BandMix

Let me start off by saying that Bandmix has been great through a web browser. The ability to browse for local musicians, market yourself to bands and to find new band members without having to resort to Craigslist has been a godsend. When I saw that it was now a mobile app, I was pretty happy to be able to do everything from my phone. Unfortunately, my experience has been hampered by freeze-ups and continually having to close and reopen the app. The issues seem to occur the most with loading my dashboard. I really want to give this app five stars—please fix this issue and I’ll change my rating right away!!

I purchased the premier membership on Bandmix and while the app worked great for a short time, it recently started to not let me log in to either of mine and my band’s accounts. I am able to log in on their website, but when I am logged in, I can no longer update any of my content (photos etc…). There is no way to report a problem on the website or the app, and I’m not going to call a support hotline about this so it looks like I’ll just be canceling my membership and looking for something better. Bandmix was a great idea that seemingly failed to execute the goods. Do yourself a favor and find something more dependable.

So let me get this straight. I can freely make an account and browse through musicians in my area, but the moment i actually want to contact anyone I have to buy a premium account??? might as well make the app paid.

So, the problem I'm having is no matter how many times I go into my search options to filter only those within 10 miles into my search, it defaults back to showing me 50 mile radius. I travel on foot, so I need this fixed. No I am not going to go 50 miles... It worked earlier, why is it not accepting my 10 mile radius selection? The filter needs a little help, but other than that, this app has gotten me more jams than anything else including craigslist. So yes I py that monthly fee, please make the filter work correctly. Thank you. ^^

Don’t waste your time or at least do so with low expectations . I’m pretty sure that everything about this app is fake. Full disclosure, I actually paid for the service, messaged several “local musicians” and have received zero responses. Either they are not getting the messages or, the app is filtering out my contact information that I include in my messages, in an attempt to get them to also pay for the service. At any rate, it doesn’t pass the smell test. As far as the ratings being deceptive. Just take a moment read them. Who, as if writing an advertisement, writes reviews about what an app can do for other people? In all honesty, had this thought, however, despite my better judgment I still gave it a go.

This is a testimonial (I figured this would reach someone): I didn't have alot of faith in bandmix... ok, well, barely any. I've played music nearly all of my 32 years in some form or another, and I've always found people through music store ads and personal contacts (more on the latter end... footwork always helps). We'll always remember BandMix... Thanks.

I like Bandmix overall (sort of), but every time I use the app, the bottom menu shifts up to the middle, curling off half the screen. The search function is also pretty glitchy. Finally, unless you are a studio advertising services, why would I want to put my personal home address on my profile? That seems weird. Bandmix as a whole is clearly a cash grab taking advantage of musicians, but at least it has its uses- the app, not so much.

This is a terrible app. A mostly blank panel pops up covering most of the screen every time I perform a search. Limited search functionality. Waste of money. I paid for one month of premium and will contact everyone in my area then not renew and delete app. Also, way too many people with no audio samples and very vague profiles. Poorly designed, not well thought out and dreadful execution. App is on version 1.0.6 and hasn’t been updated in 2 years at the time of writing this review.

Thanks again for the service and getting me hooked up with the band that I'm now a part of. This was all due to someone reading my profile on your site. It was well worth the few payments. Good luck with the business and I hope that others find it as helpful as I did.

I got in a band within a week or two and also play with a spin off of that one. You helped get me back into playing again quickly after not playing for over ten years. Thanks so much!

I joined today A few minutes after I read the terms and conditions. Just so everyone knows, this app Is going to share your personal information with Facebook and many other companies they don’t list. I have a huge problem with that. A few minutes after I joined I deleted this app. They don’t care at all about your privacy. Also you can’t message anyone without payment. Another money grabbing, privacy stealing company. Shame on you

i was skeptical on paying for the service at first, but man I'm glad I did. I sent out like 4 messages with my phone # and got calls the same day...even jammed with my new guitar player that day

And I just thought that I'd say thanks and it's a great service that you all provide. I had one good link up with a potential band in under 24 hours of using your website! Impressive. Thanks again.

On the signup form you require us to check the box agreeing to your privacy policy and terms and conditions but this links are not only masked so they are not obvious links, but when you do finally find them and click in them, they take you back to the login screen. I may be the only person alive that reads the legal stuff, but you gotta let us at least have to choice to read it!!!!

I've used this app twice to find musicians and it's worked both times. You have to pay to contact others, but it seems to help weed out the wannabes.

your app is great. I have found more prospective bandmates in the last couple weeks here than years using other channels. thank you!

We have found a bass player. Thank you for the connections, and i will continue to use your service in the future.

You do have to pay to connect with other musicians, but it worked really well and once Covid is over, my new band is going to start gigging.

Really look forward to future updates of this app with bugs fixed and performances improved

There are a lot of musician classifieds out there, but this has been better for me than craigslist and others. Seems to have the most people on it.

Somehow they are able to get rid of bad reviews and are clearly populating it with planted, favorable reviews because this app/ service would otherwise have one star. It might just be broken? But being that it hasn’t been updated in two years who would know? It’s just that no musicians ever get back to you. Yes, I paid for the service and regret that I did.

you do however have an excellent app!, I have found a response to the ad placed and no longer need to advertise thanks for the email and best of luck...

Main problem is that it’s a huge hit or miss on even getting the app to work. 4 out of 5 times it immediately boots me back to the login. Right after loggin in…. Other than that the app is alright. pretty annoying. I have to keep going to the web version.

I think this app and website are put together very well and find it easy to navigate around.

So I made a bandmix profile to find other musicians in my area. When I found someone I thought was good, I clicked “contact”. Come to find out, actually contacting other people is a paid feature, something they never mentioned in their advertisements. I’ll be using another app instead.

Hey! it works if you put a little time into your profile and search thoroughly. And for the love of God, upload some music people!!

Runs terribly on ios as well as on Chrome. Can't even login half the time. Search by radius does not work. Half the time you go to click on someone's profile it just kicks you back to the main screen.

I have a very good impression of your site, having found a drummer through it. I am sure that I will use your site in the future when looking for other musicians.

Love it, Love it, Love it!!! Found the bass player we needed in less than a month's time. This has the largest collection of musicians I've ever seen! I'll be back for sure.

My experience with Bandmix has been good, I met my guitar player through this site.

Love the app and the connections it allows me to make. Unfortunately it logs me out constantly and won’t let me log in…it just keeps recycling to the login screen. So we mainly have to stick to the desktop version.

This platform is terrible. I couldn’t access my account on the website or app. Not once. They took all of my info, send emails about how wonderful the platform is, but it’s not even accessible. If I could access my account, I would delete it.

you know its funny that my band just broke up and was bummed out but bandmix helped me put together a new group really fast...I owe you one!

I always seem to come back to this when I'm looking for musicians to jam or collaborate with.

They haven’t fixed all of the problems in this app in years. Bad search, views crash, etc. The only way to navigate around on Bandmix is from a desktop computer on the Bandmix website!! The app and portable devices don’t work.

I've had a Bandmix account for years and was happy they finally developed an app. Great service for musicians.

There’s people faking 5-star reviews and I wanna say, you can’t message anyone. You can find matches but you can’t even message them, and to message them you need to pay extra. No point to even having this
