Stolen on Vaca
I had my purse stolen while on a personal trip to see my son & wife. I had pulled my clutch and had on my wrist when leaving the airport to get on a shuttle. Unfortunately, being unaware, someone must have slipped the clutch away from me & clipped the wrist strap. Forgot I had put around my wrist, I thought the clutch was in my shoulder bag. I got into the bag to pull tip money out of my clutch to learn I no longer had my purse on me with all my ID, cards, money & my travel card passport. Thank goodness I had my cellphone on me. It was a nightmare and the most hopeless & helpless feeling I’ve ever experienced. After canceling cards & requesting new, new license, having to report my stolen passport card to the State Department & the passport number shutdown forcing me to get a new passport, i had to take the next step to protect myself from ID fraud. I had heard good things about Aura and proceeded to secure my identity. I have a stronger sense of security now. I also loaded their antivirus on my laptop as well. Froze my credit reports, too. It was an expensive & hard lesson to learn but I feel safer with Aura alongside me.

Clunky, timed-out, a big waste of time
We had high hopes for this app but after only one day, we will be canceling our free trial. Download the app and it never ever loads my account information. It just keeps on saying “loading account information”. Unfortunately you can’t access your account settings online because it just takes you right back to the app. Tried to set my daughter’s limitations but because of aforementioned issue, it wouldn’t let me change them. It does not allow for more judicious blocking either you block something entirely or not at all. Daughter’s phone would not connect to wifi while the app was on her phone, even though the restriction is for browsing in safari, not to deny her access to wifi. As a test, I asked my daughter to remove the app which would essentially give her full access to the internet. She deleted the app. No notification that the app was deleted, but still READS that her device is connected to my account. Dangerous! I tried update phones, reloading the app, updating the app, nothing. Bottom line—google, if you can actually believe this, has more safety features that allow me access than this service, which is sorta like saying that I’d feel safer with a psycho. Absolute garbage and a total waste of time- I spent HOURS trying to get this thing to work—all for nothing. Avoid.

4 Star App 5 Star Service
I recently downloaded the Aura app and have been very impressed with the services it provides, especially the identity protection and constant monitoring. This has given me peace of mind knowing that my personal information is being protected at all times. I love that that it automatically opts out of any data brokers who currently have your information. However, I do have a few minor issues with the actual app. For one, it does not have landscape viewing on iPad, which can be a bit frustrating. Additionally, the website seems to crash every time I try to login and set up MFA on the safari browser on my laptop. I would like to see the option to choose a country for VPN service. I would also like the desktop app to be more of an all in one stop and not just antivirus and online security. Despite these issues, I am overall very satisfied with the service provided by Aura. The identity protection and constant monitoring are incredibly valuable and make up for any minor problems with the app. I hope that the developers will continue to improve the app and address these issues in future updates. Thank you for reading if you’ve made it this far hahah.

Aura customer service understands me!
I had some questions about the protection by Aura and I was glad to hear that the customer service agent was a North American, regular guy who can relate to me. I am not against speaking with people from beyond the pond, or even in Latin America, however, I have gotten annoyed talking to a gentleman one time from another major company, who spoke English and was obviously, Hispanic, he did not understand me in an English, so I asked him if he spoke Spanish and conducted the rest of my conversation in Spanish with him. I shouldn’t had to do that, but I had to because he just couldn’t understand me an English. I’m glad to see I can speak to a regular American voice who can understand English and can relate to me. He answered all my questions and helped me discover new things about Aura’s services.

You do too much, Aura
I am genuinely baffled at how highly rated this app is. I wanted safety features for PC gaming and filtering inappropriate content on my child’s iPhone. What I’ve gotten for my money is a pushy PC app gag wants to run the show, an iOS app that pesters INCESSANTLY to turn on the VPN that breaks other apps, and…no alerts from my kid’s gaming. She’s a good kid but there is NO way after all this time I haven’t gotten a single alert from her time on Roblox. Every time I open the app on my phone, it acts like it’s never seen me before and makes me sign in. Sometimes it firehoses me with alerts that it hasn’t seen my kid active on her phone when she’s standing there using it. Then radio silence for weeks. This app tries to do way, way too much. Some of it is home grown, some has been added through M&A activity. This thing runs a VPN, it MITMs game chat, it operates at ring 0 on our PCs, and we hand it our PII so it can monitor for it on the dark web. (I’ve never gotten an alert for that, either, and my data is definitely out there.) We are handing the keys to our personal kingdoms to a buggy app whose supply chain gives me the ick. Can I get an SBOM? I’m well past the point of being able to legitimately ask for a refund, but I’m cutting my losses and not renewing.

Wonderful product, but—
Aura’s easy to use and from what I’ve seen thus far apparently wonderful customer service. However the one thing that is making me give four stars instead of five is how it’s causing me to monitor too much information. My parents and I each have accounts all in the same bank, however I want to be able to have the option to not monitor their information as well as my own. I know which transactions are mine and I also understand that Aura needs access to financial accounts to work properly, but I would like to be able to monitor just my own accounts under the same bank, rather than everyone else—truebill used to provide this with the option to “hide” the other accounts and ignore them since they were not mine. Please provide this in a future update. It would be much easier for me to monitor my own individual finances that way. Additionally; providing an option for a yearly subscription on the app store would be preferable to paying $10 per month. Less expensive that way.

Landscape view for iPads and other tablets is not enabled.
Aura’s mission to help those who have become identity theft victims and worse in admirable. But, the app developer needs to add landscape view for those of us who use iPads and other devices that must be used with that orientation to accommodate an external keyboard. As a victim of ID Theft, I am no longer allowed by my 2 banks to use online services. I haven’t yet found a place to register my accounts in Aura. Most of the world now uses online banking, but there is a growing number of victims for whom it is no longer safe to bank online. We need to add our offline bank accounts just like everyone else. Other than my suggestions for improvement as listed above, the app is clear and easy to navigate, and there is no crowding of features. It has ease of use for computer beginners and intermediates, as well as those who use devices other than computers. If the above suggestions are implemented, I will review the app again, and give it the better rating it will then deserve.

Lack of Customer Service
Was thinking this app was going to make a difference, but all in all it really just compiles information and gives you updates on when a company looks at your financials or personal information. Essentially it is the same thing for when someone views you on LinkedIn and you get a notification saying someone looked at you. The majority of the services this app provides are all features that your bank already has as an available option. I tried to cancel 4 days before the monthly subscription date was coming up and was not helped. Then I tried to cancel and the representative kept trying to upsell me as I was trying to cancel. It felt disingenuous as I was explaining my frustration that the response was that I should spend more money with them. I was told that it is physically impossible to be refunded and was told that they could not help me at all. While having the app, I never used it and it was just background noise. There are tons of other alternatives that are on existing apps we have with our banks. Customer service couldn’t care less. I would not recommend this app.

I feel better with the protection but there is a lot of room to improve
I signed up for this service and it seems to do a lot for the price. But the app can be really annoying and it seems like it should be able to “learn” over time but it doesn’t. I have to clear the same alerts every month (same paycheck every month) and it isn’t just one alert, it generates multiple alerts for the same item - very annoying. And both my husband and I have to each clear the same, multiple alerts instead of one of us being able to clear alerts for the account. The VPN also occasionally glitches with other apps so I semi-routinely have to turn it off and restart my phone. Apps just won’t load or open at random periods of time. I have a secondary vpn that I often have to switch too until whatever bug is going on seems to clear itself and then I can switch back. I like the concept, I appreciate having the monitoring in place, but the app makes things frustrating.

A Jack of All Trades is a Master of None
I'm going to keep this short because there is a free trial that you can use and form your own opinion. The biggest draw is its all-in-one functionality. You sign up and log in and then you are given a tour of all its services an features. Yes, it does everything it advertises but doesn't do it great. The biggest disappointment is the password manager. Unlike other services that allow you to import or save passwords as you use them, Aura requires you to type everything in like you're using a secure notepad or something. The VPN is ok but lacks features that other VPNs have for cheaper. Finally, lets talk about the Data broker. I have no proof but after I canceled my membership I started getting 5-6 spam calls a day and 20 or so marketing texts. I suspect they take your info and send a removal request to every company regardless if they even have your info. Well now 500 companies know that you have a live and working number. Like I said, try it out

BEWARE!
But found it conflicted with the VPN that comes with my service and I was constantly having to turn one off or on. They also offered a spam phone call service for an extra $5.25 a month and I had signed up for that as well. When I realized that neither were going to work for me I canceled in June. Still got billed July and august for $5.25 spam phone call part. No big deal. I called Aura and spoke with a lady who assured me it had now been canceled. Fast forward to September and I got charged again. Again I call and a man said he can see I’m still being charged and he would escalate the matter to see why, but it will take up to two days to get back to me with an answer! It has been two days. It’s not the money as much as the principal. I’ve been charged three times since originally canceling and I’m still waiting for a call back. UPDATE: was charged again after making NUMEROUS phone calls to cancel. Was assured each time it was done. Was told I would be refunded and never was. Never received a conformation email as promised and was charged again today October 14!!!!

Useful
Great product but need some work still. Two main issues is the Red Flag Transactions and the VPN. There should be a way that once you check a transaction that is over the threshold, you should be able to remove the red flag if its a valid transaction. It would be pointless to raise the threshold amount for a charge that is only once in a while because then if there is a fraud charge that is a lower amount then it doesn’t get flagged. Its very annoying to go in and see all these red dots on transactions that you have already deemed valid, how are you supposed to note the ones that are not valid if you can’t remove the red dot on the valid ones. I had to remove the VPN from my phone as it kept affecting my Wifi and slowing down or freezing some of the apps I use. You should be able to have a VPN that will protect your phone without affecting how everything works. I reconnected the VPN but I am still having issues with some of my apps not loading

Review on my identity theft protection
The major drawback is. The alerts are not in real time. That is very critical for me. If a transaction is in the pending status. You will not get notified that a charge or withdrawal has been made on any accounts that are being monitored. So technically someone can make charges to your credit cards or even without money from a account. And until the transaction is completed you will not be aware it. And in the meantime the money would have been withdrawn and credit/ debit card transactions would have been withdrawn from your account. This is a major problem. That is why I prefer to start with a monthly subscription versus paying it annually. Because you can see any potential defects and decide to cancel if you choose to and not be out of paid in full subscription in full and only lose a monthly payment and cancel at any time if you choose to.

Jump through hoops
I had an aura subscription a couple months ago or so, and I had canceled the subscription for whatever reason. Now, when coming back, I go to log into my account and it won’t let me, stating that since my subscription has been cancelled , I have to call customer service. Customer service helped me set up a “new” account even though I already had one . It only gave me the option for a free trial because it was under the impression my account was new. It accepts payment for 2 weeks free trial then 15$ a month after . I get into the account , check some stuff on the app, then go back to check about a half hour later, it’s logged me out and giving me the same “call customer service prompt “ and canceled my subscription because I had already apparently used my free trial. Any other site would have recognized me as an already active account, let me resubscribe no problem, and be about my day. Instead I’m jumping through hoops. Taking my business elsewhere

Not really worth it
Honestly you would be better with something like MalwareBytes or even, god forbid, NordVPN. Not only is the app a bit clunky, it feels like the capabilities of the app are not worth a $15 price tag. I started the week free trial and didn't really like it, so I planned to cancel the day before it renewed. Lo and behold, when I tried to cancel my membership I was met with a white screen that froze up and refused to let me proceed with cancelling it. I tried in the app, on a mobile browser, AND on my computer browser and none of them let me cancel. Naturally, I reach out to support via email, hoping they can cancel it before I am charged again. I, of course, get a last minute email telling me that they can't cancel it over email for "security reasons" as if me calling on the phone is gonna do anything to verify my identity. Considering the account was connected to the email I used, I felt that cancelling via email should have been possible. It wasn't until after my subscription was renewed for a month that I was able to cancel it. How interesting! I can't speak on the long term benefits of this app as I only tried during the week trial, but for $15 a month I should be getting some nice, premium used out of the app besides stuff that is already integrated into free apps and even my phone. Not really sure how this app has so many high reviews, doesn't feel like it's worth half of the price tag.

So far, so good.
I’m giving this app and service a try. Coming from Experian’s horrible customer service experience. I’ve had to call Aura’s customer service a few times for setup and they have been awesome so far. This app is simple but smooth and works as intended for the most part. The VPN could use some user options but is fast and good for a quick use case scenario. Current problem after two re-installs, is the new call and message protection doesn’t appear on the app and is not active in my online family account. Already contacted customer service and waiting to see if I’ll bring it up to 5 stars. And Aura’s awesome customer service did it again. Fixed the call protection issue without drama and to my satisfaction. Thank you, you guys are awesome!

It does the job!
I’m loving it! It informs me right away when activity happens. I think they want me to see how it notifies me. Yes. I love this! I feel like I got my life back and the healing is about to begin. My credit score is already healing. There are still other things I’m waiting for to clear. But I am very happy with this so far. Maybe I will finally get to be approved for my very own credit card for the first time in my life. Every bad score I ever had was all from someone else who wouldn’t let me be. I’ve never gotten to have a credit card with my very own name without needing a co signer. But maybe this will finally change and I’ll get a little independence for the first time in my entire life. I can finally say I don’t have to share my identity with someone else anymore.

Not Great
As with anything there’s always something for everyone. This app is difficult for me to work with. The main reason I wanted to try this app was because I get countless calls per day from scammers, telemarketers, and robots that I unknowingly signed up for. After experiencing most of the 2-week free trial they gave me, I don’t think I will be purchasing anything in the future. Please note, they do not give you an estimated time span for how long it might take to successfully remove your information from certain companies. At least not that I know of and it’s hard to research it. My information has not been successfully removed from any of the companies they claim have it. Lastly, there are quite a few requests that have been “paused” and I cannot figure out how to get them unpaused. There is always a text bar that I can write in but no prompt for what needs to be there so no progress gets made on those specific companies. When I tried contacting Aura’s support team, the “chat” button does not work at all. I’m very grateful for the free trial experience, but I would not recommend this app if you’re going to use it to request removal. It seems to work on the other services, as they found a data leak for an account I made seven years ago and had no idea I even had an account with that website. So at least they’re good at finding leaks, but they don’t seem to be good at removing information from databases.

Good App for Basic parental Monitoring
We were looking for an app for parental controls for my son’s devices and phone. We decided to give Aura a try. It was a very easy process to set up on the iPhone. I am able to set time limits so I can make sure my son is balancing real world with electronic world which I like. I also like that I’m able to block or allow certain websites and it shows what attempts were made to the phone. The app is also very easy to read, once you sign on, you can immediately see how long your child’s been on so I like that feature as well. Overall, I’d say it’s a good app for the basic monitor of website and games on top of what the basic phone parental controls.

Waste of Money
I’ve been using Aura for several months and it continues to disappoint. The password manager feature has been broken since day 1, and customer service has done absolutely nothing to fix it. After spending 10+ hours on the phone with them over several days not one person was able to fix my issue, so I still cannot access this feature. Both mobile and PC versions are difficult to use and have had unexplained technical difficulties. I also get up to 5 emails for the same alert, which is just annoying. Lastly the vpn is basically useless, it only allows you to connect to one server, and it slows down your internet considerably. Aura fails here because it tries to do too much, and it doesn’t do any one of them as good as apps that focus on just doing one really well. Hopefully in a few years time they will have worked out all the kinks, but as it sits now you’re better off using different services that actually deliver on their promises.

Disingenuous
When I bought the app 20 minutes ago for spam call protection, I was told that it came with a 14 day free trial & would block spam calls and make sure they don’t call again. I couldn’t find it anywhere on the app, so when I asked the help chat, I was given an automated response to put my name on the Do Not Call list. I have obviously done years ago and the reason I got the app was so that they can take the extra step. I was then prompted to speak to someone over the phone and got a clearly AI generated voice on the other end. Not only did it feel extremely disrespectful that I was passed along from one robot to another, but the AI voice said I had to pay extra for spam call protection. I didn’t want to argue with an AI robot because it would be a complete waste of my time so I cancelled the subscription on the spot. At least when a spam caller tries to sell me something I am talking to a human. I don’t think I’ve been this disappointed in an app in a long time.

Data Broker
Don’t get me wrong. The entire app and platform is enjoyable to use. It’s very user-friendly set up is easy. I have them on all three devices that I have my cell phone my iPad and my laptop as I was going through one of the particular categories that you have a choice from is data brokers. It removed 28 of 39 brokers that were selling my information on the Internet that was worth a years subscription. I can’t wait for the updates to see what new is added I think I’ll have a lifelong connection to this application. What I would like to see is the opportunity to keep pushing for those data brokers that have not released my information; to do so. The ones that won’t release are critical ones at that… Also, maybe a clean-up of old or broken material from app deletion.

Disappointing - Kid monitoring
I canceled within an hour of signing up. I was looking for an app to replace the Bark app I had to monitor my child’s iPhone/iPad. When I searched and saw this app I was was ready to change right away. With the Celebrity Robert Downy Jr.’s endorsement I thought it should be good. I downloaded and kept trying to find where to monitor my child’s devices. OooHHHH you now have to purchase the “Family” plan. UGH more money. So it went from $125 a year to $300 (monitors 5 adults and unlimited kids) a year. Um NO, I only have 1 kid I am not paying $300 and thats only what I saw I didn't even upgrade so I don’t know if there are more fees/charges once you upgrade. I cant get over the cost to even try the kids monitoring and time limits. I only have one child and I have to pay the same that someone can monitor 3, 5, or 10 kids. Because you have to upgrade to Monitor your kids is a disappointment. I thought this was an app to help protects our kids. Going back to Bark.

Free Trial Refund
Be aware, they don’t refund you after free trial. I have tried to cancel it before the billing date, the website gave me an error, so I went ahead and send them an email as instructed asking to cancel my subscription before the free trial period end. Still got charged, called multiple times and explained the situation but they simply said That they don’t give refunds if it was purchased through apple store. It makes no sense, I was charged automatically, and wasn’t specifically going to App Store and buying it. Now, I am stuck with waiting for this transaction to clear, and need to request refund from App Store only after that. The people I spoke including the supervisor didn’t care much and were kind of dismissive, like “not our problem” attitude. I actually liked the app, but this whole interaction was really not professional. You had a error on website, you didn’t check email, and then you tell your potential customer, go deal with it on your own.

The service is OK, the app not so much
The service is pretty much as advertised. Telephone support staff are friendly and seem like they genuinely want to help. One issue has been addressed and fixed. The Aura app is another story. On both an iPhone and an iPad, as soon as I tap anything in the Identity tab, the screen goes black and the app is unresponsive. This is not an issue when using the website on a Mac desktop, so apparently is an iOS problem. Aura was notified of this 3 days ago. So far no reply. I still have a fair amount of time before the free trial period ends. If Aura or it’s app developer do not respond I’ll just cancel and move on. Update: Here we are quite some time later. After a couple of phone calls, no fix. I was assured that the “tech team” was working on a fix and that they would be returning my call. That never happened. The trial period expired and I had to let Aura go with no resolution to the iOS problem. So much for customer retention.

Deceitful business
I wanted to get something to help control and monitor my children’s screen time. It advertised a special price of $100 for the year. I decided to purchase, but for some reason when I purchased it automate me up for two week trial. I wasn’t too concerned since the advertised price said it would be in effect for longer than the time of the “free trial” The when the free trial was up my card was charged $270. I tried to cancel and it won’t let me cancel until the year subscription paid for is up. So in other words they won’t refund me anything. This company that supposedly protects you from thieves is really shady and dishonest in their business. Afterwards I also read reviews of people feeling that when they canceled the company sold their information. Don’t buy or even try it. There is corruption in the company. Even if the product works the business is making money doing being dishonest.

From the day of Aura’s Public Announcement to my most recent login, there has been a steady increase in performance and reporting which is ground zero for all things great, and is categorically superior to any logistics operation I’ve ever been a part of. So many bugs
EDIT: I have now been on hold with Aura for about 20 minutes. I tried to cancel my membership through the website and there is no easy way of doing this. I “chatted” with the bot who gave instructions… which did NOT WORK… and then the chat option DISAPPEARED. There is no way to just click “cancel membership” so I’m on hold for now 24 minutes. I’m not even through with the 14 day trial and I cannot just cancel. It’s hijacked my phone so everything is working slow and buggy and I don’t know what to do. I’m trying to finish a work project but the app has been all messed up since starting with Aura. (FIRST REVIEW:) I’m doing the 14– day trial and am most likely going to discontinue and delete the app. Ever since downloading the app, my phone has been slow and buggy. Apps aren’t working properly. Often have to restart the phone. Pretty sure it’s from the shield and/or VPN. That’s messed up. This service is far too pricey to have to deal with that. Last straw is that now my iCloud password keychain no longer works. I never set up the password manager with Aura as I wasn’t sure I was ready to take the plunge and even still, it has messed up the iCloud password manager on my phone. ALSO!!! Still getting daily scam texts and phone calls…. So what exactly is aura helping me with???? Going to end trial and find something new.

I so frustrated at this point
I got aura cause my mom recommended it and so I did but I had to cancel it the first day cause it didn’t transfer my information to the app from the website and I can do anything to change settings or anything cause it just send me to the app which when I go to the app I’ll sign in and it just keeps telling me to pay for a subscription which why if I already subscribed?? So fine I cancel the subscription I had on the site and I retry again but only on the app…guess what it doesn’t recognize I paid and keeps telling me to buy a subscription literally no matter what I do so I cancel it emailed and signed out the app and deleted the app. I thought everything was fine cause I got an email showing the cancellations on the 19th of June and yet now I’ve seen a charge for 120$ on the 30th of June! I have the emails of confirmation that it was canceled so why am I still getting charged?

Not great
It was easy enough to set up. But it didn’t work as we had hoped. Our young teens use apps like Snapchat- so setting usage times - didn’t even track these. Buying this product isn't helpful for a typical teens usage these days. I would check my daughter’s usage and it kept saying 0 hours- which isn’t true. She is always on Snapchat. Which is a concern of mine and I wanted to monitor it. Aura came recommended as the way to monitor my teens online usage… not this way, apparently. Wait until they catch up with how teens actually use their devices than purchase. You can turn off access to certain apps entirely- not what I wanted to do and I am not sure this actually worked, track when they log in websites (a little big old school if you ask me now a days with how teens use apps) and maybe turn off their access to the internet (but they will simply use their phone data).

I’ll continue with the app as long as it keeps improving
When I first got the app it was out of necessity. I had fallen victim of id theft and so I needed to go thru a lot of hardships to finally feel safe. Aura was a big factor in helping me find my peace again. I can’t even lie I really like this app. However I also did have issues with the vpn on my last phone and on this one. Each time I would turn it on even my Verizon service wouldn’t work but it seems that the bug has been smushed because It works now , so thank you. Ps one suggestion is with the credit reports I would like the number of whoever is running my credit to ask them why maybe a solution incase it’s not me who’s wanting a credit report or wanting to open a new account because again it’s happened to me before.

I was instructed by Aura “ customer service personnel Jess “ to place my concern in the app review section which is unfortunate because I would not rate the Aura app one star. I would rate Lex the Aura Rep a zero. I called Aura Sept 6, 2023 around 9 am to ask for technical support because my MacBook needed an updated version of Aura. Because I received a message from the aura app stating the version will no longer work with my MacBook. I explained to Lex to the best of my ability what had transpired. Lex spent 5- 8 minutes drilling me on “ what makes you think your computer isn’t protected” instead of transferring me to someone with computer knowledge or having a tech call me back. It was truly one of the most unintelligible interactions I’ve had with an Aura representative so I disconnected my call. Instead I called the Aura sales department and spoke with Mika. Explained once what transpired with my MacBook an aura app message. Mika had me download the newer aura app for desktop via the aura website. My aura on my Mac was up an running within seconds. Thank you Mika for listening and directing me to the correct resource.

Great for keeping up was passwords, and staying safe online.
I frequently use my computer for research purposes and I don’t like my ISP seeing what I’m doing and of course there’s a wide range of other uses for a vpn that make this service wonderful, unless you’re on mobile. Aura on mobile is not only a hassle but the VPN does get in the way of a lot of stuff. To the point where I’ve got the disable it and then re-enable it. Besides that the anti-virus and every other function is great for identity theft and the customer support against are decent varying on whom you get. So 4/5, if you’re using this on a computer then it really knocks it out of the park.

No customer service
My daughter got an email telling her that her account cancellation was being processed. She never asked to cancel her account. She tried calling the number they gave her and was put on forever hold with no option for a call back. She tried to email customer service and got an automated reply that had nothing to do with the cancellation. If you don’t have 4 or 5 hours to sit on hold look for another company. Got a developer response about how overwhelmed they are due to the huge data breach. My response is then don’t take on more customers until you are able to properly service them. What good is a service if you can’t use it because you can’t get through to anyone to help you with your problems? All you numbers at the very least should allow for leaving a call back rather than spending hours on hold and never having anyone pick up.

Best Internet protection service ever!
I’ve had a great misfortune of being a victim of identity theft. It caused a huge hit on my credit score, along several other very challenging security issues. This app does everything and more than I have ever enjoyed in any other app or combination of apps. It’s relatively simple to navigate. Even a boomer like me was able to figure it out. If you’re concerned about your identity, and the information that is shared and broker on you on a daily basis, every time you log into a website, it would startle you. Take the next step and protecting your identity, because you know it’s only going to get worse.

Aura, technical support shines.
I called order up for technical support. I had never called them before, so I did not know what to expect. The agent who assisted me was very patient and knowledgeable about the app. I wanted to learn how to change my passwords from within the app. They were able to help me do this, even though it took a little bit of time because of my lack of knowledge of the app. The support I received was truly outstanding, and if I could, I would recommend that this agent be remunerated for their superior and highly human interaction. I could not be more happy with the support I received today. Thank you.

Disappointed so far
I used to have LifeLock and Norton. They were expensive, but when I came to Aura, I was expecting to get better computer utilities, credit protection, and I was told I would get VPN to help protect me on the internet. I get lots of notifications, mostly that I have made a transaction that’s above my limit…whatever that is. I’m not given instructions on how to correct things, but I am told there’s a problem and I should go do something about it. Yesterday was my 81st birthday. I could use some help telling me how to optimize my Aura account and useful tips on what it is (and isn’t) doing for me. I’m not a Luddite. But, technology is changing rapidly, so I need help. I’m not being offered help by Aura, so I’m feeling like I’m paying more and getting less than something that was already failing me.

Unable to use Aura
I tried using the service twice because Aura kept closing my accounts due to enrollment issues on their end. In the little time I tried the service, I was able to have SOME benefits like online information removal. I was able to not he charged because of the issues during the free trial. What I want the Aura devs to do is work on the enrollment process so that it is fine tuned and can work without any hiccups. Such as being transparent about the steps the account creator can take. I’m surprised the developers haven’t answered this review, but I gave it some time months later, and it still gives me problems like closing my account the minute I open them. Why hasn’t this been fixed yet? *UPDATE* Apparently, the issue with accounts not working is because Aura’s enrollment system has problems honoring free trials. Major red flag.

Surface service
I was last December and Aura was suggested as a company that would make a difference. I have had so many complaints but they won’t email helping just to call them. When you call they argue, tell you that you’re wrong and the problems are not addressed. I’ve had 4 data breaches and this service was the last to alert me and still haven’t on twoof them. I was hacked there von didn’t do its job and the anti virus didn’t pick it up. When I emailed guess what I was told, their anti virus is only for computers. No wonder it won’t download and it won’t work I see this up in December of 22 was charged for 1 year service then charged in January of 23 for 1 year of service that has failed in every catagory they offer and can’t get a refun. Save your money this place is a joke, I have free apps that work better. Dissatisfied customer, Mr. Smith

Unimaginable That This Happened to Me
I never thought that I would ever need one of these services! Yet here I am in a recent position of a data theft that was allegedly stolen by a sitter for my mother. You just can’t trust people these days! I’ve had Aura for only a few days and I have to tell you they are a vast source of ways to protect your identity and financial resources! I never knew of things such as the dark web! Aura started out on day one by sending me warnings about personal info which is out there and how to protect it. Heck…there’s even a VPN for you to use to browse the net and conduct transactions undetected! I give Aura a definite 5-STAR RATING!

Works, however.
The app works fine and does what it says however i found it REALLY hard to unsubscribe like a weird scam website. Firstly you CAN sign up on mobile but you CAN’T unsubscribe from mobile. Second its relatively difficult to find the actual page to unsubscribe because it feels like they are trying to hide it deliberately. Lastly when you get past the 3 steps and offers it gives you to stop from unsubscribing and you finally click on that “cancel membership. “ it prompts an error and you have to call a toll free number and wait till someone picks up. From the phone you can unsubscribe but its so unnecessarily annoying and gives me bas vibes of the company. I will be unsubscribing and i will not return.

Trust and confidence in Aura from new Subscriber
I signed up for Aura about a month ago, primarily because I’ve had a couple of credit cards that had to be replaced because of fraudulent charges, and that can be a nuisance. Also, I’ve gotten a new MacBook and I wanted antivirus protection for that. Sign up was easy and can be done in multiple steps. Rates were reasonable compared to other security services. Communication has been excellent regarding reminders and information from Aura has been helpful. The helpline has also been available to answer my questions. Good experience for a new customers!

Better than LifeLock
I had LifeLock and now Aura. It’s like night and day difference. I’m a victim of identity theft and I called LifeLock to report a problem with my information and there customer service is based out of India and I couldn’t understand a word they were trying to say to me. Aura customer service is based in the United States and I talked to a very helpful person that I could understand and I’m so pleased with Aura. They monitor way more and protect more and prevent more than Lifelock. And they have a call center to help you through identity theft that lifelock doesn’t have. I’m very pleased .

Ineffective for managing screen time
Got this app to limit my son’s screen time and found it difficult to use, buggy, and lacking needed features. Setting it up took me in a loop where both my phone and iPad were clearly linked with Aura installed on both but whenever I opened the app on my iPad it prompted me again to connect with my phone. The verbiage was also confusing, asking if the iPad I was monitoring was mine or my son’s, without explaining the ramifications of that choice - I wasn’t sure how to answer about a device that is technically mine that my son happens to use a lot. The app also reflected that usage that was clearly inaccurate - no, my 8 year old son is definitely not trying to access Tinder! It also repeatedly shut down internet connectivity on my iPad despite my iPhone saying connectivity was NOT paused. I was also irritated that I couldn’t make some apps exempt from time limits. The apps it listed also didn’t reflect what was actually on my phone/iPad. The whole reason I got this app was because the built in iOS Screentime features were wonky - didn’t expect this $99/year service to be even wonkier. Very disappointed, I hope I can get my money back.

Suggested feature
New user here and I’m really loving all the protection for our kids! One feature that I would find helpful— a feature to allow only certain websites. Most of the blocking features look like they block whole categories of content. While for the most part that would be my preference I also have a few websites that I would like to offer to my kids exclusively. For example. I have the news category of content blocked, but my son likes to do the Wordle game. I would like to give him access to the games/puzzles. Could there be a way to block the whole category and allow one website?!

Worth the subscription
When Bank of America kept using ruses to avoid repaying my overpayment, I was emotionally susceptible to an identity thief calling from "Bank of America Corporate”. He tried to withdraw money from my checking account which was denied. Anyway this cascaded into the process of trying to protect my credit. Aura immediately recognized credit breeches and warned me of a new account that was set up in Texas( where the withdrawal of my funds was attempted). The agent was patient and helpful. I'm still learning how to use the software, but the account so far has been worth the annual subscription.

Easiest credit monitoring system
I started using Aura after watching the Anthony O’Neal show. He shared his experience using it so I tried it. I’m glad I did. Aura’s credit alert system is easy to use, they are quick to respond when you call, customer service is really nice and Aura makes it easy to understand your activity. When you lock your credit they also alert you to inform you of the attempts to view your credit and they inform you they blocked their entry. I also like the dark web monitoring and the personal data base monitoring. It’s a great app to use.

Great service for me
I’m a cyber security engineer and I can say this product is top notch. Within minutes this application is scanning the dark web and data brokers. It is linked to my bank accounts. It is alerting me to compromised passwords on the dark web, large transactions on my accounts and even allows me to opt in to lock my credit with Experian. Sadly in the world today this level of security has become the normal. Know that this product does an excellent job of keeping track of your personal and financial information and alerts you instantly of anomalies.

Credit Reports never update and show no history
Equifax and Transunion say they update yearly but Experian is supposed to update monthly. The last update the app shows for Experian is May 2022. It also shows I have no credit history from all three credit reports. I called Aura customer service and they were apathetic towards resolving the issue and told me to log on from a computer instead. Update October 2022: My payment method expired and I get emails that they were unable to process the payment. But nowhere in the app can I find a place to update payment information. Another call to the less than helpful support informed me I need to do that on the site as well. It seems this app is pretty useless if everything “needs to be done on the site” according to their customer support.
