It works just fine most of the time, but I’d say about 25% of the time I try to use it, it tells me it can’t log me in. Super annoying if you’re trying to transfer balances to buy something at a store or send money to someone. It was way more reliable on the old app.
The new app is awful, it was supposed to be better but they just ruined the app completely. I get an error and can’t sign in anytime i actually need to check my account, even the biometric sign in is as or maybe even more unreliable than the rest of the app. Why include a feature that the user is never able to use. They got rid of the only useful feature that allows a user to check their balance from their quick navigation. If you’re going to remove useful features at least make your app reliable enough for people to use it.
They said this new version of the app would be improved and make things easier, but its the opposite. Used to be able to see your direct deposits as soon as they went into the account and now its 7 or 8 am before anything is visible in your account. The app itself is harder to navigate and is constantly giving me an error message or “cant log you in right now” message. This app is awful.
I just wanted to write a review because of all the negative reviews. I’ve been using it and haven’t been having any problems. It might just be that my phone is compatible or some people are just technically challenged. Either way my app works fine.
AmeriServ banking app was great-but on Saturday 7/20/24 i tried to open the app n it Error Access is Forbidden to the Server! I called the 1800 number and a few ladies tried to help me and one suggested something -i tried but nothing so i trued deleting the app n clicking on it again and i got the same app back again w/the same message! Im so flustered that im done!! What is going on?? Donna
After getting a new phone, the app will not let me sign in. After logging in, it takes me to a page to enroll my mobile phone. After entering my mobile phone number, it tells me that my number is already enrolled, but gives no option to skip this step, and kicks me back to the login screen. Horribly frustrating.
I tried signing in a week ago and got an error before reaching the login page. I still get the same error. I thought the servers may be overloaded with people checking to see if their stimulus checks came in yet and tried later. Still can’t get to the login page. Even when I was able to, Face ID no longer works saying there’s another error.
“It appears that you have submitted the front of your check..” It appears that a legitimate place of business does not care that it’s app makes Ameriserv look ridiculous. This app has been garbage for months - must have been the last update. If you can log in, forget about a check deposit. Makes one think twice about trusting them with your money.
I don’t think this app is as intuitive or visually appealing as the old one. I don’t like mobile check deposit with the new app. It’s not difficult, I just prefer the way it used to be done. The online banking format has also changed when I login with my laptop..not a fan. I wish customers had the option to go back to the previous formats. Like they say...”if it ain’t broke...”
The app no longer supports Touch ID on my iPhone. They tell me the problem is my phone. My Touch ID works with: American Express, Charles Schwab, MasterCard, Visa, PayPal, Delta air lines, American Express savings, Xoom, Western Union, Ebay, and eight other apps. I wonder, can it be that Ameriserv is getting it right and 18 other, worldwide corporations are getting it wrong? That’s what they want me to believe.
Definitely liked the old app better than this one. I hope there will be a widget with this new app soon. I liked being able to glance at my balance without actually having to log in every time.
I really miss the “new balance with each transaction” feature of the old app. To actually set the new app up was a total pain. I don’t use a PC all that much, except at my job, so the fact I couldn’t initialize setup off my phone was inconvenient.
We loved the old app and used it to pay our monthly bills. Now, since the change, it has left plenty to be desired. It looks like we will be looking for another bank that offers what the old app offered.
This is a terrible app. It does not work half the time to begin with so I have to log in on my computer to do what I want or check my balance. In addition to that: 1. The touch screen does not work and when I was given a verification code it did not accept it. 2. The app itself is not intuitive and not easy to use. I liked the old app because it was easy to use and gave you an updated balance. I am very frustrated with this new app.
