Overall the app works pretty good. It needs some serious improvements though. I shouldn’t have to log in every time I open the app, that’s a bit frustrating. If anything give us Face ID so it’s faster. I would also like to be able to create projects and send contracts/quotes to clients. It’s not quite as useful as I hoped it would be. I think you need a UI overhaul too. It feels outdated and I’m hearing honeybook is taking the lead because they have more frequent updates.
For some reason when I accept bookings on my 17hats app on my phone vs. on my laptop my clients start getting every correspondence double time. For example: 2 of the same invoices which is extremely stressful to our clients. With how much we pay and the time we have put in trying to make this program truly work for our business, we are pretty frustrated by how unprofessional this issue makes our business look. I’m doing nothing different on my mobile app than I would on my laptop to accept bookings and start workflows. Going to make another complaint, but this has happened multiple times now which makes me not want to use the app all together. I’ve done lots of trouble shooting to see if it was a “user error” but it’s happened again and I was so careful regarding what I clicked. When the app works, it’s great! I genuinely like using 17hats, but apps either work or don’t work, and this issue is intense enough for me to no longer rely on it. Fix the glitches and I’ll be back on the bandwagon.
I love 17 hats as a program, works great on my laptop and iPad but the app on my phone is so faulty and inconsistent. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. It’s frustrating because most of the time it’s NOT working on my phone. But when using on my computer it’s totally reliable and easy to use. Please fix the app already…it’s been years and this is something that will make me switch programs eventually.
I like this app but I don’t love it. It doesn’t allow me to do everything I can do through the website. I downloaded the app so I can use every feature of 17 Hats when I’m not on my computer but, unfortunately, this app doesn’t allow me to. Please give us the ability to do everything we can do through the website on the app.
It’s awesome having all of my client management in one place and at my fingertips thanks to 17hats and this app! As a photographer who travels a lot, it’s a must to be able to work from my phone and this does not disappoint! Plus getting those push notifications when you get a new Lead or get paid is a total highlight in my day!!
I’m very impressed with the full functioning App! A little disappointed I didn’t get any announcements as I took the app off over a year ago and just used the mobile browser. Now I just discovered they released a full functioning app 10 months ago. Better late than never.
That’s kind of concerning. Program is decent but needs improvement. For example, receiving a notification about a contract being accepted, clicking on it, and being sent to a blank page. Something like that should have been fixed by now.
I can not tell you how great 17 hats is! The customer service is extremely helpful and knowledgeable and responds quickly. This app makes owning my own business a breeze with client management. I can’t imagine life without it. Thank you! Xx - G
It's the only app that can run my ENTIRE business from the palm of my hand. I love how everything I do from the desktop version of 17hats can also be done within the mobile version as well!
Whenever I click on a notification it goes to a blank white page. How have they not fixed this yet? Why doesn’t it remember my login information or have the ability to know it’s a login situation. Every time I want to login I have to manually type in my login information. So frustrating!
The app used to work well but now every time I launch it it goes to a blank screen. Seems like they haven’t updated it to work with recent iOS changes. Pretty disappointing as I really need to access client information when I’m out on the road.
This app has shown a blank screen for 2-3 months now. It’s making us rethink our options as we are on the road often and tired of having to use the clunky safari option. Please fix this!
I absolutely love the desktop version of 17hats. It has helped my workflow and kept me more focused on what I need to do from day to day. Also love that I can have contracts, quotes, invoices, and bookkeeping all in one place. Would really love to see more functionality in the app and more freedom to do all of the things the desktop site allows. I'm super disappointed in the app seeing as the only reason I can find for it to be useful would be the calendar, but every time I click on the calendar section the app closes then after the 4th or 5th time it'll make me log back in. Please update the features and fix the bugs!!
I’ve been a valid customer with 17hats from the day they launched back in 2014! My life has been less chaotic since they have been a part of my businesses. I can’t say enough about 17hats and their support team. When I need support they ARE THERE! I’m a photographer and I also own a second business curated kayak excursions and 17hats is my go to app for ALL my emails, quotes, automated invoicing and automated thank you’s. Bookkeeping is kept clean as well with 17hats. Sure there’s work to be done on the front end in setting up your business templates that allow workflows to work effortlessly. At one time I spent more time than was necessary sitting in front of my computer putting emails & quotes together. That’s not the case anymore! They work themselves through automation. I could be driving my car and I automatically get a lead form which automates a quote which automates a contract which automates an invoice. It’s called workflow and it truly has changed my life! As the story goes hard work has its rewards. Thank you to 17hats for their hard work in making a great software program for photographers and small business owners like me:-) I love the attitudes of these people! They make working FUN!!
There are two things that I pull out my mobile device to check in regards to 17hats and those things are my clients address/on-location address (on my way to their session) and my calendar so that when I am speaking face to face with a client I can set up a date for another session or in person sales. It was super clunky trying to find this information using my mobile browser so I was really looking forward to the app release. Unfortunately the app contain neither of those things. It has the projects on your calendar for the next three days only. It shows client phone numbers and email addresses but no address. An address that I could click and open up Google Maps would be AMAZING. Being able to see my calendar and add an event to a project would be extremely helpful. The only helpful thing I can see now is that a completed questionnaire can be easily seen in the upcoming events so I can check my phone rather than opening my laptop while I'm prepping for a session in my prop room.
As a photographer there are more times than I can count that I am not at my desk to send invoices and take payments. I hate that this app does not allow for that feature. I also haven’t gotten a bug fix update in about a year so my system crashes more times than it works. Anytime I try to send a system report the send button doesn’t work. If I try to rate the system and give feedback it locks me out. So, now I am putting it here in hopes that someone will actually take the time to invest into fixing the app to make it more user friendly while we are away from our computers. I would also like to see my “activity” page update. It has not rebooted since December. So, all of what is showing is not relevant to March. Please! Fix this app I really do NOT want to have to switch over to Honey book or Dusabdo. I don’t want to have to switch over all of my clients information. I would really like to stay where I am. Please fix this app!!! The system is fantastic and I don’t want to leave but I also need to make MONEY outside of my desktop.
As a photographer most of my appointments and scheduling are done over the phone not at my desk. Spoke to your tech-support which has instructed me that this is only for looking at your projects and leads. Then why are you attempting to make it possible to put in new appointments send templates etc. I put in one date I put in one time and it does not go in the way I put it. Your customer service just chalking this up to well it is what it is is unacceptable. Trying to use 17 hats on any browser on a mobile phone is also impossible. Again customer service does nothing to fix the problem. This is cost a lot of money for a yearly subscription. I expect it to work no matter where I am not just sitting at my desk. If this was developed by an actual photographer I find it very hard to believe that a mobile device is not functioning even better than a desktop should
Does nothing more than take up precious space on my phone. I had high hopes for this app but have been sorely disappointed from day one. The calendar, which now gives you the option to see upcoming months, doesn't actually show events or appointments for anything other than the current month. It freezes up entirely when trying to access documents within a workflow and still doesn't allow for documents to be edited or sent. Frankly, I fail to see the point of having installed this app as it needs major improvement to be even moderately useful. Edited June 2016. I didn't think this app could get any more useless, but it did! Now it won't even launch...simply crashes every time I open it. Seriously? What's the point of having installed it in the first place?
I starting using (paying for) 17hats because I liked the computer version interface and abilities. We were promised an app "soon". A year later it came out and it is essentially useless. I can't do any of the things I really need it for so I am still signing onto 17hats through my web browser which is super inconvenient. This is really such a disappointment since I was under the impression the app would give us the same capabilities that the site does but instead I can look at documents sent and look at clients info and projects. Not helpful in the slightest. Unfortunately I am so deep in my use of the desktop version it's going to be hard to switch to a system with a better app so hopefully they create something that's actually helpful and worth the money we pay.
I loved this program, and used it for a business I ran (Really did help with everything). However, their customer service is non-existent. I closed my account back in December, and they kept charging my checking account without my knowledge. It got so bad that the bank charged off my account and sent me to collections! I’m in the process of disputing the charges/bad marks on my chexsystems report, but this shouldn’t have happened to begin with. At the very least give us a phone number for a human to talk to (Could’ve been resolved in a few min), but no - it had to get this far. I tried emailing them via their ‘contact us’ form and never got a reply. Fix your customer service if you’re a business friendly company!
I LOVE using 17hats on my desktop. As a business owner and busy mom, I don't always have time to get on my computer to send an invoice or contract. I was stoked when this iPhone app was released, thinking it would allow me an easy way to add clients and projects. Nope. I can add a client but I can't add projects so it's basically useless. Please please please add this feature soon! UPDATE: I can now add projects (yea!) which is helpful but I'd still love to be able to send invoices and contracts from the app. I have confidence that this will be a feature that will be offered in the future. I still love 17hats for all I need to keep organized.
First - thank you for making an app. You know you needed it, we know you needed it. Thank you for listening to your customers Second- people are frustrated. Me too. The release of this thing was maybe premature or maybe too wide spread. Positioned as a 17 hats app indicates full functionality. Had it been positioned as 17 hats client capture, expectations could have been better set. Third- please, please please let the first thing you add be to-do list functionality. I keep trying to go through my daily agenda on my phone and can't. I can't even access the to-do items I've set from my desktop. This is the thing I was most hoping for and am deeply disappointed by its absence.
All the key aspects of the 17hats software, and it's complete "usefulness" are not found within this app. As a subscriber, we've been waiting months and months for this app as the online software isn't mobile friendly, even though it's 2016, and figured that should be a given at this point. All you can do is look at current projects, though you cannot make changes, create contracts, questionnaires, invoices, or... Pretty much anything. All you can do is look and add contact info. It's a glorified contacts app in its current state, and they had over a year to get this mobile app right before release. I'm not waiting on an update, I'll be changing to a different system. They lost a customer with this garbage.
I'm really liking it so far, love the way it compartmentalizes everything, I think it is really helping. The work flows seem very powerful and overwhelming to set up so far. Same with life cycles. I'm still having to do a lot of things manually which I'm hoping to correct. There is not a way to reconcile the bank ledger so be careful with that. There are definitely areas that need improvement but I feel like they are a growing company and do support the product. Their chat windows work great for support.
I believe in 17Hats, I do. It's got the making of a great future application, desktop browser or native mobile app. However, right now, the app is essentially a dashboard. The beauty of having an all-in-one CRM, project management, AR/AP app is for granular functionality between business operations that rely on data relationships. I know the iOS app release was delayed, and I am empathetic to how challenging it can be to get a fully functional Apple app created and running, but I would have rather waited for more functionality to be included before downloading this app as is; it feels like a beta release. Looking forward to full functionality to match the desktop version on the native mobile app.
I just started up a business and before I knew it I had a bunch of clients, contracts and invoice to keep track of. 17hats is simple and easy to navigate, you create a contact, add a project then everything goes in there to keep track of and edit. You can see when clients view documents and sign them. I also appreciate the sense of humor in their tutorials, made me feel like I had a business partner.
I love 17Hats, they make running my business so much easier. With that said I'm out of my office a lot and the app is a great time saver when I can do what I need on it. What I meN by that is not all the features are available on the app. I wish I had access to my notes from a project, could write quotes, edit invoices, use the timer, etc. I know it's just a matter of time until they get more jammed packed into the app but I wish it was all here already.
I'm liking the fact that you guys are working on making 17Hats mobile app better...
Thank you for spending the time to making this app better than just a viewing app but rather a functional and useful tool. I spend a lot of time on the road and a computer is not always available or convenient and so it's really great that I'm able to do at least some of the important functions from the app while on the go. Keep hammering at it guys, I appreciate you.
I love what 17hats offers in their web platform. It's perfect for a small virtual assistance business like mine. What is frustrating about the app, however, is that there is no way to create an invoice for a client on my phone or iPad. There have been several times when I have needed to send an invoice quickly while I'm away from my desk or laptop and haven't been able to. It's really my only complaint about 17hats overall!
Did you really mean to release this app before it had any of the useful features we all use 17hats software for? The app is currently an address book & frankly, my iPhone contact list is more useful. I can see a project and invoice, but the details of the project aren't there, can't see contracts, can't create ANYTHING except a new contact, can't even send contracts and invoices previously created on the actual site. I was so excited with the announcement of this app, but it is completely pointless. I can only assume that the 5 star reviews are reviews of 17hats itself and not the actual app. Hopefully, they will add actual features soon.
It logs me out every time I close the app - which if it's a security feature would love to see option to integrate with fingerprint sensor because otherwise it's just agitating. As other reviewers have said it's a really stripped down version of the web app - I pretty much can't use the app when on the road which kind of defeats the purpose. I just decided to subscribe to the service this last month to try it out for a while but if these kinds of things are fixed I probably won't stick with the platform.

I know Linked In founder is famous for the quote "If you're not embarrassed by your first release, you waited too long" but this is a bit silly. I've been waiting to purchase an annual subscription to 17 hats to see what the app looks like, because I really need a mobil option. This app is really bad. At the very least you need to make it so that the to-do items can be checked off. This also really needs, of all things, a timer capability (with a pause button, please!!). I really hope you guys are scrambling to get the next version out.
The best part about having the app on my phone is having my schedule at my finger tips. It’s hard to create a new appointment and have it be at the correct time and date. I also have to delete and re-download the app once in awhile because my schedule isn’t updating to my app. I like the idea of the app but it needs some streamlining work to fix those little annoyances and make it easier on us as business owners!
I was so excited when I received an email this afternoon saying that the iOS app for 17hats was finally released. I downloaded it and logged in and I was greatly disappointed. Right now it basically works as a glorified address book. It's great for viewing your current projects and adding or editing contact info, but there isn't even the ability to add a new project at this time. I will revisit my rating when the developers revisit the purpose that 17hats is supposed to serve and the iOS app reflects that. Very disappointed.
I love 17Hats. I rely on it for everything. The app isn’t great, though, because many features are lost. Luckily, though, I can do that on my mobile internet. What you should consider is making the app better for the bookkeeping and integrate a milage tracker and receipt upload to merge in with the bookkeeping. We all need those anyway, you’re missing those vital features! Help a sister out and give us milage and receipts in the app.
This is more about the service than the app. The app is still catching up. But it will get there. Seriously, these people rock! I'm consistently blown away by the product and their customer service. They make running my business so much easier. They take a ton of stress out of my life, keep me organized and keep tons of money in my pocket. Best service for a business owner ever!
Kinda bummed. The app is less functional than the mobile site. It doesn't include bookkeeping functions, which is half the reason I use 17hats. And maybe this is a bug that will be fixed in the future, but I can't view contracts that already exist in my projects. You can't create documents either (at least I don't see an option for it). So you can't create a invoice, contract or quote from the app. I'm starting to wonder what the point of the app is. Love the desktop service, but the app is a disappointment thus far.
I absolutely love 17 hats, I've been using them for a couple years now and I adore their service. However their app needs a lot of work. I should be able to send emails, contracts and invoices from within the app. The fact that you can't send anything, just makes this app a fun thing to look at. It would be nice if I use tasks more often but if you don't use them on the web app then the iPhone app won't be much help.
So this app has proven even more useless than I originally expected. Yes I appreciate the effort. But man, you really can't boast an excellent app that you have been supposedly developing for 2 years is coming and launch a glorified address book that, to be blunt, really doesn't even work. Honestly this doesn't even resemble 17hats in the slightest. I really enjoy the website. It has a lot of features that work well. Yes many that don't work, but many that do. The most handy feature of the website is the templates. At least put my saved templates in there. And I may consider boosting it to a 3 star rating. But even that is pushing it. I know these reviews are discouraging and I am assuming that the makers are reading each one with a cold sweat and a sickening stomach. But remember folks, the Apple 1 was a flop. I think we all know how that story ends ;) I really hope this is your Apple 1.
I think it is good as a first version. Would love projects to be organized by project date so it is easy to find the ones that are the most recent. On the To-Dos, it would be good to know what workflow each to-do item corresponds with. And would of course like the option to send emails, edit projects and add new projects. I'm sure most of that will come out with the next update!
I haven't been using it long but it's so nice to have everything in one place. I'm just trying to catch up with all my transactions and financials and input all my workflows I've already worked on and used elsewhere. This is just what I needed as I struggle to keep organized as a business owner with ADHD. Thank you 17Hats!
I know they have spent a great deal of time trying to get the app just right. This is definitely a solid start. Realistically, much more needs to be added in order to be truly useful. Albeit, I am very happy with the overall function and layout. They've done a good job. I look forward to the coming updates and additions to the app!!! Great job 17hats!!
The desktop version of 17hats has come a long way since I️ started with them, there seems to barely any improvement in the app since it launched. I️ certainly hope they intend to improve the usability. As of right now it is essentially useless. If I’m not in front of my computer, I’m better off using the browser than this app and that doesn’t work well either. Very disappointing user experience for a very important component of a well functioning client management system.
I was really excited about the app when it first came out. However, it is very unreliable. When I open the app to look at projects, it immediately crashes. If it does happen to work, it's not very helpful. Trying to add a lead seems to work fine, but I can't change the default calendar once I set up the project. So, I have to remember to go in and change the calendar on my computer later. The only reason I open the app now, is to look at an invoice....and it usually crashes. Sad day :(
I have to use the web version on my phone to get anything done. Can't add to the calendar, can't view or edit to-do lists, can't view all of the info. for each contact including notes, can't send invoices?!, Looks nice but not functional. In this app you should be able to do everything you can do on the web version, or at least the basic things listed above that you would need to do for your business on the go.
It's easy to learn. Intuitive. Stable. And offers features that I have not even thought of. I have suggested it to many others. I'm a wedding pastor and it's perfect for me to keep all my brides and their weddings on track and organized. I can't do my job and ministry without it.
I was introduced to 17hats during a vendor meeting roughly 5 months ago. I had previously asked via the chat option about an app to accompany the online product. I was so excited to receive the email about the apps release.
