One of the best apps I’ve ever had!!
I can’t say enough about this app! I am not an artistic person at all more of a left brain type but this app is a great outlet for me to express myself through a proxy. It fascinates me how it almost seems to know what kind of art would interest me even though there is no option for me to request these specifics. For example I’m a firm believer that the best art is offensive and should elicit strong emotional responses even if it is anger fear or embarrassment because that means it’s making some kind of strong connection to you and I found that this AI (of course I DONT know if it understands these things that could also be why it does them but I’m choosing to believe that it IS that smart) seems to integrate this concept into a lot of the pictures for me which I absolutely love. One thing I found terrifying no matter how I look at it makes me question the desire to use AI so frivolously and is because of the result that was produced from the words “peace at last” it gave a post apocalyptic scene of destruction that had become overgrown by nature due to the extinction of humans. Is this AI also prophetic or what?!?! Developers: Please make sure you program the AI never to want to destroy us or take over the world please! Remember even Hitler was an artist! I’m joking but also NOT joking. Thank you for this wonderful app and thank you to the merciful AI please try not to enslave all of humanity. Amen. 😋

Best AI Art App
This is the one app I use on a regular basis and made an account for because it is the most stable and intuitive app in the entire Appstore. it was also to my knowledge, the first one. There are so many junk AI Art apps now it’s ridiculous and time wasting, but this app is worth every second of your time. I have enjoyed the updates, so many additions have been made some of which I had asked for in the survey. I look forward to StarryAI continuing to get better and enjoy following other artists on the app. My next request is for StarryAI to add short movie clips or animated photos to the option for the starting image, if possible that would be awesome. I would also like a lifetime option to purchase the app. I don’t do subscriptions, but I still want to use the options that are unlocked when you pay and I also want to support the developers for making such an amazing app. I consider this the OG of AI Art apps. Thanks for your hard work guys, love your app and can’t wait to keep using it. Your app is the reason I got started making AI Art.

Have to pay
It’s fun until you run out of credits and can’t generate any new ai art unless you pay. Then it says you can get free credits if you wait til after 6am. Well 6am (24 hours) has passed and no free credits. I’m sorry but I am not paying $12/month or subscribing and having issues cancelling the subscription for ai art that really isn’t that good. I thought this app would be useful in helping me get ideas for my own art. I am an artist and needed ideas for horror art. Well, the art produced wasn’t really that good. At one point it even showed me a blurry image as a “final result”, what am I gonna do with a blurred image of nothing? I don’t know how people are getting the really beautiful ai images from this. And why does it have to cost? I can understand charging maybe a one time fee of $5 for the entire app unlimited but why $12/month ($144/year)?? There’s only so much you can do with this app and only so many things you can think of to have the ai generate. Also if I type in a phrase and someone else types in a phrase, will we both have the same results? Who owns the copyright then? This claims you own the copyright to your creations but how can every piece be unique??? Cool app if it was free or cheaper. I mean at least explain why it needs to be a monthly subscription and not a one time low payment. Does the ai machine need to be continuously maintained? Does the ai have to be fed more information on a daily bases? What is it??

Sexual Content
There are a lot of good things about this app, however, the developer's lack of response to reported sexual content is not one of them. I understand that, like many ai apps/sites, they rely on users to help them moderate content, and I have no problem with that. Other apps I've used immediately remove a reported image from public view until it's been reviewed. When I report content on Starryai, there is a message saying it will be reviewed asap, but the image remains. In the last few months, I've reported a number of images (usually of near-naked women) but they always remain. There is no action on the part of the developers. The deal killer tonight amounts to child porn. The image was reported, and I was hoping that this one would disappear. But of course not. The prompt blatantly calls for teenagers in skimpy clothing and underwear. If nothing else, there should have been safeguards in place regarding the wording of the prompt itself, as other ai apps do. I can't support this app and can only recommend people to avoid it. I realize none will be perfect, but there are equally good and better alternatives that do make the effort to preserve human dignity by setting and enforcing community decency standards. I hope that either developers will respond to this by taking direct action in their app and website, or that they will be shut down. This is inexcusable.

Starryai is setting the standard in AI apps
I have to say this app has taken one down turn after another after another. I had written this glowing review about it before and am so sorry to feel I had to erase it and put this in its place ! First I began getting these horrible black blocks over my creations and then it was only blurred out completely so I had no clue what was happening. Now I try doing the normal stuff as I have always done, like scrolling upwards for to see the prompt on others and my own creations and it just doesn’t work anymore. I did find that I can, if I’m very careful and start way at the bottom below the creation to scroll up I might get lucky. That is only IF the bottom is in view! Otherwise forget it. I have to wonder if the developers are intentionally ruining the app, trying to make it worse, harder to use, or what? Every day brings another disappointment, another problem that never existed before! And have I mentioned that it crashes after every usage? Running on an up to date iPad here and there is no reason for this problem. Wasn’t last week even! What gives? I am totally perplexed. And this all started so freaking good too! What a shame. And what a waste! It’s getting to be that the dang thing is impossible to operate altogether! Come on folks, why.

One of the best programs for this sort of thing
Alright so I poked around a couple programs for these ai-generated art things, and I think this is probably the best, the only other good program that does this is nightcafe, and that only lets you do one decent-quality picture a day, starryai let you do 2 a day when I got it, and 5 a day now. The options for style are pretty versatile, and it recognizes non-words. I’ve tried inputting dnd monster and Pokémon names and it seems to recognize them enough to get the basic features, shapes, and colors right (I input “aboleth” and it creates a tentacled sea monster, I input “skitty” and it gave me a pink-and-cream batch of blobs, with a few cat ears scattered around). I’ve even seen it recreate humanoid figures, which I’d assume would be hard to make. Tl;dr really nice program, I think the other people complain and give it 1 star because they don’t realize the credits reset daily, the one big improvement would be adding that to the app description so people realize

New Orion Update - Weird Artifacts
I use this app all of the time, and have spent a decent amount of money buying credits since I really enjoy it. I was a big fan of the Orion AI and thought I had it down pretty good to get what I wanted. The new update has allowed for initial images and seems to have changed the way the Orion AI works when you evolve images? I don’t mind that, and I feel like it’s a good direction for the AI, but I’m starting to get weird artifacts or squiggles in my creations if I evolve the piece more than once or twice. I used to evolve a piece probably 5+ times in average with no issue, which helped me get what I was really looking for, but doing that now is significantly messing with the quality of the piece and feels like I’m wasting credits. Hopefully it’s just an initial issue as bugs get worked out and the AI is further tuned. I’ll have to work with the settings to try to find a new combination that I really like/relearn what I should expect the settings to output, but I may hold off on using Orion for a bit until that gets fixed. Overall, the app is really great! I highly recommend it.

Going Downhill
I like the app, but the customer service is nonexistent. I was an active participant in the discord server, won two contests in three weeks, suggested three improvements that are all going to be part of the next release, created several interesting styles that added to the capabilities of the app (for example, a glass and crystal style, since they do not use the glass and crystal LoRAs). And despite all that, I was kicked off of the discord server for life and without warning because a mod with the personality of a 12 year old child, because he didn’t like something I said. I was having a conversation with two other adults at 3 AM. Of course, he only booted me, the women involved in the conversation were permitted to stay. This little boy is representing a company and using his mod abilities for power tripping. I told them I would stop being a paying customer if they did not let me back on the server, they refused, so I am no longer a paying customer. Also, they have owed me 1247 credits since April 14th and still have not issued them. I can’t say anything bad about the customer service, I can’t say anything about it at all. It does not exist. PS: Today, they told me that I will not get the 1247 credits returned.

Best AI app.
Produces high quality reliably coherent images. Love that you can upscale them. All the other apps are a hot mess compared to this one. It’s got a huge vocabulary. You are absolutely not limited to the artistic style options. It did anything I wanted it to do. I stuck with one basic image description and made over 50 different outstanding images with it while just playing around and figuring out what it was capable of aside from fulfilling random requests. I wish this technology was available to augment photo editing capabilities on my computer. I kind of love it. In the right hands, this is a tool. In the wrong you’ve got a bunch of people thinking they are artists who aren’t necessarily actual artists. Very few face fails. The only thing it couldn’t do reliably for me was fingers. I’m not going to complain because that’s nothing compared to the other ones out there.

Save your money, try another AI generator
Starryai has a good idea but the execution isn’t there yet. The app is a bit limited in terms of options for the generator and there are bugs in the interface. The community gallery and rating system is what sets the app apart but this has the most problems. When scrolling through the gallery the viewer often duplicates certain artwork repeatedly preventing it from scrolling down to see others, at this point it will often crash if you continue to scroll. Often the app ignores when the view settings change. There is no way to view all of the gallery or see random entries so people can only see your art if it happens to get enough likes quickly enough otherwise it drops off the visible lists entirely and can no longer be viewed to receive more likes. Other random bugs include generated images that appear entirely black or hang the app. Credits are very expensive and starryai is stingy with credits even on the paid tiers. Other AI art generators such as Diffusitron give more credits per day free and are easier to control with more advanced features like model selection and honestly much better results.

Very Fun - Really Needs to Work on AI’s Bias
I really like the potential and have had a lot of fun using the app. Like any ai it takes quite a bit of time to get the hang of mastering the best way to create a prompt so I’m forgiving on that aspect, BUT the other tools in the app itself totally rely on trial and error as well to even figure out how to use them. I still haven’t figured out how to successfully retouch an image, and each time I make an attempt it costs a credit. I’m not sure if they do this to force you to spend more credits but I wish there were tutorials. Another issue I wish they’d work on is the AI’s bias towards fair skin and light eyes. Even if I feed the AI an image of a dark skinned person I get a fair skinned person back almost every time. Even specifying which skin color I’m shooting for in the prompt does not help the whitewashing sometimes. Again, if each attempt costs a credit I wish this bias wouldn’t waste my credits. Overall, I’m still willing to learn to use the app better and create more images because I’m having fun.

Such a strange ai art app!
The images are good quality but no matter what prompt I put in lately it’s almost always the same one or two women in it. I’ve never asked for people at all, but that’s what I get. The same two women in different outfits. It also does the same dystopian image a lot with very slight variations - even someone I know got an image very similar to mine and neither of us had requested anything remotely near that. But I have over two hundred credits so I guess I’ll keep using the app anyway. The good thing about the app is it’s completely free - you can pay, but it’s ridiculously expensive for what it offers (and even if you have a paid version it still makes you buy extra credits?!) and it gives you some credits every day that you can save up instead. If there were more variation with the outcomes, more styles to choose from, and unlimited generations, it’d probably be up there with those charging $30-$40/year. But this definitely isn’t on par with those yet and it’s charging so much more, I don’t really understand. I’m assuming people paying for it just don’t know there are other AI Art apps out there. Anyway, it’s a good app just to use as a check against other AI art apps - I’m hoping eventually they will have more variety and styles, and maybe calm down on the pricing a bit after the novelty wears off and it’ll probably be worth paying for. It is weird that an app with such good-quality output has so little to offer otherwise.

Love it!
I never write reviews but I just have to say I am obsessed with this app!! I keep buying the month if pro, canceling because I’m trying to save money and then subscribing again because it’s so much fun and inspiring!! I love that they are working on developing and improving the app to share our creations as well. I don’t use other social media platforms for many reasons but a huge one is the rise of influencers marketing products and ads. I understand apps need to make $$ but I hope this stays just about the art! Great app, super easy and intuitive! I understand the criticism of having to pay for pro to get rid of ads but for me it’s been well worth it and especially worth it for the free upscale. I run a d&d campaign and I’ve been using starryai to make concept art and my players loved it!!

Decent app, a few problems I’m having
This is a really cool app, and I enjoy getting to express ideas in my head through it. However I’ve run into a couple problems. One is that the app seems to be very uncooperative with the words I put in the engine. However, im sure this is just an issue with our current technological advancement. A problem though that I’m sure you can fix, is that I will try to create something, and the app does something totally different and weird. Naturally, I don’t want to keep that, so I try to delete it, but it won’t let me delete any images. It’s kinda frustrating because I don’t want to clutter my homepage with all these pictures I don’t want, but the app won’t let me delete it! What’s up with this? Update: I now tried to create new art, and it went and deleted stuff I’ve already done without me even touching it?!? Why is this happening, I can’t figure it out!

New Changes seems to be taking freedoms away from the user
Since it's come out, the liberty of making images has been slowly filtered out, which makes a touch of sense to protect younger users from exposing themselves to misinterpretations and something potentially traumatizing for them, but realistically this is not an excuse to prevent in all cases. Especially since the artistic freedom is less open and now more difficult than ever to find correct images in prompts, as some words prevent image creation just because they have a context that could be mature, even when they aren't being used in a mature context. Satire is no longer something I can generate, and it's use in concept art or character creation has become so strict that there is no longer any real-world use to the product. It also now blurs and blacks out images entirely for it's own mistakes in reading the prompts and I cannot fathom ever again seeing a real reason to pay for it because of this. I mean, think about it. There is no incentive to pay for free and open software that is so scared of being political incorrect it infringes on any category that could be considered freedom. It should have a switch that allows for people to control mature settings on the account that can be turned off and on to prevent young users who need it but also give a useful experience to those that would be unaffected by the setting being off. I truly lost respect for this tool.

Awesome, stunning, creepy, mind expanding, thought-provoking, surrealistic!
The world of artificial intelligence is advancing so rapidly, I am having trouble keeping up with it! I had read about an image generation program that can create amazing artwork simply by being given a descriptive phrase, but I thought that such software was a long way from general use. Imagine my surprise when I looked on the App Store and found StarryAI! This app can create incredible images as simply as telling it what you want. There are also controls to input your own image if desired and to fine-tune the results! As an artist, I will use this app every day to expand my mind, inspire me, and open up new horizons of thought and exploration. I just wish it had a version specifically for iPad!

One of the better AI art apps I’ve tried, but glitchy and not made for tablets
The results tend to be better than other AI art apps and bots I’ve tried, and you have more options for directing the style of the art generated. They seem to try to improve the app based on feedback from users, but I personally have not found most of the changes an improvement; they either create glitches or make it harder to find things I used to know the location of. Upscaled images look good zoomed out, but if you look closer, there are lots of odd little AI artifacts. The interface is designed for phones, so it’s not great for tablets. That was less of an issue before, when I could use a browser, but now they’ve completely disabled the ability to create images in mobile browsers (even tablets with larger screens than some laptops). The contact support feature sometimes doesn't work.

Experience Orwellian censorship
used to be a pretty helpful little program, but now if you breathe wrong, you’ll trigger censorship. Ah yes, censorship. 1984 is here. Now I get keeping creeps and perverts from generating things that actual photos are already illegal, but some stuff js just way to ridiculous I’m going overboard. For example., I’ll type the musician, prince on a motorcycle, holding a big bottle of shampoo.(rain)(purple rain). Full size coloring book image, black and white contour, detailed certain black outline. Seems harmless, right? Evidently not because that prompt activated safety filters. OK maybe somethings wrong needs to be tweaked. Let’s contact customer support. How can they help? Well actually they can’t help. “ Somethings gone wrong. content could not be loaded.” you’re exactly right story, something has gone wrong… censorship.

Surprisingly addicting as a professional artist!
To start, no one’s told me to review this and I was skeptical….but I’ve had way more fun than I anticipated with this app! It’s not always spot on to what I’m going for but It get closer the more I get used to the prompts and choices I make with different style references, artists to use as a guide and mediums for the application. Anyone with a creative mind and interest in creating anything will have a good time with this app! It’s inspired me to do multiple AI paintings a day, mainly just to see what it’s going to come up with! I’ve been thinking about using it to help me with conceptual phases of paintings as another tool I’m my back pocket to help the creative juices get flowing when I’m hitting a wall. Any artist can relate to that feeling.

The best I’ve found. And yes, I’m a real person.
First, I’m a real person leaving a real review. Believe, don’t believe, up to you. I want to say right away there ARE ways to make lots of amazing quality pics of all kinds for free (tips further down). Alright, so I’ve tried multiple apps like this, and this is the best. I’ve been on for months, and it gets regular updates. It can make VERY realistic, anime style, or in the artistic styles of well-known artists. The main tip I recommend is become familiar with the app. Look at the artwork others are making, including their prompts to learn how to add what you want while subtracting common flaws like distorted anatomy. Just saying “make blah blah” doesn’t utilize the fine-tuning options that set this app so far apart from many others. The second thing is to make sure you watch ads each day. You get 40 free pics that way (2 credits makes 4 pics) so I save up throughout the week. You can earn more by sharing some of your pics within the app or on social media. There is much more I can say, but I recommend you get the app, join the discord, start having fun and see for yourself!

Paying for limited generations/creations
I do like this app for the amount of styles it has. And the quality is pretty good too! But…….. I do not like the fact that, even though you pay, you only get a limited amount. It’s a limited amount per week which goes up the more you pay. I could understand, if I paid for the one week, which is $1.99, because how are they to make money that way? But it’s the same for each price point, which is t good, and I’ll give you my reasoning. If I want to generate a photorealistic female with certain features & lighting, etc. most of the time, you don’t get what you want at first, so you’re tweaking your prompts to get the desired result, and that can take up a lot of generations. I do like this app for the amount of styles they have. And the quality is pretty good too! This is just unfortunate.

Simply The Best
I’ve tried multiple AI programs and this one is my favorite! You get 5 free credits per day and can earn even more (by watching some ads, you get an additional 20 credits). They do have pro-plans that will allow unlimited use, but being a college student it’s a little too expensive for me at this time. Definitely worth trying! Pros - Fast, mostly accurate, allows you to download images with no watermarks Cons - A bit pricey, filters out certain words so using the app to produce images of the natural human body (even in an artistic format), when inputting more than one name (such as celebrity names) it sometimes merges the two individuals into a single person)

App uses sift to monitor and report on users and content created
App used to collect data on users with predictive analytics to determine or guess if a user is violation t&c via content created and tracks user through their devices. And much much more. If you downloaded this app on the App Store under its name it will say if you have been “sifted “. Sift is a trust and safety company that not only Collects data points on users and guesses users intentions and potential future risks associated with the user but can also not only retrieve but send data to the user. All around this ai art generator app is just a mask for an application that spy’s on you and lord knows what they consider fraud in terms on ai art but once your sifted they grade you on a risk scale from 1-100. What they do with this data is another thing. Don’t bother deleting the app it is forever synced on your cloud and backed up regardless of it not being visible on your device- it’s there, just hidden.

I used to really love this app until the other day.
Why do the pictures all go separately now? Give an option to do that. And now the reprocessing of images seems to totally disregard the percent strength from starting image. It’s like it completely ignores the percent. The fact that you removed the % from the after-generation settings in addition to showing the original picture makes me think this was completely planned. Very, very disappointing. I liked to run several filters on an image in succession, sometimes the same filter, with decreasing strength. Other times, I’d run an image through multiple different filters. You killed my style overnight. I might have to find a new app. Sad. UPDATE: I canceled my renewing subscription in April. If you don’t fix the %, this app is useless to me. Nobody responds to me on discord and your support chat is always “back tomorrow”

When it was new and there wasn't much competition it was good.
Now it has become the best! As someone who has used them all, this has the STARRY MAGIC. More creative, less limited. They automatically run the scripts that fix faces for realistic portraiture. They may want to turn off those for the avatar maker. People complaining about inaccuracy are probably pretty ugly. Fix that :) Starry AI not the weirdos who are afraid of bikinis or think Lady Gaga is NSFW. The negative prompt image defacing is minimal. Most fun to use. FAST. OK before you complain that they're expensive, their technology is the newest and you get what you pay for. Just pay for it once and you'll see. The real revolution is gonna be fixing their interface and update the old version of the app for older iPads and iPhones it is estimated that there are twice as many out there. These are people that can't use a new software. Since it's entirely your back end process, All the old players will eventually come to starryAI. Fast before someone else capitalizes on it.

Good, but limited.
The images are quite beautiful, but there are glitches. For instance, as an experiment, I asked for a velociraptor in a top hat and monocle; I got dinosaurs with cowboy hats and no monocles. A request for an old man with a monocle produced an old man with glasses. A request for a monocle by itself produced some moody pictures of various women. Elsewhere, prompts with the terms “prehistoric”, “Paleolithic” and “cave man” produced very modern-looking characters in modern clothes; the algorithm regularly ignores simple requests. After a render of characters in a futuristic city, I ask for characters in a park, but get a cityscape again. Other than that, it’s a fun toy. Would be nice if there was some way to reject failed generations so as not to waste credits; it’s one thing to get something you weren’t expecting, quite another to have your request ignored completely.

Art Great Features Need Work
The art capabilities are fantastic and very fun to play with. Doesn’t seem to always give daily credits. Difficult to organize art into favorites. Seems like there is several hours to sometimes days of lag between creating art and having it display in recents when trying to add to a project folder. Same for deleting ones that don’t turn out. Building prompts is really finicky. Can’t save negatives. Often doesn’t save or show up when you save them. Often the save option doesn’t even appear unless you use specific workarounds like first opening an existing prompt, then pasting what you want instead of typing it, then deleting old prompt items to save. Fails often.

Double standard
The app on the whole is actually really well designed from UX perspective. It does crash frequently but not enough to keep from utilizing. The challenge or really annoying component of the app is they have gamified publishing. The more likes you get the more free designs or renditions you can create. The pictures that typically get the most likes are scantily clad females even though their privacy policy is adamant about how this unacceptable. They will ban certain pictures and allow others based on the tagging. You can create a mediocre request and turn it something racy and slip under the radar. Policy drives behavior, so the creations especially in the ‘new’ category are often designers pushing the limit to see what they can get away because it ultimately saves them money to publish something provocative that bots don’t pick up.

Good but…
This app is great. I love the pictures it generates for me but… I really dislike the enhancement feature. I can put a POC in the app for enhancement and it’s constantly turning them into a white character. The Ai also seems to have something against different body types. It only wants to generate thin women with outrageous body parts, if you know what I mean, and overly muscular men. Not everyone is an anime character!!! I can even describe the bodies in so many different ways and it will still generate the same thing. Their are so many body types in this world and I feel that the Ai should learn to recognize them. Especially if you’re describing that shape to a T. It can be very frustrating. Other than that, I do enjoy using this app. It really helps with character creation.

Decent overall, but has a few flaws
StarryAi is pretty awesome. It’s system is super easy to navigate and use, and it produces satisfactory results as well. But there are a couple things I don’t like. One, you can search for kinds of creations, like “realistic cat” or “cartoon characters”. But you can’t search for people’s account names to find and follow them, and you can’t search the actual names of creations. Two, I know this one is a little silly.. but i just find it unnecessary. You can’t use dark mode unless you get starryai pro. And as someone who much prefers dark mode over light mode 90% of the time.. i find it mildly irritating that if we want such a simple thing, we have to pay.

Retouch stopped working.
Great app, one of the best AI art generators that exists & been using since May. Had been so excited about the retouch feature since it’s launch which was working great until about two days ago. Which since it’s very unreliable and wasting a lot of time, creating new images instead of retouching in process work. Very frustrating. I’ve tried everything, nothing seems to get it working again. It just randomly works or doesn’t. Mostly not working. But was working flawlessly for about two weeks. Hope this can be fixed soon. Thanks everybody. 😁

Yes, you have to pay
5/1/24 I stopped by to change my review from 3 stars to 2 because Starry AI only allows 3rd party logins. I don't like it and I don't want to compromise my security. Another reason I need to lower my rating is the false claim this app is free to use. I think that means I can generate a handful of low-quality, deliberately slowed images. I can theoretically earn points by spamming my own accounts. That seems kind of stupid. ………. A few things should get a a review immediately removed: 1. Complaining you have to pay (in-app purchases means you do but see my comments about figuring out what the listed prices mean). 2. Fury that your account is still charged even though you deleted the app. (The store charges you, not the app.) 3. Nonsense blathering. If you don’t want Apple to ask you to leave a review change your settings so it won’t. Everyone should explore their iOS settings. I’m tired of trying to interpret the cost of in-app purchases before I buy so (or download free) so by default I’ll remove 1 star when those are clear as mud or don’t match what I find in the app. The results are quite pedestrian so I’m not sure if this is worth the mystery cost.

Simple yet amazing.
Anyone can use this app to generate an image that resembles whatever they imagining in their ‘minds eye’. It takes a little practice to perfect the skill of accurately describing the scene, and I usually find myself spending most of my time rewording the description clearly because it makes all the difference in the world. Guess and test is part of the refinement process that eventually seems to yield a rendering that is as close as anything I would expect from a human artist (is that OI - Organic intelligence? ) No matter what; it’s fascinating seeing what the app conjures up next.

Meh… not that great
Many times I have prompts that are clear and specific indicating I want specific things in the picture. Vast majority of the time specified items are not in the image. Way too many cases of distorted facial features. I made several requests to generate an image of fictional music groups/bands. In almost all cases the faces are hilariously distorted and freaky. In one case I asked for “cover artwork for a new album by the rock band KISS”. One of the images had Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in it. Some had 3 members some had 5 (one had 6… there are only 4 members). All of the faces very distorted. Also issues with extra body parts. Asked once for a picture of a “green alien with big black oval eyes in an alien landscape”. It generated what looked like a dude wearing a Halloween mask standing in front of a mountain.

Banned and no explanation
So I was testing the app, fun and easy to use. The free portion fully depends on you sharing your projects to the public feed of the app along with sharing to twitter, instagram, TikTok and Reddit. All of the sudden I can not long publish projects and all support can tell me is I violated co tent policy but they can’t tell me what I published that violated policy and once restricted from publishing it is permanent and no appeal process. There was no warning that what I shared could violate policy. I had just upgraded to Pro account and will now be cancelling that and deleting the app. If you are using this app for free you need to be able to publish project to earn coins to continue to create projects. Publish with caution and be aware they will not tell you what their restricted you account for just some wide scope of you violated a policy.

Somethings has gone wrong recently…
I want to give this app five stars, and a month and a half ago, I would have. It used to make some of the best looking ai art creations of the available apps with daily free credit options. However, recently bugs and other issues have plagued many of the important features of the app. Retouching an image is essentially impossible, you either get stuck on the masking screen or the app freezes OR you hit the create button and nothing at all happens. Creating your own styles is also broken. You can waste 50 credits to train a style and there’s a very good chance it simply will not work at all. It’s a very expensive feature and it seems completely broken for now. Tldr, maybe wait a few updates before using this app

Interesting app but
It is an interesting app and I do like the fact that you don’t need a subscription. But I found that the AI will often do weird things when making or editing content. For example it seams to have a hard time with hand and will often depict the fingers pointing in weird directions or add extra digits. Then there is the fact that at times it seems to not understand the users description snd will produce stuff once again weirdly. I asked it to create an image of Chinese warriors fighting demons and what it gave me was just Chinese warriors with scrunched up and disfigured faces and weird hands and no demons except for one. The AI has potential but need’s serious improvements.

wish i could give 5 stars, used to love this app
ive had this app from the start basically and man it was evolving so fast and so well for so long. but after months of using midjourney and finally returning to starryai, i have to say this app is absolutely AWFUL and the biggest waste of money. the interface couldn’t be buggier, the quality is insanely poor. for some reason, using 2 credits instead of 1 for 100 iterations rather than 50 iterations results in much poorer quality??? i have a million problems with this app now, and very few good things to say. whatever good things come out of starryai, i promise they’ll be WAY better in midjourney. so PLEASE, take your money to midjourney if u want to make high quality ai art that is accurate to your text input. cancelling my starryai membership now!

Fantastic
Great for specs/ idea generation and initial layouts; equally helpful in directing my approaches in creation; and some wonderful style changes that teach and challenge my (*stale thoughts & repetitive habits) lesser artistic aspects into fresher thoughts - some of their generation pieces are absolutely fantastic (especially if you’ll put a little effort and retries into it). Even as challenged, cheap and poor as I am (disabled artist don’t ya know) this has pretty much been the best AI Art generation app I’ve used so far (and have now touched about a dozen others) - very grateful for this tool. Thank you StarryAI ❤️

A four year old would follow instructions better.
It produces some well rendered images, but they have almost nothing to do with what was requested in the prompt. Even introducing a starter image won’t help. When asked to do something simple, like “Sasquatch sipping a can of Pabst beer” it might produce a lumberjack bearded man in a blue denim shirt, or a plaster gargoyle on a stump, or a gorilla with a clothed human body holding a can with nonsense non-words on the can. If you ask for Trump’s face with a pig nose, it just draws a pig head. I can’t find any way to make it even marginally useful, it has NEVER done what was requested in the prompt. Human artists have no fear of being replaced any time soon, these apps have zero comprehension. UPDATE: Now even more useless. Putting black squares over parts of the image.

Great app, big problem though
So, this is my first time reviewing something, so… This app is honestly amazing to me, it gets all the features of the art right, but recently something happened, and I can’t get any ai art, basically it’s a ad, the Firestone ad, I can’t skip it, and I want to make ai art very badly, but whenever I press “create” it always gives me that specific ad, I’m just asking if you could take down the ad and replace it with something else? Or maybe make the ad skippable? Please?

Glitched out
While trying to create new projects, the app itself refreshes constantly as if the server isn’t able to keep up with the amount of people using the app. This happened while on two separate WiFi locations. I was only able to access my image files by clicking on my push notifications, not on the actual file in the app. In addition to the constant glitching, the app claims you can cancel your subscription any time if you sign up for the 3 day free trial, but what they don’t say is you can only cancel your “membership” after the first weeks billing cycle, which is very tricky and I wouldn’t have signed up for the FREE trial if it was going to cost me $6.99 to try this app out anyways. Use at own risk ✌️

Doesn’t match the competition
Maybe this was one of the best options a year ago, but now it is way too expensive for what it delivers. I compared this to a few other AI art generators using the same prompts and settings. The art in this app is sometimes downright ugly. There are many more mistakes (such as a person’s head being backwards). And frankly it is just too expensive. Other apps charge close to this, but they are not limited. This app gives credits (or an iteration). It’s possible to use 200 iterations in a month easily depending on your project and process. This gets 2 stars because it returns photos quickly and allows you to save your prompts and settings.

All of my images disappeared
Every single one of my pictures are gone, it just says I don’t have any so thats why one star is gone. The second star gone is because with all the details you can make to your generated photo. The main issue is with which artists you can choose. It will say the artists name but you can’t really tell what their style is until you use your points to see. I feel like it would be better to have a “popular” sections when creating a picture because that allows people not knowing what they want to see what the majority of other people find best

This app is insane
I’ve tried out over a dozen “text to art” AI apps and StarryAI is the only one that is capable of generating people and animals that don’t look like Vecna’s wet dreams. If you ask Starry to make a photo of a character you made up, it creates a mindblowingly realistic rendition of your imagination — and not of some freaky distorted zombie nightmare like every other app of this kind does. I don’t know what Starry has that’s different but it’s lightyears ahead of every other AI art app out there at the moment.

Mixed feelings
I like to use the AI to create references and inspiration to do actual paintings. This AI is definitely the best for that, results are good. However, the shady unethical backgrounds bothers me. It is a nice resource. However, it bothers me that they push for a premium payment-based subscription, when the models were trained off of artist’s work without their consent, and without compensation. I would love to use this AI for reference images, but I can’t pay the subscription in good faith, knowing that they took advantage of artists to create it. The artists who made this AI possible were not compensated. How can I financially support a company who is profiting off the exploration of artists? I think AI like this is valuable, I just wish it wasn’t so shady and unethical. Either the software should be free, because non-profit research was the pretense under which the copyrighted work was allowed to be used to train the AI model. Or, if it is going to be a commercial for-profit software like this, the artists should be compensated and consent to their work being used

Good but still needs work
This is probably one of the better AI art apps I’ve tried. It allows much more freedom for creation options plus is very f2p friendly. It’s still a bit buggy tho, it seems to have issues. It’ll bug out occasionally crashing or black screening while opening pictures. Plus the projects mode could use some work. Like for instance deleting a project maybe shouldn’t delete the art in it. Also they should add the ability to move pictures from one project to another.

BEWARE: I will not pay to use it anymore. Scammed and unequal censorship
THERE ARE BETTER SITES WITH BETTER CONTROL OF THERE AI GENERATORS So imagine bringing a prompt to life only for it to be flagged for NSFW even though your piece had none when it was published. Even if you remove the NSFW in the prompts they still flag it. Subject in an evening gown?? Flagged - Using the word “pawn”? Flagged I’ve found better sites like Artbreeder which is free to be much more fair and responsible with their use of censorship. Censorship issues: You can have a fully clothed submission and the will still flag your submission and blame the AI instead of fixing the issue. Also I noticed that more than credit is used per submission. I am canceling my subscription due to the shady business practices of this app.

Great AI art tool
I downloaded this on my iPad like several month ago, i was producing some trash so I stop using it. But one day I got inspired by another person doing some cool anime style AI art for a NFT project that I actually purchased. So I gave it another shot, I simply went into the prompts and wrote a story. The results so far are great. I am hooked right now and have so many idea coming from this. Hope fully something can improved and be added to platform itself, but great job so far.

Starryai!
Wow this is an amazing app. I love all the details and beauty it has. I realize Ai is hard to do but if I could give a suggestion, maybe when blending two images it could come out smoother or with the original thought. For example I typed in: “Galaxy full of roses” and it gave me what looked like cinnamon rolls with weird space colors. Maybe it could have kept the color of the roses instead of making them the background? Thank you if you read, great app and bless your heart.
