Never been more annoyed working for a company then this one. As a worker of this company I can speak from experience that most of the people on the platform should not be handling your furniture. These are usually just young college students or people looking for a quick buck. They have no regard for your items and if they do it’s situational. On top of this the management and customer service is horrible. You’ll need help with something as a mover or a customer and will be on hold with someone for HOURS. Only for them to finally call you back with no type of useful information. Lastly if you’re a customer, I would highly suggest making sure you don’t hire this place if your apartment is going anywhere outside of the city you are in. And as a worker here, remember that they don’t care about your well being and deem you as expendable, had a friend go missing and told my company I couldn’t make it to a job because I was going to go find him, and they tried to permanently suspend me because they “didn’t see my messages beforehand”. Tread lightly if you’re using this company.
Do NOT use this company. Worst company ever! I had scheduled movers weeks in advance. One of the movers even called me 30 minutes prior to the scheduled time to tell me they are on their way. While one of the movers pulled up in front of my house, they stayed in their car for a few minutes then drove off. I receive a call at 14:03 (3 minutes after scheduled moving time) that the other mover isn’t able to make it and couldn’t send a replacement and the one mover that was in front of my house couldn’t come back because they had other “arrangements.” They said the next scheduled appointment would be the next day in the afternoon. I was on a tight schedule and was moving cross country. I wad screwed with no help. WORST COMPANY, DO NOT TRUST THEM TO BE THERE FOR YOUR MOVE. You could run the risk of being out of movers last minute. Im not the type of person to write reviews, but just wanted to let other people know so that they could avoid the catastrophe that happened to me.
I was moving to my new home and wanted to have everything done right... I had scheduled different technicians to work in my house after moving.... and finally, at the moving day, the driver showed up with a truck said “the team isn’t coming” I was “why?, no one has told me anything” I called Bellhops and they didn’t know... and I had to adjust to whatever time they had available. by the way, they had already charged my credit card... and yes, had to reschedule everything. Next day , they show up everything goes fine... till one of the mover can’t keep going, he said “i can’t do it anymore” while both mover have the washer machine in the middle of the stairs... I had to jump in and help the other mover to take it downstairs... by then, they had damaged the washer machine and the hardwood floor ... after almost 1 hour another guy shows up and finally they finished the work. I submitted my complain and ask them to fix the damage and I got a letter saying they’ll give me $100... and take or leave it. Overall, don’t use it, there is no accountability, doesn’t have a reaction plan and it looks they don’t filter pretty good the people working for them. I recommend using someone local... but not this company,.. good idea but terrible execution.
As a mover for this company I have experienced very great communication from the company and met wonderful people. If you want to get your possessions moved with reliability and efficiency you have to check out bellhops! I should warn you though time and place as well as items are a big factor in the process for making a good move, if you hire employees without putting much thought into the whole process you are likely to get allot of confusion and a worse move than if you had planned better.
As a person who works for this company I say that this company is good for moving people in an instant. I would also say that the experience comes from where your mind is at and your journey is in life. One thing I can say about working for bellhops is that I can boldly speak to my team about Jesus and His love and continue to work with no problems. If you’re looking for a career and greater opportunities, or anything full time, this company is not for you. You will receive way less for the time and energy that you put in on moves. Management doesn’t have a care in the world for your personal or physical well-being and is money and review hungry. Don't expect lots of positive outcomes working for this platform. You will get hyped up to be the best mover but will still be looked at as a worker who is easily replaceable. Even if you’re a great mover your hard work will not be noticed or rewarded. Save your time. Put in endless hours & endless energy just to barley get paid and make this company more reviews and profits.
I’ve done 4 moves for this company and still have not been paid! When I called them to see what was going on they told me to contact the third party payout service they use. The third party told me to contact them. When I spoke to a bellhop rep she said that the company “stripe” is terrible to work with and they don’t allow customers to call them... then basically told me there was nothing they could do and that i’d have to speak with yet another specialist that only takes calls by appointment. At this point bellhop and stripe are complete jokes. If you want to work and never get paid for it this is the company for you.
It was going great the first week, then they deactivated my account with no warning. I tried appealing it twice and just to have no response at all, no email not even an automative message. I tried calling and just for them to tell me abruptly they’ll handle it without even getting my name or information ( didn’t even get a answer back of course). I used bellhop as a second form of income and for them to just take it away like that with no explanation just shows what kind of company they are. the lack of communication and service is frustrating I just want my job back.
The pay is garbage. Most jobs near me were posted for between $40-$62. I took one of the $62 jobs, and we finished early (not because the job was easier than they anticipated, but because we worked harder). They paid me closer to $42 and told me we finished early so we get paid less. Most customers don’t tip. I drove almost 100 mile round trip (2 job sites for 1 job) and did a few hours of very labor intensive work for $42. Never again. Your first few jobs are assigned, you don’t get to decline working them because you haven’t earned “pro” status.
These are not professional movers so dont expect them to be. These are college students hired to do jobs and they are not necessarily trained to do. Bellhops does not give accurate descriptions of the work to be done thus leaving their workers out to dry. You can work very hard for a customer and the customer can give you a good or bad rating based on their moods not your work which will essentially hurt you for more jobs. $13 an hr is not enough for the labor especially if the customers dont tip. Hire at your own risk. Work at your own risk. No healthcare is provided.
Issue with background check after submitting availability
I just downloaded the app and started setting everything up however after I select what days I’m available it goes to the background check it says error you just complete your information and submit. Anyone else have this issue?
Hello people that’s been the last couple days trying to at least sign into the app, as other people have mentioned yes the help lines or recruiters heavy accented talk fast and altogether can’t help you. The so-called recruiter that contacted me is nothing but an automated email system. They’ll do nothing but tell you to delete the app 100 times and try again and that’s the best they can do. I wish I could just write this for the service in general.
Don’t expect any second chances, I left for a while to go get a degree in computer science and wanted to do bellhop for the winter, but just because i left they didn’t want to bring me back on, but besides that it is not worth, looking now I’m glad I didn’t do it again. I saw to many people getting hurt while on the job, it is a lot of labor, high risk of moving injury, pull/tear of muscle, or hernia. Not worth unless you down bad.
this app only for taken people information from application I suggest for people that never give to Bellhop your information this app always posted fake job and stole people information trough there’s application than with a quick taxt msg reject your application... I was dumb and applied to this app and they asked for all my banking info before even having the background check come through now contemplating changing banks because I got a new job they don’t respond at all don’t bother there is no work. Now living a nightmare thinking I will be robbed at any given moment since they have all my bank account info
First off working for Bellhop is great despite the horror reviews I read. Second, after working for a moving company it motivates me to hire a moving company the next time I move.
Company scheduled me from 8-1, on a two truck load move, Only had 4 movers including myself. Obviously, we only finished loading at 1, so I attempted to clock out and go home. Only to find out bellhop isn’t going to pay me because I didn’t finish the job, but I did work the hours intended. They won’t respond to my emails, this is a problem.
I just wanted a job. I filled out everything. The app keeps kicking me out after I set my availability. The text support is canned messages that don’t help. And I’m still waiting on a call I was supposed to get a week ago. Can’t even get their own hiring practices organized. What hope do they have of organizing a move?!
This app used be stable no issues. Clocking in/out has been an issue with this app. Takes multiple attempts once errors start. Retrieving the address also has issues and forced exit to close the app (network issues).
I have waited 10 days to get paid for doing two jobs if I were u looking for a gym with immediate pay or just a couple days to get paid this job is not the job for you.
A lot irresponsible worker. Driver didn’t show up waste my gas and seem guy don’t wanna give me my 35. Also good luck giving you’re info to this guy. They just stole it and never giving work. Good luck and suffer.
I am a single person, I hired Bellhops and they called to cancel a half an hour before the move. I am now completely screwed. They did not offer to replace a person, only a move spot 48 hours from today with NO GUARANTEE. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE.
This app took my personal information, after I entered my hours it’s stating I didn’t fill out all information and won’t let me go back out to see the problem.
Bellhops is trash and so is the app that doesn’t alert me when I have a job and bothers me to set my availability and then sends me no jobs. Don’t use this app unless you’re ok with being used and abused.
App has many malfunctions. The movers are great, but the app has left movers very disgruntled...payments not showing up in app/not receiving payments on time/tips mysteriously not showing. Previous app worked much better
FIRST THING IS THEY MAKE YOU TRAVEL FAR AND DO A LOT AND ONLY PAY YOU SMALL POCKET CHANGE! I HAD TO TRAVEL ALMOST 17 MILES AND WORK FOR 4 HOURS THEY ONLY PAID ME A TOTAL OF $26 THAN THEY WILL TRY TO FORCE YOU TO DO A MOVE EVEN IF YOU TELL THEM YOU CAN’T MAKE IT THEY WILL BAN YOUR ACCOUNT AND STOP YOU FROM USING THE APP! I WAS ASSIGNED TO A MOVE THAT WAS A HOUR AND A HALF AWAY AND THEY WAS ONLY OFFERING $60 I TOLD THEM I WASN'T T GOING TO BE ABLE TO MAKE IT THEY TRY TO BRIBE ME AND OFFERED ME A UBER BUT I DIDN'T DO IT BECAUSE IT WAS WAY TO FAR AND IT WOULDVE MADE ME MISS MY REAL JOB SO THEY END UP GETTING MAD AND BANNED ME FROM THE APP! THANKS FOR DOING ME A FAVOR YOU GUYS ARE A WASTE OF TIME ANYWAY.
We used Bellhop after a friend recommended them on instagram... and BOY WAS SHE WRONG!!! The entire thing has been a crap situation. Day of moving - our movers showed up on time with no truck, and only 2 of the 3 we requested showed up. Then an hour later the 3rd showed up. Then the movers FINISHED stagging in the garage and had to sit around to wait for the truck. When it finally arrived the driver didnt help, and the 3 of them piled our stuff in the truck and drove to the unit. This experience they did discount down from about $900 down to $407.... BUT IT GETS WORSE. I have a newborn. So today I was able to get over to the unit to grab some things I asked that the guys make sure were at the front of the unit. Thats when it gets worse. It literally looks like our stuff was just tossed in the unit. Chairs are falling off of the piles they were thrown on. It looks like a child did this. The bed and dining room table I asked be placed in the back of the unit are front and center. Our very large and very heavy table is on top of things that it could damage with its weight. A very expensive drum looks like it was tossed up on a pile that was very poorly stacked. There is a piece of broken wood sitting on top of a pile. I will need to pull everything out and sort it out and track what broke. I called and explained what happened and emailed them photos. I asked that they send a crew out to remedy the situation, labor only on their dime because I already paid for their service and what was provided was TERRIBLE. I was told they would offer a 10% discount. TEN PERCENT to remedy a situation THEY CAUSED. Outrageous. I will make sure everyone I know hears about this. TERRIBLE SERVICE. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Bellhops now has nothing to stand in it's way. They've taken the moving market by storm in 4 short years because they don't just move stuff, Bellhops moves people. The app's launch went very well, and I was surprised at how few bugs it initially had. Once the server has a bit more upgrades to handle the growing volume of clients, there will be nothing else to slow this company's growth. I would like to see more features added in to the app such as allowing Bellhops to get directions to the move location and allowing the customers to see their Bellhops' location as they drive to the move site. I also would like that when I open up the app, it would default to the list view of the available jobs, and not the map view. That way it loads faster and will reduce the chance of a crash.

This app, and in a greater sense this company, got me elected to the status of Mayor in the Driven city of Crushville, TN. My inaugural speech of Crushville was not written, but Rather I told a beautiful story with my muscles by moving incredibly heavy things, with my close knit team of Crushville Citizens. My term in office may be short and on a first come basis, but my job as Mayor of Crushville has instilled in me the driving force to impact the lives of those in need of a move. Those citizens who are stranded without an incredibly good looking ball of muscle to move their precious belongings.
