Accela updated something again and now inspection pictures can’t be uploaded through the Mobile app, creating substantial cost to us in wasted time. Our organization pays a lot to Accela for the privilege of using their software. Please stop compelling your users to beta test your junk for free.
They replace this app with a previous version. The previous version was way more user-friendly easier to look through the notes to find an inspection and the notes that were put in for it you could open up multiple notes at one time this new app you have to click three times and then back out click three times and then back out it is three times plus the work to look up an inspection note. It was easier to search addresses on the old app. The old App the prominent letters were the address now it’s the inspection whether it be a groundwork or a top out. The inspectors that I work with are all in agreement. That it would be easier if the address was the prominent to sort out where we’re going for the day. Also, the old app had color coatings when you approve something or rejected something so it was easier to see what I’ve been done for the day. It is hard to make your list in the morning with this new app. I wish they would bring back the old app or bring back a lot of the features of that the old app have.
This app has been completely non-functional for several people in the department, not even getting past login. You could not find a less functional app than this. Once you do enter, none of the promised features are even remotely functional. All processes are extremely slow. I can only imagine how terribly their software is designed and/or how lacking whatever servers might be needed to run this software is in capability. If you can avoid choosing this company and software I highly recommend selecting a different company. Accela has since abandoned development support after missing deadline after deadline.
We work for local government using Accela internally and Accela Mobile App in the field. Recently we have experienced that all of our locations for inspections show up in another country “Africa” on the location pins. We can no longer use the maps within this app. Really hurts our productivity now.
I have used the Accela inspector app but now that they switched over. I cannot log on. I keep getting an error message that the checklist is missing but no one can figure it out. It’s been a month and we have work to do. Please fix. Thanks
I work for a large local government and we have used Accela for years now. We recently began using the mobile app and it it’s TERRIBLE. With the most recent update the app does NOT WORK at all. I am not able to scroll down or up on any pages. The worst part is that you are no longer able to look up comments left by any other individual other than yourself, which defeats the purpose of the app. I have tried un installing and re installing the app several times to no avail. This failure of an app is costing tax payers a untold amount of time and money in my jurisdiction . The only reason I’m leaving a 1 star rating is because 0 is not an option
The app needs a lot of work to be as effective as Accela Inspector. I do like some of the ease of functionality but it still has too many bugs at the moment. For instance: I have uninstalled and reinstalled this app several times because of frozen white screens when I was attempting to re submit an outstanding inspection. I also notice that you do not get to the rate screen unless you enjoyed using the app.
Adding the schedule option should allow for an pending inspection to be scheduled from within the app. Currently users have to log on to Accela desktop platform to schedule inspections. “Reschedule”creates a whole new inspection and “add inspection” creates a whole new inspection in the system.
Changes in the latest release are great. It’s nice having search in the Home Screen. The on my way text is a nice addition for letting contractors know when I’ll arrive at the job site.
When this app works it’s slowly improving all the time. The biggest issue I have is that it’s not reliable. Sometimes it works and I can access all the features that are now available but sometimes I get a white login screen that hangs. Other times the app crashes frequently. It’s hit or miss. Also the app is slow to update after an Apple OS update. I don’t think the app is very well supported.
Horrible platform whether the app or the full desktop platform. So much that we were told we could do when we got this platform and we can’t. I’ve been using this for a year and a half and they still can’t get the mobile platform to work.
The recent update has caused our inspector department to look like buffoons. We are not able to even log in most days, we can’t look up previous corrections, etc. Biggest waste of taxpayer money ever. Can we get a zero rating?
Not very intuitive. Do dissimilar from accela inspector it was difficult to adapt. Also O still have found how jobs are removed from job list after completion. Very frustrating after having experience with the other accela product.
We were going to try to use this app as a workaround to the fact that Inspector crashes when you try to add photos to the inspection record (for over 18 months now; how long does it take to fix that?). But this app lists a bunch of closed cases as my outstanding inspections to complete. Code Officer already has that same problem too, making it only good for opening new cases. With this app only doing what Code Officer does wrong, I don’t know why they went to the trouble of creating this app. I wish they would focus their energy on fixing the issue with Inspector instead of spawning new products that don’t add any value to our job.
We’ve been working (trying to work with) the existing building inspector and code officer apps and have had limited success with each, keyword being limited. The apps lack the ability to intuitively work with workflow and especially the inspector app just doesn’t work period for what a building inspector needs to be able to do in the field. THIS app, while a good first attempt, severely lacks some of the most important functionality. Yes you can work through inspections that are assigned to you, but you can’t search for records that you aren’t assigned an inspection for. You also can’t see what other inspections might be active around you. The “map” within the record doesn’t work at all. You would think after having a few existing applications there would be more functionality built into the new application that is eventually supposed to replace the existing applications.
