This is a fantastic and frankly underrated game! The details are almost unreal. The models are really fine, the textures and rendering engine seem to work well with my iMac 2019, and the addition of Mods makes it even more interesting. I'm a city planner by education so I enjoy the game in sandbox mode where I plan towns and traffic systems for hours of entertainment.
This game is a case study in non-intuitive design. It's a good game that's hampered by poorly-thought-out design choices. Most of these poor choices you would have to play the game to understand—over ten hours of game time in, I'm still trying to figure out how to design train tracks so that multiple train lines can use the same tracks—but for an easy-to-explain example of their user-unfriendly thought processes, there is no global music control. If you don't like music with your games, you have to turn it off not only every single time you start the game, but every single time you reach a major checkpoint in a scenario. Gameplay, as I mentioned, has a large number of similar 'What were they thinking?' choices. However, the game itself is fairly nice. Once you eventually learn how it works.
I have spent untold hours addicted to this game. I can't get enough and I love the graphics and being able to ride in the vehicles. I am still waiting for the Spring Update to release here on the Mac Store. What is taking so long Apple? The update dropped back on May 10, 2022. Steam released the update the same day.
Can i get a refund. Im having alot of problems on my ios. i tried playing for a while and had major lagging issuses. im sure the game is great but ill try it again on my M1 when support comes out for it. thanks
The latest update to fix bugs has only made it worse. Maps are generating with messed up graphics (desert scenario map looks like snow covered terrain). Overlays (elevation, water, etc) aren't even recognizable. Edge of maps are the only thing generating in the right color for the terrain selected....but it's out of bounds...and errouneously generates industuries stacked on top of each other. Back to TF1 for me till they fix this crap!
Great Game that would be even better with native M1 support
Game runs fine and is a lot of fun. I have had no crashes so far. Wish it was native M1 though so we could crank up the graphics. Once M1 support comes it will be a 5 star game.
Absolutely the BEST Game of it's type if you are willing to put in the time
I have been a Sid Meier's Railroad Tycoon then Sid Meier's Railroads! fan as long as they have been out (back in the Mac SE days!). While I love and still play it on a regular basis, without newer versions it gets boring. I have looked and (and bought) several train games trying to get a replacement but all have fell (very) short, until Transport Fever 2. This is the game I could have imagined Sid Meier's Railroads becoming if it has been updated over the years. If you are a fan of Sid Meier's Railroads!, buy Transport Fever 2 with no hesitation. If you are not familar with this type of game, it depends on your likes and the time you are willing to put in learning the gameplay. One important note is this IS NOT a casual, "pick up in a few minutes" game. You are not going to sit down and (really) understand the game fast. That may sound bad but it is not. That type of game you pick up fast, you also put down fast. This is the type of game that you could play for years. I have been playing a couple of weeks now and I am constantly discovering things that I did not know. I am getting better all the time and can see me spending (way too much) time in the future playing this! This game is not for everyone, but if you like tycoon type games and are willling to put in the time, buty this! Speaking of "buy this", thanks for not making this a "free games" with in app purchases. I had much rather pay for a good game then spend time actually playing instead of constantly waitching ads or having to spend money to advance in the game. While this game is not cheap, it is worth every penny I paid. A big thanks to Good Shepherd Entertainment for giving me my "next big thing"! UPDATE - Still LOVE THE GAME! Waiting for Transport Fever 3 (PLEASE)!
