I love Swappa overall but they do have some work to do on their app. Me personally as a seller have experienced many issues with search terms, random crashes in comment page, unable to load shipments through the app, and options are missing for certain devices where they need to be required. If your a buyer I would suggest using the browser, it’s a lot better. The reason I use the app is for the notifications, but they recently stopped working too. If Swappa staff reads this I would love to offer some more feedback and be more specific just contact me.
I'm writing this review to warn others about the terrible selling experience I had on Swappa. I listed my phone for sale on the app, and it was immediately purchased by a buyer. However, the buyer then refused to pay for the phone, and Swappa refused to help me. I spent weeks trying to get in touch with Swappa customer service, but I never received a response. I eventually had to file a chargeback with my credit card company, but I'm still out the money I paid to list my phone on Swappa. I'm very disappointed with Swappa's customer service. They were completely unhelpful and unresponsive. I would not recommend Swappa to anyone who is looking to sell a phone or other electronic device. Here are some of the specific details about my experience: I listed my phone for sale on Swappa on May 1st. The phone was purchased by a buyer on May 2nd. The buyer contacted me on May 3rd to say that they would not be able to pay for the phone. I contacted Swappa customer service on May 4th to report the issue. I never received a response from Swappa customer service. I filed a chargeback with my credit card company on May 10th. The chargeback was approved on May 15th. I'm still out the money I paid to list my phone on Swappa, and I'm very disappointed with their customer service. I would not recommend Swappa to anyone who is looking to sell a phone or other electronic device.
I am not pleased with swappa. I was ordering a phone on the site under nycphonebuyer page. I placed my order, checked with my bank to see if it went through. It did. When I returned to swappa, I was met with no account. I had been kicked off by swappa. I contacted the help desk by email. It said they answer promptly in 20 minutes. It is going on a day and a half. I tried contacting through IG and twitter (X) but know answer. I just want to know what happened and if my money us lost. The other part of the story is I contacted nycphonebuyer to see if he received my order. No answer back yet. I don’t know if he received, if swappa notified him of the order, or what. I don’t have time to stress. I recently had a major surgery. I may just chalk it up to a fine, swappa keep this money and lose whole lot more in return
I purchased an Apple Watch Ultra 2 from “Boricua Cellphone Shop Kentucky” and am so happy I did. This merchant is quick to respond and provided me with a product that frankly was better than new! My watch was sent out in 40 minutes, and arrived in thoughtful packaging, the watch exceeded my expectations, and for an unbelievable price. I’ve been using Swappa for several years and was excited when they launched an iPhone app. I’ve both bought and sold on swappa—good experiences with that process. Their iPhone app has been a little bit of a disappointment: 1. Browsing products is way more work than necessary. For example: go to the iPads section and you’re presented with a massive list and no ability to sort or filter. The same with iPhones. There are simply too many iPhones in existence to not have filtering and sorting. Yet on their website they offer a huge number of sorting and filtering options. 2. In the cameras section, you’re only choice is to scroll left and right viewing only 1 item at a time (really, one at a time!). 3. When you attempt to leave a comment on a product, there isn’t solid feedback you’ve actually submitted the comment. 4. Some of the visual design compared to other shopping apps is a little bland. Specifically the gray boxes on the background. 5. Not all of the product categories are available on the app. Some are only on the website.
If you’re looking to get a nice, used device and want to ensure you don’t get scammed, Swappa is absolutely the best platform. I’ve never had any issues with them. They do require you to buy through PayPal, which can be a bit of a pain. But nothing that would stop me from using them! Bought my phones from this site for years.
App needs to see some serious love, it feels like the most basic app and like it was created without anyone thinking about the design. That said, it gets you right to the point on condition and pricing and the filters work well, and the fee is very reasonable while still giving you confidence to buy. Will def buy on here again and also probably sell on here in the future. Audio section of the app just entirely fails to load.
This iPhone XS Max is in Excellent condition ! It was Rated Good but actually it could have been Rated Mint! No visible dents or scratches, or marks on this iPhone, very very subtle wear, you have to really look for it, it’s in Great Shape. You can tell Matt really took care of this iPhone, and it’s running like a Champion! I consider Matt to be a guy of integrity, you should buy from him. Thanks Matt!!
I like using Swappa because there are plenty of tools for researching what you want. Also, the sellers descriptions are very accurate, and the products are always exactly as described. Additionally, the prices are very competitive. I trust that I will receive what I purchased and what I wanted.
There was an error on their site and I got charged hundreds of dollars without ever confirming an order. Contacted them right away, but they did not even respond to the web inquiry. Instead, the seller started sending me tracking info and now he’s lost his shipping fees and I the purchase value. I don’t think I’ve ever had a web merchant not be able to cancel an order when notified right away of an error. Hoping to save everyone else from taking risks with this service.
I think the previous reviews are from an older version, but this update gets lots of data in the app natively. Swappa is the best place to pickup a dev test device or sell some old equipment and I'm looking forward to future updates and new features.
I’m going to focus on the usability of the app, it’s very bare bones UI and it is fantastic. Supports the OS dark mode, dynamic type and does try to re-invent its own UI paradigms. This feels like a more TLC and well managed Craigslist which also tracks with the selling and buying process.
App is a nicely designed catalog but utterly absent are the tools that sellers need: listing items, modifying listings, seeing your messages, responding to messages, etc. I receive push notifications about messages but appear to have no way to view them in app. I suppose that’s better than no notification at all, but why have the app if I need to go to the website for every seller interaction?
Been wanting a Swappa app for ages and glad they’re finally on it. Unfortunately app still needs a LOT of work. Tried searching for a phone, tablet and watch and app freezes on each one. Not able to even see a photo or scroll down for item details. The Home Screen “browse our catalogue” is missing watches/wearables category option. Needs to be added. Hoping swappa gets things sorted. I’ve bought at least 6-8 personal phones using this app and saved a lot of money instead of buying new. This is a great safe way to purchase used phones.
Love love Swappa - their app though should be checked by their own company and tested a couple times a year. Seems lazy when a tech company allows their own app to fall behind (freezes when clicking on pictures) with the latest softwares and devices. Love Swappa - disappointed with the functionality of their app.
I am trying to use app but it immediately crashes and leaves app as soon as I try to open. I have used Swappa a few times and was impressed. I I downloaded and re downloaded, and it is still having the same issue. Please fix so I can use the app again, I need a new phone! Please and thank you In advance.
So I have always heard good things about swappa. Probably ad a buyer. As someone who is just trying to sell a phone because they are not using it, they really screw the seller with all the fees. I lost 10% of my sale from fees. I would not recommended using them and stick to mecari as they do not have unrealistic fees.
App crashes at times. Laggy scrolling. Images slow to load. I do like the option of selecting multiple phone providers. An ok app. Gonna stick to the wed site store for now.
here where you find good prices for second hand phones and tablets with serious sellers and they are as described .. swappa team continue to have this reputation I recommend them with a 5 star rating
I have been using this service whenever I’ve been ready for a tech upgrade. The customer service is just first rate. It is wonderful, safe and I trust them. Buy or sell with these guys.

I have purchased several phones using Swappa and have been satisfied every time. The app is user friendly for buyers (I have never sold anything here).
Not for sellers. It’s for buyers and offers enough to make purchases. I will give it two stars because if you just found out about Swappa through the app and are looking to sell be warned they only use PayPal payments. Meaning everything you sell will be given a fat lump to PayPal for doing nothing. In 2021 the fact PayPal is still a thing is embarrassing.
Swappa does a great job of vetting merchandise and they have great communication. Very pleased with multiple purchases and will continue to buy from them. Highly recommend.
Battery health percentage should be a mandatory part of each listing, but since it isn’t, it would be nice to be able to set a filter to see only phones that have a battery percentage listed and then to sort by battery percentage.
App is poorly designed. When searching for iPads I can’t, you can’t even tell which one you are clicking on because the name doesn’t finish. For example: iPad second ge…… Utter trash app design. Come on, a ten year old could design a better app than this. Try again, swappa. Try again.
The iPhone app looks good for iPhone, but since it's offered for Mac and iPad it would be ideal to at least make the app fit. The iPad app layout wouldn't be hard to reuse for mac or vice versa, either. Anyway, I'm just glad Swappa has an app at all now.
Phone arrived really faster than I expected. Phone is in excellent condition snd included lots of accessories with the phone Chris communicated every step of the way. Excellent seller.
The app is nice but every time I either refresh the page or try to go back to the previous it just closes the app and I have to start all over to find the device again in the list of devices. Please fix this. I am using it on iOS.
Product’s pictures are not able to be zoomed. We need to be able to zoom in to see details at the photos like we would be able at the web browser. Please fix this in the app for 5 stars. Thank you
My only issue with this app is navigating from different pages of the app are not anal intuitive as they could be. Specifically, finding my saved items or orders can be a bit confusing. Otherwise the apps cool.
No matter how many password reset submissions I make, every time I click on “reset password” it just directs me to the login screen in the app. And then get this, I can’t login. I literally cannot reset my password to get back into my account, it’s an endless loop and looking it up doesn’t yield anything useful to help
App is trash I tried to sell both of my old iPhones and at last minute said my listing can’t be published because the model is incorrect. Yet my model number wasn’t even available to put. Like I can’t list it because of that?!! Maybe add all model numbers in the app it’s ridiculous. I’ll use another app that’s les complicated.
Staff are amazing and the buying and selling process is very simple. However the app isn’t always the clearest showing payment info and needs more work to catch up to industry leaders
I installed this and got to search for what I wanted a few times. Now I turn app on and get this Network Error every time and it doesn't let me go to settings or anything. I uninstalled and reinstalled and it would work and then not any more. iPhone XR
A convoluted mess of an app with surprise fees. They charge the seller a transaction fee, the buyer a fee, the seller a commission fee, two more PayPal fees, all while not being transparent. I should have never explored outside of offerup. Do yourself a favor and stay away from the app. I will say they have active reps who will jump in to assist which is nice but the app is way too inferior.
Their support team is horrible and do not respond to any emails. I’ve emailed them numerous times with no response. They blocked my account initially and then blocked my IP address and wouldn’t give an explanation as to what I did to get banned. I like the app/website but no use if I can’t use it.
The app doesn't work. It will open, I can select iPhone, then the model I want, but instead of showing the available sales, I get a "No Network" error. That's it. Does the same thing on my iPad Pro 12.9". Have to use a browser.
Buyers have all the power on here, no matter what, pretty much. Go to eBay for your buying and selling. I had too many bad experiences and swappa sits back and only hopes to be able to keep the fees they collected (they kept my money on one occasion, even after I asked 3 times got it to be refunded)
Ordered a new phone through one of swappa’s sellers Km trading. Never received the phone. They blame usps but when I called usps they blame the seller. I don’t care who is at fault. I just want my refund for the phone I never received. So so sick of people not taking accountability in this world.
Lots of issues uploading photos had to refer to the webpage to finish my listing. When you click edit to adjust listing in the app you continue to get server errors. Had to delete the app. Needs some work and quality assurance.
The pictures do not appear through the application, and the problem was sent more than a week ago to technical support and the problem has not yet been resolved!!!!
