First off I’ve been using this app for a few years now for truck driving. It usually works well. However, recently I’ve been noticing of the app automatically selecting flying miles to with no option to switch to driving miles. Not good! Example: picking up freight in Rockford IL and heading to Bonduruant, IA. The app automatically showed “flying” miles and there was no indication of driving mile calculation. I’m finding this happening more and more with this app. I need “drive”miles calculated. Please fix this or add an option to select flying or driving.
I have used this app very often and it has helped to provide me information to plan my trips. Mostly, I drive therefore I’m more interested in getting driving distances not flight distances, however very recently I discovered that in many instances the app shows only flight distances which surprised me that the ability to see driving distances is no longer available. I will be happy if this is reviewed and brought back. Thank you.
I loved this app so much until recently. I always counted on it and it was priceless to me . Until I put in a location and wanted to see how far to my destination and all it shows is via flying. Some locations to a particular destination will work however, others only show via flying and the bar across the top only shows flying. You have no option to choose driving like I used to . I did delete app and reinstalled but the same problem. Ugh
First, you must enter MPG and gas price in order to have Driving miles calculate. Otherwise, only flying miles calculate, which is just not the best option to default to in my opinion. Under the gear (preferences), there really should be a preferred method of transportation. Calculations are pretty quick, and accurate, but no indication of route being used to calculate the mileage. So, you have to break up your trip in smaller junks to get mileage for your intended route. Which really takes so d time and planning. Second, selecting an entry to re-type a different location (city) is next to impossible. I have to click at the end and the click delete multiple times to remove an entry so I can enter a different location. It’s not a great app, but it does the job.
This app, as others have mentioned, lacks the online calculators that make TravelMath so helpful. If these calculators were added to the app, this would be a truly useful app; but until they are added, it's nothing that any other map or travel app doesn't already have. I like the calculator online of cost to fly versus drive, and the ability there to change the factors, such as number of people traveling or how many miles per gallon your car gets. These would be really useful on this app. Hopefully there will be some updates soon!
As others have stated sometimes the app shows both flying and driving and other times it only gives flying as an option without being able to show driving distance. It’s too bad because it’s a great app when it gives you the choice.
I like the idea and the app, but it isn't fully useful to me yet. How about, in settings, you add a flight line like the ability to set speed? Puddle jumpers aren't flying at 600mph so being able to set a realistic flight speed like 130 or 160 would help make app more usable. Yes, simple math but if you have to do it by hand, why use an app at all? I do like how it picks the closet airport to my destination. I added a star just for that.
It is a good app but could be a lot better!! I gave it two stars because it has somethings that could make it excellent in my opinion!! One is that it does not save an address. It always wants to go to your location even if you turn the locator off. Therefore if you are moving to another state say, it is a repeat process of, this is the address where I work, how far is it from this point "A" to this house at point "B"!!! Small changes and I would rate this app a five star'
Although I have used this app for two years, in the last few months it will only load a flying option. It is impossible to change to the driving option. Please fix this !
In my opinion, Two changes would make this app perfect. 1. There should be an option to use “my current location” as the starting point. 2. In calculating fuel required, the app forces one to use whole numbers for the vehicle’s MPG. It would be more accurate if fuel mileage could be entered to one decimal point. If the developer is reading these reviews, please consider these suggested changes.
I do a lot of road trips and often need to calculate more than one location at a time. A “save trip” feature would be very helpful. That way I wouldn’t need to keep putting in information as travel plans are changed.
This app could be a lot better as most other people say. I searched for the distance between Budapest, Hungary to Kiev, Ukraine. For flights it said that the only direct flights are on Wizz Air. That is correct but Ukraine International Airlines has direct flights from Budapest to Kiev. Wizz Air uses Kiev-Zhuliany Airport while Ukraine International Airlines uses Boryspil Airport. Why does it show Wizz Air but not Ukraine International Airlines? I know it’s the same with most other flight routes you could input.
I’m having an issue with the app determining my location all of a sudden. This is something that just started about three days ago. I’ve uninstalled the app and downloaded it back to my phone. I’ve also reset my network settings on my phone trying to troubleshoot the issue but it still persists. Is this an ongoing issue that you guys are working on or has the app crashed or something?
I have been using Travel Math since I had my RV. Recently, Travel Math only calculates travel distance by plane without giving the option to compute my driving distance. If the app. Developers can fix this bug it would be greatly appreciated.
This app has become useless to me. I’m traveling 400 miles and it want to give me the flight distance. Who is it to decide I’m flying when I’m actually driving. I can’t find driving distance anymore. There needs to be a section in settings to decide between driving or flying
This app functions like a single use calculator. It does not retain any information. For example if you enter the trip information and click back, the fields are empty. Also, you can’t share the details of the calculated expense and the app does not store the results of prior calculations.
This app has no option to add the vehicle make and model so it can calculate the correct fuel consumption there for the estimated value of your trip is not correct if they were to add the option of the vehicle make model and year that would give you a more accurate estimate of what you fuel consumption would be
Great idea on the surface to get a snapshot shot of long distance commute, however my travel always include tolls an estimate of that cost will be great. Needs that improvement
This used to be my “go to” app for picking stopping places to overnight. Can’t use anymore because it stopped offering the “driving” option. Who cares how many miles there between A & B if you’re flying.
I have used the Travel Math website for years to find the nearest airports to a city, and the app was similar. Now you have to put in 2 locations which makes it more difficult.
Good app to have to calculate distance and cost of driving. However, it does not have the other calculations available online such as cost to fly or drive.
Please, bring this app, to the status of the online site and you will be the best. Right now, you are just another app, that's taking up space. Please, go back to the drawing board and redo this app. Thank you!!!
Doesn't even give halfway point like the photo shows. Don't bother. No options other than from, to, miles, travel time and the map. It DOES give an estimate of gas cost which WAS helpful!!! Keep working on it.
I no longer get the location I am presently at to show up automatically on the “From” line. As good as this app was, it is now useless. What happened??????
I like know distances from my city to plan motorcycle trips. But a map would be helpful and maybe half-way points would be good too. But the map would be helpful. They have one on the web but not on the app (dumb). The web map is only viewable in the size it shows and you can't increase the size for detail. It's my third time with the app and still find it disappointing. May as well just bookmark the website.
Finally! I was wondering when you'll have an app. The gas info is also informative but it would be nice to see which gas would cost cuz every gas station prices are different and it might do alot of refreshing, but i know it may take alot of work for that, so this is good, its just a suggestion.
The apps only options is to put the from city and to city. It calculates the flight price and the gas price. Which is inaccurate...you don't choose your dates, airline, time, airport - nothing. How does the app know what make and model car I am driving, what route I'm taking, etc. The idea is great but the app is so underdeveloped to ever be useful. It needs to allow it's user to provide it with key information to give an accurate estimate. At it's current version the app is a waste of time and space and will be immediately deleted at the conclusion of this review.
