I have been a Red Cross volunteer for the past 8 years and they have been the best volunteer times of my life People at the North Texas Headquartes in DALLAS are the best people you can work with I especializad in Sound the Alarm Installations and it is something I really enjoy while Helping some of my volunteer students accumulate hours during their High School years to later one use when applying for scholarships for College education and establish a great relationship with the DALLAS Fire Department officers
I have volunteered for more than 30 years. For the last 12 years I have deployed and served as HS on a regular basis. I am the HS Lead for State of Louisiana. It has been my mission to give back, and forward, to our state and Nationally. I am supported locally by many loyal Red Cross leaders and employees. I hope to continue my service as long as I possibly can.
I love that I don’t have to sign in each time I open the app. Having VC on my phone allows me to do everything I would do on the web browser version - but from anywhere. My main complaint is that the layout doesn’t mimic the web version. I wish the option to log hours and get to some popular areas was accessible as soon as I logged into the app, instead of having the newsfeed there.
This App is the most difficult App I have ever used. Key functions are hard to find because the print size is minuscule, and once one gets to the right site, it freezes up and you’re left with an empty white page. One cannot just ask to go back, it is necessary to close the App and start over. The App also times you out all the time. Perhaps the developer never heard of an iPad or Apple products, and thus designed the App to only work on a PC. My suggestion to the developers is to return to the university and this time don’t cut classes.
I use the app all the time. I must have had an update last week while on vacation. Tonight while trying to log hours I got a double calendar for the date bar. Can’t get a date to stick and can’t manually input the info so logging hours is out. Also the app support center no longer exists. Strike two. Hopefully they get this fixed soon
Digital Cheetah is a very volunteer-centric and intuitive app. They utilize user-based feedback, together with administrative and organizational needs to create a wonderful app. Have used there product for years in another volunteer capacity. (Junior League) they’re terrific in both!
I love that I can open my app and log my hours when I am doing something so that I don't have to worry about writing it down and getting on the computer at a later time. Always a seamless process and no lags.
Love the app love that I can log hours and register for shifts the only thing I wish was different was I wish it had a total of hours worked in the hours manager. Other than that great app.
Don't use it much at present, but it is definitely a good app. My only complaint would be that initially, it was to easy to exit-out without an easily identifiable "close-out" option. Thus the app remained open as soon as I tapped the icon. Didn't have to sign-in.
I know a lot of volunteer coordinators add photos and updates to "recent activity" I would love to be able to favorite, put a heart, a like, or comment on these photos/updates! I love looking at the photos and I want the people who post the photos to know.
I’ve tried several times to use this app and every single time I try to log it and it doesn’t recognize my email or phone and just sends me back to register. I cannot register again because an account already exists with my information-the account I originally created. Useful to me.
I tried to log in to Volunteer Connection on my laptop. With no success. I can log into the Red Cross .org but it requires me to try and log into Volunteer Connection which it will not accept my login. I can log into volunteer Connection using my IPad and IPhone but Can not find the required training. So disappointed in Red Cross web and computer based trading modules. I will no longer waste my time and effort taking computer based training. I have notified my local chapter over the past two years. Nothing has been improved. It’s very sad Joel Harris Augusta Ga Chapter
App likes to send full screen training log in results to a half screen width view when sending to an iPad Pro. If I log in directly I get full width screens of the same training. Seems strange.
I would volunteer more if I could tell whether a drive needs a volunteer or not. No matter if it says “register” or has a blue circle the drive is usually “full” and needs no volunteer. And when you go to the page to volunteer if would be nice if it had the date of the drive on it.
It's not user-friendly. Attempted many times to check on things and I just had a difficult time. I actually had to go online and put in Red Cross or volunteer connection and I had it easier way with that.
How do I update availability? It's not clear how to navigate to my most common tasks - I can't find how to update availability. The chapter has to give us a link on how to do what should be simple tasks.
I’d love to volunteer but when I enter either my email or phone number an error message appears saying “can’t find in any authorized directory.” Pls fix.
I had a horrible experience which I cannot go into here. Suffice it to say there are many other more ethical, less discriminatory and more inclusive organizations to help other than Red Cross. The opinion presented is my own.
Can’t open anything under “Recent Activity “. Volunteer Connection responds with: error on line 14 at column 15: Specification mandates value for attribute async
Could log in to website but not app. Applied to volunteer, passed background screen, but was never contacted. I suppose the Red Cross must have enough volunteers then.
It doesn't recognize me from my iPhone so it is useless to me. I've tried several times to get into it and failed. I WANT TO VOLUNTEER AND CANT. Frustrated!!!
