Beautiful, short, fun, but ultimately anticlimactic
The game world is beautiful. The story is awesome, the puzzles range from simple to challenging. The game starts at a slower pace and honestly movement speed could be faster but that’s just a minor thing. Eventually you make your way through the mystery and everything is just unsatisfactorily dumped on you in about 20 minutes of playtime as if the devs simply ran out of time or ideas and just wrote the most clichéd ending possible. The ending puzzles weren’t hard just really tedious and honestly the ending detracts from the overall experience a lot. It’s far too tropey. Still worth the play through though. Thank you for the fun I did manage to have. Next time try a little harder to follow through the entire project with the passion and enthusiasm you had when you started.

Half finished buggy mess with lots of potential
The story is great, the background graphics are great, the puzzles are fun in the beginning but they are all kinda the same so it gets a bit boring but that’s not the worst… and even the graphic bugs and the questionable UX of the controls I could overlook… But the conversation is just a horrible unfinished mess… for instance at one point I had to go get a uniform, so I do and go back to where I’m supposed to work, talk to my droyd (to figure out how to start) and the droyd answers “but shouldn’t you go change into a uniform first?” Like dude, I just did LOOK AT ME. And it’s non stop like this where either the character says something “uh I need to do this first..” despite the fact I just did and it’s right in front of him… or the person I talk to gives me answer about something but I click on another conversation option to see if there is more, different, info, and my character asks something he just got an answer for a minute ago, or says something that was already long discussed. If it was just every now and then I could live with it, but it’s non stop. Do people not do QA at this game company?? It’s a hot mess, especially when you add all the graphic bugs and the bad UX of the controls to it…

Honest review of the game:
It may just be me, but I find it very hard to find games I enjoy on the Arcade. But this game? Wow am I surprised. Overall 8.5/10 Graphics: 7/10 - great for a mobile game, scenery and art style were beautiful, and facial expressions were almost always well done. Puzzles/Exploration: 8/10 - very intriguing and really gets your brain going. EVERY puzzle contributed to the storyline and mission. Some difficult portions, but the hint system doesn’t just give the answer straight to you, it coaches you in the right direction depending on how long you’ve been trying at it. It’s wonderful. Storyline/World Building: 9.5/10 - AMAZING world building and overall storyline. It keeps you hooked on finding the answers and the environment matches the storyline so well. Controls: 6/10 - Let me say that I’m rating it on mobile controls. It’s good for mobile, but sometimes a little touchy when you’re trying to turn or pan the camera while you’re running. It simply doesn’t like it if you try to pan the camera behind you while you run the other direction, which was kind of annoying, but fine once you get used to it. Pacing: 9/10 - The speed of the storyline and game is very well put together. I would have liked it to be longer, just because I loved the gameplay. I have 9 or so hours of playtime into the game, and I loved every second of it. Thank you devs, I hope you make more!

Great just some suggestions
So I started playing this game like three days ago and I’m already addicted. I love how hard each puzzle is (I like a little challenge) and the graphics are great the plot is great... everything is great. My brother is very annoying and he won’t admit it, but I know that he is jealous of this game. I would totally recommend it for him lol. Anyway, every morning I wake up, go downstairs, and get on my iPad to, you guessed it, play this game. It’s so fun! I’m not writing this to complaint, I just have a few suggestions. 1: Sometimes when I need a hint, the hint is something that I’ve already done, maybe you could figure out a way to make the game like more updated when you’ve already done something (if you know what I mean). 2: Maybe in the screen that you go to to get a hint, you can add the controls and the things that you can do just so we can have a refresher if we forget. 3: Sometimes it’s hard for me to interact with, let’s say, the Gang Gangs because they’re moving. Maybe make an easier way to interact with moving things. That’s all I really have. Your game is amazing, and I can’t wait for more updates, and please put my suggestions into consideration! Stay safe! :D Update: I forgot to say that this game totally deserves to be on the Apple Arcade it’s worth it, and as I said before, I would absolutely recommend this to others. Thank you for making this really creative and fun game! :)

Best game i’ve ever played
Beyond a steel sky i have since learned is the second installment in this game series. this game is set after the first game, Beneath a steel sky, but it doesn’t make it lesser in any way. The graphics, the story line, the characters, pretty much the entire game will keep you interested the entire time. I have always had a hard time finding a game that is enjoyable, has action and adventure, and a good storyline but this game has it all. This game is also the perfect length, i’ve run into issues with games that focus so much on making everything perfect that it’s so short or games that drag on, but BASS not only has intricate details but keeps you interested throughout the entire game. I wasn’t able to put it down and the only thing that i regret is that i finished it. I would absolutely recommend this game for everyone.

Worth a play through
The game isn’t terribly long, it’s a good bite sized mobile game. Most of the characters are fun and the dialog was witty. Puzzles vary from super easy to moderately challenging, without being totally frustrating. I never experienced game breaking glitches like others have reported; however towards the end of the game I saw more graphical glitches in the cut scenes. Think the biggest issue with the game is the pacing. The start of the game is a bit slow and drawn out, requiring you to talk to each NPC and explore the area. But even though the game world looks expansive, most of it is backdrops that cant be interacted with. As you get towards the end of the game, it almost feels like last call and you start getting rushed to finish the objectives. Instead of puzzles that require multiple interactions, you get a puzzle that can be solved with in one step. Ultimately, it’s a decent and charming adventure game that lacks depth to really hook the player. Still, it’s worth at least one play through!

The best game in the world!!
I swear to you that this is the best game you could possibly play on your phone. I’m not lying and I’m not joking, and for one thing I am very picky about playing games on my phone because usually there not that good or somethings wrong with it or it’s just plain boring. This game has the best graphics for a game on a phone, it is beautiful. It has the best game play and controls. The story line is SUPER creative and I LOVE it, and it’s not like one of those other games where you play it for a while and they tell you you can’t play anymore because the games still devolving because this game has an ending and if you have Apple Arcade you can play it FULLY through. To be honest I’d tell you you should only buy Apple Arcade for this game because how good it is. I want to say thank you to Apple and for everyone else who has made this creative an AMAZING game!!!!

Best game I have played (Contains no spoilers)
Honestly, I don’t know where to start, but you should continue to make more of these (awesome) games, and mind the people who are criticizing this game. The storyline, the puzzles, the suspense, its all amazing. I really can’t find anything to criticize except the camera. The camera usually goes through the character a lot of times, like it shows the main character’s body in the inside (which don’t worry, is empty). Maybe you can fix that? Other than that this is a great game. A lot of playtime in it, which is what I love. I also liked the idea of there being hints, in case anyone needed help with the puzzle. In a nutshell, this is the greatest game i have ever played. Its just amazing. If the creator/creators is (or are) reading this, i hope you make more games like this. Its just amazing.

Very enjoyable
The graphics are gorgeous. The music is very fitting. The characters are memorable. And I liked the overall steampunk-y settting. The hint system also works well. So there’s no way you can get stuck. And I also used it one or two times, when I just didn’t feel like figuring something out myself. There. I said it. :) It took me three hours to finish it. Because I play in little bursts here and there, it came out to eight days. But I left out some dialogue and there would be more achievements if I felt so inclined. Maybe. I’m thinking of getting the original game that’s also on the App Store in a modernized version. And maybe after that I feel compelled to play through this one again. What I personally didn’t enjoy as much as the rest of the game are some of the worn out tropes in the story and with the characters. Some moments in the story are also very rushed. That’s too bad. But I didn’t subtract a star because of that. I just wish sometimes games would also cater to people like me who enjoy fresh, surprising or even challenging storytelling. So don’t expect an award worthy drama. But it is entertaining! I didn’t encounter any of the glitches or technical problems some earlier reviews are talking about.

Very solid game
I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed playing this game. I’m on iPhone 7 so I balked at the 4gb download at first but it was worth it. There were zero glitches and the game ran smooth on my device. Had to use the hints system a couple times but I always had the concept of the puzzle figured out but just wasn’t standing in right place or missed an important npc or item that I overlooked. The puzzles were interesting and weren’t too difficult in my opinion. Well maybe too easy at times but to be honest I’m just happy I found a game on arcade that I didn’t want to delete after playing for five minutes. The dialogue was well written and I lol a few times. Took me a few days to finish playing casually. Wish there were more titles like this in arcade.

Great game, wonky controls on iPad mini
I played the original more than 20 years ago, one of my favorite games at that time. This is a worthy sequel in story, dialogue and gameplay. It was great to meet old characters and see what has become of UC. The best part imo is the sound and music. Connected to a stereo speaker set it was an immersive, atmospheric experience. The controls however, are sluggish and quite annoying in situations where time and precision are of the essence (i.e. Joey in the labs, a bit more time would help). There’s also still a frustrating bug quite a number of people seem to run into at the aspiration gala, my advice is to save when you got your outfit and then use a walkthrough for this chapter, since the hints are also bugged. Overall a very enjoyable ride and an amazing thing to see UC in a 3D 3rd person setting.

Amazing story, problematic bugs
This is probably what happens when you have a kickass creative team, but a technical team that is struggling a bit more. The story, the dialogues, the voice actors, it’s all at the level of the best HBO TV shows. A lot of the puzzles themselves are meh, but it doesn’t matter at all, because you want to keep going through them so you drive that fascinating story further. Sometimes, the story falls a little flat temporarily (namely the ending is a pretty okay idea, but a bit of a stretch), but it’s all forgivable considering the myriad of unforgettable other moments. However, the interaction itself is annoying. For instance, characters move around for realism, but it’s really hard, sometimes impossible, to click on the “Talk” button when they move. You get a “hacker” remote control, which is an amazing plot device, but zooming it in and turning it off both work inconsistently. Worse, sometimes you do things in a way that wasn’t expected, and it gets you stuck in the game with no path forward (the Inspiration Gala scene for instance, is problematic at best). So, my advice is to roll your eyes hard when that happens, bear with the inconsistent gameplay, and keep moving forward, because it’s all worth the effort and frustration!

Great game
The game is really great other rumors will say bad things about glitches, but I have completed this game over five times and encountered no problems. If you’re thinking of downloading this, just know the game is a tiny bit slow, but I like that. movement system is a tad weird, but it works once you get used to it. The game takes a tiny bit longer than other games to load but that’s probably because this game was made to play on the Apple TV. Also, I would not recommend installing this game if you do not have the latest iOS. But overall, this is an amazing game with a great design and a great storyline so if you’re into puzzle/adventure games this is probably my number one recommendation. – Thank you so much Apple, this game is amazing.

Entertaining point & click, story uneven but engaging
I love point & click games that force you to consider options beyond the obvious - any of the Lucasarts adventures, for example, such as Full Throttle or Grim Fandango. This one aims REALLY hard for that pinnacle, and does a fair job - the puzzles are interesting and thought-provoking, the plot is engaging, the main character is well developed, the voice talent is … talented. All in all, a good time. All that said, the story veers off into WAY-less-than-subtle Metaphorland, especially the final confrontation at the end which, frankly, was preachy and silly, beneath the standard set by the rest of the game. Plot holes don’t help the situation. Now I’m going to go get “Beneath a Steel Sky,” ‘cause I want to experience how it all started…

Great story and visuals
Really awesome point and click adventure, just what I was looking for. The plot was always intriguing and suspenseful, and the puzzles required some thinking but were not overly challenging, so they didn’t block enjoyment and flow of the story at all. Plus the hint system is nice. Visuals were great and pretty smooth for the most part. Camera work and directing, as well as small details like keeping the characters moving in the background while in a talk interaction was very realistic. Also the use of audio/surround sound? (fading in and out the music or background sounds depending on location) definitely added to the realism. Voiceovers and music were all well done and contributed to the overall experience nicely. Got this game for free with the apple arcade trial but honestly wouldn’t have regretted paying for it. Story was quite long and worth money. Yeah there were some minor glitches but they didn’t stop me from progressing or detract from my enjoyment much at all. For the level of detail and length this game is, I think some minor bugs are fine. The whole experience is still fantastic. I will miss you lil Joey.

Blown away
This was an unforgettable experience the graphics are great and the 10 hours of gameplay 8 to 10 hours just melted Pass me by being compelled by amazing story line with what would seem like a nothing court case to turn in this massive conspiracy theory theory right before my eyes and I was just blown away when I finish the game I was surprised of how short the 10 hours felt and I was compelled to two want to play it again share with my friends I thought this was gonna be like a game where I like play like 10 minutes of it and then I have to like pay but no it was a 10 hour click adventure game which I loved every second of playing and I would totally recommend this to anyone

This has been the best game I have ever played in my entire life. Please please please and I cannot stress this enough please make another new game. I loved the concept of Union city. It would be really interesting to create a game of someone new to Union city who gets assessed and then told what job he/she will get, the housing, the wife/husband. Aspiration points, promotion, new housing with each promotion etc. Make it something like living in a dystopian city. Whenever the user engages with other people with different views or tries to say something against the city or does something wrong he/she gets sent to the reflection spa. Don’t make it a heroic storyline make it something like the reality of life in a “utopian/dystopian city”.

Pleasent Surprise
For someone that was curious about spending money for Apple Arcade I was ver curious on if i would get value from the subscription. I don’t own a video game console and I don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars on something I would only play on occasion. However, this game got me hooked. I was playing this game through 1am in the morning. This game was fun, challenging and the story was well written. This makes my subscription to Apple Arcade worth it and I just want people to know that this video game is a gem and that we should support people who make these immersive games that we take for granted. I would easily pay $49 for this game. Well done to the team who made this game.

A few "firsts" for me!
This was maybe the first game that had me following the story line, along with the mechanics of getting through the puzzles and goals. Great story, with human issues. I thought the graphics were great, the puzzles somewhat challenging, and the gameplay intuitive. There were some spots with clunky graphics, and two particular spots where the hot spots to click on for solutions were darned near impossible to find, to the point where I suspected my version was buggy. But after several attempts, and after a day of separation, I got through without deleting the game. Close calls both times! Anyway, this was the best Arcade game I've played. It's worth a look.

Amazing game
I was shocked with the how well the graphics were for a mobile game, even being up high in buildings you can see the detail in other buildings and on the ground. I love the story line, I love how a lot of things are interactive and everything else. All around a good game. But I will say it’s pretty hard, I binged played it and beat the game but without hints it would’ve been impossible. Because so of it just nobody would think of. So through out a few more objectives leading to what you need to do. Don’t just be like “save the children” there’s much more to it than that. But other than that it’s super fun and will keep your concentration for sure.

Great game but I hate the story
I would give 5 star for the game design and the amazing graphics. However, I really hate how this story goes and I can’t change the ending of this game. I spend 8 hours to play this game. At first I thought I am going to save something or someone, but in the end I know am destroying everything. Joey didn’t do anything wrong. He still has that pure heart. All he ever wanted is to make Foster happy. I can’t believe Foster left Joey there alone for ten years. When Foster left the Overmann chair, he didn’t even turn his head to give another look at his so called “best friend” on the floor. The nature of human is to be selfish, without a powerful authority, Union City will soon fall into chaos and Foster just walked away from all the mess! The citizen of Union City don’t even know how to work, how would they survive in a desert? Foster is so arrogant and selfish! Joey’s sacrifice made me cry but it will be worthless.

Not Perfect But Fun
Aside from some mild bugginess here and there I thought this worked fine. The voice acting can be cartoonish at times but essentially this is a dramedy cartoon. The character, Alonzo is supposed to be the enemy who can potentially figure out what Foster is up to and end the whole thing. He should always be a threat but his voice is so cartoonishly "above" everyone as if he were better than anyone that I was never able to take him seriously as the villain. Other than that, I think for a fairly casual RPG it was well done. It held my interest through two play throughs. I’m still missing five achievements so maybe I’ll give it another round in a month or two.

6 stars - classic adventure gaming
A pure pleasure to play and even better than its predecessor, Beneath a Steel Sky. This is the model for bringing the spirit, humor, and atmosphere of classic 80s and 90s adventure games into the modern age. Excellent and very funny script full of memorable characters. Inspired use of the Unreal engine with beautiful graphics. Maybe it’s not a PS5 game but the art style is smartly tailored to the platform. It looks fantastic. Fun puzzles with very little frustrating logic. At times it was a bit annoying lining up the hacker tool to get multiple moving objects in range, or to interact with characters who wanted to walk away, but aside from that there were no major UI issues for me. That is rather impressive for a fully 3D adventure game. I would have liked the game to be a bit longer only because I wanted to spend more time with it and explore additional locations. That being said, the plot was tight without excessive meandering (just the perfect amount of meandering for an adventure plot). Extremely well done and satisfying game.

Good game, glitches prevent me from finishing
I’m upset that this game is so good it pulled me in and I’m stuck at the gala for the past two days. Going from iPhone 11 to Apple TV trying to figure out how to get the projector to accept the vermin message. I can get as close as the advert sign by the stairs after I try to load it onto the one down the stairs by the projector it just disappears. The vermin message is just gone. The first time I entered the gala I got on the elevator without ever going near the projector or spankles machine which now I know should have never happened. I walked in after talking with Alonso and it let me on but got stuck and forced me to load a previous save because it literally would not let me move an inch the controls were locked. Which started this cycle of never being able to load the message on the projector. So frustrating.

Story is great controls are eh
I really enjoyed playing this game. The story took a bit to get started but after it did,I couldn’t put the game down.I only have two issues with the game first the controls are rough. I don’t know how you could fix them, it’s just kind of tough to get around. You end up doing circles quite a bit, when all you’re trying to do is go up some stairs. My next issue which isn’t that bad is the inventory system is kind of hard to go through when you have to do it multiple times in a puzzle. Other than that the puzzles really make you think. I had to look up a couple things. Overall great game with the controls are fixed easily a five star game

The game itself is good, but very laggy
I have been waiting for an update to come out that would solve the issue, with the game repeatedly crashing right before the main character goes to a party since August, but it seems like the problem is still there. I am playing it on my iPad 6th generation which is a relatively new device and there shouldn't be any problems of that matter related to the device's generation. I love the game and would love to play it till the end. Hope the the bug would get resolved soon!

Heartbreak... still won’t work
I played this game despite the frequent crashes and loved the humor and story telling. I reached the scene prior to the Aspiration Gala and hit a roadblock I couldn’t overcome— the game crashed every time without fail. I had to delete and wait months for an update. That update didn’t solve the problem. Deleted again and waited for the next update, which finally arrived, promising improvement in performance for lower spec devices. Hooray! After a few crashes, aspiration gala loads. I quickly save, thinking at last I can finish the game. No. It crashes. And crashes. And crashes. I’ve done everything they recommend. No background apps, etc etc. can’t progress. I’m so frustrated and so sad. It’s really wrong for this game to claim that it works on my device when it just doesn’t.

Eye-opening
I’m not one to say they’re the biggest fan of mobile games. I downloaded this game looking for a fun, casual game to kill some extra time. This game was eye-opening. What I downloaded was not a time waster; it was an experience. The story, graphics, and gameplay is absolutely console-level and delightfully attention-demanding. The world feels alive, the characters have personality, and the story is appropriately gripping and fun. If this is the future of mobile gaming, please, sign me up. Best game, mobile or not, that I have played in the recent several years. I’ve found a new genre to explore, and I’m sure the journey experienced in this game would entice you too.

Great game!
This is a great game! I play a lot of point and click adventure games, and this one is definitely one of my favorites. Interesting story line and loved how they incorporated comics into the game. Loved how much you can interact with in this game. The game only messed up while playing twice and it wasn’t huge mess ups. One time it was not letting me interact with an object so I had to restart. Once I restarted it was working. The other time I got stuck on a screen and was not able to exit so I had to restart. Other than that everything ran smoothly. Love this game! Definitely would (already have) recommended this game to my friends!

Amazing storyline
I enjoyed this game so much! The puzzles were satisfyingly challenging, and I love the in game hint system. It really came in handy when I was really really stuck on what to do next. The plot that progressed through the game had me on the edge of my seat. I couldn’t help but to come back for more. The game controls take some getting used to, but are simple enough to learn. The only disappointing part is that it is already over. I really wish that there would be yet another sequel to this epic. It also made me curious about the original game, but that unfortunately costs extra.

Couldn't put it down. Great game
I don't write a lot of reviews nor do I play a lot of games aside from time wasters (sudoku, chess, solitaire). Have to say this game brought me back to the days of when I was a kid playing desktop games and getting totally sucked in. I liked the story and how the puzzles were a good mix of challenging and easy to do. The ending was a bit funny and kind of dragged on a tad but it was really exciting up until the last objective. I'm actually really amazed by the audio tracks knowing just how hard it is not only to write all that dialogue but also to have people perform them in a way that sounds believable and consistent. Definitely an audio on type of game. Great job to the development and creative team. My only feedback is that I'm getting older and the text sizes were sometimes a bit too small. Allowing for increasing text size would make the game much easier to play for us in the 40+ age range. 🤓

Amazing !!!!!!
The developers have really out done themselves here. Amazing soundtrack. The vibrancy of the colors and vastness of the world, scenery and surrounding are just amazing... I played this with my Xbox one controller, very fluid. Story has a beginning middle and end, well written and executed. Puzzles are fun and a refreshing challenge for the brain.... please keep up the good work, 🤞fingers crossed you continue this as a series or have another amazing game like this, I was super happy with this game and so glued to it I binged it inside 2 days lol, many many hours of gameplay done in 2 days :) enjoy !!!!

Amazing game
This is the best mobile game I’ve ever played. Looks and plays like a TellTale game tho I don’t think they were involved at all. It’s a point and click game but the controls are surprisingly good for a mobile game. I didn't even know it was a sequel to Beneath a Steel Sky, because I never played that game. But this game has its own fully developed story that fills you in on pretty much the entire plot of the first game. It took me about 12 hours to finish the story. It’s a really compelling, well thought out plot, especially for a mobile game. This has to be the #1 selling point for Apple Arcade

If you can get past the first part you’re a genius
This game is so hard it takes a super genius to play it without a walkthrough. A beautiful game with some quirky bugs sure, but an insurmountable series of puzzles. It goes from easy to super hard in a heart beat. Perfect for the whiz kid who has no problem going back to characters again and again to peruse unlocked dialog. It also got stuck in that a kid in the game disappeared because I figured out his part before the dialog and I couldn’t talk to him at all to unlock the further stuff in the dialog so I was stuck entirely with no hope and didn’t know it just like real life.

Wow, this is a good game.
I genuinely forgot how awesome mobile games have the potential to be. This took that potential and threw it through the roof harder than a kid throws their parents phone off a boat. 100% awesome, a little worrisome bugginess here and there but it can be overlooked by just how good the whole game is. Glitches are mostly easily remedied by just restarting the app. The autosave feature works too which is a big thumbs up from me. I only lost 20 mins of data total by my error. Awesome narrative and hours and hours of gameplay. Well worth the time you put in. I love it!

Beautiful...but buggy
Love games of this genre having grown up with LucasArts point n click adventures as well as really enjoying the first BASS. However, this experience has been really frustrating with a lot of app crashes & restarts. Even with the frustrations I’ve enjoyed it and lived with them. The game looks amazing, story and world development is fantastic but now at 6hrs odd playing time I’ve hit a fatal bug that causes the game to crash no matter what I do. So sad, was hoping the most recent update would fix the issue but it has not. Will have to let this go and check back in a few months/years to see if the issue is fixed... 😥

Nowhere near the hype
Reading other reviews, I was excited to try this on Apple Arcade. However, I was left pretty disappointed. 1) Super touchy camera pan, slow character movement: If you’re used to twitch-type games like Unreal Tournament, you might find the camera pan familiar. Now combine that with a turtle moseying along, when when running. 2) Frustratingly slow object interaction: Significant delays between interacting with objects and regaining control of your character (in the very beginning there is a body and some birds, if you interact with either, it takes about 5-7 seconds AFTER the interaction is complete before you can control your character again). 3) Difficulty in being able to target the correct object to interact with: Same situation as above, game repeatedly tried to interact with the body instead of the birds. 4) Loading times: Sat there for about 5 minutes waiting for the game to load after the aforementioned body/birds segment. Overall, it looks shiny, but past that it really feels like an ambitious attempt that simply doesn’t hit anywhere near the mark.

Very entertaining
Probably could’ve completed it within a day if I had that kind of time to dedicate to one game. Still- I found it difficult to put down. The puzzles were challenging enough that I considered using the hints. I absolutely recommend this game for story and puzzle lovers. I did find the sprinting action to be a little wonky/unpredictable when going into a sprint from a standstill and attempting to turn in another direction immediately. There was also a point in gameplay, the Gala elevator once it reached the control booth, where I kept getting stuck with no clickable options or space to move around Joey and so had to close and reload the game. This happened several times until I figured out that I hadn’t actually solved that puzzle (though the narrative lead me to think otherwise). Thank you for the beautiful game!

Underrated and Awesome
Graphics were great. Touch controls were a little weird but you got used to it. The game was much longer then I expected and very fun. I have no clue what the original game was about but that didn’t matter. There was a few bugs, app crashes, controls didn’t work, but nothing that made the game unplayable or unenjoyable. None of the bugs lasted longer then a few seconds either. Definitely play this if you have apple arcade. PC level game on my ipad was great (still playable on phone though).

Goes Deep.
I could tell that some of Apple’s best minds were behind the making of this game. No word can describe how mesmerizing the graphics are and the artwork was perfect. I love the music that came on at the end. I listened long past the credits and am emotionally moved by the song itself. The ideas used in this game really point out why humans aren’t ever happy having everything they want. It’s embedded in the human condition to do something meaningful without having everything handed to us. I loved the story and the sacrifice that “little Joey” made toward the end because he valued human life so deeply before he was ever corrupted . I loved this game beyond words. You’ve probably read hundreds of these feedback messages. I hope my energy reaches your team with a sincere message of gratitude. The entire world needs to play this game and grasp its lesions.

Just too buggy!
such a shame that all the obvious effort, skill, imagination, creativity that went into devising and designing this game—and the world, the story, the characters, the puzzles—all gets wasted, rendered totally moot by the utter instability of gameplay. beyond frustrating, as witnessed by so so so many comments here in the reviews. amazing to think there would be this many complaints, all on the very same thing, without anyone seeming to address the issue. reading back through the history, it’s obviously been true for so long, and it’s certainly been true the whole time i’ve been playing (trying to play), but it doesn’t seem to get any better. some of these games not only have regular (and effective) updates, but also have really responsive comments from designers in reply to the player feedback, whether it’s positive or negative. taking suggestions, explaining choices, apologizing for issues, commiting to improving. here, pretty much nada. so, 1 star for overall support and experience even though the game as an idea seems to deserve easily 5 stars.

Enjoyable game
I’m just starting out the game and I really enjoy the graphics and the gameplay. The narratives, however, could benefit from having controls. For example, if I don’t finish reading one of them I would like to be able to go back or maybe hit an arrow to go onto the next one when I’m done. I realize a lot of it is just setting up scene, but still I would like to be able to read them without rushing through them. Otherwise, this looks to be a lot of fun.

My all-time favorite game
This game was very much enjoyable. The soundtrack was amazing, the graphics were were outstanding and unique - by far my favorite mobile game. As someone who isn’t into super violent games, I still wanted the high quality graphics with a decent storyline and this delivered. It does kick out from time to time, but it auto saves frequently, so you don’t lose too much when that happens. Very immersive and fun to explore!

Outstanding!!
This game is incredible! The story line is well written. The graphics are amazing. The puzzles are just the right amount of difficult where it’s fun without being too frustrating. It lasted so much longer than I expected! I clocked about 11 hours of play time to finish it. I may even spend money to play the first game just to get some back story for this one. It’s soo good! Thank you for making such an awesome game!!

Great game but...
This game has an interesting SF story, great graphics and good game play. The hints are also a big plus. My main problem is with the controls. I particularly hate the double tap to run. It is very irritating since it is cumbersome to do and you have to do it every time you move. You should be able to set the travel speed until you change it. It would also be nice to double tap to quickly go to a location.

I am blown away
I feel like I’ve just played a feature length game on my iPhone 11. I was amazed at the story and the massiveness of the game. I just have never played something like this on a mobile device. My phone ran it flawlessly and took me three days and I played it a lot. Very interesting gameplay. Great problem solving, interesting theme! I’m listening to 1984 by George Orwell while playing this and the themes are very similar! Love the game! Great work!

Great Story, had to play the first game!
I definitely enjoyed this game and spent a good few hours playing it. The first small bit took me a while to get used to the touch controls, but I easily adapted. Loved playing the game with PS4 controller however. Partway through I was wishing there was a prequel, then I found Beneath a Steel Sky which I also had to play. I must say I definitely enjoyed both games and have already recommended this and the first game to a couple of friends.

Loved it
Loved the story line. Had a lot of things that you could click on (didn’t have to to advance) to tell a deeper story line. Some of the puzzles where not as challenging but that in itself was also nice. My only complaint is that it wasn’t long enough. It worth playing but fair warning you will have trouble putting it down until your iPad runs out of battery lol!

Fantastic job!
This game is absolutely incredible, the story line is immersive, the graphics beautiful, and the gameplay was great. The only things I feel I should mention is that you should probably play the first game before this one, things will make more sense if you do. I should also note that there are hints available in the pause menu, I was unaware of that until the end.

If You Love Loading Screens
Play this. You’ll spend most of your time waiting for the game to load. If you like 10 or 15 minutes to wait or cook something instead of playing a game, get this one. You’ll be able to play for about 3 minutes, then when it’s time to move to another part of the game, you can set your phone down, make a nice home cooked dinner, come back and maybe play for another few minutes. Then, play for a minute until the next scene and go do some yard work and wash the cars while waiting to continue.
