I have to sign into the app every time I open it, like literally type in my user name and password. It works well to pay rent and looking at the features. My features are the front door and thermostat. The thermostat on the app is stuck on heat, it’s summer and we have it on air. In other words 50% of what I’m paying for isn’t working. Maybe the fees should be lower until they work out the kinks. That’s fair, right? Edit-update: I was able to speak with the smart home team and get my thermostat connected properly as of today. It’s working and reading correctly.
I live in Charlotte NC and have just been using the mobile site to manage my smart devices for a little over a year now.. but after being locked out of my house yesterday because the site wouldn’t connect & work for the thousandth time, I looked to see if there was an app and immediately downloaded. I put in my log in information and it said the app is not yet available in my location. I find that extremely odd and disappointing considering I live in such a big city and there are tons of tricon properties here. It said to be on the lookout for an email announcing the availability in my area and I’m just wondering how long that will be considering the app has been out for 4+ years? The mobile site just gives me so much trouble because sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. It doesn’t connect for some odd reason even though there is no issues with my wifi or cellular data. Then when I click on scan for networks it’s like it glitches and literally doesn’t even show the wifi options so there’s no way to try and reconnect. I just have to wait and try again like the next day or something and see if it randomly works again. I was really hoping this app would be the answer to the website issues!
I pay monthly for smart devices that aren't even smart. I can't set schedules for thermostat which makes it utterly pointless. Also my tricon account is missing the second thermostat. My next step is to replace the thermostats with my own so I can set schedules. Edit: now that I updated the app none of the so called smart devices are loaded in the app. Utter pointless app Edit to address the developer response: no I will not contact you. You built a terrible app that doesn't even address basic user features. Fix the app and make it worthwhile to pay an extra $20 per month. Cuz right now it ain't worth it
I wish the app had an integrated app support request. In the new release, the thermostat for the smart home always go to one thermostat even though there are more than 1 thermostat setting. I don’t know who/how to report these bugs to and it’s frustrating. A case of if it’s not broken, don’t try to fix it would have applied here.
Please develop a dark mode… Changing my thermostat temp all hours of the evening is blinding, because the only color option is a bright white screen…? Hurts my eyes… Surely for the monthly cost, that can be adjusted. Other apps just adjust to a dark setting when my phone goes to dark mode automatically.
It’s painfully slow and rarely connects to the thermostat. I don’t see what value it brings over the free thermostat controls that are normally used. Nice that I can submit a maintenance request and pay rent, but I can do that on my computer just as easy. It’s pretty frustrating to pay for the pleasure of just watch it spin struggling to connect. Updates and reinstalls haven’t fixed the problem.
This is the second time this app doesn’t function correctly. I haven’t been able to log in in almost a month now. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled and still nothing, I am able to log in on my computer but this app won’t let me.
The smart home concept is great except that the app is hard to get on. It comes up great but all the features are grayed out. Once in a while it comes right on but generally, not-so-much. I’ve checked my household internet connection often, and all is good at this end. I’ll keep trying.
Worked great for 18 days. Now when I log in it states I have to smart devices connected yet the website says everything is connected fine. Tried to delete and install app again and still using version 2.0. Not able to update to the new 2.1 update.
Unless it was updated before I noticed. On my iPad to enter the amount I wanted to pay, the number pad did not have #9. But my phone had no issues, otherwise good app so far
The app is a bit slow and clunky, but when it works, it works. My biggest complaint, is in the middle of the night when it’s hot, or when I’m watching a movie at night or something, the app has no dark mode. It’s 2024, so please add a dark mode.
The smart home portion never works. We pay a mandatory monthly fee for the smart home features but never can use it. Wish we could set up our own. Sometimes the app itself won’t load at all. I have to force close it numerous times a week. Sometimes it will be days before it actually loads correctly.
This app never works. I cannot use any of the features. I have uninstalled and reinstalled but it still doesn’t work and shows that I don’t have any smart devices in which I do, I was able access applications about 4 months ago but certain functions still didn’t work such as the thermostat feature.
Since the update my thermostat reading on my phone doesn’t work. It is stuck on 75 but the actual thermostat in the house reads 73. Also I try to unlock my front door remotely but it is not working. I didn’t have these issues with the old app version. This is frustrating.
When the app loads, the screen is completely white. I cannot access my smart home. Please help - its the 2nd time its happened in the last month. Ive already tried downloading it again, but it didnt help.
New to the app. I can unlock my front door from the app, but it stays in the status of locked, thus preventing me from being able to lock my door back through the app. I still need to login the website to lock my door back. I haven’t played around with the temperature yet.
I’m not able to see all the devices for my smart home. Tried to look up any “how to” instructions but I don’t know how to add more devices onto the app if that’s even possible.
Sometimes I come in to update my one star review because I’m surprised just how terrible this app truly is. Whoever did this “redesign” should be fired, haven’t stopped having issues since they updated it. Just another day of waking up to everything showing disconnected
Once the app updated, every time you go onto the app you have to log in with your credentials, doesn’t always let you log in either. Screen will refresh and wipe out the credentials. Had troubles here and there adjusting the thermostat.
I would give this negative stars if I could. Cannot log into the app. Tech support will not answer the phone or call back when I leave a message. App is useless and the hardware components are expensive paper weights.
Once logged in the entire screen turns white and never loads the app interface. Please look into this as I am forced to use the website versus the app for payments, etc.
It won’t let me turn my heat/air on or off 😭it just lags and does the circle of death. It’s frustrating. It does the same online. I’ve deleted and redownloaded the app. Ughhhh😩🤬
I don’t like the new update. It continues to log you completely out and you have to always key in your credentials every time you login, there’s no Face ID biometrics option.
App looks cool but a few bugs with the UI. When you submit a request, the icon showing it has been submitted and you take you back to maintenance doesn’t work and also didn’t have an X to leave the pop-up. Even when I click the Home Screen, i can’t leave the pop-up. I have to restart the application. Other than that, I can adjust my thermostat, unlock my door, and submit requests just fine.
The app was great at first and I loved it, but now it’s completely useless to me. When I try to log in, it just loads for a second and then takes me back to a screen that says “session expired, login again” over and over. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app and that did nothing. And it’s not my login info, I can login to the mobile site using the same login just fine. Also, I tried submitting a maintenance request through the app and it said it was submitted, but never showed up in my submitted requests and no one ever showed up. We ended up just fixing the problem ourselves.
App does not work properly for adjusting the thermostat. I opened the app and lowered the heat, and the app set the heat HIGHER. I tried again, and it set it even higher the next time. I have a screen recording of it deciding that my home should be 89 degrees instead of 72. Why did you try to fix something that wasn’t broken? The website was wonderful before, but now after the app, nothing works.
The default to the thermostat on the app shouldn’t be 32°. It should be 60 nobody sets their thermostat at 32 or 40 or 55 for that matter. Please fix it.
This app only allow me to pay rent. I am paying fees for something I can not access (smart home) and can’t get any help in doing so. It’s also virtually impossible.to contact anyone about having the fees removed. I wish I could give a negative star instead of one.
Can’t even get into the app because it just sits there and loads and never opens tried redownloading the app but nothing works need to change my door code but can’t access my login super frustrating useless app
Will not accept the login information that I currently use to login on the Tricon website. I changed my login information in the app and it still doesn’t work!! Request that I allow the app to use “pegacloud.net” which I’m not sure what it’s referring to, but even after I select continue, my login isn’t recognized.
