I have been a member of UKFCU since 1995, they have been helping me tremendously from building my credit to do banking. They are helpful to me as a member. They stay beside me when I need them and I am very grateful to their excellent service of banking and their loyalty to their members. I have several accounts in different banks but UKFCU is always my number one bank and my primary bank.
I've had this bank and app for years. They added the mobile deposit option a while back. I've never used it because I live so close to the branch. But today I desperately needed to use the Mobile Deposit. I even counted on, remembering "oh yeah I can deposit the check through my phone". Because my girlfriend has Chase and she used the feature of mobile deposit on hers, so I thought I'd do the same. Nope. Never expect this bank to have anything that works properly. It just says "your account is not eligible for this service". Why? No reason provided? I can't find anything anywhere that says why. So now I'm a bit screwed cause of this backwards bank. I can't tell you how many times I've not even been able to use my debit card on a Saturday at 2pm or a Wednesday at 6:30pm, not crazy times!! Because they have some problem with their systems and everything is down. Keeping my money from me. They don't understand that things like that CANNOT HAPPEN EVER. This is just another straw on the camel.
Edit: after noticing a small credit card balance increase without any charges posted or pending, I called customer service. They told me interest charges are no longer posted because they aren’t “transactions” and to find them I have to access a different page. This is yet another bad update to a terrible app. Customer service employees were great, and very helpful. I hope UKFCU brings back a good online banking experience soon. :( — The app keeps getting worse since the fall 2020 update. It’s slow and buggy, there are often notices about things that don’t work (like balance accuracy?!), user friendliness is terrible, and it forces browser use for certain things we used to be able to do on the app, like making a credit card payment. It’s so slow I often can’t scroll on a page, which makes accessibility useless.
The new 2020 app is just like accessing the Credit Union from the web. The app no longer has the useful feature of seeing balances at a glance. Sad that is missing. Honestly, I don’t see the point in even having an app if it’s identical to using the webpage. Finally, the alert system is sorely lacking. Lots of options which is nice but the ONE feature they dropped is one I used all the time. I used to get an alert every time money was deposited or withdrawn from my checking account WITH the amount of the money and where it came from or was going. Now, all you get with an alert is that something happened. That is of very little use. It requires you to go to the site to find out all the details. Hardly of any value at all, so I cancelled the alert. Sometimes change isn’t for the better. I hope my comments help improve the app and site rather than being received as just a complaint.
Between being able to make transfers to my UKFCU and other bank accounts and being about to view my other accounts through my UKFCU online banking, I think I’ve found my one stop shop! The last app worked well, but you can do a lot more with this one. Pay bills, message support, deposit checks. Setting the bar high UKFCU!
I keep my debit card deactivated through the app and many times I need to turn it on it’s not available to turn on. What causes this issue I don’t know but it’s a big inconvenience and been happening for years.
The app was SO easy to use and had everything you needed for quick access tools. The most recent update is extremely confusing and doesn’t even work. The credit card payment has been down for a month, you have to register your card to pay it??? That makes no sense considering I’ve had it for years. It’s a crap app now and makes me want to switch banks, I know that’s such a small reason to switch but I need quick access with simple ways to pay my bills.
This app is terrible. It constantly flashes promotional ads when you navigate through different sections, regardless of having closed the ads countless times. It’s so annoying, I would rather pay up to $5 to make them go away forever. The app is also very basic and could really use a redesign. It doesn’t show the nicknames I’ve given to my accounts, it doesn’t let me rearrange the list order of my accounts, and the settings section leaves quite a bit to be desired. It’s not an enjoyable user experience.
For starters, nothing you need to find is in a logical place, so much so that the banner constantly has to reference where to find what you need. Secondly, the bill pay went from being easy to use, to practically unusable. There are way more design flaws than positives (mobile deposit is a positive). Again, I love UK Credit Union and have been with them for over 30 years and plan to stay with them to do all my banking, but hope they get the app to be more user-friendly.
It works most of the time. I don’t like how the view of my credit balance is now how much I have available to spend towards my limit instead of how much I need to pay off. The app didn’t used to show the balance that way, but recently changed it. I don’t have any other apps that display the view that way. I also think it’s limited in other functionalities, but hopefully they will continue to update and improve.
Most people anticipate apps changing for the better, but not so with this one! Functions such a mobile deposit time out or simply don’t work, and very often the home screen loads insanely slow. While the security is likely better, and the interface is user friendly, I can’t get too excited about an app that is going to ultimately send me to the bank to sort out the mobile deposit issue.
Really enjoying this new app. The look and feel is much nicer. Navigation is easy. The app is very responsive and I like all of the options for making transfers. I use the online baking website as well and the user experience is the same across the app and the online version. Really nice!
Get rid of the ads and update for newer iPhone screens.
This app use to be great before they added their ads for services. Now it’s just annoying that they keep popping up after I’ve already dismissed them. Or at least move them to the bottom of the pages. They also need to update for iPhone screens with the notch at the top and extra space at the bottom.
I would have given the previous version of this app 5/5 stars. It was awesome! Easily able to transfer between personal checking, savings, and business accounts as well as mobile deposits. Super easy! Since the update, nothing but trouble. Hopefully they get it fixed. If not, I will be switching banks. I moved out of Lexington to Louisville where there is no UKFCU so I rely 100% on mobile banking and I’ve been a member of this bank for over 20 years.
I was really hopeful that the new app would have more features than the old one. Turns out it has fewer. Quick balance is gone. I have to actually login each time I want to see my balance. Also, I used to be able to transfer money within the app to pay my ukfcu credit card. I can’t find that feature if it’s there. I’m not even sure how to pay my credit card now. Overall I’m not happy with the new app.
Every single time I attempt to login from one of my devices even though I have the correct password it tells me it’s not and I must reset it with another pin and it sends me another verification. I have called customer service multiple times they have even logged on to see my account and see that I’m entering it correctly and it never changes. This app is so frustrating it’s not even worth it if I could give it zero stars I would.
Instead of making things more streamline, the new app has so many bugs that need to be fixed. There is NOTHING to be wow’d about the new app. Took two HUGE steps back. The only thing you can do is see all your accounts in one place. You CANNOT make transfers. You CANNOT pay bill. You CANNOT stop payment. You CAONOT get hold of someone on the phone that can help. The entire call center are reading instructions from a book...almost makes it seem like human robots, because it’s a live person answering the phone but reading it out of text someone else wrote. Looking to close my accounts later this afternoon. Thanks for the last 15 years of service UKFCU!
First, I will say I love banking with the UK Federal Credit Union. The staff is always so friendly and helpful. However, this app doesn’t work over half of the time I try using which gets frustrating when I do all of my other banking on my phone but I still have to log into a computer to do any online banking.
They closed the old website and forced us to use this awful mess. The access to my information is almost nonexistent. I used to be able to see what payments were due and when. I went to wireless billing on almost all of my bills, non of that old payment information transfered over. I really like UKFCU but I think this app is the reason I’ll take my money somewhere else.
This new app is much less user friendly than the old one. There’s no longer an option to deposit a check via the app, nor, it appears, can you transfer funds between accounts any longer. I don’t live close to an ATM for this bank, and with these inconveniences, I may have to think about switching banks.
The bank is wonderful! The new app is awful. I have called and sent screenshots about the section I don’t even have. That section is bill pay. That’s a pretty important section. No body seems to be able to help. Somebody said I was supposed to have a call back. That has yet to happen and my app has not been fixed. This is not a user friendly app at all.
This app doesn’t seem to work with the new iPhones. I have an XR, and this app just twitches around on the login screen and won’t let me sign on. Eventually I was locked out of my account, but only on the mobile app. Now I can’t find a way to pay my credit card off on the actual website. I’m pretty sure this bank’s tech is designed by a 60-year-old using Windows 95.
The web site used to have a transaction register feature
Before the upgrade there was a transaction register feature that was immensely helpful with tracking and keeping bills and monies separated. I want that feature back.
This used to be a fairly user friendly, easy to use app. Since the latest upgrade it is awful. The graphics bounce around on the page and the icons don’t respond to touch. I have to go on my computer to do any only transactions. Not worth even having a mobile app.
I have tried multiple times to utilize the app, however it locks me out randomly and then have to call to reset. I have yet to use this app successfully. Poor design and the security is horrible also... back to using the online interface at least that doesn't lock me out.
I love this app and use it daily. However, since the update I can no longer locate the quick balance feature and to me that is a must!!!! Bring it back please!!!!!
Last year, I was able to look at a years worth of transaction history. NOw, I can only go back 6 months. I would like to be able to have my complete transaction history if I ever need it.
Not sure why the bank switched to this app. It’s horrible. It takes at least five tries to make a deposit. It’s almost impossible to scroll through transactions. Right now the last thing we need is something to frustrate us even more!
I have happily banked with UKFCU for 25 years but this app is driving me crazy. For some reason the app closes every time I try to make a deposit. This was one of the best features of the app. They really need to fix the bugs or find a new app.
Many of the features simply don’t work one that stands out is deposit which simply doesn’t work. Also it would be nice to see account numbers more appropriately.
Got locked out for 1 missed password. I was able to sign in on the browser within the app. When I got back to the sign in page, I get an account locked error. I'm currently logged in (inside the app) yet I can't login through the app? High quality!
