This is the type of company that gives you a tiny 13-gallon trashcan to use for their trash service with a long list of unnecessary rules, then they will not consistently show up for their scheduled trash pickup dates even though the app says they will, and then they will leave a note on your door and refuse trash pickup because trash is piling up and won’t fit in the tiny trashcan they provide, and then they will bill you for the trash service and expect full payment.
The app crashes upon opening and is entirely unusable and broken. The service is unreliable, I have put my trash in the can provided and closed the lid to keep bugs out, and it frequently gets missed if I do so, even picking up a bag next to the full can. So I get to have flies near my front door, or days old trash stinking near my front door. The times are inconsistent with trash being picked up as early as 8pm and as late as after midnight. Services frequently get canceled for the night before my complex is reached. Workers seem to have the ability to arbitrarily decide not to pick up the trash and leave notes with untrue reasons (claimed waste was not double bagged, claimed a bag was leaking that wasn't, claimed a bag was torn) would not recommend the service or the app
The app has notified me 30 times in the last 3 hours that my service is about to begin. I saw that they actually finished over 3 hours ago and are long gone. But the app keeps telling me it’s about to begin. The service is also terrible. They don’t always pick up the garbage. I will see them in my complex, but then they will skip some buildings. They make excuses like a little bit of rain to cancel for a day. But they will still charge you for service even when they don’t live up to their end. The instructions clearing say that if you have more than one bag, you can stack the second one on top. But then they will only just take the one. This company is making a lot of money for not doing the work they say they will.
The information provided by the app is extremely slow. Like it might notify you that trash pick up is getting ready to start but the notification is many many hours late and it was completed that morning. So the notifications are pretty much worthless most of the time. if you don’t login for a few weeks, it will log you out and it may not let you back in. That happened to me and it would not take that. I was pretty sure it was correct. The reset password option does not always work either. In fact, it usually does not work. Their customer service is just about as reliable as their trash pick up if that gives you any idea. 😉
This service is useless and so is the app. The fact that it is required by my complex to pay for this valet trash monthly is infuriating. The app notifications are always wrong from the actual service. The service is not consistent which means raccoons can freely make a mess of my container. It takes more effort to keep an eye out for the valet service and animals than for me to take it to the dumpster less than 200 yards away. But now-a-days complexes try to squeeze money from their tenants for things that used to be provided, like city trash. I will not move anywhere else again that this service is required, not optional.
I used to find this app really helpful to remind me to put out my trash. But now, despite having push notifications turned on, I am NEVER getting reminded about any step in trash pickup. I have noticed that every single time I open the app, it seems to be signing me in. So maybe the problem is that it’s auto-logging me out all the time so I’m not getting the notifications?? They really need to fix this though, because it’s otherwise rendered the app useless.
App works just ok for a short while before being unusable
You sign up with an account and get to use it for a month or two. Then you get signed out automatically. If you forgot your password then you're screwed. There is no option to set a new password when you progress through the forget password steps, even after email verification is completed. So you only get to use the app one time.
I no longer receive push notifications which is extremely frustrating, as the trash service is inconsistent and I rely on the notifications so that I can get my trash picked up. Please fix this issue! Push notifications are on so I don’t understand why they aren’t working !
Held captive by Valet Living for 5 years. Cannot get help through the app and any response basically is ‘IF we feel it’s important we will decide to get back to you’. Nobody ever has. No idea if it’s the app or people or both. Bad attitudes on employees at location so I’ll go with both. Main downside to living at the building is you can’t opt out so Valet Living doesn’t care and certainly has no incentive to fix anything to do with their app. Just awful.
I am experiencing the same problem with not receiving any alerts even though all of my settings are on. Now, I have deleted the Valet Living App and will download it again to see if this fixes the problem.
Y’all need to get people who know how to build an app. It’s impossible to sign in. Like how do you not even know how to operate basic functions? And you try to log in, but you can’t. The window opens and closes over and over, literally impossible to use. What a waste Update: app STILL is unusable. Ridiculous.
Was a Good App Until My Login Credentials Deleted Without Authorization
This app used to be decent. Until a recent update that basically deleted my login credentials that are saved to my phone. Now the app wants me to create a new account? Why? So there’s more data to sell? Add very late trash pickups, just not worth the effort.
I put the trash out on Tuesday. Today the trash still out there. But they never fail to charge on time and increase the price every time they feel like it.
Awful service with lazy employees and nobody does anything but tell you they will escalate the issue. It’s resolved for a week then back at it. Amazes me that grown men can’t do their job and can’t carry a box down the stairs.
The garbage app is literally garbage. I entered correct entries for prompts and keeps telling me “Submit Failed, Bad Request”. I deleted the app and reinstalled it. Same problem, and there is no one to call for support.
I recently moved into an apartment complex in the Phoenix Metropolitan Area which utilizes Valet Living. After consulting prior reviews through the App Store and Google, I can confirm the inconsistency experienced with the Valet Trash service. Despite a set collection schedule of Sunday through Thursday, one never knows when collection is fulfilled. Thus far, our collection service is missed at least twice a week, with the most coming in at 4 days in a row. Additionally, the quantity of trash bags collected differs. The trash receptacle provided by Valet Living holds 2 13 gallon trash bags. Depending on the service day, sometimes both bags are collected while, at other times, only one bag is collected (despite the bags conforming to collection standards). Further, the app also has inconsistent functionality. At times, the app itself works perfectly. However, it frequently freezes and crashes. Lastly, the service notifications rarely work. I have them set to notify me prior to collection commencing, as collection begins, and when collection is finished. Not once have each of these notifications consistently been delivered. In closing, this service has so much potential, but the service and app inconsistencies render this service nearly useless. What a shame.
I also have gad my garbage left 4 times since March. Have lived here 4 years and never had problems until an older gentleman left and was replaced with a young kid who is always on his phone. I live on the 3rd flr. So when residents from the ground and second floor has their garbage removed but mine isn’t its pretty to discern that the worker was just too lazy to come all the way up. Then a Justin Meisels who is the manager for the area I live in told me a month ago to contact him if there were any further issues. Well this past Sunday it was left again so I left a phone message and 2 emails. No response. That is very unprofessional to say the least. When you pay for a service and the product is not delivered than that amounts to stealing-plain and simple
My trash has not been picked up for multiple days, This is the 3rd time this has happened in the last 3 months and I am upset. My apartment complex forced this service onto us without asking if we wanted it, which I don’t. So I’m forced to pay $30 a month for this service that isn’t even being performed. They ignore my trash and let it sit in the bin for days. The smell gets so bad I have to take the trash to the dumpster myself. They’re basically getting free money which is absurd and we can’t even opt out of this service. In my experience, they don’t perform this service therefore it’s a waste of money. And given the large inconsistency I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone.
We are forced to pay for this service and is never fulfilled
We are forced to pay for this service monthly and regardless they always miss to pick up the trash, or made a mess and toss everting out. Today was the worst to the point I’m here writing this review. I tied my bags, put them inside the designated container, flattened boxes and place them exactly where they demand us to do so. Well, when I got home I found they took the bags and left the boxes thrown in the middle of the hallway. Out of 5 days a week I end up picking up their mess and having to throw the garbage myself just to avoid being disappointed. They provide a terrible service, sadly we are forced to pay for this otherwise I would have canceled from the 1st week I moved in
The app is basically completely meaningless and void of any real functionality. Every service day at 7PM it sends you a service notification saying your service has started, even on days they don’t bother to show up. You are also supposed to be able to request them to come back during service hours but the status in the app immediately goes from “service has started” to “service has completed” immediately at 7PM not allowing you to request that. 35/month for spotty service when the trash chute is around the corner.
My apartment just switched to this & it has to be the worst decision. Inconsistent pickups with barely any notification when they cancel. 1st week they didn’t pick up at all. Afterwards out of a 5 day service they’d only pick up twice. When I finally downloaded the app to keep track theyd show status in the pick up window for 2 days straight & still no service. Thankfully my apt refunded us for their worst months but the issue is still reoccurring. With all these terrible reviews I can’t understand why places still sign up with them.
Horrible app that has barely any actual functionality. Horrible service, lazy trash pickup workers. Our trashed is missed 1 out of every 5 times and even after complaining over and over to the area managers, it still just keeps happening. We are stuck paying for the service at our apartment complex but it is so unfair paying for something that isn’t even provided half the time. I see most other reviews here are saying the same things too, really sad that something as easy as picking up trash is so difficult to have run well.
We are required to use this trash service at our apartment complex. The hours of trash pick up are inconsistent. Sometimes they don’t even show up at all. They have regulations on the weight of trash they will accept, yet tonight they left behind a bag of trash that was about 3 pounds. This has happened several times over the 2 years we’ve lived here, requiring us to go out of our way and walk across the entire complex to the only dumpster. This is despite the fact that we are paying $$ for someone to do this service for us. Avoid this company at all costs.
Since this company took over in my neighborhood, they are inconsistent with picking up trash and pick and choose when to pick up trash. One day you guys will pick up both trash, then the next day, you will only take one. The trash you leave, always gets broken open by racoons and I’m the one to clean it up. I don’t understand why I’m paying for trash pick up when you guys never come on time nor pick up all of the trash. You leave a note on my door that makes no sense.
Love the Connect app. I am notified when trash collection is starting, as well as a last call alert. I can even request my trash to be picked up if I forget to put it out before collection starts. There’s a direct line for customer support and I can join live fitness and classes. Love the cooking classes!
This service is so bad that since our apartment complex switched to it a month and a half ago, we are looking to move. We have to pay $30 for the service and can’t opt out, they rarely pick up our trash when they’re supposed to, sometimes they will pick up some stuff but not others with no indication as to why, and the app is barely functional at best.
My pets love Valet Living Home! I was looking for cheap, reliable pet care opportunities and having this in my community has been huge. Everyone who visits my pups has been so friendly, and the app is easy to understand. Definitely recommend checking out!
This is a great app for residents! It sends an alert when trash collection starts, a warning when it’s about to end, and has a return feature if we forget to put it out before collection started. Love the virtual classes too!
Trash not picked up the same day cars were broken into.
Find it extremely convenient how this new supposed “fantastic service” marked trash was being “picked up” and stayed in the pickup status until well beyond 1:30am the same day that multiple cars were broken into. Thankfully my surveillance cameras picked up the malicious individuals. Interesting how they look similar to those who picked trash up days before.
You can’t actually use the app. It let my sign up but once you try to use it, it immediately crashes and closes out. I would love to use this app, plus there is a promotion going on with my apartment complex that rewards us for completing our profile, but looks like no one is gonna be able to do it...
