no reason at all!”. Now that’s me being sarcastic, but I’m seriously freaking out because I can’t live through quarantine without my music. Please SoundCloud do something about this and don’t just scroll by ignoring the people’s problems.

Good but uh.....

This app is really great if you like unpopular songs and sped/slowed songs of you favorite artists, it's not hard to find songs most of the time or find amazing alternatives! But.... There are still a lot of problems with this app, usually after two songs you get an add and SoundCloud used to remember the songs you last listens to so if you had no wifi you could still listen to your last five maybe ten or so songs you listened to which was a lifesaver on toadtrips but now I need constant wifi just to keep a single song on loop... Honestly I don't know why it's changed and unless you have golden wifi everywhere you go this app could get annoying if you don't have stable wifi. But there are ways to avoid the ads so I guess it's not too much of a problem. Other then that SoundCloud has helped me find a lot of songs wether from actual artists themselves or fandom songs! A recommendation for sure!1!1!1 🗣🗣💯

Pls change this one thing

I always used SoundCloud and it’s been what I use to listen to music since 8th grade and now I’m a year out of school. It’s always been a really cool platform and i don’t plan on stop using it. But there’s one thing that bothers me. VIDEO ADS. If an ad comes on while your on the app maybe u were jus on there to pick a different song and a video ad comes on, if u get out of the app the ad stops and u can’t play it to get to your music the only way u can listen to it and get to your song is by staying in the app as the whole ad plays. PLEASEE change this. It gets really annoying when I’m doin something while listening to music and then when I want to change a song get an ad then I gotta sit there and actually watch the ad to get to my song. I don’t mind just listening to it in the background of what I’m doin but actually having to sit Thru it is a bruh moment. Please make these ads able to play in the background of whatever your doing

Soundcloud is okay... but could use work in certain areas!

soundcloud is great i’ve always loved it but there’s so many songs that i can’t listen to because i don’t pay money every month??? there’s other apps i could download for music where i can listen to any song i want to, all of my friends and everyone i’ve talked to about it say that they don’t use soundcloud for this reason. my loyalty for soundcloud lies deep but i’m getting really annoyed every time i fall in love with a song and can’t put it on my playlist. i know for a fact that if this changed, so many more people would use soundcloud. or at least drop the monthly price down, i bet a large percentage of people that use soundcloud are 14-25 years old... people at this age generally don’t make as much money as the average person yet- due to being in high school and only having a part time job, or in college with a part time job trying to pay off student loans. not only would it make people happy, but it might be good for soundcloud’s benefits too!!!

Overall okay

Most of the original songs are for premium members only, meaning you have to pay to get most original songs. So you have to deal with listening to the covers of songs. Also I’ve been using this app for about 3 years, never had any major issues with it, but now when I open the app, it tells me to create an account, or login to an account, which I never remember logging out. But maybe I got hacked or something. But this is just ridiculous. I even went to the help page, but couldn’t find anything. So I guess I’m gonna have to create an entirely new account,(if it will let me, since it says im blocked now from even creating an account for “too many failed attempts”), which means I’ll have to find all my music and playlists that I had on my old account, and individually put them all into their own playlist again which is super annoying. I’ve never seen this issue before but I’m hoping someone can help me, because I’m now permanently banned from my own account, and that’s the reason why I’m giving it 2 stars.

I use this app for almost all music but...

These advertisements are really starting to get annoying. You used to be able to scroll around SoundCloud and look for other tracks while an ad is playing but now the app forces you to look at the still frame ad while it plays and sometimes you can’t even skip it. Something that also gets on my nerves is when I get two ads in a row or after every other song. Stop forcing us to watch the ads, it feels really anti-consumer and like you don’t care about your customer. Also, its not just the ads themselves that are annoying but the lack of variety. I swear I’ve gotten the same CAPITAL ONE BANKING AD 5 TIMES IN A ROW and it really makes me never ever ever to so business with them. Same with Home Depot, in order to retain customer happiness there should be less ads and if that isn’t possible; at least make it so they aren’t as intrusive and repetitive. I love the app though and have been using it for years.

This app was great but needs some fixing.

Ok, sure it has great stuff music-wise. But it has one too many ads. I get that y’all need money and that’s the whole subscription and ads thing but the ads are way too long and they’re like what, every two songs? The app is great, don’t get me wrong. But there’s also this- legitimately yall put too many good songs on the subscription. Leave some for people without the subscription. It’s like the Minecraft bedrock-Java thing. But otherwise it’s a great app. I’m a hardcore anime weeb, so having the L Lawliet cover for songs as well as other anime stuff on the covers is refreshing. And the thing with the beat it does while the song is playing is mesmerizing to watch (at least for me). And for the most part, most of the songs work with bad wifi so I’m grateful. But yeah. Maybe shorten up the ads a bit or at least not make them every two songs and next review I’ll give it 5 stars. :) ♡

One Big Dislike

SoundCloud I hope your reading this. The one thing that is keeping me from uploading more tracks and being able to see all the people who has liked or listened to my tracks like I used to is SoundCloud Go. I know you guys are probably losing money and your money thirsty but it doesn’t mean you have to have all these aspiring music producers pay monthly just to upload more tracks or view all the likes or listeners, just have people pay monthly to stream exclusive music and nothing else. I’m sure a lot of people would disagree with me on this but for a somewhat broke producer who’s paying monthly for other subscriptions, I just don’t have enough money to pay for SoundCloud Go, just to upload more tracks and other stuff I mentioned earlier. I hope you guys understand and wish to fix this problem that me and probably a few others are going through. Now, all you guys have done is rearrange some icons and make the app look somewhat cool, but you guys haven’t added anything new yet to the app which means I’m still very very disappointed. After every update this platform has made, it keeps getting worse.
