I’m an 18 year old girl in college right now, and Alinea has empowered me to start investing and becoming more interested in learning about stocks and different companies. I grew up in a fairly conservative household where we never really talked about finances. While my dad works in finance and has his own stock portfolio, he never explained it to me, and would even sometimes talk about how risky it was and how I should never engage in it. I was worried, even as I wanted to start investing. I came across Alinea on TikTok and after doing some research, I decided to start of with $10. I love the way that it is so easy to use the app and how I can see how the stock has changed over time, but my favorite part of the app is the news articles and instagram story type of overview of news. It can sometimes feel really overwhelming to read the financial news because of the level of information, but Alinea’s sentence-summaries are super intriguing, and it has helped me understand and want to learn more. It has truly changed my life and given me power to invest and grow in a way that I never would have imagined.
Been looking for an app like this for a while, and after seeing it on TikTok, so I decided to download it. The user interface makes it very easy to use and it’s aesthetically pleasing. The issue I have with it is the investors spend more time making ads, then actually being active on other platforms. I attempted to research before actually investing and getting into the app. They have a Discord that they aren’t even active on and the TikTok account that they have for this is mainly just add to not actually how to use the app or tips or anything. It could be a very good app, but I feel like I’ve basically had to go into this blind, because there was no one you can actually ask for about information. They offer a zoom call but it's hard to get in contact with a human being. Even on their website, the most recent article was from forever ago. I’m not quick to judge the app, but I am quick to judge the creators and their lack of presence. i’ve tried to get people to start a conversation in the Discord so that I could have an understanding and so that others can have an understanding, but it seems the creators are just not there nor do they want to check it. I want to learn more, I want to earn more, but how can I know what do to without some guidance?

This is definitely a first step to investment for me I have never invested before but with all the ads I saw and how easy it seemed I joined! I invest a little every month and it’s been awesome to see it grow and change daily. Though it’s scary and daunting I haven’t lost anything yet! And thought my earnings are little it’s more than I would have made if that money stayed inactive in a bank account. That mindset changed it all for me. It’s easy to do, the steps are simple and they even provide you news about the company’s in your portfolio which is super cool. They also give you a quiz at the beginning that helps them better understand you as an investor so you don’t have to be risky if you don’t want to! It also give you options to invest in your interest and women owned companies which is so awesome! This has definitely given me a new and positive perspective on investing that I would never have gotten without the help of this app. It’s not daunting at all and makes me excited for more in the future :)

My favorite thing about the app is the people behind it: they care so much about their mission to make investing more accesible to communities that might normally be left out. They also have clearly put their all into building this app and they are constantly seeking feedback for users on how to improve. Being part of Alinea truly feels like I’m part of something so much bigger than myself. I’ve had the privilege of meeting one of the founders, Eve, and I could see her passion for what she does radiate out of her. The people behind Alinea are kind, brilliant, and passionate. On a personal level, Alinea what launched an interest in finance for me- it made me feel like, for the first time, that I could invest it stocks and it wasn’t just for people who were already wealthy. I am forever grateful to Alinea.
I originally downloaded this because of TikTok, but now it’s actually making me excited to invest. I’m not sure what they could do to make the app better. The only suggestion I have is that when you click one of the companies that you invest in from the list along with showing you your data with the investment would also show you all the basic info of that company as well instead of having to like search it. I’m not gonna lie I was reading other reviews that said it was a scam cause they couldn’t unlink their account so I got nervous and it’s definitely a process to unlink but I was able to do so. I haven’t been able to withdraw my money just yet cause you have to wait a couple weeks after the investment ends but I’ll update if I’m able to do that later I might have to relink my bank but I’m willing to do that. I also cancelled my membership before it could take effect but I’m still able to see all my info so I’m not sure if this is a scam but at this point I’m gonna go with it’s not a scam and the people who think it is are just impatient.
I originally downloaded Alinea last year around this time and, though it’s a great app, i didn’t want to start investing just yet. As it is stated when you sign up there is a yearly $85 fee and i had lacked to have seen that. I reached out asking for a refund because i just didn’t have money like that to spend. They’re customer service was awesome and they helped me get the money back + gave me a free year for the inconvenience. Fast forwarded a few months, i decided to deactivate my account since i hadn’t used it hardly thinking it would also end my subscription. I redownloaded the app and realized i had been charged the same $85 fee because my subscription was not cancelled. I contacted customer service and they helped me yet again to get a refund and to permanently end my subscription so it wouldn’t happen again. Definitely user error on my end, but they were really great for helping get my money back!! I will definitely come back in the future and use this app!!
I have always heard from social media about finance tricks and the importance of investing, but I felt like I never really knew how to do it in the first place. My school never really taught me these skills either. When I saw a video about Alinea on social media and hearing about their backstory, I felt like it was the perfect app to get started on investing. Everyday they post a instagram story styled summary on all the finance related stories that is happening in the world. You can also customize the businesses that you are investing in, by your values such as women owned or climate friendly. They can also auto invest for you. I have a certain amount of money set at the beginning of every month that automatically gets invested and it makes it so easy. While they can auto invest for you, what I love about it is also learning about what my investment does. Overall such an amazing app to learn about investing and I highly recommend it to everyone.
I first came across Alinea when I was scrolling through Tiktok, and as someone who is obsessed with becoming financially independent and supporting women founded businesses, Alinea was the perfect way for me to combine both. Alinea provides an excellent, comfortable, and easy guide to starting one's journey with investing. Whether it's through customized playlists based on causes you care about, or having an interactive interface to essentially "game-ify" investing, I think Alinea is an amazing platform for everyone, especially college students starting their journey with financial literacy and independence. In addition, I believe that Alinea's team is such a fantastic group of individuals who have continued to work and have conversations with me relating to school events and even being guest speakers. Alinea is a team that will continue to support you outside using their app and we need more of those kinds of companies, espeically now! Thank you Alinea and I cannot reccomend this app enough! <3
I’m enjoying the app so far! It does cost $120 for an annual membership, and the app lets you know that you have a 3-day free trial to cancel the app before paying for the membership. I simply wrote this down in my planner so that I could remind myself to cancel, if I wasn’t happy with the service. But I am! It’s easy to set up recurring deposits and even easier to find companies you’d like to invest in. The personal investment playlist feature is very creative, and I like that you can search other users’ playlists, see how successful they’ve been, and copy their playlist to add to your own. The app creators and developers have made it very easy to begin investing. If you’re not financially ready for the $120 membership fee, that’s understandable! But when you are, this is a great first time investor’s app. Hopefully the creators will add training/educational webinars soon!
As soon as you get into the app they immediately take out $200 from your account before you even agree to do anything or decide to even invest. This happened to me and of course i was in shock of $200 disappearing from my bank account especially because in a slot prepared for it and was only looking to explore the app as i did not have the funds at the time to invest. i asked for a refund in which they gave back but i never used the app after that and thought i deleted my account. To my surprise more than a year later i have been charged $120 out of nowhere when i don’t use the app and don’t even have it downloaded. I though i deleted my account the first time but i must have not. Again, im in shock from the disappearance of money from my bank and it’s at a time where i cannot financially support this. I’ve contacted them on the app and i get a response saying they’ll get back to me on the app or through email. It says that they’re “online”?? but they haven’t responded to me. It’s been 3 days and still nothing. Definitely don’t recommend with the way they just take money from your account without telling you. BIG SCAM!!

Hi, I am a 23 year old girl and I have never been super good with my money. I have always had the problem of getting a pay check and because I have the money at the moment why can’t I spend it? Well I have learned if I ever want to be financially stable I needed to start changing some habits. Originally growing up investing scared me, due to the fact that I did not have any type of education on it. I am still currently learning about investing but this app has helped me understand it more. I have invest some money and it is so fun to see how the market works and how my money can continue to grow! This app is great for first-time female investors, like myself. The chat feature is great when you need a little extra help or information, and they do get back to you in a reasonable timeframe. It is straightforward and easy to use, and I love the intro quiz so that you can have professionals invest with your risk comfort level in mind. The only caveat is that the newness of the app means some companies might not be available to invest on the app, especially those outside of the main US stock exchange. However, that is a small inconvenience compared to how amazing and user-friendly Alinea and the staff are. Overall, I love this app, and I’m already seeing growth after one month! I cannot recommend this enough, and have become excited and invested in my investments!
First, I love the story of this company. I’m a college student so knowing that college student started this fund and it is woman-based makes me very happy. Also love how different this app is by combining different investments to make what is called an investment playlist. I really enjoy that. As well as seeing what my portfolio looks like throughout the years so on and so forth. When I’ve dealt with other apps, it’s been very complicated and hard for me to decide what companies I want to make small investment into and see if I would gain anything back. But with this app, not only does it show you everybody who’s on the board, stakeholders, if you should, or should not invest at this time. I just really appreciate the background knowledge that you get from each company.
I downloaded the app to check it out, but after putting my information in I decided it wasn’t for me so I deleted it. I was looking at charges on my bank account yesterday, and I saw they had taken $120 from me without me even using their app. I looked into it and I guess as soon as you put in your information, they take $120 from you for a “membership” that you don’t even agree too. They claim they want to help beginners make money, but it seems like they are taking advantage of their vulnerable audience instead by immediately taking their money and not offering refunds. I did not even finish making an account yet and they took my money from me. I really thought these were people that wanted to help me, and I am extremely disappointed to learn otherwise. I would recommend looking elsewhere for investment help, there are people out there who really want to help you succeed when it comes to investing, but I don’t think this is it.
I cannot express how much I love this app. I’ve also learnt the most from this app compared to others such as Acorns or Robinhood. I feel like this is such a great app for people new to investing or that are terrified of it like myself. It makes it more accessible to the young female generation. I am less afraid of investing now and have learned more about finance, investing, and the companies im investing in. I live in the non city area of Colorado so we aren’t up to trends or anything like that. But when I’m learning about the market through Alinea I feel more confident about my investing decisions even though I’m not there to witness anyone of those trends or changes. I’ve been on Alinea for just over one year now and I adore it. It’s been the perfect platform for me to learn about the basics of investing, and begin to develop my financial skills. I adore their focus on investing that centers issues and ideas that are important to me like female leadership and environmental consciousness. I currently make use of both the self-directed and the automated investing tools, which allows me to explore myself while also being able to trust that my investments are being looked after by a reliable platform. I am inspired by its founders, who are engaging! I once got to communicate with them directly via TikTok about the app! I downloaded this app to check it out and accidentally ended up with a $120 charge on my card after realizing it was an expensive service. I was initially upset that they charged me when I didn’t think that I signed up for any kind of free trial, so I just emailed the contact listed and explained that I didn’t realize, knowing full well I probably just lost $120. However, I got an email back within hours and my money was refunded within a week. This app is not a scam, if anything! While I can’t actually attest to the quality of the app, I just wanted to say not to be scared of the page where you have to give them your bank account information because they aren’t just trying to take your money.
The customer service is very helpful. At first I was annoyed that I couldn’t invest because my account was under review. I know there are legal procedures. The customer service helped me quickly. They are very communicative. When I first got the app they ask for my opinion on its improvements. I like that they ask the consumers their opinions instead of deciding what improvements are needed among themselves. This app is pretty easy to use and honestly if you have a steady income this app would be great. It constantly puts money in your investment so you don’t have to. It also gives advice on when to buy, sell, hold etc. They give you instructional videos on how to read stocks. It is very beginner friendly. It helped me since I am still new to investing.

I feel like a video showing all of what Alinea can do, where each button leads, and where to find certain things would help a lot. With that said, this app is truly wonderful, and I know that with time one can get the hang of, both, the app and how to invest.

I want to start off and say this is my favorite app for investing! I’ve used robin & other ones but I really like this one especially cause it is woman founded. I like the educational snippets and news clips included in the app. My favorite is the slider that shows past investments & what they would be worth today. What I want to see is the actual growth on my stocks. When I buy more stocks it shoots up my graph which makes it look like my investments are wayyyyyy higher. I want the graph to just be the added value to the base money input. It’ll make it easier and more cool to track. Also I’m not a fan of the recent homepage update. I like the one from a couple weeks ago, it was easier to access stocks & to search for them before. Overall great app

I had little to no knowledge of investing before using Alinea. The stock market always felt super abstract—even scary? It felt like putting my money into a void with no understanding of what I was doing and how it was working. This app not only acts as a space to invest my money, it also helped to educate me in the process. I love the truly accessible way that knowledge/information is presented to the user, including the interactive models used in the app. Information is explained in simple terms for the beginner, and I feel like I was given a patience to learn that other apps, content creators, etc. did not allow beginners. I was always extremely intimidated by investing and never knew where to start. All it took was one TikTok from Alinea for me to start looking/learning. The biggest sense of comfort was this being a women owned and run app for us girlies ( and anyone else) to grow our money! The app is clear, concise, and easy to use adding a layer of trust and visibility for managing money. You’re able to use it as a social platform, having followers, stock alerts, recommended playlist, and freedom to glimpse into what others are investing for your own education and best interest. Every month I know the set amount that is going into my account with Alinea. All I have to do is sit back and watch my money grow. It has made investing simple and fun to do!
the Alinea app has been helping me learn more about the world of investing & breaks down how stocks really works within each company, and including the app itself! i also really love how the app is made & owned by women (whom are so absolutely AMAZING!!! 💕🥰for making this wonderful app for investing) I wasn’t very interested before since I didn’t know how all of that worked, but even reading the articles about which stocks to invest in and how much it will grow between 1 yr from now vs. 5 yrs ago (I look at that often to see what if I had invested that amount years ago!) I’ve been curious about investing for quite some time but never knew where to begin. Everything seemed so overwhelming and I just kept putting it off. I kept seeing Alinea ads pop up on my social feeds and decided to check it out because the story behind its founding really resonated with me as a woman who works in a male dominated industry. I really enjoy the simplicity of the platform. It’s incredibly easy to get started and you can start small which I enjoy. Now that I’ve had it a few months, I plan on branching out and learning even more. It’s been such a great beginner guide into something I knew nothing about, and the app itself is incredibly user friendly.

By investing how ever much money you wanna start with they will put percentages of your money into stocks they know will best suit your interest and will make you money over time. I enjoy checking back everyday and seeing all the changes in stocks. My favorite part is the stock tests, Alinea lets you take a test to see which stocks suit your interest! Without Alinea I would be lost in the stocks world and have no clue where to start!

I first saw this app advertised on TikTok. “Investments without me having to do it?” Sign me up! I was immediately interested. I downloaded the app and learned some more about it. I thought it was so cool to learn about investing, but didn’t have to stress about what I was doing because the app could help me do it. The creators of the app- GIRL GENIUSES. 💁🏼♀️👑 For a long time I wanted to know about stocks and how to invest, so downloading this app allowed me to do just that. I’m a college student and didn’t have a ton of extra time to learn it all or even know where to start with investing, so this app completely changed the game and I am so happy to have seen it advertised:)
The app does not inform you there is a $120 annual membership fee that will be discreetly deducted from the same account you link for the investments themselves, as it is not advertised this way AT ALL! I only found out because I was going over my monthly budget and sorting through my bank statements, besides it is lost upon me why this fee is quite THAT expensive to begin with. If I had known about this fee I would not have proceeded with the app until I was in a better financial position to put up this unexpected expense, which I’m sure was the developers whole plan by choosing not informing the users. Although a well designed app derived from a very smart concept, this truly disappointed me as I was very pleased with my experience thus far and feel deceived by the developers who claim they care about helping people learn to invest.
I have no comments about the app itself as I haven’t given myself the time to navigate but i’m sure it’s great. However they’re refusing to give me my money back. I mistakenly bought the subscription because I thought there would be a button for “confirm payment” or something as such, but it never popped up. I finished setting the account hoping it’d ask me to confirm the payment at the end but it didn’t, the payment was going through already. I contacted them immediately and they’re refusing to give me my money back. I haven’t even used the app and they seem to have a 24hr policy to get your refund back which I definitely met. Now they’re only offering me a 50% discount but $120 dollars can be a lot and it’d be 60 dollars I’d be losing on. They’re taking forever to respond although it says replies within 10 minutes. This has been extremely disappointing

I have to admit that I was skeptical when I saw an ad for Alinea but I decided to give it a try anyway. I only invested $10 at first just to see if putting more money in was worth it. In just two weeks, I already saw a return! Being a newbie in the world of investing, I love how easy Alinea makes investing. It makes your decisions for you (outside of how much money to contribute) or if you want more control, you can make your own. I also love that they show you the environmental impact a certain company has. You can even invest in LGBTQ-led and Black-owned businesses. It makes me feel good that I’m not only making money but that I’m contributing to a good cause.
seen this app on tiktok. mind you no where in the tiktok video does it mention it cost $120 to use the app. so i downloaded the app under the impression it was free or that i would at least have to confirm a subscription but once you open the app it immediately has you sign up then you can add money to your balance to invest which i did $10 and had to add my bank account. no biggie. then i read reviews on here and realized it cost $120 for the subscription. which they now have my bank details to charge. why is there no confirmation for this subscription cost while signing up and why doesn’t it have you verify that you want to pay that. it’s very deceiving. i immediately canceled everything. the subscription, the reoccurring ni weekly deposits of $10 from my bank account and i removed my bank account in the payment methods tab under settings. i haven’t been charged $120 but i’m gonna be extremely user if i am because which isn’t this more transparent in sign up stage. i contacted customer support so i hope they do right by me and don’t charge me $120 for being on the app for only a few minutes before i canceled everything immediately after realizing i would be charged $120 just for downloading and creating an account.
I downloaded this app as someone in college looking for an outlet to start investing without too much background knowledge. I created an account and ran into the common issue of not knowing I subscribed to the app. I contacted a representative through the chat option and she was very friendly and explained what the issue was. The app does state that you are agreeing to the free trial of 3 days which I was unaware of. She helped me change my subscription and now I totally get what went wrong! I Love the feature of creating your own personal playlist that caters to your personal interests and overall I think it’s an awesome way to start investing.
Really inspirational the founders took a chance to make this happen. Takes the complexity out of investing for beginners & gives women a head start & clarity they may not find elsewhere. App design flows well & easy to navigate. Give it a chance, takes the guesswork out of things & gives peace of mind knowing my money isn’t just sitting dead in the water in my normal savings account. Great alternative to Ellevest imo. Entering the free rent raffle, definitely need it 😭 love when your ex puts you in a crazy amount of debt 🤪 girlboss things lol but thank you for making an app that is helping so many young people take charge of their financial literacy.
I initially came across an Alinea ad on Tik Tok and was impressed with the accessible information regarding if I had invested in a certain stock X years ago for $Y what I would currently have made on that investment. The features in the app and ability to see how certain companies and stocks year over year have changed was extremely useful while trying to decide how to go about my first experience with investing in stocks. I highly recommend this app ESPECIALLY to those investing in stocks for the first time. Investing can be daunting and confusing, but Alinea provides a wealth of knowledge for investors to make the process smooth.
Alinea makes investing really straightforward and accessible especially for younger first time investors. With integrated financial analysis tools and company insights, as well as highly relevant news updates, Alinea provides all the resources needed for informed investing. Its also really rewarding to be able to see the sustainability impact score and invest in causes you believe in. Sharing and investing in playlists amongst friends and community members is also a super unique feature of the app and allows users to spread risk in their portfolio while also staying up to date with the larger Alinea community. Its exciting to see how Gen Z is shaking things up in the Fintech space!

Downloaded for teaching, save your money. They ask for payment before you can even see the features of the app! How are you paying for something you can’t see! Terrible reviews about not being able to access money and them auto investing even though you don’t want it and no or little response to emails/lack of communication and zero reliable ways to reach them. I hope I saved you $120(the annual fee) no installments offered so that says their platform would not keep customers long enough to charge monthly fees. Not sure how you are supposed to cancel but if you only get 1 free week (deleting the app won’t count as cancellation) and it takes them over 1 week to respond…that sounds like a trap! Someone is getting paid but it’s most likely just the owner of this app. I deleted it immediately!
As a young person just starting to understand the complexity of the stock market, I originally believed that it was too complicated for me to get involved in. Alinea has changed my mind. Having “playlists” of stock portfolios with visual representations of the portfolios performance over the years makes it so much easier to understand whether it’s something I want to put my money in. I will say that I wish I could still access the portfolio’s performance graph from before I invested, because now I can only see as far back as my first investment in the portfolio. Aside from that one preference, I have no complaints.
