I enjoy the convenience and the modernization in accessing my account with the Suffolk credit union. I have been a member since May 1, 1974 and I’ve always had a wonderful and pleasant experience and relationship with all the people that I have dealt with down through the years. I am now residing and have been for the last 11 years in San Diego, California, but still keep my banking with the suffix credit union.
A few weeks ago I totaled my car and insurance covered majority of my loan. But I still had a little left to pay. So I transferred what I thought was the appropriate funds from my other bank into my Suffolk account and when I tried paying off the rest of my loan I received a generic error message that said to contact the bank. When I called the bank I sat on hold for roughly 10 minutes and when I was finally connected with a representative he was pretty rude about the whole situation. Apparently the bank holds $5.00 in the account at all times but no where does it say or show that in the app. Now I have to wait another 3 to 5 days for the money to transfer so I can pay off my loan. Honestly I would’ve been writing this review if the representative wasn’t so rude or if the app just showed me an available balance without the $5.00 hold included.
I have been waiting patiently for this new update. Although it is better (Face ID to log in rather than 100 passcodes), but why must I use a separate app (Card Valet which is absolutely HORRIBLE!!! I’ll be writing a review for that next), in order to get transaction alerts. My son could no longer take dealing with SFCUs antiquated technology and has now opened a Chase account. It’s so great, he gets immediate alters on any and all transactions. Unfortunately, I may need to make the move to Chase myself. SFCU needs to get with the times!!
I love the app however in the last few weeks I have been having trouble getting the app to open. I’m forced to shut down my phone and re-boot everytime I use the app.
I have had great difficulty with getting this app to work. When I go to use it, it says, that I need to download the app, which is already in place. I think SFCU is behind the times. I have had to deposit the check via remote deposit to my TD Bank account and then transfer the check amount externally back to SFCU. I only gave it 3 stars, as it has gone through the last 2 times, but with great difficulty and frustration.
I’m happy with the application and the productive ways it works. I have enjoyed how skill and experience I have become to make all sorts of transactions with this app. I have enriched myself and accept any challenge the staff has assisted me with. So convenient for the customers to check their accounts. New feature gives us access to pending transactions also. Love that feature. We can take a picture of a check for deposit also. Love this app!
My family and I have banked with SFCU for decades. You would think that meant something to a ‘small, local’ credit union but it absolutely doesn’t. Over the years I’ve seen them go from bad to worse policies and programs. They and their app is not user friendly at all. This app doesn’t have the option for real time messaging about the status of the account, usage, potential fraud… ANYTHING. I can’t wait for my family to stop banking with them!
I have no difficulty navigating this app . My favorite feature is remote check deposit. My second favorite feature is categorizing all of my payments in checking for better tracking expenses.
The app could be more interesting but I do like it cause I have access to almost everything I want, but I want my ID number, account and routing to be accessible cause everytime they ask me or I need them it’s a nightmare. After that, great job. Thank you!!!!
Even when you link other accounts and they get verified . A month later later it will tell your the other outside accounts are unlinked and you have to keep going to thru the same cycle of re-registering the outside accounts . Or nothing updates about your money. This nonsense only happens thru the app.. and it always unrecognizes your device.. NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES YOU ENTER THE CODES TO VERIFY YOUR DEVICE ..
I love this app, It always tells me everything I need to know and when I accidentally put my password in it immediately send me a notification that “someone” is messing up my password. Great bank, ATM is 24/7 and they’re very close to my house.
You’ve updated this app with too many ads for you bank. I just want my checking and savings information to be able to access my account easily and if I touch my screen in any manner in the wrong spot, some thing else pops up it’s extremely annoying
I’ve been with SFCU for 23 years and using the app since it was released. I find it easy to use and love that I very rarely have to go into the bank, mostly because I don’t have the time.
A bit different from other banking applications but you will be pleasantly surprised if you just take some extra time to acquaint yourself with the features.
Easy to use, well laid out. I wish it were a bit easier to pay the credit card, it’s hidden in “pay loans”. I do love that I can categorize every transaction and view it in a graph!
Will there be an update to your app soon? This app seems to be behind in comparison to where other apps are. Transfers are tough, checking statements, paying bills.. it’s all almost nearly impossible or at least always an issue. The remote deposit works well though! Looking forward and hoping for an update in the near future. 🤞🏼
The SFCU App is very easy to use and provides all necessary banking information in only a few clicks. I would recommend all members to use it for all banking needs.

It’s a problem that I have to enter the password every time. I don’t use the app a lot and because I have to change the password every time because I don’t remember it I never get to remember the new passwords
Horrible timed out before I was done paying bills then when I went back nothing was saved had to start over. Not like I had a lot of down time. Was constantly using. Wouldn’t let me add payees. Had to use another bank to finish bill payment. It’s even worse than it used to be
