Yu-Gi-Oh! At its best
This is what Yu-Gi-Oh! is, and what it has become, wether you’re a seasoned veteran who has dealt with all the lows of the modern meta or an old fan who has come to revisit the game, THIS is the best Yu-Gi-Oh! game out there. Newcomers to the game will be greeted with an unforgiving experience as the game has evolved to be a game of mental gymnastics at its peak, but stick around and find out why such an experience keeps people around. The game has an excellent card collecting method that has yet to make me spend a single penny, having similarities to buying real world packs yet being more generous. The dueling experience is also amazing, never have i learned how to play so many cards and deck archetypes so easily that I actually have multiple decks ready to be used at a whim. Though the game still lacks a casual matchmaking option, it’s got enough to keep you entertained and then some. If you’re looking to play Yu-Gi-Oh!, wether you’re a newcomer, a veteran, or a returning player and are wondering if this is worth the time, then please try it, you’ll be pleased to know that it is a cross platform game that can play with anyone on any platform it is on so you can get your game on with anyone, anywhere, anytime.

Good but could be better
Overall the game is fun and no complaints for the most part except for three things. 1. The amount of gems that the game gives you the opportunity to get for FTP (free to play) players on a daily basis is abysmal. Especially since the majority of things in the game cost several hundred gems; card packs, accessories, specific cards you would need to craft for decks, all cost in some form or fashion a considerable amount of gems. Which realistically would take several weeks just to get one or two items. 2. The online public dueling system is horrible. There’s no system for efficient, plentiful dueling on a casual level. It’s either play ranked and get creamed by a meta deck or use the meta decks. And on the flip side search through tens of dead rooms and hope to get a casual unranked duel. There needs to be a system just like ranked but for causal duels with a queuing system as well. And number 3 is the lengths you have to go through just to get the smallest amount of gems in the game. I believe one of the achievements if I recall correctly is Special summon a monster 300 times (I believe not exactly sure if it was more) just for 50 gems. And it increases drastically to get the same amount of gems or less for progressing even farther in the achievement. It’s absolutely absurd. But overall not a bad game. Those things make it less enjoyable to play however.

Why did you do this?
My comment is just I’m speechless, except not actually. This review is bad but it’s not based off the actual app itself which works pretty well. This game used to be really fun and challenging and took thought to play and have a good time. Now starting a duel and having the other person have the first turn with 5 cards and somehow play 9 different monsters on the field all in one turn to all be some how fused all together into 3 different monsters 2400 + with no other cards traps or spell cards played. It’s just like what is this you can’t even play with a deck that has original cards in it because this is pretty much just an online game against other real people who all like to play this way for some reason. Why did you guys ruin this game like this? it used to be really fun and now it’s over in one turn it’s not even a game it’s just who can be a bigger clown and find a away to complete the duel the fastest. Why do you need to be able to play 9 different cars in a turn when the original is just one besides when very few other cards let you do more then one sometimes. It’s just boring now maybe find away to do the first couple generations completely separate in there own game or make your “campaign” not just a couple training classes, make it like the one from the Xbox that lets you play pretty much every duel from the shows and gives you card packs after that help you add to your deck.

Yugioh the way it was meant to be played
I’ve played several video games and previous apps regarding the game I’ve known since I was a child. But this game managed to cover EVERYTHING* Yugioh is, the good things and flaws alike. I am truly mesmerized by how much love and attention this game as gotten, both from developers and players alike! It has reignited my love for this franchise a million times over, and I will always remember that! *Having said that, there was one feature in a previous game that I hope will come in Master Duel some day. World Championship 2007 had a feature called “Recipe Duel” where you could fight against the decks you made and see how strong they truly were. I hope you can make that feature available for us down the road. EDIT: Also, could you give options for different soundtracks that we can customize to our liking. I loved the winning soundtrack in Duel Generations for instance and would love to hear that again. Even the ones from World Championship 2007 were good as well. EDIT 2: also, adding duel puzzles from previous games would be a nice feature to have as well. EDIT 3: not a critique on the app, but I have deleted it because it felt more like a chore when playing rather than a game. Make this more like a game. Add puzzles and other fun stuff, and maybe I’ll come back.

Ehhhhh
Not that this review will ever be read, most never are; however, This game is everything I’ve ever looked for in a yugioh game minus a few key points. Gouging for money in this game is insane, I’ve reached a point where building decks is going to cost real world money, and I’m not doing that when I have the real cards, that would be the dumbest thing I could do. No rewards for ranked placement is absurd, literally every other game in the world has rewards and without them, it feels like a casual duel for a cool sticker that tells your friends you’re good at a trading card game. While on the topic of TRADING card games, when is the last time a major yugioh title had cross player trading in it? That doesn’t seem to make a lot of sense considering the game is called a trading card game. Lastly, GOD THAT MATCH SPEED. You’re telling me I can load in to a massive map in the middle of a dessert and shoot a bunch of bad guys on call of duty at 120 frames flawlessly but I get on yugioh on my PS5 and the match lag is so absurd it’s insane on us taking turns placing 2D cards on a field? That’s actually embarrassing. I sit there for thirty minutes for my opponent to make his moves. (Before all you yugioh buffs go crying about how that’s just card effects and whatnot, I’ve won regional yugioh events multiple times, I understand turns take awhile, this is way to long.) good game, needs so much work.

It’s a hard game so stop complaining
The reason so many people hate on yugioh is because of the complexity of combos and the speed at which you can get multiple 3000+ attack monsters (one turn) with crazy effects. Then it’s your turn and you get max c, ash blossomed, droll and lock birded, etc. However, that’s just what yugioh is. A simple blue eyes deck that has you tribute summoning cards will just not cut it. You have to realize that yugioh’s been around for 25 years so of course the game’s going to get complicated and of course there will be overpowered cards released, but they’re only overpowered because you’re comparing them to older cards. In Pokémon, terra greninja can do 170 damage with 1 energy, and then you can search your deck for any card; 25 years ago, charizard, one of the more powerful cards, used 4 energy to do 100 damage and then you had to discard 2 of the energy. All card games evolve in some way and this is just the path that yugioh has gone down. Yugioh master duel is really generous in giving you gems when you’re just starting so just search up good decks online and make them.

Play literally any other card game instead of this.
I have never played a card or video game with this level of broken balancing. I played this game for several hours and tried out several decks. The tutorial and solo stuff was pretty good but once we got to actual pvp/online battles it just turned into a nosedive. First, servers were abysmal. I don’t know if it was just me but most games I played my opponent would be disconnected and I would win automatically without even being able to play the game. When I actually did get a match that worked 9 times out of 10 my opponent would have several 3000+ attack monsters on their side of the field by the end of their first turn. I had an opponent who literally spent 5 minutes summoning and pulling off whatever build his deck had to kill me by turn two, something I quite literally cannot do anything about. This game has absolutely zero balance and will never be balanced due to the massive amount of bloat and power creep. If you want to slough through to the point where you can also have a 1 turn game ending deck then you do you, but literally any other card game would be a better investment than this one. I recommend hearthstone, the league of legends one, Horus heresy, or practically any game where your opponent cannot one shot you on their first turn thereby preventing you from actually playing the game.

Great Game with a couple of issues
Overall the game is great, it’s a good mix of both TCG and OCG yu-gi-oh. However my biggest gripe with the game is collecting cards. In the game there are four rarities:Common, Rare, Super Rare, and Ultra Rare. You collect cards by pulling them from packs and or crafting them via materials that you get from either the Duelist pass or Dismantling cards of the rarity in question. Although crafting cards is a welcomed addition getting materials can be rather rough. There are times where you don’t pull many if any Srs/Urs and when you level up in the duelist pass you get around 9-10(with the upgraded gold pass). Decks can have cards of any rarity, however most if not all semi competitive decks have a hefty amount of Sr/Ur cards(unless you’re specifically playing a budget version of the deck, or are playing a more causal deck). A Daily/Weekly mission that gives more crafting materials of all rarities would be greatly appreciated as it would help you get more cards for new decks. Overall it isn’t the worst thing, however when you are low on materials you really wish there was some sort of way to acquire more. Sincerely- A casual turning into a somewhat competitive player.

Wow this game makes me hate myself for not enjoying yu gi oh as a kid
This game is probably the greatest way to introduce a new player, or someone like me who absolutely hated yugioh, to the game altogether!! Before playing this i never wanted anything to do with this card game mostly due to my inefficiency to learn or pay attention. But I have to give it to you, this game is scary good lol I’m even considering recreating my in game deck in real life!!! One thing I would say is the cpu time for deciding is outrageous and irritating at times. And it feels like although everything is “randomized” in the deck I seem to keep getting the unluckiest draws of the game, while the cpu seems to have 5 of each card in their deck. Sometimes I feel like there is absolutely no way the cpu abides by the same rules that the game intends they always seem waaaaaay to lucky leaving strategy out of the option and leaving everything to luck even considering the fact you specifically made a counter deck to work in your favor!!!!

No variety, don’t play.
Everyone plays the top meta. It’s boring and not fun. 90% of this game is just laddering up to stronger monsters in the first turn. There’s too much fluff in between. The game isn’t about strategy, it’s about getting lucky and having the most op cards. They make op cards knowing they’re op, and then they ban them, while making even more op replacements so you’ll spend money. This game was never about making a good game, it was about making money. I get Konami is a company and that’s their goal, but there’s a way to do both, and this is not it. They could make tiny improvements, such as, allowing you to choose between two starting hands so that you don’t get dead hands as often, and allowing you to strategize better. They never will though, and the reason is, there’s no money in it. I don’t see much hope for fun in the way the game is going. I have a feeling that this game will only hurt yugioh. Yeah, more people are seeing it and experiencing it, but a lot of people aren’t having fun, and a lot of people are leaving. I think the crux of the problem is their card design philosophy. They don’t care if something is balanced or fun to play with or against, they only care about making the next broken card that you need to be competitive. Greed isn’t good Konami. Talk to your fans Konami.

One star until you add formats please
I’m sorry but I’m getting tired of facing people with these new advanced play styles, why can’t I just have an option that will allow me to play old decks like harpies, joeys old deck etc? This game isn’t good for newbies or past players coming back to play unfortunately, nothing to do but continue to surrender when someone plays a 3000+ monster on their first or second turn, it’s just too much. Played this game and still haven’t one a single match and I’ve already played over 15 matches. Please Konami, make changes to the the overall gameplay of Yugioh, games like MTG are so simple and fun to play, you win some and you lose some, but the point is to have fun, I have no fun playing this game after the 5th loss in a row to an OP deck. Yugioh was a fun game in the past, unique decks, a more forgiving Meta, but now someone HAS to run specific cards and specific decks, no unique flare anymore. If you only supported multiple formats someone could play like time-wizard etc, that would be fun. I was hoping that if I enjoyed this game I could get back into Yugioh in real life again but seems like that won’t happen at all, not in the mood to get recked on the first or second round multiple times. A few losses is fine but when you lose non stop, who gets any fun out of that?

Potential is there. Almost perfect.
Alright, so this is what we’ve wanted since we were all 10 years old. It looks great, UI is clear and it’s snappy and quick. Now you see that part in the description that says “even offline!”? There’s big invisible asterisks there. There’s an “offline” mode for sure, but riddle me this: why does a card game need a constant connection to the internet? You know the REAL offline people look for? I can ignore micro transactions which lead to potential P2W grime all too common in mobile games but this is a different sort of buggering the player about for no reason. I work on a ship and when I’m in the middle of the sea, with no internet, it means I just can’t play this and have to stick to Duel Generations which is clunky and broken for sure but is truly offline functional. In summary, Master Duel is like receiving a free shiny Ferrari in your favorite color and even comes with one of those pretty Japanese showroom girls, but you can only drive it if you call Konami every time and the wheels are made of condensed marmite so you won’t be getting very far anyways.

Yu-Gi-Oh! “Digital”
The game is fun at first. The game has evolved well. It is what it is. However, this is a digital card game. Its free to play to an extent. You can play all you want but keep in mind you will have to restart if your deck get hits hard by a ban list and the game doesn’t give you fair compensation for your rebuild. This can be just as expensive as the real card game just keep in mind as a long time player, you will lose all of that money. When Duel Generations shut down I lost quite a lot of money. So I refuse to pay this much for digital cards. Oh and solo mode is bad. Still have to have internet connection to play it and the rewards are awful for the time it takes to play through. Neat concept just poorly executed. The pull rates a rough for a digital game. RNG with real money is garbage. I don’t hate the game, it is just a money grabber anymore. Deck editing is great compared to past titles but generating cards is also a great idea but not at a 3-1 pay off. It just isn’t fair for the time put in and RNG at play. After a while you will get loads of URs and SRs but they are just taking up space because they can’t be dismantled which just makes the deck editing get unnecessarily convoluted.

Some details that could be helpfull.
At first i need to congrats at konami because this is exaclty all the yugioh fans wanted for long ago, a game with high graphics an all the specs that yugioh brings above, Apart of the low in game pve(it’s understandable because the game is new and is focused on pve) i thing there some things that could be more helpfull for old players trying new decks and old player teaching new player, a custom room. A custom room against a IA where i can pick which cards i want in the field, in the hand, graveyard, banished, etc and i can choose which cards the IA have or make the IA or not play, would be helpfull too practice complicated combos and practice to understand better a new deck, meanwhile if we are teaching a new friend how to play or how to play certain decks and we can do the same already mentioned but surely the new player can understand better he is seeing what are the principal things to do to play correctly a new deck.

NOT BEGINNER FRIENDLY
look if you got money and time to spend just to get all the meta cards and decks then sure this game is great. but oh my god do you suffer if you dare play anything but the meta these days. and even if you don't, any decent deck with enough cards to negate your plays shuts down any structure deck you do try to play. the grind just to build any non structure deck is HORRID. unless you play against brain dead players you will barely win a duel in rank matches which is where you get most of the gems if you aren't spending money. you can barely build a decent enough deck with what you are dealt with at first and even if you do open packs you may get half of the cards you need, but crafting the rest is gonna take a while. if you got time and patience then sure it can be fun. but not really since every other deck floods the board with boss monsters, 8+ negates, or just floodgates so you can't even play the game to begin with. the only use of this is to play with friends who also play master duel but id rather stick to the OCG cause atleast i don't have to sit here for hours on end just to build one semi decent deck.

Best Yu-Gi-Oh! game ever!!! But needs something…
Don’t get me wrong, this is like the best Yu-Gi-Oh! game you can play for being on the go, especially if you are on the go from playing Master Duel from console or PC with the cross game data feature! But the games needs something that’s missing that should have been added at its release, there’s a Dark Magician mate that stands by you’re dueling field but my favorite card/monster Dark Magician Girl is not a mate to stand by you’re dueling field as well as a offline mode for the solo mode in the game. With how popular Dark Magician Girl is she should have been a mate to be by you’re side on the dueling field, please add Dark Magician Girl to the mate shop, she deserves to be in the game as a mate. As well as updating the game to have a offline mode for the solo duel mode, the offline mode for solo duel would be a great thing to add for those who don’t have access to the internet. These features really need to be added to the game.

Made for experts, not beginners
I was going to write a more detailed review, but my previous one was lost, so I’ll just say that this game is not the place to look for a “traditional” yugioh experience. Duel Links or Cross Duel are better options for that. This game is for veteran yugioh players who want to challenge their deck building skills. The game itself is okay, but it has a cruel and expensive deck building meta, and gems are far too tedious to grind. Duels can take over 20 minutes if you have a difficult opponent. Not to mention the game will make it its personal mission to give you every SR and UR besides the ones you need. Some of these really annoying things can be offset by using some strategy and brainpower, but overall the game mostly feels like a chore to play. The game is functional, I won’t give it much more than that though. Take these things into consideration before downloading this game and if you do, pick the archetype of your first real deck very carefully. It will have a huge impact on how many gems you can grind off ranked.

Konami’s Biggest Screw Up
for anyone who plays master duel, knows that it takes no skill to be the best anymore. while konami did an amazing job building up the game in terms of being a free game that was constructed beautifully, master duel is flawed for these two reasons. one, they have their own banlist separate from TCG/OCG, and it’s by far the worst of the 3 platforms. and two, master duel encourages players to use a meta that they only keep around until they release a new one, and that meta gets banned all around the next month. the worst part is players are allowed to copy other decks so by all means someone has a better deck, just use theirs and climb your way up the ranks. the fun aspect of yugioh was to build your own deck that was from your heart, hence the heart of the cards. yet instead. all everyone wants to do is use the one archetypes that’s winning. you could say “hate the game not the player” but the community is just as bad for falling victim of this scheme. overall, a fun game with your friends, but the game needs to be reformed if you truly want to compete for being the best deck builder.

Want to love it but can’t
Played many different yugioh games and have played duel links as well for a long time. This game just seems to have played off the success of duel links and set up full style matches. That sounds great but it ends up not. Your ability to collect cards to make any sort of workable deck is unmanageable without spending a pretty penny. Also the method to collect cards is quite bad. You draw basically from every card in existence. Then can only get more selective sets to draw from if you pull a sr or ur from said set. Also the game is basically just pvp with weak events based on a couple sets at the time. You will constantly be outmatched in the first turn everytime. This is due to you not having access to cards to get by against most other players. Then because you lose, you end up with little to no rewards leading to not being able to get more cards. This creates a broken system for new players downloading this. Honestly skip this and go to duel links. It is much more balanced, has much more to offer, and you will have a better time.

Big yu-gi-oh fan
Love this game I have it on my ps5 too i mean everything is just great the music the graphics it is just great but I can’t lie it does have some bugs it from time to time. I will go ahead and say that I do like the mechanics and that if you need to get a card you can always jut try and get some of those medals to get get the cards or or try to summon them. Ow the deck I use in this game currently i a world chalice deck I will send art off by saying it is a good deck to use but the bets ones to use right now from my point of view is a galaxy dragon 🐉 deck because it is just that good from the power to the abilities. The only complaint I have is about the forbidden 🚫 world chalice card the synchro one it is such a great card to use but I can’t use it cause it is forbidden 🚫 well that is the end of my review bye hope this was helpful

Great game w/ a TON of flaws!
So I’ve been a fan of the anime since I was a kid and I went into this game thinking I could finally learn how to play or at the very least build my dream deck. I was able to build my deck out with the monsters I want but there’s no tip or auto sort for spells and whatnot which cripples the game in my opinion. While the training bit is somewhat helpful the remaining bits are INCREDIBLY redundant to a casual gamer such as myself who just wants to collect cards and battle players. In regards to pvp, I won a total of two casual duels and have been losing since then not because of lack of skill but rather because I seem to get cards that I can’t use/summon whereas the enemy is able to get multiple hit points before even attacking. Finally this game has an auto button that legitimately does nothing so don’t get this assuming that a bot will duel for you. For anime fans, I strongly recommend you pick this up because I got an Egyptian god card.

Has Potential
Right now this is just another yugioh pvp duel simulator and not a real “game”. The solo mode is total trash, just text on a screen where you do a few battles with bad decks against a computer opponent. Where is the actual yugioh world where you can have a character and interact with other characters and move around? Where are the storylines? Why can’t Konami make a real modernized GAME like The Sacred Cards for mobile that has pvp as a feature and not the core thing? Speaking of PVP, it’s fun for a bit until you run into the same 5-10 toxic decks that take FOREVER to play against. I shouldn’t be waiting five minutes for every opponent turn. The only good thing about this game is you can get a ton of gems in the beginning to draw a lot of packs and the crafting system is really interesting. As of now, this is a really incomplete game with barely any content, and the PVP matches play too slow. Will definitely uninstall in a few weeks if big changes aren’t made. Regardless of Duel Links flaws, it was still way more interactive and I had fun playing for a while.

This is for the company that loves stealing money from people.
Why do all of you in this company just love nothing but money money money money money. The card game on its own is pay to win and soo Dammn expensive at that. But not you have a Mobil version so I’m my head I was like awesome I get to play the game. But no I log in and are given a straight up horrible year one deck and when I try to build my own I can’t cuz I have to acquire the cards but by bit witch takes forever making you want to spend real money. So at this point I said it’s ok I’ll just play and earn it but no right off the bat eveyone that it matches me up with has a good deck or an up to date deck and I’m over here with this crap the game gave me where I can’t even get more than one monster per turn on the field. And it’s so frustrating because non of them will see this and do anything about it. It’s all about money to them can’t you guys just let normal people who work everyday enjoy the game without having to pay so much money. Game is straight up garbage do not get unless you want to spend money are play against people who have money.

Ruined yugiho
The app works fine my big issue with the game is some of the stupid decks that were added. I used to love this card game as a kid and now they’ve way over complicated it. My deck in this game was simple but effective, but it doesn’t come close to these stupid decks that make it to where someone can play 20 different cards in one turn. I place my 2-3 cards down and end my turn and then I have to wait 10 mins for my opponent to play 20 different cards and summon 5 monsters to the field... it’s stupid, great way to ruin a simple fun game yugiho. Not only that but these decks also seem to have a card for every situation, you place some traps down to help aid your win and they have something to destroy all your traps and spells, you summon a stronger monster then them oh wait they destroyed a card 4 turns ago that destroys your monster as soon as you try to attack. The new decks have made it to where the old cards and decks are just completely useless. This isn’t even the same game anymore and if I wanted to play something confusing and different from yugiho then I woulda picked up magic the gathering.

Veteran Yugi Player Review.
As a veteran player of from the 2002 era this game is a breath of fresh air. Combining the OCG & TCG is the best way to go. This confirms keeping the game split in real life is a mistake. Master Duel finally allows players to play others from other nations with one list. A huge criticism that only Yugioh had. Hopefully they take this approach in real life and merge the OCG & TCG so Worlds means a lot more than it does. I can’t find a player in America who can name a world champion but plenty can name YCS and Shonen Jump Champions. This makes it much easier for returning players to learn new mechanics instead of having to learn everyone at once. I did that back in 2019 after a ten year hiatus as a competitive player. It was daunting and was probably a reason a lot of more causal players ran to other games. Master Duel fixes this fight or flight response. Konami really needs to give options for playing with Pre-Errata cards & old rules when having a private room. This will allow players to play decks from past eras of the game. Also the choice of alternative art on cards would be a nice addition for later installations. One huge criticism is there is no way to log in from your account on different devices. Meaning I had to create a new account to play on mobile vs my PC. They should fix this quickly. Over all the game is well made just like Magic’s Arena but not as costly.

Honestly so dissatisfied
Literally every game i get into im playing the sweatiest decks and for whatever reason my cards glitch out and do not work correctly i just summoned wake up your elemental hero with 3 material only to not gain 300 atk for each at all and then theres decks like snake eyes that literally every card is a starter i have the full deck myself but i do not enjoy playing it because everyone quits if i draw better than they do in the mirror match which is 90% of the time but again to my previous point my cards do not work if i use anything other than the meta decks previously before snake eyes when kashtira was full power thats every duel i went against was using on top of when i used blue-eyes or D-mage decks my cards would not be interrupted but would not work correctly as in magikuriboh, white stone of legend cards, bingo machine, etc it just makes the already hard to understand game even harder to understand i miss the old days where i could usually play a few turns and use my knowledge to win and not have to just open a better hand than my opponent to win

Game with Full of Scam
This game use scam in all its gaming and gacha systems. You are only guranteed to get one UR cards with 20 packs, which is almost 20-30 USD. Although you may get about 2 UR cards in 10 pulls on average, but there is still a great chance that you will NEVER get the card you want, because there is only 50% of chance getting UR cards from the pack you are pulling! And there are usually five to ten kinds of UR in each pack! It is very likely that you keep getting one trash UR in the pack with ZERO other wanted UR cards. The gaming system is also fraudulent. They are trying to balance everyone's win rate around 50% by playing tricks with your hands. You may keep getting very bad hands for tens of matches if you are detected with a high win rate, which is very unlikely to happen in real TCG matches if you build a reasonable deck (40 cards with 12 hand traps, 12 core cards). The game is trying to encourage the one who is going first to torture the second by letting them not play the game. Imagine that your opponent have more negation than the number of your cards if you go second.

Reminds Me Why I Quit Yu-Gi-Oh 20 Years Ago
Solo mode is deeply unrewarding and has a lot of decks (not opponents, you’re not facing duelists, you’re literally just fighting sentient scraps of paper) that are blatantly unfair. The whole purpose is to show how you can exploit various mechanics in Duel Monsters and then take you to the shop where you can pay a lot of money to pull the same exploitative nonsense. Solo mode can be played with your own deck or loaner decks. The loaner decks are worthless and get obliterated by the AI’s vastly superior decks. So you’re mashing retry until eventually the AI messes up or gets a bad hand and you can finally get an RNG based victory in. The 10 pack bundles say they guarantee a super rare card, except for when they don’t but instead promise you’ll totally get an ultra rare card if you buy another 10 packs. So in summary: Boring opponents, enemies that borderline cheat with their decks, difficulty curve that doesn’t exist because it’s all random, designed to handhold players on their way to the store so they can spend enough of mommy’s money so they can cheat at Duel Monsters too.

Game is good but players take way to long to finish their turn
The game so far it’s really fun to play but with all the new gens of yu-go-oh like synchros and links and the other one forgot the name summing takes way to long, I’ll be running a nice deck finish my turn quick while the enemy would be summing giving me time to even make lunch brakes fast not even when I finish cooking this dude be still summing when I come back from doing all, there are three types of deck that rather leave match instead of waiting for them to summon especially with sky strikers for got the name of the other two but eve time I see those decks I rather leave instead of waisting my time. If you have time to wait for them to summon go ahead and download the game, I had a friend who played the game to, dude quit delete the game cuz people be taking forever to summon

The game is amazing
I’ve always loved the yugioh anime/manga since I was little and I always enjoyed the card game with friends but it was to difficult for us to play outside of our friend group so I eventually but when I heard that duel links came out I hopped on the hype train and played the crap out of that game but with duel links I had a bunch of pet-peeves with the game for example the micro transactions was a huge part so when I heard that this game was going to have 10,000 cards it made me really nervous but I’m glad that that Konami not only made it super accessible for you to get the cards and the premium currency aka (gems) But just like any other game their are some problems with the game and remember not every game is perfect but for what it’s worth this is a solid game and if you like card games or if you like yugioh PLEASE play this game!!!!

EASILY MOST F2P IN APP STORE
Literally I despise playing mobile games, I’d rather stare at a wall for 5 hrs just because I never feel competitive being 100% F2P, or if I do spend money it doesn’t do anything for me in a competitive sense cuz everyone else is spending thousands to be mid tier competitive in whatever game it may be. Now that’s out the way, this game has been the most generous game I’ve played with their in game currencies. Since playing this game I’ve built 3 Top tier meta decks on my main PURELY FTP. Haven’t spent a single dime, on my alr which I made not to long ago I’ve already made 3 more Meta decks COMPLETELY FTP. Including the ever so expensive tearlaments, sprights and adamancaptor 60 pile. All this to say this is one of the only mobile games I can play for more then 3 days without uninstalling. I’ve gotten to the second highest rank (diamond 2) completely FTP.

This App is Killing The Fun of Yugioh
This might make me sound old, but this app focuses too heavily on modern Yugioh. For those players who are not able to play online with friends often and seek a simple match, they are rewarded about 70% of the time with a meta player with a busted deck that TKOs them in one turn or makes them rage quit in a few seconds. There needs to be a mode for old classic fun Yugioh, when winning wasn’t the only thing that mattered. Sometimes you get a fun duel you have a chance with, but most of the time it’s playing with busted cards in sync with busted combos that feel meaningless each time. And yet the ability to play with cards you can’t easily get your hands on in real life makes this one of the most addictive games on the market. And that is probably what’s worst about it. You’ll probably have fun with it from time to time, but if you’re looking for a genuine Yugioh experience with all the highs and lows, you won’t likely get it as often as you hope.

Love it!!!
As a fan and player of Yugioh TCG since I was 6 years old to junior year in high school…I really never thought I would get back into playing Yugioh after all these years and new generations of cards. I stopped playing the game around the time XYZ summons came to be. This game really helped me get over the “oh my gosh, Pendulum and Link are so confusing I’ll never play this game again” to now the, “wow this is seriously easier than I thought!” This game really broke down the concept of Links and Pendulum summon to the point where it became easy to get the hang of because of them teaching step by step and having you do it yourself. Thank Konami! Because of this game, I’m going to be on the hunt to get back into the TCG tournaments like good ol’ times! Highly recommend this game. Good luck and have fun everyone!

Keep losing to cheaters
It’s my second night playing this version I kept doing the dual play with other players because of no robot player to play with anyway I get my cards I go first or second no biggie but then it’s a problem I thought it be a good head to head match new to new or something like it but it’s new to legendary level and I always um put a monster down attack or defend with or without spell trap cards infield anyway once it’s there turn again they put a monster card down and another and another and somehow it synchro xyz summon I thought it um finished but then it did it again maybe the spell or traps were involved but that’s literally cheating and how am I supposed to win or attack there monster anyway I either surrender or lose the game but other than that sometimes I won after getting my cards to dual and they surrendered either for me to not get humiliated by cheaters or they just don’t want a fair honest dual

Finally, a good digital yugioh game
20 times better than duel links because duel links was just weird. 3 card spaces and character skills??? What???? Master duel takes us back to actual yugioh. 5 spaces in the monster zone and the spell/trap zone. It’s got all the summoning, like synchro, pendulum, link and all that confusing stuff. I’m pretty sure every yugioh card is in this, and you can get cards pretty easily. Anyone who says it’s pay to win hasn’t played more than 2 hours. Gems are really easy to get for the first week (I opened 2,000 cards via packs in the first week I played) and they have a pretty good system for getting specific cards you want with the “secret pack” system. I feel like this game should deserve 5 stars, but the one issue is that it doesn’t really explain some key parts, such as the battle pass, secret packs, and match rewards. Other than that, it’s phenomenal.

Worst game I have ever played in my life.
I have spent so much money on cards that I couldn’t even use. Honestly ban everything and start from scratch. I don’t like wasting my time waiting for my opponent playing 20 cards on turn one there are to many effects that negate or add cards right from deck and honestly it’s as broken as pot of greed at this point. Hey only thing keeping games alive are hand traps if you don’t start with a hand trap game over cause the opponent playing 20 cards to get nothing but negate effects on field in turn one now its my first turn and I’m locked out I can’t activate or make a play I set a monster face down I set traps face down well guess what my opponent just activated a trap that lets him summon a link monster for free to destroy everything on field on my end phase. But ban pot of greed. The game in general is getting worst and I sure ain’t investing anything ever again. I mean duels are becoming more boring to watch cause you know what cards will be played. NO UNIQUENESS IN THIS GAME ANYMORE. That’s a big word and your throwing it away.

Great
The game has been fun to play and I see great potential in it. A few things here and there but it's to be expected of a new game. Some people are hacking and ruining the online experience, hope that gets fixed soon. Aditionally, I believe everyone would like to be able to dust every single UR, even ones obtained from free structure decks, I know that won't ve possible but the next best option would be for you to allow players to dust every EXTRA card they have for their structure decks. For example, the synchro one brings a copy of Junk Warrior, I pulled another copy from the Master Pack but I can't do anything with it, I don't play the deck and would really benefit from that dust I'd get from him to craft another UR. It's fine if we can't dust every single card we get from the structure but just please let us dust every other copy we get outside the structure deck.

It’s not fun for a new player that loved the original anime.
It’s good if you want to compete and grind out some wins by always reconfiguring multiple decks, but for casual players who just want to sit down and play AND enjoy the game it’s not a good game. I prefer to be able to sit down and enjoy the game, and other times I do want to compete and grind out a win, but to ALWAYS have to sit down and competitively play gets annoying fast whether it’s solo or online dueling. If there’s a more casual way to play for a more casual player I’ll give this game a better review, but until then I can’t. For the online games, those are way more fun because of the originality of a lot decks I’ve come across but there’s too many that just take three total turns to end the duel. Same can be said for the Solo Gates mode. It’s not fun when you can’t play and it’s not fun when you’re facing three 3000+ monsters and can’t summon anything because of some effects these newer cards have.

Pretty good
Before I started playing this game, I was so nervous to even try it because I didn’t wanna move past the investments I made toward duel links, but it makes so much sense now why there’s a move toward this new game. Building decks is SO much easier and affordable that it’s pretty aggravating how they handled duel links this whole time. The amount I’ve spent making the decks I wanted would have cost me WAY more in duel links for no reason. The gameplay of duel links can still be fun at times but it just can’t compete toward how they’ve handled this game. I never even liked the concept of playing through pointless missions just to get specific things that you want. I’m still getting used to what modern yugioh is like on this new platform but I find it so much more enjoyable and challenging

A horrible game with Developers that don’t care.
If you are wondering why this is a five-star review, it is because I literally wasn’t allowed to give it one star and the majority of Five-Star reviews are fake. This is not a fun game. The entire thing is built around a competitive ladder that is designed only to waste your time with the occasional festival that makes things almost look like a good game for all of five hours until the shoddily-made banlist lets the playerbase at large blow a hole through it. If you think that climbing a ladder is an indicator of skill, it really isn’t here. The only thing separating the mid-to-max tiers on the ladder are people’s moral compasses as it is impossible to actually climb it with fun or fair decks. Also, Tear-0 is in full blast here as well. Avoid it like the plaque.

Needs more solo play option
This game is OK. It looks and plays great but ranked matches are an absolute bore since 90% of your opponents will have perfectly curated decks literally even at the lowest ranks even if you started the game 5 minutes ago. To add insult to injury the game ENCOURAGES players to be toxic by activating as many traps, spells, effects as possible through rewards which results in matches taking wayyyyy too long to the point you just want to surrender which only results in you being penalized by being given ZERO rewards. The game does have a solo option but it’s mediocre at best. There are only a few options and you’re either forced to use a custom deck or battle incredibly weak builds. The game should absolutely reward you the same or add more perks for playing solo. As a newbie playing ranked is too soul crushing, time consuming, and unbalanced. Game so far is definitely NOT friendly towards casual and newbie players.

Konami you are garbage.
Imagine having a game so broken it’s unplayable and not addressing it for months or ever. The game of Yu-Gi-Oh is so unbalanced ridiculous garbage it’s the least fun thing to play I’ve ever wasted time on. it literally never fails that the opponent has Maxx c, called from the grave, and Ash Blossom every game every hand every single turn, any time they need it. prepare to endlessly run into these stupid link players playing this trash adventure token synchro deck they’re so broken it’s a joke. You wait for your turn for 10 minutes and then can’t play a single card because all they have are negates. they can summon off 20 cards and end turn with five cards in their hand it’s a joke. how to play Yu-Gi-Oh: waste 10 minutes of your life, press the surrender button. your unlimited hand traps, and all these link decks (which by the way are all almost exactly the same and super stupid) absolutely ruined this game. I think I’m done forever on your money grab until you make a game that actually has variety.

Please Add A Real Player Vs Bot feature
Hello I Love Yugioh ever since I was a kid. Watched a bunch of the tv shows and played it with my family and all that stuff. I even played a bunch of the ps2 games they had for it. The one thing though that the phone games are missing and it drives me crazy. There is absolutely no campaign. And for this game there really isn’t a good player vs bot feature . I think it would be cool if u added in where u can verse cpus with whatever deck u want and get Normal, Rare, Sr, and Ur token things. Or maybe just make it too where u can get gems. Either one would be cool. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ADD THIS FEAUTURE. I get that u have the thing where u can get decks and stuff basically a tutorial. But its not very hard too fly through every single one of those. N then after there is no single player mode. This is the one thing that every single game needs.

A lot of people are saying it’s dumb that your opponent can do ridiculous things within 1 or 2 turns, and while that may be true, you can do that too, y’know. Plus, there are many great hand traps and other negates that can be used to stop your opponent. The one star reviewers say that the game used to be way better and balanced, but what exactly are they talking about? This game is quite new. If they’re talking about the TCG, unless they played in 2002, it was almost never just “I summon one normal monster in attack position and end my turn.” And yes, you will get destroyed if you’re going around with Summoned Skull beatdown or classic cards, but with a game of Yu-Gi-Oh’s age, there must be some kind of power creep. Anyway, great game, it’s Yu-Gi-Oh, but there’s Maxx C and you can build a competitive deck for free.

Card selection
Why did you get rid of being able to “assemble” cards you don’t have yet?? That was my favorite feature. It made it the perfect amount of easy/challenging to build the deck you want. The reason I say this is: I loved the openness of it and the use of CP in this way allowed for card selection expansion. This made it easier than trudging through meaningless pack after meaningless pack until maybe getting the UR/SR you really want. With the way it is now, there’s not but a 1% hope of acquiring the cards you really want. My digital collection now looks like all my tins (irl) stuffed with pointless commons. Sure I got some prettys, most do. But many I’ll never use. ALSO! Make it possible to “rank-up” rarity by combining like cards and whatnot. Idk, you guys are the developers. I’m just a lowly player with familiarity in how games work..

It’ s a good game but with some issue
Since we probably know how good this game is (full scale of 遊戲王 and satisfying UI), I will mainly point out some issues I met when gaming: 1. Unstable server: I and my opponents often got disconnected. 2. No regret on misclick: when doing complex combo, I often selected the wrong card when searching for GY or deck because I moved so fast. I wish I could have a chance to reselect, and I suppose this happens a lot among players. To accomplish this reselection, you can delay the animation of holding a card in hand (what an opponent would see) to the moment just before the card is placed. 3. Please add animations to more cards, I wish more monsters I like can be summoned with a animation. (Other than that, could you add full-screen CG to the summoning of some important monsters? especially for divine beast and monsters over rank 12)

Overall good game but has a lot of problems and quality life improvements that need to be made
So I am a affluent card game player. Having played both magic, and Yu-Gi-Oh I can say without a doubt that this game needs some improvements. The lack of the emote system or a simple communications tab in game takes away from the social experience of the match. Also, the home screen lags and takes a minute to load in every time you have to navigate through it. Lastly, a lot of high-level, strong monsters that are played in a lot of meta-decks. Do not have summon animations, which is very disappointing considering how difficult they are to summon. Other than that the game overall is extremely fun and I’ve been having an incredible time learning the new mata and all the new ways to play cards.

Loving this game but I got a few complaints that can be fixed.
For starters there’s no side deck. I this game was advertised as playing by TCG and OCG rules so it’d be nice to do best of threes. It’d be cool to have toggle to uncensored the art for all cards. Like come on it’s already there for the folks in Japan so having a toggle is quite literally not that hard to do. While on the topic of art having the alt arts in this would be cool. And a toggle for using the original direct translation for the card names would be nice. Being able to see the opponent’s hands in replays would be nice. Oh! Best for last. Why am I getting less or the same amount gems during the daily logins and completing challenges? One would assume you’d get more the more you log in and the more you work on a certain challenge to help motivate you to do it. Once these are fix, addressed, or added I’ll change this to a five star review.

I want to like this game but…..
As a long time Yugioh fan I find this game to be fascinating. The problem is that their doesn’t appear to be any more Yugioh spirited players, just players who prefer (and have the money) to use otk, complete shut down meta decks that make the game last 1-3 turns and practically take almost 5-15 minutes on one turn. Maybe more. I get it some want to play that way, but either have a limit when it come to time on a turn or have a complete separate mode where people can play non competitively and enjoy this game. They may still pay to get the stuff they want through paying. But plz have room for everyone else who just want to enjoy this game even on a competitive setting. And not feel like they stand no chance in less than one turn or are forced to participate in using the same exact meta deck to even have a chance. Keep them separated plz, than maybe I’ll come back to this.

This is what the game has become…
Yu-Gi-Oh, use to be about strategy, now all you need to do is not be first, because if you are? Surrender best option, it has devolved into who has the most meta deck and if the cards sound like each other? Then you are solid, what happened? I literally went to the kitchen, got a drink, and forgot I was playing the game, I come back and my opponent was STILL making moves. This game was created to be an alternative to Magic the gathering because it was easier to get into it and get going, but this is getting ridiculous, there is no strategy, when you can take 5 mins and summon a god killing card that can’t be repel with effects or battle in one single move, at this point magic the gathering sounds better than Yu-Gi-Oh, there’s nothing fun about this game like it was when it began.
