This is my most used app by far and generally performs well. I have come to rely on it but it let’s me down sometimes. It’ll be playing the NPR feed just fine then just stop and I can’t get the feed back. All other links etc. seem to still work but the main function I use the app for fails. Not frequently but often enough to aggravate. The other nitpick is that I sometimes can’t listen to “All Things Considered” during the broadcast and will not be able to find the most recent addition in the “On Demand” menu. Usually I can but again aggravating from time to time. Woe is me.
I travel three weeks a month and the WPR app gets 1 to 2 hours of use each day, keeping me connected to what’s going on “back home.” When it works, that is. It doesn’t seem to be very stable on iPhone X. Once a week, typically, it just won’t work seemingly getting stuck. Hopefully the developers get the app refined and another version issued. Otherwise, I love it. Pleasing and useful layout. I like being able to toggle between “channels.”
Though I’m only 9 miles over the border into MT, I can’t pick up WPR’s signal, so I stream it on my iPhone & iPad. The app is glitchy when trying to get it to play, as many other Apple product users have commented about. The app seems to be getting worse & will play only about 50% of the time. I’ve deleted & reinstalled it with no success. When I can get it to play, there’s an abundance of content to stream or play on demand. Wyoming Public Radio is hands down my favorite NPR station & one I proudly support. I just wish the app was reliable. Please, don’t make me listen to Yellowstone Public Radio!
I’ve used and enjoyed the WPR app for a long time and across a lot of devices. Wherever I am it keeps me up to date on Wyoming news and music (& NPR) wherever I am. Wyoming Public Radio is our state’s most ubiquitous station and its staff is full of amazing journalists and radio personalities. It’s podcasts are some of the best anywhere. Thanks WPR for keeping me informed and connected. Will be 5 stars once the app is updated to better support iPhone XR
I use this app on an iPhone SE (StraightTalk service). The layout is easy to follow, and I can access most things with just a couple of swipes. The only issue I ever have is when traveling, but that is a service issue and not a problem with the app. I like being able to swipe through the schedule and have local stories literally at my fingertips.
Hi I love listening to the station! I think they have the best classical music even better than WETA in DC. Is there a way to go back in time to see what music was played? I feel like there is too much news on this station. It should be more classical music. If people want the news, they can go to the new station.
Because I am about 20 miles outside of their broadcast area, I use it to stream daily. Except when it doesn’t work. The play/pause button flakes out about once a week. Other reviews mention this, can you get it fixed? Otherwise, I enjoy the content and the layout it easy to navigate.
As a millennial, I don’t utilize cable tv or even own a radio for the house- this app allows me to get more news from a reliable news source that I grew up listening to!
I am a WPM sustaining member but moved to the east coast last year. I get my WY fix thru this app, and find it offers more than the local stations’ apps. I also enjoy the time shift that allows flexibility in my listening. Great station and great app!
I am a proud member of WPR and use this app more than any other on my iPhone. I only give it three stars because the run/pause button does not work in the Control Center widget! Somebody at WPR get a iPhone and see what I’m talking about! Should be an easy fix, and when it is you get a five star upgrade :)
The Wyo KUWR NPR app is virtually the same app as the Colorado KUNC app, yet it's performance is considerably poorer. The app will start in the morning as an alarm and it times out and quits 15 min later. I don't have this problem with the KUNC Colorado app. Strange.
What an honor to be first to review this app. I've used same app for other public radio networks and am excited that WPM has adopted it as well. Love the on-demand feature for specific programs I've missed. Only wish for on any or all of the three WPM streams a playlist derived from program logs so that at any time I could see what is, has, and soon will play. I love the music but often am left wanting the title, artist, and album name. If there were 4.5 stars I would have given it that for this reason. Otherwise, an excellent listening app. Keep up the great work!
What a great app. I used the official NPR app exclusively in order to stream Wyoming public radio and now with this handy app I can get everything I use off the website on my mobile phone which is the only way I listen to NPR in the first place. I appreciate the work that they put in to this and am looking forward to seeing what they do with it in the future. I am happy with this app and would recommend it to anyone.
WPR is part of my daily routine and this app makes it so easy. Where I live the radio waves don't reach our little cabin very well but with WiFi and this app WPR comes through clear. I like the new updates with the ability to search content and read/listen to what I'd like when I'd like.
I really like this app! I like being able to go between the news and classical music anytime during the day! Thanks for your work to keep public radio on air and streaming!
This version is much more visually pleasing than the last and gives a bunch of great stories both local and national that weren't as up front with the last app. Good job, WPR!
