Amazing story, problematic bugs
This is probably what happens when you have a kickass creative team, but a technical team that is struggling a bit more. The story, the dialogues, the voice actors, it’s all at the level of the best HBO TV shows. A lot of the puzzles themselves are meh, but it doesn’t matter at all, because you want to keep going through them so you drive that fascinating story further. Sometimes, the story falls a little flat temporarily (namely the ending is a pretty okay idea, but a bit of a stretch), but it’s all forgivable considering the myriad of unforgettable other moments. However, the interaction itself is annoying. For instance, characters move around for realism, but it’s really hard, sometimes impossible, to click on the “Talk” button when they move. You get a “hacker” remote control, which is an amazing plot device, but zooming it in and turning it off both work inconsistently. Worse, sometimes you do things in a way that wasn’t expected, and it gets you stuck in the game with no path forward (the Inspiration Gala scene for instance, is problematic at best). So, my advice is to roll your eyes hard when that happens, bear with the inconsistent gameplay, and keep moving forward, because it’s all worth the effort and frustration!
