I have used many hotel booking apps and websites over the years and nothing comes close to Tablet. Some others have started out strong only to become a disappointing mishmash. While I feel the odd hotel should not be featured on Tablet, the vast majority of what they offer (and at a very attractive price point), make Tablet the top app for booking hotels in my opinion.
Tablet has absolutely no ability to manage their hotel partners in any way. They are literally just a an online vending machine where in you put money in and a hotel room comes out but that’s where it ends. If you have any issues which human beings do all the time in our lives tablet can do nothing to help you with your booking. I was unable to travel because of Covid which we all know is unpredictable and they had no ability even with 24 hour advance notice to get me a credit or refund or anything. The hotels that they work with clearly do not respect them. I work in events and I work with hotels all over the world, and hospitality management groups are not as inflexible as the ones Tablet has partnered with. So like most app-based companies out there this is a lot of air and almost no substance.
I don’t take a trip without checking Tablet Hotels first. It doesn’t matter where I’m going, they’re gonna put me in a hotel that is perfectly Curated to suit my needs and style of travel. If I have ever had trouble with the reservation it’s always been tablet to the rescue right away no questions asked. Thank you for so many years of great service tablet :-)
I love this app! I’ve been following them for a long time. During COVID, I made wish lists of places to stay with this app. I felt like I was able to travel from my own home to experience some incredible places around the world. Great deals - better than going direct to the actual hotel web sites to book a lot of the time.
Tablet is the best resource I have found when trying to cut through the clutter to find hotels I’m actually excited to stay in. Selection is always on point and I love receiving additional benefits through Tablet Plus. Customer service is always so great to deal with as well. Best service for finding unique hotels for people that want a luxurious genuine experience.
This site is terrible, I made the mistake of paying for a plus membership and every time I have attempted to use the “special benefits” they have somehow not applied to the reservation. Do not book through them, but their content is decent. Replying to developer response - no where on your plus membership page (unless it has been updated) did it outline the massive limitations to plus nor were these limitations in the terms (of five reservations I attempted to make the plus benefits didn’t apply for one reason or another). Advertising a service and then not providing it feels pretty scammy to me!
The staylist feature adds an exceptional tool to an already great travel app that’s turned out to be my favorite. If you love hotels this is a must have. Also I see some poor reviews from people that had poor hotel stays. I have used their customer service a few times and they’ve been great even helping me out of a jam once.
An exquisite and curated list of only the best hotels
Simple and intuitive app, but the curation is key. As a frequent traveler, finding an excellent hotel among the hundred or so choices that you typically get from the various hotel booking apps can get a little tricky. With this app I can choose among only the best hotels. A MUST HAVE if you are a traveler.
For users who are flexible about dates of travel, it’s not possible to select a hotel first and see availability. One can only search by specific dates (again and again until availability is found). It’s a pity because many of these hotels are appealing enough that I would plan a trip around available nights.
I have used the Tablet Hotel service for 10+ years. Whenever we want something unique and hip in any city across the globe we use Tablet. They have never let us down and there customer service and emergency service is incredible any time of day in any time zone.
One of the main reasons I would use the app was the ability to create lists of favorite hotels, and then quickly check price and availability of all the hotels in the list at once. Now that functionality is gone and I have to manually check every hotel one by one, which is a far worse experience. I don’t understand why you would take out such a useful functionality.
Tablet provides poor purchase protections and worse customer service. You’ll get better protections, service and rates elsewhere, which means they don’t add any value beyond a handy listing of hotels. So just use Tablet to search for hotels, but then book directly with hotels or another service. **Amended: see their response below - “We are not the problem, you are the problem.” Such helpful customer service!😂**
I love this app, but ever since the last update, 90% of the time I get an error message when I try to click on a hotel, or click on my profile, or try to look at my saved lists… Whatever you guys did this last time, please un-eff it.
I don’t go anywhere without using Tablet Hotels. Best hotels, best experiences. The world is beautiful and traveling is a wonderful thing. Stay at the best places, don’t compromise.
I would never trust tablet for a hotel recommendation again. The hotel we booked was so bad we couldn’t stay and not only did they do nothing about it, they blocked me from reviewing it even though I still had to pay for the room. Beware.
I’m an inveterate boutique hotel aficionado. I’ve been known to structure entire trips around the hotels I’ll visit. So when I saw Apple had named this their App of the Day, I figured I’d give it a try on my iPad. Except they don’t even bother offering an iPad version. If you try to install it, you get a tiny, iPhone-sized app.
This is the most streamlined booking app I've seen. Not only does it narrow down the hotel selection to the best hotels in the world, but it also escorts you through the booking process in a clear and efficient way. Great work!
I tried looking for a hotel in Gatlinburg and it wouldn't let me type the city in. They when I got the city name in, it gave me hotels for Atlanta. DOES NOT WORK
My favorite travel website now has an app to go with it. This app has all the style and functionality Ive come to expect from TabletHotels.com with some amazing added perks and features such as the ability to reference Tablet Plus amenities on the fly. With this app I'll be sure to Travel Better!
