ToonMe: Cartoon Face Filters

Hi! ToonMe is great!! It is so fun to turn selfies into cool animated styles, and I love that there are so many different types you can choose from! There is a premium version you have to pay for but you really don’t need it there are so many free ones it’s great without paying!❤️However, sometimes it gets things wrong or makes you look funny but that’s just because the specific photo doesn’t work well with that filter. There are also ones where you can do more than one person! It would be cool to do animals too though 🐈🐕The app has been a bit weird occasionally and has crashed for me, and some of the photos I’ve selected became blurry and unusable, but I think that’s just something with my phone and not with the app 😂tbh I didn’t have great expectations for this but it’s really cool now that I tried so yesssss download it, I think it’s great 😄So overall there are some flaws but it’s pretty awesome 😎 Hope this review helped you to figure out whether you’ll get ToonMe, thanks for reading!

Hi! I got this game and started playing it right away. I opened the app with so much excitement, however when I opened the app it said I had to pay $29 a year in total. Well that’s not really fair I mean is it too much to ask to see what I look like as a simson? After a minute or 2 I saw an X in the corner and pressed it. There were so many edits I could do like a me as a Disney princess or a simson and even a galaxy! They look all so fun and cool but I started by clicking a Disney princess one. There was a SUPER long add that took forever and when I finally got the add to go away it asked me to crop the picture I picked. I cropped it to the size I wanted it and pressed NEXT. Then there was ANOTHER ADD!!! The exact same one too! Like I already watched this, obviously I don’t want the game. If I did we wouldn’t be in this situation right now. I finally got the edited picture to my liking and sent it to myself so it would be saved to my photos. Then I thought “ maybe I could make my dog look like she is floating in a splash of paint” 💭🐶🎨🖌️ So I took a really cool photo of my dog and clicked on the filter I wanted it at. Then I watched the SAME ADD just to see that it said I can’t take photos of dogs with this app! WHAT!!!!???? That’s not fair. Otherwise the app is really fun and I do recommend.😊

I think this app is great! It is better that most cartoon apps because you don’t have to pay to cartoon yourself. You can cartoon unlimited times and there is no adds! Yay 😀. I would enjoy if there was more cartoon filters and if you could see the pictures you have cartooned in the app! If you are looking for a app to cartoon yourself than I would suggest this app. It is not the cartoon app for someone looking for a fancy photo editor with millions of gadgets to edit with but it is amazing and I love it very much. I would definitely recommend this app to anyone looking for a free option to cartooning yourself with fun filters. This app is easy to use and free. Also they don’t constantly make to try and buy a premium. I use this app daily and love it so much. Download it Today! I’m not a bot or a fake person! sorry if it sounds like i am!!

It’s a very good app, selfies and pictures are much better than the originals. User interface was a bit confusing in the beginning but it clears up in a little time. What concerns me is the photo privacy. When I initially installed the app, I gave permission to all photos, then I decided I wanted total privacy so I turned off (disallowed) access to all my photos from the iPhone settings. To my surprise, ALL tenths of thousands of photos that I have up to date were available and visible from within this app. I thought it was a glitch, so I logged out of the app, deinstalled it, installed it back and this time without even logging in, all my photos were again accessible from within the app. How is that possible? I checked the photo privacy in settings…..it’s set to NO photos allowed. The app is still asking for permission to access my photos, yet when I press the camera roll icon, they’re all there. I’m very confused, I had photo apps before (google photos for example), but the moment I turned off access to all photos, then I could not see any of them in the app. But this app is something else!

Hey so toon me is a great app and I love its features but there are some things that I would really love the creators to change. One thing is that for the animation that looks like Disney animation is that it keeps getting my eyes wrong my eyes are dark brown and it gives me light blue lol. And also in some of the ones I took of my dad it made his face look very big😔. It’s like u have to have perfect makeup and lighting for it to capture all of ur features. I hope this can be changed over time. I am only 12 and I can’t get social media with filters so my parents let me get this!😁 But overall I love those other filters and they make the experience so much better. I really like the results of my images but the user interface could be better. I can’t find a way to use the arts & effects tools until after I use a filter on my photo. I think it should have its own section so that you could use it with un edited photos as well. For example, if I wanted to use the fake a face effect to swap faces on 2 people, I see no option to get to the art & effects tools(which is the only place I can find it) until after I use a cartoon filter on one of the photos. It then allows me to go into the tools and select a second photo to swap faces. But it looks silly if one has a cartoon filter and the other one doesn’t. The app could also use a search feature to look up certain filters that you like to use. I just downloaded the app today and may be wrong but I can’t find a workaround. Other than that the result are great

Hi! So I really love this app, it’s so fun and entertaining, it’s just sooo expensive, and it’s a little challenging to navigate. Also whenever I make my own combo things it never works, it makes me sit through an ad, then it takes forever to load, just for it not to work. I can’t figure out why this is happening, is it because I don’t have PRO? Also it glitches a lot, whenever I make my own picture or what it’s called the people often have weird limbs, like once a woman had a arm coming out of her chest, and once a man had 4 hands, and whenever they kiss their faces are so weird and messed up. One last thing, whenever I type for her hair to be braided or in a bun or really any hairstyle other than down it doesn’t do it every time. Other than this I absolutely love the app!!

I saw lots of cute twitter pictures of people turning their faces into Disney Pixar and wanted to try it out for myself. I do NOT recommend unless you have a perfect headshot of yourself in perfect lighting with perfect hair and makeup. The first picture I tried was no makeup with my hair up, and they turned me into basically Hans from Frozen. Kind of hurtful. Then I tried a picture of myself with my hair down. The angle wasn’t even too bad, but the cartoon character that came out was about 200 pounds heavier than me in the face. Because I happened to be looking slightly up with my somewhat long chin and roundish jaw. I understand exaggerating certain aspects of someone’s appearance into a cartoon, but turning someone’s face shape into being morbidly obese is genuinely hurtful when I’ve spent years struggling with both my weight and health due to OCD. I wish I’d had the experience that I’d seen others have online, but I just don’t have the time and energy for a full photo shoot that would let the program see that I’m a woman who weighs less than 200lb.

OK first off the game or I guess app it’s I mean I’m not gonna split for other people that want to see it and you know what it’s OK I wish there was a few more features or whatever because it was kind of it. It was just kind of empty maybe add like like you what you would look like as a dog are you know it’s really really good. There’s also a Simpsons one in there I really like that I just out my whole family with that when they were like huh yeah it was funny. Um, you know this app is is pretty good. You know this I would consider this a good like app like it’s just you know it’s apps that are like this so you know it’s it’s it’s a pretty good app you know it’s not the worst. I feel like it could be better but you know developers please respond on this please I want to see what you think and maybe get some more ideas

This app is really great, for a few reasons. One, you don’t have to pay, unless you buy the pro version, which has the same basic stuff. Two, the pictures don’t require perfect lighting, or anything like that. Three, it doesn’t have any ads unless you click on the ads that come up. And four, most of the filters give you a different background, so you don’t have to download another app to get the background changed. One thing that I would change though, is some of the filters are the same, but it uses another persons picture. Other than that it is free, and great!

So yes I like the app (cause that’s in the title so duh) But before I got it a few days ago I searched up “ Cartoon video editors” and I found this app. Then I was like, wow, this is the perfect app for my purpose. 1. Then, I got the app and I was looking for how to make a cartoon video so that I could show my cousin and we could make one, but I searched and searched and I could not find anything even close to a video. Please let me make cartoon videos. 2. The photos are not realistic. I took a photo of my dad and he looked more like his business partner than himself. Please make them look more like the actual person. Enchanted did WAY better. 3. It’s very hard to navigate. Please don’t think that I am criticizing your app. It’s just, it needs a few tweaks to make it more enjoyable. Thanks for reading, please leave a response. 😊

I would give this app a higher rating if it were not so expensive. For the money I spent on it I should own it outright, not be renting it for a year. That said, it is a very fun app to play around with. Some of the cartoons I've made were a lot better than others. It made most of the women I've done very glamorous but a few came out not very pretty. I decided I would use the app when ever I got a chance to help justify the rental cost. I downloaded the app for the free 3 day trial. I thought I got back to it to delete it in time but I didn't make it so I ended up paying the $25 for one year. I've put a reminder on my phone to delete it at the end of 11 months. As much as I like the app I am still not willing to pay another $25 for it!

Just installed the app, and I am already deleting it. Everytime I click a picture to edit, an ad will pop up. I swipe to choose another and BOOM another ad pops up. Extremely frustrating that you have to sit through a dozen ads everytime you try to add, or choose which feature changing a photo to. You can’t even make small changes like adding words without an ad. I gave up after the second edit because it started asking to pay for upgrade on top of the ads… DO BETTER with your app…The edits on this are decent, ( that’s being generous even saying that ) but the hassle makes it not even worth it. There are WAYYY better FREE apps with no ads out there. I downloaded five when I installed this one. So far this is the ONLY one that’s ridiculous like that. Uninstalling as soon as I post this review.

Of course, like most tooning apps, i expeted an overload of adds, ads between everything, low quality pictures, and overpriced pro. But inlike all of the other tooning apps this actually meets What it says it is, the quality is very good (like that of a camera! But instead of spending hours editing i spend minutes,usually under 5) and many things are free, ppl are positive have had this 4 three yrs now, and no bad, or hurtful comments, which is quite a record for a social app that you share photos. I have deleted all social media acc 2ice now i think, but not this one . I love this app❤️❤️😍😍😍😍✨✨✨

This app is apparently sponsored by Disney. It turned everyone with brown skin into some kind of Ghetto hood rat. It kept giving me an Afro. No matter how many times I pressed the try again button it just got worse. When I put my friend Barb in it gave nice soft backgrounds with appealing outfits. I wanted to see if it would give her an Afro with an inner city background….nope. But when I put myself or sister’s picture it made the skin tone darker and put us in scantily clothed outfits with an inner city background. I put my mom in and it did the same thing. She was shown wearing a hoodie in the inner city with an Afro. Although I always wondered what I would look like with an Afro I didn’t appreciate the AI choices. My mom, sisters and I had a good laugh but then we stopped laughing.

Okay , I never write reviews on any apps. Because me an app is just an app. I have downloaded so many apps trying to find the perfect one to make myself look like a cartoon character this app gives you so many different choices to make yourself look like any kind of cartoon character I highly recommend this app and the other app you download it’s gonna make you pay this app gives you over 15 choices and I am so in love with it thank you so much for making this app I am certainly a very happy customer🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️❤️❤️

I downloaded this app for one purpose: to try out the 3D cartoon maker. I thought it would be cool to see myself and other people as characters like Anna & Elsa from Frozen, for example, or Rapunzel from Tangled. However, out of at least ten pictures I used of different people, the results were weird and unrealistic. The art looked rushed and didn’t show much resemblance to the actual person. It was so weird and creepy. Also some of the ads were unacceptable. Besides, there were a million toons you could do that had the same exact effect. Definitely do not recommend. Do not purchase! Also for anyone who’s crazy enough to try it, when you first open the app and it asks you if you want to get a pro membership, the way to get out of it is to look at the top left corner of the collage of pictures.

I’ve used this app in the past but it had been canceled the very first day I renewed it and it expired as well but they still charged me recently as if I renewed it but it doesn’t allow me to use it at all unless I pay! So it’s fraud! How are you going to charge me for an app I never renewed then not even allow me to use it! I reported it and they’re refusing to refund me so now I’ll be reporting it to my bank. I have a screenshot proof that I can’t access it and that it expired already as well so don’t even bother replying back that you’re not allowed to do such a thing because that’s obviously not true. Note: I see your response but I canceled the day that I purchased then it billed me later still so that’s a error in your system. See if other’s don’t complain about it, because it defiantly happened.

ToonMe is a great app don’t get me wrong, but I think it should have some improvements. First, you can’t have more than one person in a photo. I think it would be kinda cool to have a group cartoon pic of you and your friends. Next, the background is blurred. I like the effect that the background looks blurry, but it would be really nice if you could turn that effect off in like a settings type of area. Lastly, the thing that bothers me the most is the logo on the picture. I totally get it that you want to advertise your app but again maybe add a settings place to turn that off. The filters are creative and I love the fantasy aspect of the app. The only thing that this is missing is a search bar. I think adding one would be a great idea because there are some filters that I really like ( for example the one that has a dodge charger and lets you put your photo in behind the car and has as a gray scale background with a bit of smoke) but am having trouble finding Other than that this is a great app for photo editing

I’m a writer who uses this app to create images of my characters. It’s a wonderful app, but I have one small criticism. When using the create your own AI art feature, the app will sometimes change the facial expression of the image, which is fine if it gives you a variety of expressions. Unfortunately even when I type things like “no smile” or “frowning” into the prompt to remove a smile, it is not effective. For more menacing or stern characters, this poses a problem. I would love to see the app allow manipulation of facial expressions in the future. Otherwise, I love it.

It’s a good game because it turns you into a cartoon and you can be anything on camera and you can tap the celebrity button so you could be like Taylor Swift and other famous people The bad thing is you need to wait I don’t know some people that don’t like waiting so if you don’t like waiting that much I wouldn’t recommend it’s not the best game ever but it’s still cool it’s also free but it also freezes sometimes and then you need to wait a whole day to unfreeze trust me I’ve tried this many times that is all I need to say good day

You used to be able to select a picture and get several variations to choose from without having to pay. Apparently this was just a little too much so they completely broke the feature. Now you have to select each style individually and they don’t allow you to see it. You can still download it but you really don’t know what you’re getting until you go through all the trouble self it takes five times as long to do a photo as it used to. They really want to funnel you into the severely overpriced never ending overcharged premium features which will add up to 1000s of dollars over a few years. Stay away! Now there are no free features at all.

I get a message stating “Some of your results don’t seem to align with our community guidelines, e.g on erotic or conflict-provoking material. We value your creativity and encourage you to share other arts that meet our guidelines.” Why is this happening? There is no nudity. It is a picture of a mermaid. I am not sharing the picture so why am I getting this message. Next step is a BBB complaint. I can put the examples on a BBB complaint but not here. I pay for this garbage that doesn’t work.

whether you just want a cute cartoon of your selfies (which I did within minutes after found & downloaded it), or get drawn much deeper into Toon Me (as the TM app offers a package of numerous collections of options, … , yes, so much more than I initially thought) for endless engaging hours afterwards. My first few cute cartoons will be used as avatars, others as make-over pics. Toon Me is an excellent work of art & AI. Thanks so much for all involved in making this app possible.

This is ok but I’d like to edit landscape mode and not portrait. Seems like there’s landscape mode for cropping but no landscape mode for applying filter or toon feature. Crop feature doesn’t allow reducing size of landscape pictures so both people will show when toon effect applied. This is an app to get easily bored with as most everyone now is using toon features so not really worth subscribing to. Would be nice to search for landscape effects or have a section for applying effects to landscape picture.

There are only a few options for brown or black eye colors, while most are blue. There should be a separate option for us to choose where we can select which eye color we prefer. Although there are dark skinned people with blue eyes in the world, I am not one of them. Therefore, I look ridiculous with them. Also, the 3-D cartoons look nothing like me and they look very different from the picture submitted. They even come with different radiation in the face that I’m not there. Please rectify these issues as soon as possible. I will change the rating once the changes have been made.

I love this app so much and I love showing my relatives it! But I have a few small things that I must point out. My cousin just graduated and I wanted to send her one of these of her graduation pictures. She had on one of these hats:👩🏻‍🎓, but sadly it cut the hat off. Also, some of the add ones and backgrounds can be a little strange. Like I wanted to send my friend one of her and it kept putting a bubble in her mouth. And another time, it put an obnoxious background on! All in all tho this is an amazing app and I love it!

Reading my past review its not very constructive or detailed, but its just plain rude. I have indeed tried again, and it still is dirty blonde. Which dissapointed me. I was in the sun and I had even lighting at that moment but it was disappointing still. But what made me give two other stars are the fact the developer responded and told me what to do. Thank you!

I open the app and immediately see a full screen prompt for a survey of how I found the app. Eventually I find a skip button half off screen in the bottom right corner (not following the safe insets for rounded corners). Then it brings me to a page asking to pay for Pro, also full screen, this time with a white X in the top left corner on top of a white/light pink gradient so it is barely visible if you know where to look. Then I click on one of the options and it opens a full screen ad (fine since I hadn’t paid and obviously they need to make money somehow), but after a few seconds, there was no change and no visible X and I was done hunting for horrible dark pattern buttons so I uninstalled.

I love ToonMe!! I especially like the cartoon effects it does, just I have a few suggestions, I know you want to advertise this app using watermark, but I was hoping there could be change where if you aren’t using PRO then you have to watch an ad to remove the watermark, And maybe we could have like, more than one person in the photo, it would be awesome if we could do that. Then I could make my own graphic novel!!

I really like this app; have had it for a few years…it has improved greatly, enough where I WANTED to purchase a subscription, and did…the “Labs” feature was probably my favorite. Has it been removed? If it is, that’s why I gave 3 stars to what’s possibly a 5 star app. If it’s not gone, where is it? If I’m overlooking it (and I have looked), I’ll happily change my rating and apologize. Thank you.

I love this app. First one I see it actually recognize the faces and actually make renditions in other styles. I would love to have more manual controls to fine tune. And that photos or at least fine tune happens in the phone and not in their servers. Also. I would love to have better output resolution. Cause the result are print worthy. Is there a beta of this app?

I have an idea. I’m going to give you 24 hours to offer an update to this app which will allow for any photo to be used. It is absolutely stupid having your this app deny photos it chooses as either needing to better quality or forcing you to have a face with no sunglasses on or if it thinks it is nudity (when it is not). Maybe I like that certain filter and I want my car to look like that. Or maybe the only photo available is me and my girlfriend wearing sunglasses. You have 24 hours or I swear to god above (trust me even god knows not to mess with me) what I do next will be biblical. You have 23 hours and 56 minutes.

Not good at all! Unable to uninstall! This is very non user-friendly and does not allow you to uninstall or stop payment. Do not use this app unless you are willing to keep on paying for this. The app does not even let you write a review unless you have 100 words so you have to put this long message just saw it will let you post this. I keep on trying to close this out but it doesn’t let me because I have not reached 100 word limit so I will just keep on writing the sentence is over and over again very on user-friendly does not allow you to post reviews does not allow you to leave under 100 word message.

i got this app in an attempt to turn a picture of my boyfriend into a cute funny cartoon, you can imagine my disappointment when i entered a picture of my boyfriend who is black and the cartoon came out white. it literally turned him into a colonizer. it did not recognize his hair or skin color and instead popped out a picture that you could tell me was a founding father and i would belive it. this is extremely discriminating and i find it offensive that even something that is supposed to be fun and lighthearted is still something that he is discluded from. this is sad and unacceptable and as a society we need to be better than this.

First of all. Why would you need to know what I searched to find this app. Second of all. It need so work when I took a photo with my hair down and it made me a nun… I tried a different filter and it did the same thing but it just made me look 400 pounds fatter. Also the fact that there are so many ads is just a bit annoying but I’m glad you don’t have to see them ever time you use a filter. I honestly do recommend this but you have to have a clear shot of you or you’ll end up looking like shrek’s human cousin. Btw did I mention Half of the filters cost money.

This is the best photo editing app I have ever used. As some reviewers have pointed out, your photos need good lighting. You can’t just take a photo in the moment and edit it right then. However, if you have some good photos already saved (as most people do), the app will create INCREDIBLE cartoons. Typically apps like these just put a filter over your face. ToonMe actually recreates you as a cartoon. I have had SO much fun using it, and would recommend it to anyone.

This app is AMAZING I honestly can’t think of anything that is wrong with it, I love all of the effects, animations, and the app over all. I really recommend this app if you are looking for a quality editing app. There is such a wide variety of options, and you can make some really cool stuff with it. There are a lot of adds but they are really short and totally worth it. So yea, no complaints here!

It’s free you only have to pay if you want to but you still get to do unlimited photos to turn cartoon the only reason I would not give it five stars is because you can not cartoon two people at the same time and it blurs out all the stuff in the background and I wish it could turn all. The little stuff in the background cartoon to have that cute little detail and have someone else in the picture also it doesn’t cartoon animals but that it’s overall it’s pretty great 👍

I really wanted to live this app until a lot of the cartoon filters turned me and my family members from being ethnic to Caucasian. Not sure why it would do that but it’s a bit upsetting. You would think in the culture and day and age we live in now that this would be a thing of the past. It’s not that the app is not capable of staying true to the original skin tone because a few other filters in the app that I’ve used I didn’t have any issue. I believe it shouldn’t matter which filter I chose I should be confident that my ethnicity wouldn’t be changed to something completely different.

It’s a great game but it’s very expensive the game is free but the in store stuff like water marks and there are watermarks that will show up on ur pictures but if you can’t pay for it it’s useless. On the upside there are so many great pictures to use and see some might look a little wonky but it’s hilarious. And if I could go back in time a choose to either re-get this game or not get this I would still choose to get this.

I like the app and all but I think it would be cool if you could do an A.R. video like Animoji that’s on messengers app and have it NOT just on toon me pro but on toon me regular. Something new: I have been using a lot but for the last 2 days everything that had to do with labs and a bunch of other regular stuff has been replaced by the same thing in different colors PLEASE FIX! And bring back labs.

I was insecure about the way I looked so I thought that this might make me feel better and maybe have a few laughs.. this app just made me more insecure because in every filter I tried I looked worse then how I actually looked, I looked like a 50 year old woman with oily hair… I just washed my hair a hour ago so I really don’t recommend this app if you are insecure :(

Beware when you open the app - the agreement to use a trial and then be charged a year will pop up. I never agreed but the screen will bypass so you can use the features, making it seem like you have the trial. I looked around and tried a few filters and the next thing I know it charged me a year for the app that I DID NOT agree to. Not cool.

This app got 2 stars from me because it wasn't very good. At the start, I took 2 pictures of myself and cartoonified myself. Actually, they looked really good! I had a detailed astronaut design on my shirt, which was in the picture, and it even cartooned the astronaut and it looked perfect! I "saved" the pictures and went to my camera roll too see them. What? I didn't see the cartoon pictures. I saw me. Regular, realistic me! There was not a single bit of cartoon in the pictures. This app just let me take a picture of my self and save it. What a waste of my time! ToonMe, if you see this, please fix it.

I got this app because I saw it on an add and thought it looked cool, I was not wrong this app is amazing and I love it, it does have adds, and some stuff need the pass Witch costs money but no a lot needs it, one thing is that when you get in there is a little quiz of how you got the app but there not a a skip button on the bottom right, then there is an add. The app does need Wi-Fi. Over all this is an amazing app I highly recommend it!

I love this app! There are multiple ways to look good without wearing makeup and I just love the fact that I don’t have to go through all the time of applying makeup! I love that there are so many ways to toon yourself and my favorite is the Simpson style one, little me is so happy!! My only problem is that ads play when you are uploading and that’s a little distracting. Awesome app!!!!!!!!

I love this app! It's so cool, and there are so many ways to cartoonize yourself. I love how you can see other people doing it, so you can have a feel of how it would work. The only problem with me is the ads. Sure they're short, but they appear very frequently. That's the only complaint I have, otherwise this is just about my favorite app to use! Seems janky, adds pop up but you dont know they are adds until your redirected to a website or the app store. Take a picture and add a filter right?? Wrong! You choose a filter and then look up celebs?? Why? Took a few minutes to even figure out how to take/add a picture then it came out very janky. Not even close to the filter i chose after being rerouted multiple times to websites and app stores and all kinds if non affiliated links. Just wanted a cartoon pic of myself, no idea why i would even care about a celebrity. Maybe for younger tech savy rich kids but not for me.
