Hands down the best walk-up song app and worth the price!! I hope the developer see this. First I want to say you are a genius to create this app and by continuing to make great enhancements. I love this app. I have no complaints at all but I would love a small enhancement to help my bad memory. For the inning break songs, is there a way to allow free text. I never can remember if the song is upbeat, downbeat, or if it is an offense or defense song. I like having the song name and artist but adding the additional free form text like the situational songs would be awesome! Please help me out with this!
Although it took me some time to get my music to work with the app (I finally just imported my songs), this app has been spot on for what our high school team needs. The only adjustments that I would LOVE to see are: 1: The ability to hand type the time edits in addition to using the +/- micro adjustments. It takes sooooo long when you’re scrolling through a song by the one-tenth of a second. A lot of the kids have told me where to start exactly in their walk up song, so having the ability to just type that in and then use the +/- for fine tuning; that would save so much time. 2: The ability to categorize pre-game music. We have pre game fan music, followed by home team warm up music for in and outs and then visiting team warm up music for in and outs. It would be nice to be able to have the songs separated into their own groups. 3: The ability to categorize situational sounds and songs. Sometimes we have multiple sounds that we use for foul balls, etc. This one would be a bonus....but isn’t necessarily a game changer. I’m sure with more practice, I’ll be able to find the sounds I’m looking for more quickly. I’m really looking forward to continuing this season with this app it really does change the dynamic of the game. We can use Hammond organ sound bites to give us the pro experience. Fans love it. Coaches love it and the kids absolutely love it. Well done.
So, I have used this app for quite a few years now. There has always been little issues here and there. But this season, it’s been absolutely AWFUL! No songs play, unless it decides it wants to. Only the player announcement will play. My girls look forward to being pumped up by their songs, and they get let down. I’ve uninstalled, deleted all line ups and started over, reset, EVERYTHING! Never an issue before, now I want to just delete it and never look back!!! I thought maybe it was my speaker (the one I’ve been using for years), so I bought a new one. Same issue! Okay, maybe it’s my phone. So bought and paid for it on my daughters phone. Guess what! SAME ISSUE! Okay cool. Maybe it’s because we have the same phone model. Used my husband’s, you guessed it……SAME ISSUE! Yes the songs are downloaded to my phone from Apple. It does not give me the warning when I play them. It just doesn’t flippin play. Fix this PLEASE! I want to use this for our girls. They love the walkup songs.
This app is great!!! Love the different tabs for pregame, situational, walkout, etc… Sometimes when I play songs on the pregame tab and change to a different song, the first song will keep playing slightly lower volume than the 2nd song I picked. Also would like to see a volume meter on the on the top dashboard. For some reason I’ll be playing music on the pregame loud and then go to play a walkout song and the volume will not be at the same level as it was playing at. Same goes for on the walkout tab, the volume from player to player varies and is not set. I’ll play one and it will be fine and the next one will be at minimum volume and I’ll have to try and quickly increase the volume. Appreciate your consideration to these matters.
This is the only app I need in our high school press box. Very easy to use even when the boys want to change walk up music mid-game😵💫. Developer note: it would be great to have a soundboard type display with buttons in the situational tab. I find myself scrolling trying the right sound effect between pitches and other situations. I keep thinking a sound board would make this much easier😂. Not sure how hard that would be but it would sure help.

UPDATE: Now I really love the app! The developer got back to me quickly with my questions and provided easy instructions. This app is great and makes music and announcements so easy. The players and fans love it!!! So far I’m loving this app…setup was easy and I love the features. Haven’t used it yet at a game and I’m foreseeing a couple of challenges especially with question 1 below. 1. How do I move players from active to inactive and/or to match the batting lineup? 2. When I go to tech support, it’s asking me if I received my registration email? Uhm…this was an app download on my iPhone. There hasn’t been any transactional email.
I never write reviews for apps this is the first because this app is fantastic. We use this for our girls 14u travel team for softball the girls absolutely love being able to walk out to their favorite songs. Umpires love the fact that they’re 10 second clips and they automatically shut off. Don’t hesitate worth every penny, and it’s super easy to set this up and make modifications on the fly. One piece of advice completely independent of the app let the umpires know what you’re doing before the game and typically they’re fine with it.
I contacted the developer last year regarding adding a feature to record the player names and #'s rather than having to use the digitized voices. I told him that the inability to record was keeping this from an excellent program. He came through! I really like the pregame, between inning and situational song categories. The app easily transitions between these categories and the lineup walkout songs and player announcements. Great job! Thank you for being so responsive and creating a very functional app!
This is an awesome app and the customer service is fantastic. I ran into an issue and the developer personally worked with me to resolve the issue. You don’t see this type of customer service often. I would highly recommend this app for anyone playing music at the ballpark. I tried several other apps before finding Walkout DJ and none are even close. This is the best product of its kind on the App Store.
I have had a great experience with this app, my players love it and look forward to game days. Have had a couple of issues but developer was extremely fast in helping to resolve my issues via the walk-up do forum. I believe both issues were created by OS update but nonetheless he was Johnny on the spot with advice and service. Thanks for the support and continued effort to make the app better.
I just started using this app and love how super easy and user friendly it is. So easy I can easily download more songs in between innings. However, I'm having an issue with the volume. After I play 3-4 songs it's locks my phone into the mute position. Once it locks up I can't unsure it on any of my apps. There is no rhyme or reason and there's no magical way to unlock it. I just leave it alone for a while and it starts working again. Frustrating when it locks up at key times in the game. Just wondering if anyone else is having this issue? Thanks!
We just replaced our old computer at our American Legion Park with an IPad which we hoped alone would make announcing games easier for our parent volunteers. But adding this App made our game experience 10x easier. Highly recommended. All I would adjust would be to make the play/pause and fade out buttons a little larger on the IPad. Worth every penny.
Everything is great and easy to do but the announcers voice sounds like a robot. There must be 100 different options for voices and each one is worse than the next. Spent a lot of time in it going through them all and trying to figure out how to make it sound like a real persons voice. I’ve heard many of the walk up song apps used throughout the years at the ball field and never heard announcers voice like this app. I would recommend another app with a real sounding voice.
Okay, this app is pretty easy to use and adding players to teams. I’ve used it for a whole season and no issues with the songs playing. The only problem I’m having, which is why I gave it 4 stars…announcements! How do I get the right voice? There are so many to choose from and they all sound robotic. Not sure if this is how they are or am I doing something wrong?
Everything is great! Very user friendly, my only complaint is that I wish there was a way to adjust the lineup as need. Our tournament lineup is different than league games, so I’d like to be able to change it fast. Also, I hit one button accidentally and the lineup is all messed up by jersey number now and I cant even adjust it back 😒
This is an amazing app. In addition to being able to precisely cue walkout songs, you can add categories for any type of event you’d like, and drop music/sounds into those for quick access. Full ability to adjust fade into and out of songs. More powerful than I’d first thought.
This app is so much fun, the fans and kids hate playing without it now. What separates this app from doing it yourself is being able to splice the 8-12 seconds of the song that you want. You do need your own music though, so it’s not all done for you, but that’s what makes it fun
The app is great. It does exactly what I download it for. But even better, the support is fantastic. Over the last couple days I have posted questions about how to set up certain features of the app, and the developer has responded FAST with the answers to the questions that I had.
Tried a free app but was having too much trouble. Decided to take a chance on this app and it has been a night/day difference. I’ve already told 3 other teams so they can start doing walk up songs!
Most valuable tool award. This app has allowed me to take sporting events, in particular travelball (softball), to a whole new level. I can play any song or song byte at any time with this app making the game an all around amazing experience. Thank you Joseph!
The app does NOT easily create a simple “button” with a players name and their corresponding walk up song. I created our team’s lineup and loaded their songs and when I went back to it a little later the music was still there but app said the music wasn’t. Further it loads the whole song and does not easily allow you up to dub/record a voice over announcing the player. And it is hard to edit/shrink the song for the 10 or 11 seconds needed for the at bat. Disappointed.
It will play a song & then won’t play it next time. Out of 10 kids it usually will only play two songs randomly. The kids are bummed their music don’t play. I would definitely purchase a different app.
I wish all apps were this EASY!! This apps makes it easy to play walk up songs, inning change music, warm up music...basically allows you to find the song you need in seconds!! It even keeps track of what songs have already been played!
Our softball team loves this app. We have been using the app since the beginning and wouldn't use any other. I do have one small request, can you please add a feature to put the inning break songs in alphabetical order? Thank you! Hello! Have you been able to implement the change? Thank you!
This is a great app. I just wish that there were some minor improvements to the song length editing and most of the songs won’t download because of copyrights, (Is there a go around), I came up with my own. Over all it made for a great experience.
Great app but the most frustrating thing has to do with imputing the Cue time. Had I known this was an issue I wouldn’t have spent the money. I wish I had the ability to type in my Cue time instead of pressing the + button. You know how many times I pressed the button to get to the 1:10 mark of a song? I probably should have just stuck to my less expensive app where I can type in the time. Disappointed for sure.
If you told me that I was going to be playing walk up music, songs between innings and announcing games this season, I would say you were crazy! This app is awesome and really allows you to have fun! I know nothing and people are always complimenting us on our music! Great job!
I appreciate a developer that responds often and shows that they care. Happy to pay and support this app. It works great. Easy to use and I can set up a whole team in about 10 min which is nice.
First got the app for my iPhone8 and it worked great. Last week I got a new XR and now it’s locking up and won’t play music when plugged into my equipment at the ball park there the lightning connector. Also the pregame music doesn’t play continuous like it did on the 8.
The guy clearly wants this to work well for people who use it. You can share lists to other parents with the same app on same operating system for easy transfer if you are absent a game.
I like this app but the whole reason I got this app is to say there name and number with an announcer voice. You know what I’m talking about, it would sound like this. -) NOOOWWW BAATTIINNG NUMBBER 16 DDDEEERRRICK HHENRRYYY!!!! ( fake name but that is a name of a guy that plays in the nfl ) I would also like to add the app would be better if you could say the number and the music at the same time and let the music go longer.
Would be nice to be able to overlap the last second of the announcement and the beginning of the walk up song. Too much of a lag between. Position option would be nice too. Should come pre loaded with the basic baseball organ sounds and Star Spangled Banner.
When I first downloaded this, the fade out worked perfectly. Then as I went along adding players and songs, suddenly the fade out doesn’t work. It just cuts off no matter how long I set the fade end timing on the settings.
So i read the details after I bought it, when if ever will you be able to use Apple Music to add songs to this app..... that would be my only bad comment about this you should be able to use you Apple Music app to add songs it is a 4 star app just needs this added to be a 5 star
Since the recent iPhone update I’ve been getting an error message “No Decodable Audio Track” on random songs. There doesn’t seem to be no rhyme or reason and some songs suddenly stop working in the middle of a game. Frustrating for both the user and players.
I requested a refund because I thought the app was not what I wanted but I figured out the how to use it. I need to cancel my request for a refund, but I do not see that option.
I purchased this app based on the description of the number of voice options. Little did I know that the options were from multiple languages. There’s very few options for English and none of them sound like sports announcers. I wasted my money. I had the app for less than 5 minutes. Spent more time writing this review. Wish there was a way to contact someone to request a refund
It is certainly worth five dollars to have an app that is this robust… I used it this weekend at the Peoria baseball tournament and it was awesome. It has a few bugs, pretty minor ones, that need to be fixed but it worked great.
Great app for our baseball team. Works seamlessly with Apple Music and very user friendly. Easy to adjust start and stop times on walkout songs to get exactly what the players want for their walkout song.
Love the app but having issues in the pre game section. Songs will finish then same song start back up and play for 20 seconds or so before going to next song in line.
i don’t pay $10 for iTunes bc i’ve always had a subscription somewhere else. so basically unless i start using iTunes it’s almost impossible to get music connected. there’s a lot of other music providers. why can i use something other than iTunes? Because now i’ve spent $6 on a app i can’t even use. which it’s not a big deal but it’s annoying.
All levels of our high school baseball program use this app and it’s awesome. Very easy to use and you can even select music for walk-ups, inning breaks, situational breaks and pregame. Totally recommend this especially if you have Apple Music.
I have used this app for over a year now and it's awesome. Anytime I have contacted the creators with a suggestion of adding a new feature it has been added. Thanks Walkout Songs for making my life as a baseball mom/mgr much easier.
Love this App, BUT there is like a 2 second delay from when I push play and the song actually starts...walk up time is very short, so I’d love to see this corrected!!!

All of the other teams were extremely jealous!!! I did share the team names, numbers, and songs with my wife and it was almost too easy!
When playing from the tailgate playlist it occasionally repeats songs for some reason. Other than that it is great for running the music at HS baseball games.
Before the last update it all worked great. Now I have to close the app before every batter because tapping the next batter’s play button does nothing. Not sure what they changed but I don’t want to have to re-record all the players walkup introduction and setup the music again. Voting down until it gets fixed.
I am having trouble with the announcer voice to be at the beginning of the song. All the options I have is text to speech. Is there a way that I can hear it at the beginning of the song?
Music makes the ball field come to life but until now being the ballpark DJ wasn’t easy. Walkout Song DJ is here to make it simple to have every field filled with that pump-up music every athlete loves and needs for those big games. Walkout song DJ makes the difficult task of playing a walkout song for each individual batter as easy as tapping a button. Simply enter the player name and number then select a song from your iTunes library. The precise segment from that walkout song can then be set by selecting a position and playback duration using a simple and precise editing view. Press the play button and 11 seconds later you have one pumped-up batter, and a song that smoothly fades as the batter steps up to the plate. You can also choose between imported, recorded, or computerized text-to-speech announcements for your players before, after, or mixed with their walkout song.
