love the journal!!
I have used so many apps to try and help myself keep up with small wellness or self-care tasks and have ended up ignoring them or not enjoying them after a while, especially because of many of them flooding me with requests to make a purchase or putting so many things behind a paywall I can’t afford to get over. I was blessed enough to be donated a Golden Key that unlocks everything in the base game. This is an amazing little program that allows players to donate these keys to players like me who cannot afford them. I plan on donating when I’m more financially stable; I am so surprised that I only waited about 2 days until someone kind donated, so I would love to do the same. I wish other apps did that! I absolutely love the gratitude journals and have that set as one of my daily goals. I love the art in this app; it is clear that a lot of love has been poured into this! i recommend this app for people who are looking for a basic way to promote a little bit of self-care in their lives. Having three goals each day is manageable and realistic—I have felt positive changes after journaling with this app. I love the burn journal the most. The animation is really fun when you are all done writing out your anger and it gets “burned.” So many small, intentional artistic choices are made in the animations that make this app so so special.

Helping me get back on track!
I used to be good with self care goals in the past without the help of apps but then in recent years, fell out of those habits…. I decided to give Amaru a try considering I really love cats and his design is quite adorable. I did try this a few months back and fell out of it due to personal things going on at the time but almost 2 weeks ago, I redownloaded it and have been using it religiously ever since. Truthfully I don’t use the meditations or journals since I use a different journaling app for that but I do like how they’re an option for those who can benefit from them. I love playing puzzle parlor and I pretty much already got most of the collections in each region thanks to how much I been playing and sending Amaru out to explore! After a lot of thought, I even bought the “all the things” purchase so I could play the full game and have all the puzzles and whatnot. It’s really been worth the investment and time and I’m really grateful for this little guy helping me get my life back on track and making me hold myself accountable once more! Awesome job to the team and I hope y’all continue to roll out even more features!

Actually amazing
My one quarrel is that there’s a lot of content locked behind a pay wall, which really isn’t much of a quarrel. I’m just mad I don’t have the money to pay for a subscription, but I am sure the content locked away is very valuable to the maintenance of mental health. I’m also sure the money is used to pay artists, composers, and anyone on a team to help maintain the app and anyone who’s worked on it. Without paying, the app is still very useful and genuinely helps to form healthy practices such as grounding, reducing time on your phone, and mindfulness. I’ve found myself using this app every single time I fall into a depressive hole and it’s genuinely helped me every single time. Don’t get me wrong, meditation and a cute animal hybrid isn’t a cure all for depression. I’m currently looking into medications as well as other coping mechanisms and grounding techniques, but personally, meditation does help. It’s helped reduce a lot of stress from school and helped me wind down before bed. I highly recommend this app for intro to guided meditation and other meditation techniques and uses. The journaling is alright as well though I wish there was a blank version without the “I’m grateful for” prompt. Sometimes I just want to write how I’m feeling and don’t need the be reminded of something to be grateful for.

Amazing and 100% worth the price
I absolutely love this game and it’s goals, this game has been the reason I’ve been so productive and happy honestly. I really enjoy seeing Amaru and whenever he goes on an adventure and it’s time for a screen break, this gives me the opportunity to stop procrastinating and I end up getting so much accomplished. While there is lots of content behind a paywall it’s 100% worth the $13 or so when I think about how many $60 switch games I have and barely even play. It’s a very very small price to pay for how happy it makes me and I know the money is going to be used to make the game even better!!! Plus I love the developers decision of no ads for everyone, this aspect is incredibly under appreciated. My biggest complaint is I’d love to see a timer of when Amaru is back from adventures because I always forget the times they say. Even a little post notification of him being back would be super epic. An amazing game all around though that I’ve already recommended to so many others :)

Adorable, but Triggering me
The game is cute, but something has been bugging me about it and it took a couple days to figure it out. Amaru cowering and shaking is setting my anxiety off maybe due to mirror-touch synesthesia or coregulation issues. And when I'm petting it, it makes a gesture that I associate with a cat who doesn't want to be pet. It seems kinda reluctant to accept me. I've done all the things, earned my self-care stuff, got maps, fed the critter, pet it, filled the bars, and the next day it's cowering and reluctant. At best, reluctantly curious about me. The time it seems most happy is when it's leaping away on an adventure and it disappears, which triggers abandonment and shame issues for me. This isn't a dig at the inventors/programmers or designers. I have been looking for something like this. But I don't have this much trouble earning trust from IRL critters, and if I did, I would totally back off and let them sort out the speed at which to approach me, not push myself at them. As an adult, I could push through this for the sake of the self-care reminders. But my inner child is really bothered by it, so this game probably isn't for me. It's increasing my anxiety…which is counter-productive. I’m glad this game exists for others, and folks seem to be getting what they need from it.

Really wanted to love this but…
I adored everything about this app during the tutorial, right up until getting to the self care goals list. The list has about a dozen preset goals that you cannot delete or edit in any way, meaning if they do not fit your own personal goals, they just sit there taking up space. This doesn’t work for me as I have ADHD and I need a comprehensive list of personalized goals that I can edit and customize as needed, such as setting tasks per day, setting the order of those tasks, setting times for reminders, and having a specific list for each day of the week. Having several goals in the list that are not mine is very distracting and makes it harder for me to comprehend what my actual self care goals are that fit my personal needs per day. I’m a little heartbroken. It was such a sweet app that looked like it had everything I needed, including a a very cute pet to care for and keep me motivated, until discovering this flaw right after the tutorial. I hope that this changes some day and that deletions/edits of the preset goals is at least added, if not a small calendar to customize with daily goals and values. Guess I’m sticking with Habit Rabbit for now :/

I’m in love with this app.
So I have issues with focusing and problems with anxiety and ADHD. I also haven’t really seen a lot of reviews about the free version. It has a reasonable amount of stuff to do without buying the full version. I would still recommend buying the full version (although I can’t since I’m a little broke right now from buying a ukulele). It’s a really good app and I’d recommend this to anyone struggling with self esteem and anxiety. I would also suggest watching a tutorial of where everything is because I had a hard time finding everything when I first downloaded it. So don’t worry about not being able to do a lot if you don’t buy the full version since there’s still a bunch you can do even if you don’t have the full version unlocked. Hope this helps someone who’s worried about having to spend money. The app is really good though and when I’m better with money I’ll for sure buy the full version bit by bit.

Wonderful Game!
I love the limits of playtime with Amaru, bonding, and goals we can put in. I've tried another game-like app that was also suppose to help with habits, but they soon became unrealistic to-do lists that never fully finished. The limits help with self control and consistency for the goals I want to become as habits. Plus Amaru is adorable. My only actual complaint: I would like more care tasks for Amaru such as cleaning him, not just coloring his fur. Or even picking up his poo and messes, exploring with him (not just letting him explore, which I like as a screen break while Amaru gets to have fun), and maybe learning how to interact with other creatures or people im Enso (real or computer/AI). I don't know if these things are available in full version (by purchasing the Dream Key), so I'll see when considering getting the key. Either way, the above list are suggestions that would make the game more interactable when it comes to caring for Amaru.

I hope it stays this good.
I’ve never had a “self-care” app before. I always found them useless and cheesy… but I’ve actually had an inspiration with this app. First, the visuals are sooo beautiful, I love the softness and kind of kawaii vibes (and Amaru is absolutely adorable). The little glint shimmers are so awesome, I rarely have the same quote more than once, and they have even made me cry happy tears because they were so accurate to what I was dealing with. This game is really a breath of fresh air and it reminds me there are good people in the world ❤️. The last big thing is that there are hardly any ads, just a few here and there, and even those ones are aesthetic and not distracting. I understand that companies need to make money so they must have ads, and it feels like the creators care more about mental health than making money which is the big plus. So thank you to the creators for bringing this game and I hope you do so well!

Relaxing and Happy game.
I just stumbled upon this game at first and decided to try it out. Happy I did. It’s guided meditations have such a soothing voice, and the animal character is so adorable and growing the bond somehow bring lots of joy to me just seeing them start to trust me over time. The games are genuinely entertaining and I have ADHD so that something! It’s motivated me to start trying again, I know it sounds cringey in a way but I blocked bad friends, I took care of myself, I ate, I cleaned a bit of my room, and I went to bed before 2am when I usually fall sleep at 6am due to my anxiety. Strangely this game has helped me a lot though I have much more to work on, it’s helping somehow. So if your considering this game as someone with depression, anxiety, ptsd, and adhd I suggest it for you 100% No matter what your going through!! And if a developer is reading this, great game I love it! Sorry for the long message and have a good day everyone! 🌸

This App Is Just What I Needed
As someone who struggles with self care and prioritizing mental health, I found this makes it much more fun and easier. I love the little notes of encouragement; for example, one of my favorites is “You are strong and validated.” This app really focuses on getting you to focus on yourself. It starts out with Amaru being very anxious and untrusting of you. That is, until you do a self care task which usually involves a form of meditation. They have different categories and time lengths so you have options. I like to do some of them at night when I’m feeling especially anxious and can’t sleep. You can buy treats and feed Amaru, which increases your bond with him. You can also pet him. You can play mini games with him or have him explore. I really enjoy the gratitude journal, because it helps me really think about the good things in my life. I love the simplicity of the art. It’s beautiful, but not overwhelming. I also love the symbolism. After interacting with Amaru a couple times, I couldn’t help but feel he was a representation of myself, mainly because I could not make Amaru calm and happy unless I was doing that for myself first. I definitely recommend this app to anyone who wants to improve their mental health and learn to prioritize themselves in order to become a healthier, happier person. Please support this app’s very thoughtful creators and download it!

Best mindfulness app I’ve ever used!
I've used apps like Headspace and Calm, but wanted a meditation/mindfulness app that felt more unique. Amaru is beyond unique. There's nothing like it! I've been using the app every single day for nearly 3 months now. Taking care of Amaru has helped me feel such a stronger connection to taking care of myself. I'm just absolutely in love with the attention to all the small details, from the drawings to the story-writing – like the food and treasures that Amaru finds – I often screenshot them just because! I know a lot of people get bummed when they see they have to pay for certain features, but let me tell you, it's all worth it. By paying you support an amazing team of designers and developers working SO hard to make the magic of Amaru unfold. I look forward to when they allow you to donate games to others. I'll be first in line! That's how much I believe in this app :)

Very sweet but a few misclicks led to me deleting the app
The app was absolutely adorable and I love the concept and wish I didn’t have to delete the app, but when I was poking around (note: this is completely my fault, I wasn’t paying enough attention) I clicked on something’s that added me to a list to have a gold key (a item that unlocks a most of the game, got through real money) and i don’t feel comfortable being given something like that, that someone else paid for. I need to reiterate again this app is amazing, I only had it for less then a day before I made this mistake but I loved it for the day I had it. If possible I think a way to get off the waitlist would be helpful (again reiterating that clicking the button was my fault and I should have stopped to read what I was doing and if I had realized real money was involved I would have never done it)

Literally changed my life (and probably saved it too)
I suffer from chronic depression, anxiety, ADHD, and a lot of other small stuff. I’ve been using this app on and off for years— admittedly, sometimes I don’t even have the energy to turn it on, and start slacking— but when I do, I feel like myself again. Motivated. Like someone with a goal. As someone who struggles to find reasons to keep going, reading back past journal entries and reliving all of those moments, good and bad, always tears me up. The gratitude scans, meditations, and other guided audios let me feel soothed like someone is there with me, walking me through things, even when I don’t have anyone or if I feel guilty for being a burden. The feeling of being needed by someone, and being able to provide— without having the pressure of feeling like I’ve let a friend down— is worth more to me than I can express. Genuinely, wholly, and deeply, I would like to extend an enormous thanks to the Amaru team. No matter how bad it gets, or how worthless I feel, how many close calls I’ve survived, this app brings me back. Centers me. Reminds me to remember good things in my life that are constant and unwavering. Things to be proud of. Things to be grateful for. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you all. Warmest and sincerest regards, C

Pet+Self-Care!!
I love this app! 5 stars hands down! I was searching for a virtual pet and stumbled across this cute guy. Being an animal lover and quite a depressed person this is just what I need; a self-care app that actually encourages me to meet my goals everyday such as meditating. You can create your own goals and switch them if there’s a task you want to do sometimes but not everyday. There’s a journal to write in and mini games to play. I also like that it takes time for Amaru to like you and bond with you like many real pets. All this for FREE!! I’ve never paid more than $2 for any app (and that was only once). I made an exception for this one after a few days mainly to support the creators; they do a good job. I can’t remember if the second journal to unlock is free or not. I believe they really don’t read what you write in the journals because I’ve put a few…..certain words in there and unlike some other journal apps nothing happens. No account on hold stuff. I just really wish this were a thing: the background of the place where Amaru is would get dark like it’s nighttime when it’s his bedtime. I’ve already recommended this app to a few friends. They say they’re real busy which I understand. I hope I’ll recommend this to someone one day and they actually use it. Thank you Six Wings!

Cutest Habit-Building App Ever
So far I’ve only used the free version, but I DEFINITELY plan to buy the full $13 version in the next couple of months! This concept is so wonderful—a virtual pet that helps you build positive habits of mindfulness and self-care! I really love that. The music for the echo stones is lovely and I play the unguided one every day while drawing my daily tarot cards. It really soothes my mind and makes me feel especially in tune with my spirit guides. In-game currency is super easy to come by so I’ve always got food to feed the adorable Amaru and I love the gratitude journal. My only complaint is that I wish the character count of journal entries was unlimited so I could use the gratitude journal as a dream journal instead. But this app is beautiful in every way and I am more than happy to buy the full version when it’s in my budget to do so!

Great app!
I got this app for the cute cat-bird thing known as Amaru but I come back for the guided practice, games, and still Amaru, he’s really cute. The guided practices are great, you can choose how long many of them are which I love! I also am usually in a better mood after I’ve listened to one. The minigames are pretty fun and I feel like they’re sharpening some if my skills like hand-eye coordination and memory(unlike a lot of the games I play). They’re also only available when Amaru’s awake which I like because it prevents me from playing them into the night. The journals, or should I say journal, is nice and it reminds me to be grateful. The one thing I don’t like is how there’s only one I can use because it gets boring doing the same one every day but I heard there’s one you can unlock and I’m sure as the game develops, more will become available. Lastly, the world building and atmosphere. I haven’t traveled very far in the app but I love when Amaru brings me back little things, I love the sparkles after I complete a goal and the little messages with it. There’s also the ambient noise, including the one within the guided practices that you can turn off when you want. My biggest negative with this app is just that I can’t get myself to use it enough but that’s more on my end and the goal gems and aura really helps.

Love this!
I have never felt the urge to write any app review before, but this one has been so helpful to me, that I felt like I had to. I have anxiety and depression from chronic illness, and struggle to relax or do self care a lot of the time. I find the guided meditations super relaxing and the voice pleasing to listen to. I have been integrating the breathing exercises into my daily life, and enjoy being able to see Amaru and take care of him when I feel stressed out. All the nature sounds in each different location are very soothing, and I feel like this app is genuinely helping me to take better care of myself. I did pay for the full version, and I feel like with as much helpful content as this app has, it was well worth the money. I highly recommend this to anyone who struggles with self care and anxiety. ❤️👍🏻

Pretty Good, Recommend Premium/Full Game!
It’s a really good game, it’s adorable, you can get some progress- daily goals/streaks still exist, and you can feed and play with Amaru, as well as write in the gratitude journal, do some (2) meditation exercises, and bond with him+grow your aura, but there’s a lot of missed out features. You cannot go to new areas, write in the normal “journaling” journal, complete your bond, or play all the games or even do all the mediation exercises without it- but I’m not upset, because it’s reasonable and makes sense! I would just recommend the full game if you get this, because if you don’t, you’ll miss out on a lot of stuff that you’ll really wish you could get. If not though, it’s still a great game! I don’t have the full game myself, and I still like it, so yeah! Has definitely helped improve my mental health, even if just a little bit 💖(it’s only been 50 days)

Charming and has lots of potential
I originally heard about this game when it was a Kickstarter campaign, but due to having been burned more than once with Kickstarter games I decided to just keep an eye on its development and buy it when it actually released. I’m so glad I did! It’s a charming game and has definitely helped me improve my mental health through the self-help guidance, but I do wish there were a few features: 1: Notifications when Amaru is fully rested or back from exploring, I often forget to check in on him again after I’ve played once in a day. 2: Notifications to continue my streak! Having ADHD means I often forget to check in on Amaru regularly, meaning that I haven’t managed a streak of more than one day so far. 3: The ability to have this app connect to either Fitbit or Apple Health to log mindfulness minutes—so far I’ve been using the Mindful app on my Fitbit Versa 3 to track when I’m using this app but I’d love to bot need to remember to turn on another app to have using Amaru count towards my daily Mindfulness practice. Overall it’s a fantastic app so far, and it’s already gotten better since it’s release so I’m really looking forward to seeing where the dev team takes it next. ❤️

Hope there’s more in future
I want to be able to be invested in this app because I did support it on Kickstarter, but like there isn’t much to do and I have bad adhd so whenever I try to listen to the meditations I get very distracted. I can only focus for so long. I want to be able to interact more with the cat instead of just petting and feeding. I want to be able to buy toys and watch them play, or do exploring with them and find the things, or even when playing the games, add the cat in, like bonk the baddies, it would be awesome to have him in the game going over and whacking them like a cat does when you tap them. There’s so much you could do with this game but I feel like there isn’t enough to keep one invested for very long. I hope there will be more in future updates, because I really want to enjoy the game. So for now I’m giving it a 3 star because I have high hopes for it in the future.

Absolutely amazing
I personally am going through a lot of social anxiety and have shown signs of imposter syndrome, and this game has helped me quite a lot. Though I haven’t had it for long, I have been feeling a lot calmer and more proud of myself for my achievements. There is so much to love about this game, from simply the calming sounds and the really cute graphics to the journaling and guided meditation. I actually am now able to make time for self care and extending some grace to myself. Though, I do have one question, are users of this game able to create gratitude glints? If so, how do you make one? Anyways, to whoever sees this, I hope you have a great day, and I highly recommend this game for anyone who wants to feel more at peace or anyone who is going through any storms in life.

Great Game! but few suggestions:
i wanna start by saying this game is amazing, and its so helpful to have a self care app that really makes it fun! but i would love if: 1. the lessons weren’t as lengthy in the tutorials. for example, instead of the voice talking to us and walking us through step by step, it could show some kind of image to portray how we could breathe instead! (take the app Finch’s breathing exercises, for example.) of course, there would be an option to enable this anyway, and people who like the current lesson format would be able to toggle it again 2. more social features were available. of course i know you’ve probably heard this 1 million times, but thats because the community really wants to share their Amaru’s with their friends! even if you cant actively play with someone else, you would be able to send them gifts, for example, and you could earn money (sorry im new to the game idk what everythings called) for recieving and giving gifts :D 3. thats pretty much it, lol but this game has amazing potential to really help people! and i’m so glad i stumbled across it when I did! Keep it up 😎🫵

Instantly Crashes
This is my second time downloading this app to try it out cause I heard about it a long time ago and thought it was cute. The first time I had this exact same issue and figured it was because it was too early in development so I shrugged it off and uninstalled the app and waited a few months. Well it popped up online again and I decided to try to download it and play again. This time the app has 4 starts and positive reviews, so idk what wrong with mine specifically. When I open the app it takes me to the “Put in your age” screen, then before I can do anything the whole game crashes and I get kicked to my phones home screen. This is all like a 3 second action. I’ve tried closing and reopening the app and it didn’t work, and I’ve deleted and reinstalled the game as well. Still no luck. Please help, this seems like a really cute app and could be really helpful to me and I’ve been looking forward to trying it. Thank you for reading.

My fave app!
Amaru is absolutely precious. Though I love mindfulness, I lack the motivation for daily practice. An adorable magical kitty however, is enough to get to me to do it. The meditations themselves are some of the best I’ve ever tried, which is a lot. I also love the beautiful background the game has, and all the cute things Amaru does from bent a loaf to rolling on his belly! If you have the free version and are debating getting the golden key, I highly recommend it. I backed the Kickstarter so I paid a long time ago, but it still took a lil but after the game was released for every backer to get their key. While the free version has all the basic features and is good, the golden key really takes it to the next level. Good luck on your mental health journey!!!

A Good Start
Without paying for the expansion of the game, it few very basic. Being basic isn't nessesarily bad, but it does leave a tad to be desired. If you truly wanted to entice people to buy the expansion, make about half of it free to demo the functions that are expanded apon in buying the unlock. For instance, make a travel option, a different journal prompt, maybe a few treasures, and a few interchangeable tasks available in the base game, just so people can understand what they'd be buying. I think there should also be a better way to use beads, though this might be an issue of not having bought the expansion, only elaborating on my point further. However, despite the basic start, the game is very wonderfully made, sporting a very nice art style that fits it's mood.

Bored: Paid/free content balance plz
I heard about the game from when it was in beta (though I was not a tester) and was looking forward to the release. To be honest, there’s not enough free content to keep me interested in keeping the app long enough to consider making an in app purchase. So many things are locked behind the pay wall and even though the game provides an in game currency there’s no way for a free to play player to actually unlock much of anything with that currency. I don’t mind that the game has paid content but the feel and style of the game feels generally kid-friendly and thus like more should be earnable by free players too. Unfortunately, since I’m already bored by the 1 journal option, limited collectible items (food only) and inability to unlock new items/activities w/o an iap I’m not inspired enough by what I can do to want to unlock the things that I cant.

Finally here - Amazing & Worth it!! TRY IT OUt
I have been supporting this app since the Kickstarter days and have been playing along with the beta version. Seeing it develop has been amaZing and the end product is phenomenal. As an RN and someone who suffers from anxiety and depression I am so excited to see realized an amazing concept and idea as an approach to everyday mental health and well being. I love Amaru so much so that even though I purchased a copy pre-sale to help fund the campaign I paid in-app and bought the FULL version because 1 - it’s with it and 2 - these developers are amazing and deserve all the support they can get! Thanks for such a great app and journey along the way - can’t wait to see what left to come!

This app is a certifed pogchamp
This is such a relaxin game. i mean its not realy a game, but it also kinda is, like theres mini games(that are also calming like the bell game and rock stacking thing) that you can have Amaru do, or you can have him explore and he bring u back stuffs. also it has some lil meditation things u can do, which are free,(you pay with in game currency) and the baccround moosic has like birds chirping and stuff. So overall its a nice game that you set gaols in, like wake and bed times, and you have to take care of Amaru and its so cute cuz after doing ur goals he gets mor happy and energetic and also HE SO FRICCIN CUTE. So take from me, some random person who left a review, if your lookin for a self-care helping app, u should get this 1

Amazing, Phenomenal, Helped Me Overcome Negativity
Hello, Six Wings Studio and Team Amaru! I have been looking for an app /exactly/ like this for several years now. I suffer from Major Depressive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety, and PTSD, and I did not know what to expect when I downloaded this app one day through a recommendation email from Apple. I have been wonderfully surprised with how much cute, devotion, and love was put into the game; I love Adventure/Fantasy games like Legend of Zelda and Final Fantasy, so the art style is very beautiful as well. I am actively recommending this to my friends and family who are suffering and/or going through a lot themselves. 11/10, please continue making spectacular apps to help the community. 💜

So helpful
This app really helped me get through tough times and improve my mental health. Helping to calm amaru’s anxiety often helped calm my own. I love the way the journal encourages reflection but doesn’t make me feel pressured to write a certain amount. One thing that really made me sad was you can’t create an account or back up your info! I lost months of journaling I had done on this app when my phone was stolen so I am hesitant to trust it again. I would love to see some updates In the future to link it to a google account or create and account within the app. EDIT: So happy to hear I can make an account now, really happy with the creators of the app and all who work on it!

This is one of the best self care apps ever
I’ve struggled with anxiety and depression for a while now. I’ve struggled to implement helpful coping techniques and actually stick with them. This app really helps to do this. It gives you goals and rewards for taking care of yourself. It makes a game out of taking care of yourself in the best way possible. It’s not an automatic fix as nothing can make your worries just go away but it is an amazing step in taking care of yourself. Also Amaru is so cute!!! Sometimes he gets anxious or tired just like us and you have to take a second to calm him down with different techniques!!! Overall I love this app and hope it gets more attention!!!

Haven’t even bought the full but already one of my favorite mobile games
This game is amazing! I have not bought the full game, but it is already so good! I’ve been using this app every night for a few weeks now. It is really calming and since I started using it, I’ve been sleeping easier. The animation is great and so cute. The meditations are very effective. The mini games that I have access to with the free version are well made and relaxing but nothing special. Even if you don’t have the money for the full game, the free version is still amazing and has a lot to explore. Wether you are looking for self-care or just a cute virtual pet game, this app is great.

Healthy AND Adorable???
I’ve been struggling a lot these past years with my health - physical & mental - and while I have been seeking/using professional help, sometimes things happen while you’re at home and your next appointment isn’t for a few days and you just need something. This is easily one of the best things I’ve ever seen in regards to promoting self-care. You can create your own goals or use some of the default ones if those work for you. The Amaru customization mechanic is one of the best character customization I’ve ever seen - especially in a mobile game. The fact that by taking care of yourself you also get to bond with the kitty is incredibly motivating. I’ve already recommended this app to friends of mine and I had only had it for 1 full day at the time. 3 days in and somehow I’m even more in love (especially with my Amaru - I’ve named him Thunder lol). If you’re like me and you love animals and you feel like maybe you could use some help taking care of yourself - I 100% recommend giving this app a try.

Amazing!!!
This app has helped me get into healthier habits while being super cute. The tension breathing body scan was very relaxing and made me feel VERY refreshed like I took a 3 hour long nap or something. I really recommend this app to people who want to get into better habits. Usually I’d rather just lay down and do nothing but when I see Amaru feel anxious, I just have to make him feel better cuz I can’t bear to see him like that. Thank you so much to the game developers for this amazing app. P.S : If you love this app as much as I do, I recommend donating golden keys to other people who might need them cuz when I got one, it really changed the experience for me.

Amazing!!
I’ve only had this game for a small amount of time but even upon first launch I could tell that I’ll be visiting daily. It’s awesome for mental health and gives you a nice, safe place to practice and develop your well-being. The games are entertaining and so much thought has been put into this app by the devs. Following their journey to create Amaru was inspiring and I’m extremely happy that all turned out well. You can tell that the devs do care about mental health and want to help people struggling with such issues. I 100% recommend downloading Amaru, it’s helped me quite a bit! Plus, what can beat hanging out with an adorable cat-axolotl creature? :)

Thank you 💝
To preface: I’ve never left a review for an app before but this one really deserves it. When I saw this app on a sponsored Instagram post I got pretty excited to see that there was a developing app that was centered around self help. I waited patiently for a few weeks until the app was finally open to download and I’ve been using it since ! It makes me feel just a little more important every day. The exercises and getting to know Amaru has helped me relax and keep my mind focused at the end of the day. It’s a beautiful thing you guys have created and I can’t wait to see how it develops over time. Thank you 💜 -Jules

Amaru is a truly helpful wellness app.
I’ve had Amaru for a little over a year now, and while sometimes I put down the app, every time I need a little extra help he’s right there to help me get back on track. As a Christian, I really want to say thank you to the creators for making such a lovely and helpful app that’s really non-invasive and welcoming to all beliefs and walks of life. The meditations really are just mindfulness exercises, and can be helpful and insightful about your mental health without feeling like you’re clashing with your religion or beliefs. It’s a pure and wholesome wellness app that really anyone can enjoy. Thank you creators!

Take care of yourself by taking care of someone else
If you’re like me and you can’t do things for yourself but you can do them for a pet, this is the self care app for you. Amaru is really cute, and it makes me feel more motivated to go into the app and feed him, then getting one reward for doing that makes me want to do a self-care thing to get another one. I also really like the gratitude journal, it helps to think of things I’m thankful for after a bad day. The only thing I dislike is having to pay so much for the rest of the features, but I don’t mind as much with this app since the free parts are so useful. Overall I really enjoy using it!

Is it just me🤨
This game is awful when I finally got to the point where I could play it it just completely shut down and shut off and wouldn’t let me go back into it and I tried five or six times and it kept doing the same thing over and over again and giving us five stars somewhere to be at the top and everyone can see it I don’t know if this is just a problem with my phone it’s a problem with the game other than that it’s a cute idea to be a lot better if it actually worked though

The Wrong Way To Handle Making Money
There’s nothing wrong with needing money as a game. I get it. You need money. But the way you go about it is wrong, more so when you target the mentally unwell as your audience. I follow you guys on Instagram, you’ve had plenty of kickstarters, fundraisers, etc. Any money you needed to have, you have! And YET to unlock the majority of the basic features you need to spend like $12– a fact I find considerably steep, especially for a mobile game If you want money, go the cosmetic route like so many other games and I’ll gladly shell out money for a different fur color, accessories, clothes or on a mini event But your audience feeds into you because— like me— they think if they buy the game maybe this will make them happy But it doesn’t Because the app in itself is far from perfect, you don’t get credit for completing any exercises if you stop halfway through, for example if I open the app and Amaru is anxious I can’t do ANYTHING until I’ve done an exercise, even though my first instinct is to comfort Amaru and reach out and pet them among other things My brother said it’s the same for PC :/

Great…! But may need two more things.
First of all, lovely game. I can’t find a lot of issue with it besides what I feel needs to be added. For one, I’d love it if notifications were brought into the light of the app, it’s mainly so that I know when to check back in and not totally forget it exists. Second, I would like it if guided practice audios played outside of the app itself. Mainly so that I can relax while do things such as remove other apps, disable notifs for focusing, etc. Overall, it definitely needs improvement, but shouldn’t be too hard to focus on!

Already one of my favorite mobile apps
I dowloaded this thinking it was just a cute little app with a cat, I had no idea it would be this great! I stuggle alot with things like sled care and finding motivation to do simple things like taking a shower, brushing my teeth, doing my work, etc. and this has helped me alot! Ive only played it for one day and it has allready helped me gain motivation. I dont know how but it somehow magically did that. if your a person who is struggling with things like procrastination, self worth, depression, and any other mental issues, GET THIS APP! (amaru is adorable btw)

Went in skeptical and was proven wrong
I don’t know what it is about this app, but I really internalize the little encouraging messages it gives and found myself truly, substantially calmed after 20 minutes or so of playing around with it and doing a short meditation. I have severe anxiety and am also unfortunately susceptible to depression. Tbh, I gave this app a download just to see the cute cat and didn’t really expect much in terms of getting anything out of it. But I actually really like this app so far and I’m going to try and incorporate it into my daily routine.

Total game changer
I’ve tried for several years to practice better self care, and nothing really ever gave me an incentive to actually work on myself like this. Through taking care of another creature I’ve been able to really prioritize my self care and regularly mediate and journal better than I ever have in the past. Over the past month my mental health has taken a substantial turn for the better, and while no virtual pet could adequately substitute for actual therapy, this has really given me the tools I need to cope with my depression and anxiety. Thanks Amaru ❤️

this game is lovely.
i am a person who struggles to find motivation, or any relaxation. my mind is always racing, stressing and filled with anxiety. and i’m always on my phone. this app has given me relaxation. the guided practises are amazing, and geuinely help me. it is extremely rare that something like this ever helps me, because like i said, relaxation is difficult for me. i also struggle with motivation, but this app changed it. i’m still struggling. of course an app can’t fix everything, but this one can help and send you down the right path. i also love the obvious care and love the devs put into the game. it just makes it even better. and i absolutely love amaru, he is just the cutest and makes you want to do things for him. i like how it starts off with him being anxious, too. it’s like you have someone alongside of you, and you help eachother get through your struggles. all in all, i love this. thank you devs.

This game is so sweet and wholesome
I wish that I could unlock everything I don’t have in the game right now, but honestly I don’t mind missing out a little bit this game has meditation exercises and self care notes, it promotes healing and comfort. I’ve never seen a “self care” game in which it seems like the developers really care, Atleast not until I found this one. I’m gonna use this app as a means to try and take back control in my life. I’ve been having a really bad time mentally and even something like this can do so much to help.

highly recommend
So far i am really loving this app. Especially my little kitty friend :). The only downside so far is that you gotta pay to unlock more features for bonding with your amaru. However, The game is not only stress relieving but its also got some fun little games you can play :D! So far i like the little bell rythm game. It challenges my memory and i like it. I look forward tk unlocking full content soon so i’ll be back with an edit when i do! :3 100% Recommend playing this game with headphones on :P Sound effects are great:)

Helps me so much
I haven’t had anything to look forward to in my days for some time now. Every morning since Amaru I make it a point to check and take care of them by taking care of myself as well as tucking them in at night. The full unlock is worth it if you find yourself enjoying the free experience. I’m very happy with Amaru and suggest you at least give it a try, especially if you find yourself to be someone who has an easier time caring for others than yourself.

Actually works for me
I’ve been trying to cultivate a daily mindfulness habit to combat my anxiety for YEARS, and this is the first one that I’ve been able to stick to. Something about having to care for (and getting to bond with) a cute little winged cat actually keeps me coming back to this app, where streak tracking alone in other meditation apps has failed me. I’m not really good at caring for myself yet, but I will care for Amaru even when I don’t feel motivated to care for myself, and that helps.
