I’ve really liked that they’ve made their platform so easy to use and readily to distribute music to all the major platforms without jumping through hoops or any underlying incentive and inconveniences that are brought to a lot of artist these days in the shape of false promises and hidden agendas. The concept of owning your music and reaping majority of the financial compensation is a dream for a lot of independent artist that UnitedMasters have fundamentally mastered. I love what Steve Stout is doing for the fast paced and streaming oriented music landscape. Independent artist substantially have more freedom and the access to major streaming platforms. UnitedMasters is not the wave. It’s the future of independence and distribution. 5 out of 5
Stay far away if you actually care about your music. UnitedMasters try’s to seem like they’re open to helping smaller artists when they actually are just out to scam you and take your money. Please read the reviews on the BBB website and there is a Reddit page that multiple artist write on how UnitedMasters scams them. They like to penalize you based on their google analytics. Employees have stated themselves that they USE GOOGLE ANALYTICS for streaming history. UnitedMasters will take down your music with a quickness if you start gaining traction within the community because to them it’s “inorganic” when it’s not and I put the effort to put myself out there. You have others who are literally buying streams that are not organic but yet UnitedMasters will pay those out! I’ve argued with them, provided them with factual evidence that my streams are organic but they don’t care. It’s happened multiple times and I’ve provided evidence every time just for them to apologize and reinstate my music because they know they’re wrong! This time they didn’t care what evidence I provided and sent me on my way. They took the money I earned this month and my yearly SELECT subscription that I didn’t get to use the whole year because their “google analytics and intuition” was false.
As an independent artist. I’ve been distributing my music on this app for 3 years on certain streaming plats and got a lot of plays/streams from it too. What upsets me a lot is that for all these years united-masters was supposed to be a free distributor and they took that away from us. And now if you don’t switch to select (aka premium) they can and will remove all your music without paying you. They still owe me $2K dollars. Their service is so terrible and wack. I’ve never been this mad in my life and i don’t want any other artist to go through this. I have completely switched distributors and i’m never using unitedmasters again and i definitely would not recommend anybody else to. If you are an artist especially an upcoming one please use distrokid, amuse, or something! Any distributor that’s not unitedmasters because they do not care about their artist, they are just money hungry and they are scammers. They are making us pay $60 for a plan when there’s literally other distributors that provide you plans for like 25-30 dollars. And way better than this crap
I would give United Masters a lower review if I could. I was just double charged for being a “Select Artist”, after I reached out to Support over a week ago to tell them that their billing info was incorrect. Earlier this year I tried releasing a cover record, and was instantly denied by the website for using an artists name in the Writers section that wasn’t my own. Their support team is absolutely dreadful. Half of my EP wasn’t distributed to Facebook’s audio library. When I asked them redistribute in an email, someone reached out to me two weeks later and said the EP would get released to FB; it hasn’t. They rely on a glitzy social media page, and “partnerships” that really do nothing for artists to encourage new sign ups. However the actual support artists get is dreadful. Despite being a “Select” artist, my billing is still incorrect, and I’m still getting 80/20 and 90/10 splits on my royalties. This month, my royalties from major DSP’s weren’t even reported. Just absolutely miserable. Choose an actual distributor.
Im on a free trial but tmr it runs out. Now paying 60dollars to me isn't a problem thats little money especially when ik im good enough to make that bakk. The main problem i have is where united masters genuineness ,i think they would genuinely Screw me over. For example why would i wait 45-60 days to get paid after all that time just for you guys to potentially hold my money without ever letting me even see how much i been making FOR 45-60days that is extremely waxk and scam like. I seen so many threads of artist who aren’t even big and did everything right which is get their MUSIC played and united masters just finesses them for their payout with them ever touching it and paying 60 dollars essentially for nothing. So yeah is it worth it? im not thinking so there’s no real love nor transparency here just wait 2 months to possible have wasted valuable time u kan spend at another distributor.
I don’t think UnitedMasters is really who they say they are! This is stupid I have only 6 songs released 3 of my pending releases or pending songs were supposed to be released a couple of days ago, can you imagine It’s still there and they’re still claiming they’re going to release it on the release date which was 3 days ago this is totally madness you’re bringing me down instead of lifting me up. You guys made me lied to my fan base and then all the people who follow my music I gave them the song title and the date my songs was going to released so that they could stream when it’s available now I have more than two thousand plus messages every one is complaining I’m not a true artist and I don’t respect my fans. I had hope when I first met UnitedMasters but now I’ve lost all hope and trust because for what you’ve done gives me a clear example that you won’t even DELIVER MY ROYALTIES!!!!!! I gotta find a better distributor
They tell you that you have so much control over your music. The only thing good about them is that you can upload music on the go, but everything else is horrible. If you not a major artist or company they will give you the run around. First, if you have any problem with anything the only way to contact them is through email(which it take them 1-2 weeks to email you back). No number to talk to anyone. Second, as soon as I signed up for the “Select Artist” my account got hack and changed all my information. Third (most important) when it’s time to collect your earnings they tell you. They will deposit it to your PayPal(the only payment option) in 45 days after you earn $45 I been having more then that 4 months ago and still haven’t gotten paid. I wish I could give them no stars

As an artist you should not have to work this hard and do their job for them. First I had issues with cover art. After paying to have a graphic cover for my single tell me why United masters uploaded my song to someone elses platform. Mind you I’m still in my 2 week free trial and this experience so far has been awful and a joke. They have managed to ruin something so important to me. The craziest part is that they ask you if you already have an apple account & gives you the option to connect it. But I clicked the option stating I did not have an apple account and they still uploaded my song to someone else’s Apple Music . I wouldn’t suggest this app to a soul. They never even send you a link that contains the link to your “new account” they never created.
Let’s start with customer service. You will never get a response to your email. So if you have a problem, the problem may or may not be resolved and you will never receive a response to a solution. Taking down music, they make it look easy but there are still a few glitches with this interface. You can confirm take down but music would still be live and they do not instruct on how long it’s going to take for music to be taken down. Earnings Dashboard doesn’t really provide a break down of how many plays you are getting paid for. They just give you a dollar amount and say this is what you made. This make me feel real uncomfortable and I feel like they can steal our money without us having documentation to prove it. So if you earned $1000, they can give you $500 and you can’t even determine if this amount is correct or not due to the lack of statistics. They will also delete your earnings dashboard. Great concept, but this app and company wasn’t ready for the workload. They either need more staff or figure out a better system that will make this idea the game changer that they are aiming for.
Had the app for a couple weeks now and one of my songs is about to get released and the process was simple ! But now that it’s being released I’d like to pitch it to their list of brands they offer which is the main reason I got this app and I’m unable to do this because a step of adding Facebook and IG as an option stops me from completing the process of submitting. I’ve try numerous times on my phone and on my computer and I can’t seem to connect Facebook and IG to so I can finish the process because an error pops up everytime. This is app is the best app for you the be able to distribute music. But I do have some issues with it. I made some mixtapes and I put a track at the beginning of each of me talking and welcoming them the mixtape. They approved one of them but all the others were declined due to “snippets” for the first tracks of each mixtape. So I emailed them about them declined like 5 or 6 but approving one. They never emailed be back about that. But the email back all the time about other stuff. The only times they have never got back to me was when this happened and when they put my music under the wrong artist profile and the name was also spelled incorrectly. Other than these issues I haven’t had any problems.
There was a point in time where I recommended united masters to everybody, I knew who wanted to make music because they let you do so much without needing to pay, but recently they got rid of the option to choose your own release date, I sent in a request three years ago to be able to distribute music videos never got returned, I’ve had projects sent back to me because a Coverart, which was the song title with a picture of a butterfly that i drew. I think it is amazing when you have Select but outside of that when you’re actually upcoming and don’t have the money for Select it basically puts you at the bottom of their relevancy list
I uploaded my first EP on united masters a month in advance a month later it was approved for delivery but on the target date my music was not released, I've sent more than 5 emails asking why and what’s wrong because they haven’t flagged it for any error but I can’t get any response from email & they don't offer a #, this I disappointing as hell , my fans and followers have been stalled out and waiting since Feb 14th and today is March 11th ... you do the math , im still waiting! & Oh yeah, they won’t allow my project to be deleted for 90days so that i can release under a new distribution company , in other words they won’t DROP MY MUSIC ! I feel like I'm stuck in a deal with a major label & they’re holding me back! Please don’t use United Masters if you're a serious artist, they’re not a serious business!
I started using UM in 2020 it was cool I was excited but I’m really considering releasing my new music w/ someone else because, UM has not been giving me all of my streams I wasn’t hip at first because my numbers was rising but as I started seeing I was getting thousands of views on Social Media and they are not being accounted for it’s really upsetting me I am very slow to anger but when it comes to my music and what I create I want my revenue I’m tired of these apps keep shorting me not just them but these app developers playing in my face I had more streams in 3 hours on Instagram than I did in a few days on Apple so how is it I made more money from Apple streams this is absurd Sincerely, Toni1luv ✝️♥️
I’m giving you guys two stars because in the beginning of when I first discovered the app made an account was dropping music. Everything was going smoothly. The app is very buggy. It barely loads. It has pop-up errors and none of my stuff is loading half the time none of my stuff, barely even gets uploaded, also I wish I was making a little more money. I’m at 5 million streams and I have a great following base just all around. I think you guys need to do a little bit more with the app and start paying people a little more not just based off the streams, but based off on how many albums and singles we dropped
The app is ok the only problem I have is not the app but with the limited platforms they distribute to. They don’t distribute to Pandora nor Tik Tok just to name a few so you can’t maximize your songs fullest potential. Also it would be nice if they offered sync opportunities for tv & movies like songtrust does. It’ll be nice to be able to add a music video for video distribution. I could go on with the features that should be added to make this a complete solution for independent artists. I also seen a handful of part time artists use this app with a horrible mix & you guys still submitted it to the various platforms. Where’s the quality control?
First let me start by saying , they’re quick to flag your account for whatever reason, but it has now been 3/4 weeks since anyone has been a able to tell me anything other than it’s been pushed to priority status. The only way to contact them is through email. No contact number. What happened to all the great things and advertisements I was hearing and seeing about this platform? Their performance does not live up to expectations I thought I was going to receive. Their good at gassing you up to believe the hype I guess if you go for that type of thing this is the place for you.👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾
The only thing UM is good at is marketing their product and getting your music posted. From there on if you have any issues such as your account getting hacked (happened to me) your music being taken down with no explanation (happened to me) issues with merging your previous artist profile with an updated one (happened to me) and any other issues—guess what? Their customer service will absolutely abandon you only to message you back 5-6 months later asking if your issue got resolved. I’m moving to distrokid where I used to never have these issues. Highly do not recommend.
So far I like using United Masters as a distributor but my only issue is the customer service and the inability of us, the users to takedown songs when want, on our end without having to go through customer support and waiting for a response to issue takedowns of a specific song or project. Distrokid allows it’s user to issue takedowns on our end which makes things convenient for us the artists. So the only issue here is that United Masters should add a bit more convenience for its users, specifically for issuing takedowns. If they can improve on this I won’t even consider going back to Distrokid.
The app is very user friendly! Makes keeping up with your stats while on the go very EASY! I’ve noticed a couple of things while working with United Masters that do need to be fixed though. I’ve not ever been able to link all of my socials and lately the map feature isn’t updating. I had a release about 8 days ago and I’m seeing all the streams, but not the new tracks on the insights page. If ya wanna check it out , it’s called Trippin’ by KLIZ ♥️ Think you’ll love it 💓🫂
There should really be an option on here for artists to do multiple uploads , most musicians I know are Involved in many bands not just one , plus in this day and age it’s a time of technology Allowing us to be independent , no one needs a record label anymore when we have things like United to help us . You can manage your own career right off your phone . It’s a beautiful thing , You guys have done a great thing here , please consider adding a feature like this .
I found UnitedMasters when my friend tagged me in a post about it on TikTok, and I’ve been wanting to release my album for a long time and I finally found out how to do it. I submitted my album and within 3 days I got an email saying it was going to be released in just 7 days. I’ve tried other distributors and no one does it nearly as fast as UnitedMasters. I’ve literally released 2 songs in the span of 9 days and I’m going to release a new album on April 3rd
So y’all just gonna delete my years of work because I won’t pay for your premium? Yeah I’m good. Y’all have been slowly taking features away from freemium subs for the longest, guess now it’s officially gone. I’ll be switching distributors. They have a copy and paste response they use to reply to reviews like mine that claim this is to help new artists find their footing, which is why it’s called the debut plan. That being said people with years of music released already are NOT new artists. You are FORCING us to either A:pay for your subscription service after years of it being free. Orrrrrr we just switch distribution services.
I love the app but the numbers aren’t always accurate. For a month my streams stayed exactly the same on the app but on the main website were updated. Even not my streams for all time don’t match and not a single one of my master links work at all. Non of them are fully linked or operational. But via desktop I can find them. Shrug great app tho also highly irritating that every time a bug is fixed I find a new issue
I loved this app until that new free plan for none select artist where the only have your music on Socials media platforms that’s corny y’all need to put it back for even for free artist thats not far to us come on for real why treat us like that and y’all making 10% but for the artist that y’all ain’t making no money from they get everything that don’t even sound right
its a really amazing app but when I try to make a new release it’s not letting me and why do i have to connect to my paypal i don’t even have paypal so im confused and when you copy link to pre-save the song it gives you the option to play the song while pre-saving like what’s the point of allowing us to pre-save the song if your just gonna play it? so yea that’s what i don’t like about the app
I’ve been using the app for a while and it logged me out like months ago and hasn’t let me log in since. It says “401 error” or something like that and refuses to work. I’ve uninstalled the app reinstalled it, restarted my phone, and just left the app alone to see if it will fix itself. I’m just now making a statement about this due to me releasing something and wanting to see the statistics on the app, get back to me soon please. An “option” is to clear the app cache but you can’t do that on iOS at least for me.

But just a few things that need to be fixed there are so many requirements to release her music to the world second they don’t clarify if it’s being released by you or Nam do you like on your Facebook do you physically post on your Facebook or do they posted on their Facebook this is so confusing and that’s why they’re not getting five stars I would give it a 4.8 out of five
After being a loyal client for years and having a ton of music up. Due to money grubbing CEO’s. I’m now being told if I don’t give this company more many, all my work will be taken down! I am FURIOUS! Mind you, the customer service is awful and took me over a month to get a release off of another artists profile and on mine, the services they offer pale in comparison to Distrokid and they have the nerve to ask people to pay more for the premium? The whole reason people used United masters was because it was reliable and free. A whole game changer. Now I’m scrambling to see how this will affect me and my fan base and how to fix it.
I can’t take down my release rn I used to be able to but it’s always been kinda funny I can’t even see the text properly to take down the release, and it’s having service issues hope this gets fixed soon I only re-recorded some new tracks and uploaded a new version of the album two days later than planned but it won’t lemme take up the other version with a lot of throwaway tracks
I don’t recommend this app at all, let alone buying a subscription.
I got the premium subscription and nothing for it, my songs keep getting flagged for copyright even though they’re original and I’m not using any copyrighted content. My artwork keeps getting denied even though they’re crystal clear and show the text and everything. It takes so long for them to review your songs just to deny it, and even with a premium subscription, it feels like you still have to release your song 2 weeks later because when I select the same date my songs don’t get accepted. This app will not feel welcoming to you, use some other distributor.
The United Masters app is not only appealing but easy to use! It’s overall upload to distribute feature makes it easy to release tracks any and everywhere and keep up with my independent grind including my social media stats just like the web platform! What I like most is the ability to chat with support directly and submit to exclusive offers from my cell phone.
i’m very upset because you guys updated the app to where you can’t release a sampled track or track with audio that goes with the certain songs that I want to release. just last year I released a song with a “tokyo drift” sample and had no issues. i’d really wish the app goes back to how it was because it cost me to push back my project. on top of that, you guys wait until the next day to tell me to fix an issue instead of telling me all the issues the day of. I really like united masters but it’s slowly making me want to change music distribution applications
Ima give it a 3 because it’s cool and all you can put your music up “everywhere” which is a lie. And then once you miss a payment they take all your music down off a lot of platforms that you would happen to get a lot of revenue/attention with. TikTok, Facebook, and instagram had my songs up there where I could add it to a story or something but now it’s like they don’t even know who i am trying to search “whoniethegreatest” nothing pops up.. soo what’s really going on?
it’s horrible it’s like your a slave they won’t let you have your cover art that you created and they only let you put clean songs on there and you only get 90% of your royalties and only let you steam on 4 different platforms but you have to buy 100% royalties for $60 and then you get all your royalties and they pay you nothing don’t use United masters I’m going to switch to tune core and I will make sure to tell people about your horrible Service and it’s like being a slave they pay you nothing for your songs because they make profit off of it .
Going back to my old distributor. They send you back to edit. You edit. You pay for the dolby masters? To bad need to pay for it again and again. For each edit they find and want you to correct. Its a appealing app. But its a money sucker. Gets suckers like me who just want to do things how i want. Im an artist. My album name cant be the same as my artist name? Come on. Way to strict with the clean tracks too. I didn’t have any of these issues with my old distributor, so I'm going back to them.
I really like how easy and simple it is to distribute music through the UnitedMasters Platform. The only drawback is the 10% royalty that they take. I’m still waiting to see these branding and other opportunities they keep promoting. I released my son Taesounds song called Sidelines, and they are usually pretty good with the streaming numbers. Don’t forget to search for my Son, Taesounds, and stream his music.
I think this app is a great idea and a good way to get music on streaming platforms, but I make beats and have tried putting an EP out with just some of my beats and every time I submit that EP I get an email saying it was flagged for containing unlicensed samples. I made sure when selecting beats for this EP non of them had samples and they were all my work, it’s really frustrating especially when they don’t email back or it takes a day or 2 to review your music for upload.
I’ve been using UnitedMasters ever since it first came out. It seems as if they have gotten Money hungry now days. I just got an email telling me basically either pay the 60 dollars or they’ll delete all my music. I’ve spent years making music and some of the tracks I have on Apple Music I don’t have access to the files anymore. Then they said that your music will only be released on tik tok and instagram. I will be switching over to Distrokid soon. I used to live UnitedMasters but this right here… it’s not it.
I was making an account on my phone and went through the process of doing it. After putting in all my details it asked me for my artist name. I did not put one in but got a text while i was on the app. I exited the app and now have been unable to use it. It will not let me finish making my account and when I tried to log in I got a 401 error. I also tried making a new account again but it said my account had already been made. I was even able to change my password but it still kept saying error 401.
every single one of my releases shows up incorrectly ONLY on apple music EVERY single time. they even managed to mess up my latest song “D I A M O N D S” by putting “D I a M O N D S” they will always find a way to mess ur release so that u look like ur stuffs not together on the day of ur release. but they dont care. they just send u the same copy and pasted message and fix it in 3-5 days. NEVER can they just have it right the first time, because thats asking too much. UNITED MASTERS DO BETTER, and stop lying like yall actually care about indie releases , cause ur actions shiw that you clearly dont care.
So I paid the fee to become a select artist twice now, and it went through both times. However, it still doesnt register on my profile. It won’t let me keep 100% of my royalties be of this, I can’t participate in any of the select artist exclusives, and I can’t drop any more than one song a month because of this. I’ve paid over $120!! For nothing! I have faith in this app if they would just fix this problem everything would be perfect!
This app so far has worked great for me and nothing has gone wrong. All my songs get where I want on the right time. But they don’t respond to emails! I emailed them once in the past and they responded but after that my other 5 attempts at emailing them have shown no response. And that’s the only way you can contact them. So if they don’t respond to your email, you’re completely in the dark on what to do.

First off, let me say, this app is great for beginners like myself. My friend put me on United Masters after she heard my song. I love the app, it’s very easy to use. On the support side, I’ve contacted them in regards to my artist name. Although I understand the difficulty I have to go though to change it... I’ve contacted support almost two weeks ago and I haven’t received an email. Can someone please reach out to me, soon? Thank you for your services! 🙏🏽✨
They submitted my release under the wrong artist profile - so I had to send 4 emails to even get a response for them to respond to the issue. 10 emails and 2 weeks later - they moved my release to another incorrect artist profile. Now I’m patient enough to reach back out and fix the issue but I was very clear and provided more than enough information to have them fix the issue the first time. Really unfortunate because I had already upgraded to the United Masters Select plan for $60 and was really looking forward to using the service in the future.
The app is great been using it for a little more than a year now. One of the only issues I have with it over other companies is the stupid fifty-dollar threshold if you are not a select artist. The fact I can cash out instantly if I was a select artist is a turn-off for me. Overall it's a great application but the threshold is a problem for me considering how much you get with select already.
This is a horrible service to use for music distributors. I’ve uploaded my 9 song EP on this service May 2023 and it never got approved until June 26, 2023 to be published on July 16, 2023, now within all of that waiting it is July 18. And still I could find my music and nowhere on any platform but yet united master says my music is live. This is a very horrible and disgusting service to use if you want to waste time searching for help that you will not get. I have no more time searching for my music to be uploaded after 3 month’s waiting.
I feel like y’all need to update y’all page and change that review that been sitting there for 2 years, the promotion is alllll wrong, at least let people know we have to literally pay yall 60$ a year just so we can drop something under 10 days and then not even just that if it’s “blurry” it’s sent back so can y’all please fix something about y’all company, I understand y’all trying to get money or w.e but don’t be surprised when y’all ratings go down for something like this - Artist 🤦🏾♂️
