Horrible
App is ok. Don’t bother calling for customer service. They take forever and they speak broken English. Im not being mean but when i need service i need it. Nit explaining over and over what my problem is because they don’t understand. Then i have to ask them to repeat the question because i can’t understand them. Extremely frustrating. Im all for people working but in the phone with customers when you don’t speak or understand English is not the job for you. I blame benefit wallet. Hire Americans pay a bit more and take care of your customers. These companies forget who’s paying for service.

Buggy
This app used to allow expense reimbursements. I tried reporting a “profile name cannot be blank” error message both to the app developer and institution managing funds but no action. Update 01 Mar 2023 - the new version seems to work now. I had to reset my password and re-enter my bank account info but it seemed to allow reimbursement. Let’s see if it my request will get processed correctly but I am hopeful as it looks as good as requests made 4 months ago. Thank you for the developer response. I would recommend a free backup plan for participants - get a free bank signature card signed so you can write checks to reimburse yourself. I am still waiting for my checks and hope to never need them. Update 04 May 2023 - the problem seems to be the company providing service more than the app. Transfer requests seem to take forever (waited almost a month for my last request) and app does not give any estimates of completion. No way to get support by email so you are put on hold for an hour or more. Everything worked so much smoother last year.

Crappy company and customer service.
TERRIBLE company and customer service- if I could give 0 stars I would. I had an HSA opened via my company and after 6 months still hadn’t received my card nor any information from here - called customer service and they proceeded to tell me that my address on file with them wasn’t what I was providing despite it being where I’ve lived since before I started at my current job and is the address my job has on file for me. Instead of letting me validate myself another way in order to be able to access the money IVE been paying into so I can get some medical things taken care of, they said they’d have to email me a form and I’d then have to take my own time to go get it notarized and mail it back to them. Literally calling back today to have them close the entire account and cash out what I’ve paid into it. Terrible. Seriously, terrible.

Choose a file to upload
This is for iPhone users. Would you do us a favor to allow users choose file to upload not only from Download folder but also from Google Drive, Dropbox, etc… Would you do us a favor to keep the app consistent with website. I uploaded a required document thru website, app still showing “document required” Would you do users a favor to keep users posted whether or not a uploaded document is accepted and things are cleared and good to go. Just few common sense first before you can implement “Barcode Scanning” perhaps???

Denying claims without an answer
No chat option and never answers the 800 #. When they deny claims, they don’t give a reason why! Then you don’t have a way to find out why because they don’t answer the number they say to call!!! I have been on hold all day so far and no answer, how convenient for them to ignore the call!! I am sure I will get the excuse that they don’t have enough operators to answer the volume of calls which tells us that it’s a very bad ran business and possibly corrupt!!! Businesses act like your time is worthless and you have days to deal with them, this mindset is so psychotic to think it’s ok!! It isn’t okay!! It’s my money and hire your company to do a job it can’t do!!! I will be sure to share this with my company since it’s not a benefit but a problematic problem and a waste of time that I can’t get back.

I take back my previous review
I take back my 1 star review and now give it 4 stars. They fixed whatever problem was keeping me from getting a simple confirmation. Screens still don’t scroll quite right, and the keyboard continues to cover the active field, but I now feel a bit better about this company that touches my money. Late September 2020 update: lost all my stored provider information. Now I have to load it again. And to add insult to injury, there was some kind of bug that won’t let me add a provider. I’m hoping I’ll be able to add funds to my account without a hitch.

Review of app
This app is pretty easy to use, my only recommendation is there should be a delete or edit option. I have created many reimbursement claims with errors in amounts/attachments/wrong date entered/wrong dependent entered/ or just a duplicate claim that could of been edited or deleted right when submitted. But instead they go through the whole process of being denied. Such a waste of time to go that route.

Don’t make it easy
The app doesn’t allow background switching while drafting a submission. It also doesn’t allow pasting a TIN. It’s very annoying if you try to switch out to get information, because when you switch back you have to re-login and start the submission form over again. Then you have to have a side note with the service TIN, and the receipt docs already downloaded or printed. I guess making it more difficult to get your own money back is probably not a bug, it’s a feature, especially with higher interest rates, but it would be nice to change it.

App Cannot Do What Matters Most
The app is worthless beyond seeing how much money is left in your FSA or HSA accounts. Through the app you would not now if your card was shut off due to a $10 dentist charge that was not covered. For that charge you could not use the app to take a picture of any documentation you need like every other app that deals with receipts and finances on the market today. The app is a paper weight because it cannot do the simplest things. In 2022 it must be by design, your company gets to keep any unused FSA money. It is their job to make it as hard to spend it as possible. So Benefit wallet as a company is great for their companies and bad for their employees. That is why the app is so bad.

Difficult and not intuitive
This app is difficult to get right. Every time something is entered wrong or has the wrong settings you have to start over with the claim. I just entered a claim three times before the app took it. First I had to turn on the camera in the settings…and start over. Second the app wanted me to share my photos even though I was just looking to take a picture and use it…and start over. The app also defaults the beginning and ending date of service to the CURRENT DATE. And if you don’t change it to the actual date your claim will likely be denied…and you will have to start over. IMO this is a very poorly written app.

Need major improvements
When you submit a reimbursement it doesn’t show as pending immediately. I accidentally submitted my first reimbursement twice because of this. You also can’t go in and see what you’ve submitted (like the details of anything or your uploaded receipts). I don’t get any notifications about my transactions. Additionally, my first reimbursement was issued as a paper check despite my putting my electronic banking info. I had to call to find out only the first one is required to be send via paper check. We used to use EZ Receipts and I found it a lot better. This feels like a major step back. Please make improvements to the app.

Ensure you allow the app to access you photos to work properly.
The app is fine. For a long time the upload photo wouldn’t work for me, so I wrote a review. The developers got back to me asking for details. Upon responding I realized it didn’t give the app full permission to my photos. Once I did this, I am now able to upload a photo of the bill I’m paying. Thanks.

Not well thought out interface
First, the flow of the interface leaves much to be desired and small choices that were made by the designers lead to headaches for the users. As an example, if you upload pics for documentation but have to go back to a prior page, when you return to the documentation page, the pics are gone and you have to retake them. Common sense leans strongly to the pics staying there as status quo and if users do not want them, they can delete them. Far easier to delete the pics than having to retake them.

Not user friendly
I gave it a 2 star because it is not user friendly as the actual web page. You can not open the denied claims and it doesn’t allow you to include the mileage. This is a very simple app that was just put together for very simple claims. I miss my prev ious benefits app. That one was very user friendly. It tallowed me to resolve the denied claims with my phone app. I don’t understand why my job switched to this service. Ugh the app is frustrating and the payment process is not friendly either. The whole process is bad.

With this plan if u leave the company you will not lose money that u put in or at the end of the year you don’t have to rush spending the money, I have had this for over 4 years now and really like it a lot , also you can invest too, which makes it even more positive with this company

So much worse than Health Equity
Ease of Use- 0 star. Very complicated Dependent fund is not updated. Health equity has has the money added every month ready for reimbursement or payment for dependent care expenses. Benefit wallet only has the one from January. Benefit wallet is asking for receipts even though it is health care eligible. It keeps asking for receipts from online purchases which does not provide detailed invoice. I used to purchase those items with health equity with no problems at all. Customer service contact option is only through call. No option for email or live chat.

Update The “Attach/Take A Photo”
Everything was easy to use EXCEPT the “attach/take a photo” feature. I have submitted the same reimbursement multiple times because the image is blurry. This is the only online program that has this problem! Update the program to use the camera options that find the margin and lock in on the image. Also extend the “time out” period! I have to go between apps to get information and when I leave the Benefit Wallet app it logs me out! Frustrating!

Worst Customer Service Ever
After their supposed outage not allowing anyone to access their money now it’s been a week and they still haven’t released any money. I put in the request on the first and called on the third. Then I called again on the 6 and was told they haven’t processed it because I didn’t call to have it released and that’s 100% untrue. I’ve explained I need the money to see my Dr. to do blood work so my medication can be adjusted. Now I’m told it will be another week before it’s released. This is people’s health you’re playing games with and it’s not amusing whatsoever.

Too complicated not user friendly at all
I have never used a FSA that was so complicated and difficult to use - I have had HSA or FSA for years and this one is the most difficult of them all. I have ended up paying the majority of my medical bills out of my own pocket because this one keeps denying the claim even when it is an approved medical issue! I don’t like this Benefit Wellness at all!!! Will not renew my FSA next year - it is easier to just put money in an account and let it draw some interest and use it for medical payments then save receipts and use it for tax purposes!

Not userfriendly
Takes longer to use than other health reimbursement systems. If you have all your receipts and info on your phone like me, you cannot go back and forth from other screens and back to this apps’s screen, it erases alll of your input!!! I had to restart my claim 4 times. You need to write down all your info in order to go through the process in one shot staying on the app screen. I can’t believe this is what we are stuck with!! Can we rally and have this company fix these hurdles and problems or get the boot??!!! :( verrrry annoyed!!!!

Finally fixed “Profile name cannot be blank” issue for reimbursement
Kept getting “Profile name cannot be blank” message when trying to reimburse myself since end of January. The fix is to put your bank institution name in the field called Account nickname if depositing to you account. See path below. I called customer service to get this info. Reimburse Myself>Edit Account>Account Nickname

Needs provider profiles feature, paste functionality for TIN, and day of week for dates of service
I love the signature upload feature because it saves our provider the need to fill out forms and sign paper documents. Adding favorite provider profiles, a paste functionality for the TIN, and a days of week to dates of service will make the App much easier to use and would eliminate the need to enter provider info every time.

Poor functionality
The app has very poor functionality, I have been trying to set up automatic contributions for last 4 months, but it’s not working. Even if I contribute one at a time the transactions fail. Really frustrated. If you need to call agent, you will have to wait 30-60 minutes.

UPDATE: The developer's update fixed the issue I was having. I was able to launch the app successfully. I keep getting A message that this app needs to be updated. I am directed to the App Store, but no new version is available for download. I'm no longer able to use the app.

Theirs a couple of things that can be worked on. The fact of not being able to add more than one claim, each one has to be individualized and the dates on the calendar gets some used to it.

1. When entering a claim for reimbursement, if you switch out of the app to gather information from another app, when you come back you must log in again and start over. Awful. 2. To attach a photo from your photo library, you must select “Take Photo.” Misleading label confused me. Should simply say “Use photo,” then take you to a choice to use a photo from the device or use the camera. Unfortunate. Better to just use the website from a PC.

Worst Ever
Benefit Wallet is the worst ever. I have been trying to get my claims processed since January. I have called about 9 times. Submitted my claims over and over. I am giving different information . I have asked to speak to a Supervisor various times and have yet to speak one. Then I am showing that claims are paid and have not received anything. Then they are showing denied. The person who I talk to says she’s going to chat with someone to assist me right away and tells me that the person in the other end of the chat is not responding.

User Login Issue
The app is great and so far I have no issue with the user interface. However, the way it remembers the login profile is really weird. My wife and I have our own accounts and when I open the app on my device, I noticed that her user is logged in. Then, I would log out her account and log in with my account. My wife would then notice that my account is logged in on her device. The process would repeat between us and it is very annoying. Please fix this issue.

Every time I use this, something is wrong. All my provider info suddenly has disappeared. Or info can’t be found that was available last month. This is the MOST FRUSTRATING app I have ever used. Looking for a new HSA bank for sure.

Unable to update
When I open the Benefit wallet app from my phone, it says the current version is no longer supported and I have to update a new version. However, when I click on update, it’s redirected to App Store as Open the app and not Update the App. I am neither able to Update the app or able to use the app.

Nothing But Errors
A month later and my reimbursement still hasn’t been transferred. Almost nothing works in the app. Only thing you can do is view your balance. Hasn’t allowed me to reimburse myself and keeps giving error codes. This has been going on for weeks now. How has this not been fixed? Been waiting almost a month now for a previous reimbursement to be direct deposited into my bank account. Customer service just continues to say ‘it takes time’ ??

Easy to submit claims
I prefer using the mobile app but you have to enter the same information every month. You should be able to select recurring entries and just add the new dates and amount of reimbursement. Had difficulty submitting claims at the end of the year. Also, I would like to submit multiple items on my healthcare spending. You have to submit each one separately for reimbursement unless you use the card. Then you lose money on the taxes charged.

Doesn’t allow you to “take a photo” of your receipt while in the app. You actually have to take a photo beforehand on your camera and then use that photo. I have been using WageWorks for 5 years and it’s WAY more efficient.

Terrible
Employer switched to this company and no matter how many times I enter my direct deposit info, they mail me hard checks. They mail them a day apart so I have a bunch of small checks to deal with. Very annoying. I also don’t get my notifications properly and they sent almost every claim the first time and I have to waste my time submitting it again… and then it’s approved with no changes. Absolutely hate this app and whoever is behind it. Do better!

Direct Deposit
Every claim that I submit for direct deposit is changed to mailed check. Dealing with the customer support is horrible because they apparently can’t change it. So I now wait 7-10 business days for it. I also had submitted two claims 2 weeks apart yet received the second claim check first and I am still waiting on the first. Been 4 weeks. Where’s my money and why hasn’t anyone gotten back to me on my support calls.

The app has a poor user interface. The date defaults to the current date. This causes the incorrect date to be included on the first submission. Why not leave the date blank? How often would a claim be done on the same date as the service/appointment?? Also if something is incorrect the user doesn’t find out till after an attempted submission then you must start all over! Have never been impressed with the app.

Cannot use - fatal bug
I just tried opening the app and it told me I need to update to the latest version. “This current version of BenefitWallet is no longer supported. Please update to continue using the application”. I go to the App Store to do so, but there is no option to update (just says to open, not update) which indicates I’m at the latest version already. Fatal bug. Fix ASAP please! Can’t upload requested receipt for reimbursement request
The app does not support uploading of pdfs, jpgs or any file type to a reimbursement request to a limited purpose flexible spending account that is “pending” documentation. This is infuriating because Benefit Wallet sends repeated email reminders asking us to submit our receipts, but does not provide a method to do so on their app. This is a major problem and has been for at least 3 years. PLEASE get your act together Benefit Wallet.

Solid App for My HSA
I’ve been using BenefitWallet for my HSA for almost 2 years now, and the latest app update has been a breath of fresh air. The design is a lot nicer and cleaner, while still maintaining all of the core functionality I was used to as an earlier user. I use it mainly to keep track of my HSA balance so it’s doing a great job for me in that aspect 👍🏽

Non user friendly app
I find the app non user friendly. I can’t seem to find any information needed to submit a claim that won’t be denied. I also cannot see the claim submitted when submitted or denied. It’s not clear how to remedy my submission. So far claims approved with our old provider last year have been denied this year with no explanation provided or guidance on remedying the problem. I’m really missing the previous provider our company used.

Poor Service
Long waiting times to speak with a representative, despite submitting receipts multiple times, my account remains frozen, I have to pay out of my pocket frequently and then pay myself back. This is my last year having these services, as it is my money that is being deducted in order to have this as saving account to be used for medical co-pays or purchase medical related items. I’m very disappointed.

Submit request and attach documentation
Just downloaded the app, which had setup previously on laptop, added a bank, submitted request for reimbursement, and attached a pic of the billing document. Very simple, worked perfectly, no issues.

Info needed
It would be great if there was a live chat feature or have the roll over amount from year to yr listed. I’ve been on hold to ask this 1 question. The call line doesn’t say how long the wait will be how many are ahead of me a call back feature so I don’t have to sit waiting blindly. The app is fine it u don’t have a question or need anything out of the routine requests. So frustrating.

A real challenge to use
There are not enough options for types of providers. Also, you have to repeatedly fill in a provider and type, instead of selecting from a dropdown menu once inputted once. But the most frustrating thing is that the app resets if you’re inactive for 20-30 seconds, and you have to start from scratch again. Nothing gets saved in a draft. Just a pain to use!

This app is the worse I have ever worked with and the support numbers are nothing but busy constantly. I have spent no less than 8 hours waiting on hold for as long as I possibly could, over the last two weeks and got nothing. My card is in restricted status and the reimburse self function is not working either. And to top it off, no body answers the phone when I call.
