It’s unreal that a company responsible for developing UX and UI to make the underlying software usable could put something like this out. The interface doesn’t make any sense. How do I work on a task? How do I update the progress of a task? What am I supposed to do with this app? Am I just supposed to kind of look around at things and just kind of know they exist somewhere in the company? There is truly no indication of how I as a user am meant to utilize this app. Do I use it to message back and forth on tasks? Where is my home interface that is useful to me? Do I mark progress or check off subtasks in a way that updates the progress bar and informs others? Beyond putting labels and tabs into an app I have no clue what’s been done here to make this an actual tool. It’s simply aggregating a bunch of underlying software functions from the desktop product, and kinda calling them into an app I guess? You took a lot of ingredients, many raw, put them on a plate and slide it messily across the table and said here’s your meal. Could you take a little UX time and UI work to actually chef the ingredients into an award winning and incredibly useful experience? Perhaps and undeniably effective core interaction loop? Cmon yall. You are microsofting yourself so hard right now. Lots of people make software. Not many make useable products that pull ahead of the pack and endear users to be obsessed and love the product. Be the latter.
I never make reviews, but i had to for this app Don't even know where to start, absolutely *nothing* works right Get logged out constantly, have to log in repeatedly. Logging in a 4 step process, and doing it every time i open the app is awful Unusable interface, makes it not even worth going through. Confusing, unclear where anything is. None of the options of the web version. Some things you just cant do in any way on app Ill get a notification, open it, then the app restarts, i hve to log back in, but workfront loses whatever it was, and it disappears forever When notifications come in-app, after clicking on them, they disappear and there is no clear way to access it. If it wasn't a buggy mess, the messy interface would make it unusable. I will never forgive my job for making me use this every day. I probably would have more complaints, but having to log in 500 times, ive completely given up don't even use it anymore. 1 star is too high of a rating
I saw an update so I thought I would try this again after two sorry attempts. I would love to have a functional app for Work Front. However I’m in some kind of a login loop where get taken to an intro page have no way to access the app except to login again and get back to the same promo page. I found a support number on the page but it’s no longer in service. I thought about using the digital assistant, but we all know how that would end. I have begged our Adobe reps for years to hire usability experts.
This app used to be good for at least seeing and replying to messages if nothing else. Now I can’t even log in to my company account. I hope Adobe is working on revamping the app. Maybe, don’t try to fit everything into it and focus on just the messaging feature for now. That’s what I used to use the mobile app for almost exclusively. Keep it simple!
I just updated the app and I am now not getting any approvals or notifications showing up, even thoough the app shows 22 on the icon. I also heard that video files cannot be reviewed on the app which is ridiculous considering After Effects is an Adobe product
The app is difficult to use, links from Workfront don’t open the app - I just get a page that their old app doesn’t work (that’s fine, but I have this new one installed). The old app was garbage too, I’m not sure why I expected this one to function better.
How, as a company, are you not deeply ashamed to have a product thus terrible on the market. It’s like if a restaurant knowingly and proudly served plates of poo. Or rather, just threw the poo at you from the kitchen in lieu of service. Like, groundbreakingly terrible, and with no signs you’re working to make it any better.
The App doesn’t work. It’s clear the developer doesn’t care enough to create a working product. New projects and tasks are not loading. I can see 8 proofs in my email but nothing in workfront
Use Workfront at my company, where I manage a team of designers and the app is not workable. It never stays logged in or remembers my login information/settings. Proofs have to open in a separate “Workfront Proof” app with the same login issues. And then the interface is not built for an iPhone, so there’s buttons that you can’t even click because it’s slightly off your screen. Previously, I’ve had so much success reviewing documents from my phone with Adobe Acrobat review links and I can’t understand for the life of me why Adobe isn’t able to pull that same setup into their Workfront App(s).
The company I work for uses Workfront and SSO to login. With every other update, the SSO-login capability of this app is knocked out. When I first downloaded the app a couple months ago, I was able to login. A few updates later, and I’m no longer able to login. When I was able to use the app, it was fine. I just needed it to keep up with the status of tasks quickly, which it did fine. It’s unfortunate and I’m surprised this is coming from an Adobe product. Surely, now that Adobe owns Workfront, the Workfront team can lean on Adobe for more programming support.
Makes the challenging job of maintaining a project even harder
I’m not a big fan of the Workfront web application, but it does its job. This app, however, does away with project views in favor of searches and filters (neither of which returns meaningful results, btw) and forces me into a different workflow that isn’t compatible with how my team works. What I want this app to be is a mobile-friendly version of the website, which might be asking too much because the website itself is in no way responsive. I gave it two stars because notifications come through. But they don’t always show me the notification’s content.
On both my iPhone and iPad this app keeps failing to open saying that each device’s time is set incorrectly. It refers me to my Settings, but there is nothing to fix there and any changes I do try have no effect on Workfront. I also find Workfront on my desktop a woeful disappointment, with a poorly laid out interface and no clues about making any of it work better. I’m surprised at how much worse the last upgrade made it. I hope some big revamp is in the works. Until then it is essentially useless to me and actually eats up my time.
If I could give it no stars, I would. I can’t remember the last time the app actually worked. In the last few months, as many times as I’ve tried to open the app, it crashes right away or for some reason says “session expired on login” and then crashes again. Even when the app was somewhat working, the design was not user friendly whatsoever - and this is coming from a quality assurance specialist. This app needs a major do over asap. Super inconvenient when working on the go.
I’ve been using this app for a year and a half. Mostly for notifications and to reply and view proofs when I’m away from my desk. This app randomly logs you out, and randomly will stop giving you notifications even when you have them on. Scrolling back over seven years of reviews and Adobe has yet to address there issues. If this was a more useful app, I would even be willing to pay for it. Do better Adobe!
I signed into to my account on my browser - used the same credentials in the app and doesn’t work. Adobe is shameless. To add insult to injury, the default developer response in these feedback posts is to link reviewers to a site to log their issue. I’ve seen it across the board. You make an inferior product and your response to feedback is to ask that person to go spend more time logging an issue? Nope. You log it. Better idea. You fix it and get back to me.
Grateful for some of the basic functionality and simplicity of accessing current items; it’s been helpful to be more mobile. But the main thing I use Workfront for — commenting on proofs — is nearly unusable because of a strange keyboard issue when accessing proof comments. The keyboard resets, skips letters, removes caps/shifts, and takes ages to write with. (This is not the case when typing in other parts of the app, so it’s not inherent to my keyboard.)
I'm not an app developer, but it seems to me just like how nowadays you just design one responsive site, I would imagine app interfaces should follow suit and not depend on the device. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems like no excuse to not have a tablet-friendly app, when on the web interface I'm prompted "Try Our App" (you'd think it's smart enough to know what device I'm on) Interface is fast and easy - faster than the computer version, so that's nice. It's easier to find my way around here vs the overwhelming web interface. Long file names (at top) are not fully visible when in a project. That's crucial esp when project creation is out of most tiered users control. More to come. I've only approved and commented a few times so far.
Trying to manage work from Mobile app in 2022 should be easy but not with this app. The Home Screen is promising but try to dig into projects and it terrible. Difficult to see the data on screen - you can see part of the data on screen but not near enough. I know it will not be same experience as the platform but it shouldnt be this difficult. It seriously needs to be better than this. It is honestly useless in my opinion.
Obviously this isn’t the exact same as the desktop. Per usual, mobile apps are usually the bones of the desktop version. This does everything I need it to do when I’m on the go. A bit challenging to maneuver at first but once you figure it out it is perfect!
A recent update broke the SSO sign in our organization uses giving use the error “address invalid” making the app useless. When the app is working it is significantly limited in functionality compared to the web app. In the app you have to have things assigned to you to show on your home, be in a notification, or you use the search and know exactly what you are looking for. There is no accessing the projects or team queries in the app.
Workfront is simply the best work management service available. This app allows me to access the information I need quickly and intuitively. Great collaboration features. I especially like being able to log time and easily jump to the proofing capabilities.
I’m quite shocked at the five star reviews and find it hard to believe. This app is beyond frustrating. Disjointed, comments not loading fully, typing experience/input is incredibly poor. I am forced to grab a link and log into the desktop app (though not responsive) through safari on my phone, which is equally as bad, but at least I can see the full comments. Both web and app need major UI/UX improvements, but more so on the app.
This is fabulous and a great way to keep on top of work when away from the office. It also allows for projects to still continue if the stakeholder isn't able to get to a desktop computer to comment on a project.
The app (recently?) was updated and it went from barely functional to completely useless. I have authenticate a dozen times before it actually lets me log in and when it does I can’t find half the projects I’m scheduled on. The timesheet function is awful. I’m not sure their catering to when WF designed the app but it isn’t my crowd. 👎👎 0/10 would recommend.
This is a great app! It enables me to get to projects and tasks quickly, and the performance is great. I also like that I can get to boards as well. I can now be productive when I am away from my desk!
I find this app great for accessing essential work items, including notifications. I like the ability to change my interface and to improve the experience would request more intuitive ways to navigate.
The app was great when it came out and, with this latest update (version 1.7) which lets you search objects as well as edit and log time to projects, it keeps getting better.
Just downloaded the app and looks easy to use, however, it keeps crashing.I wrote an update on an issue/task and wanted to change the status to "close" and when I tried to do that the app closed. I tried this multiple times. Very annoying. Please fix! Thanks!!
Read all the reviews before downloading but though by now Adobe would have fixed it. Same thing as everyone else. Can’t login using any of the methods. I can’t stand that Adobe has the creative market locked up. If there was competing software they would be out of business.
The best work management application in the business, and now finally a slick app to go along with it! Not to mention the streamlined integration with the ProofHQ app! Excited to see what is next for Workfront.
Put in a Workfront request to FIX the app. Respond to developer comments: try to approve a timesheet and then go back to approve another. No refresh. It is making the app useless when you have many approvals. There are a ton of BAD design elements to the app. From login in to navigation to functionality. And if you need feedback make it easier to receive some.
Whenever I enter our company SAML URL it redirects me to a web browser to login, but the browser asks if I want to open the app. If I do that, it redirects me back to the app; if I cancel it does nothing. If I sign in first on the browser then launch the app, the behavior is exactly the same. Bottom line is that I never get past the login URL screen in the app. Useless.
The app is a terrific addition for Workfront users. A+ Lots of new features! If you haven’t checked it out in awhile you need to see all the new features.
Upgraded to latest version 4.2.2 for iPhone hoping to see improvement. Instead app frequently quits without warning. Features are limited. Mainly use it to read notifications.
It literally feels like the app and desktop version aren’t connected at all! The app is impossibly difficult to use! I end up using he desktop version even when on my phone because the is unusable.
The app has definitely improved as of late, but a lingering issue still remains. Anything typed into the web application is not rendered correctly into the iOS app. For example, quotes (“”), special characters, show up with HTML encoding
Works great to see updates, notifications, contacts in Workfront, and now even with proofing now with the ProofHQ app (if you have it installed). This is great stuff!
Great for quick task management. Needs Agile Boards support.
When doing regular tasks management, it’s okay. It’s hard to determine changing certain task details, though. The biggest thing that would be helpful is Agile Board view and management.
Tried to access workfront via mobile safari on iOS, but it displays a message that you are required to use this app. Okay, great. Attempted to log on to the app, but I’m in an endless loop due to SSO (“your session timed out). Wasted my time and I can’t focus on my work.
Was excited for the new version and it's definitely improved and will help with workflow. Can now add time to tasks but until it has a timesheet it will never be 5 stars
Would love to see a way to input new requests from the app. Also would like to be able to easily add an update to a request / project you have created but do not own the work.
This app is useless. It’s sized incorrectly for current gen mobile and won’t let you select any menu options until you are within an inch of throwing your entire phone across the room. Horrible, frustrating, trash app.
