Good god I love it
I can’t believe I still had my old 1st gen iRig. I got the ultimate license for $31 off of the website, there was a sale haha. It’s actually still going right now! I’m a metal head.. I’m a tone chaser.. I am impressed.. also I don’t know the quality of the 1st gen iRig would work, but I tried it this morning and I haven’t stopped, and I got a pair of semi open back headphones.. I love Djent.. deathcore.. hardcore.. so I go for some specific tones. The fact that I found anything heavy enough to mimic Meshuggah or even THALL tones without any mud.. again very impressed 🙏🙏. Update Aug 23, 2020 Been using this on my iPad with a MeloAudio floorboard/MIDI controller, and EXP-100 expression pedal of same brand, and it works amazingly. It’s of that I went searching how to get that working and the truth was even those in pros studios didn’t know how to control it. There is full a functioning midi brain in there. All I did was google how to understand midi controls. BAM. Been using the expression pedal for the WAH and the Whammy knock off pitch shifter. Love it all! On top of that I have multiple rigs on different channels. I’m still making new sound channels I have C and D left on page 2 right now.. so that’s 6 channels/setups/rigs/ with multiple amps in each one. I still haven’t upgraded to Bias FX mobile 2. No need to.

No longer working as of ipados 14
Since updating, the app simply tries to load and crashes seconds into any attempt to open. The site says this is a discontinued product, and I’ve found nothing online about this issue, so this leads me to believe there is no plan to resolve this. I used the app every day prior. I’ve been using fx 2 since, but only because of this. While I enjoy the app more overall, the fact that I purchased an ultimate license, all expansions, etc. for 1 only to be expected to pay for the vast majority of it again in 2 even though they’re the same pedals and amps is ridiculous. Now it seems the legacy product won’t be supported even to the degree of making sure it functions. This is the best guitar software of its kind, period. But it’s insulting to have to pay for the same things twice, just because, with no regard for the fact that I had purchased all I could from them to begin with. Now, it seems like the fact that I was a loyal customer prior to this has been completely disregarded. If this all shakes out like it appears to be, this may be the most disappointed I’ve ever been in a purchase, period, not just app/software wise.

BiasFX, Bias Amp, and Bias Pedal, just do it!
I am really enjoying this troika of tonal fun! It takes a little work to tweak each piece to fit your tastes but I have found the end result well worth a little effort. The X Drummer tie in is icing on the cake (great practice setup). I enjoy producing via a 12” iPad Pro more then a laptop these days, and this makes for the best of the modeling apps I have used. Add Amp and Pedal and it is off to the amusement park! There is a surprising amount of touch sensitivity and breakup in the new version. You can easily dial in a gritty overdriven tone that cleans up as roll back the volume a lighten your attack. I hope the developers keep pushing the limits of this app, it is my go to for tone when recording via iOS.

we need an improvement for the live controls
I think the preset and effect controls were designed more for recordings than for live playing, I'm always playing the guitar live using a MIDI controller pedal and an audio interface and I feel it sounds great. but when I’m changing presets a cut in the sound occurs and the reverb and the delays stop working, that's frustrating. it would be excellent if they added a function similar to the snapshots in line6 Hilex to change predetermined effects in a single preset. in this way we avoid the sound cuts and the ambient effects can continue working, it is only a suggestion. I hope it makes sense and thanks.

Outstanding Customer support
I experienced a real difficult issue with an in app purchase for Bias FX. Went around in circles with support and Apple Support but have to say that after a few days Positive Grid was able to get me a working solution. I know others mention poor support but I wanted to share while my issues were indeed frustrating the app developer did care and did get me a fix. The App itself is fantastic. I also own Jam Up and Amplitude and each has its good and bad. I am more familiar with the Positive Grid stuff and like that we can share our creations. Now that my technical issues have been fixed, TIME TO JAM !!!

app support is sloooow, IAA inside app is not working
update: the IAA is not working inside the app on both my iphone and ipad. when i use try to use it a dialog pops up saying that the app has to be switched to stereo mode even though it is already in stereo mode, then it goes into a loop with the dialog constantly popping up, the only way to get out of it us quiting the app. finally they answered my support request after like a week, told me to reinstall the app, I did, same problem. I sent my findings back to them to help them resolve the bug and silence for days already... the support webpage is buggy too, impossible to check on the support ticket on iOS because has a cookie bug that doesn't let you log on. what the hell is wrong with their customer support system? understaffed? backend problems? on purpose? it truly is frustrating and disappointing! I feel a little disrespected and ignored. such a shame because the app sounds pretty good... I really want it to work... ........ I’ve been trying to reach them about a bug in the IAA inside app, no answer at all for days already.

Just whaooo!!!!!!!
I buy the ultimate pack in a special offer just amazing! I just spend one day on presents comparing them with my pedal board, and the sound and tones are incredible, the tone cloud is one of the greatest crazy idea, I download a lot combination. You can even modify and create your own amp combo and also they have other software to build your own pedal that is included. Crazy!!! I am using for interface, the TC go guitar the basic model and it work beautifully. in the beginning I have some noice issues when activating drive pedal, just go to the amp setup they have for modes and with a little tweak on the global setting walla! Very stable there will be some combination that will required more than two gates to kill the noice but this application worth any single penny. I want to play live with them but I want to really match what I have in pedal board. I forget the acoustic simulation I just ridiculous good. I am super impressed with this software and I pay for it was ridiculous compared with all the features.

Amazing
I’ve played guitar for over 30 years but with 3 kids I’ve been really out of the loop for the last 15. I recently got back into it when one of my kids wanted to learn. So I was still living in the era of stomp box chains and rack mount effects. I just happened on Bias FX by accident and WOW . . . I’m I glad that I did. It’s amazingly powerful and customizable while at the same time, extremely easy to use. With all of the presets, even a complete beginner can dial up an amazing tone. This one little app replaced thousands of dollars of effects. I think I’ll put all of my old gear on eBay before the rest of the world discovers this amazing tool.

Inner App Audio not working 😢
Just says the inner app audio app you have selected is not available at this time. Says the same for any app I choose like Jam Up, Amplitude, Etc. Been like this for a pretty hot minute. Pretty lame considering I just payed for the full version. All around great sound otherwise. Food for thought, I think it would be really cool if you guys somehow considered incorporating a loop application in within the app like Jam Up has. But I guess just fixing the inner audio app problem would be cool too. Thanx

Random Clicks and Pops with interface
This review has nothing to do with the quality or FX or modeling because they are top knot notch. I have used the desktop plugin for profession session work and movie scoring for years and love it (that’s why I bought the iPad version). My problem is when using an interface to perform guitar live it randomly clicks and pops like it has buffering issues. It does it regardless of when it is in low latency mode or not or if I only have one effect on or just an amp. I’m using it on a 2018 iPad 9.7in and line6 sonic port VX so I don’t know why it would have such a hard time processing this program in real time. I bought this wanting to replace my other fly date rig for the great portability but I can’t trust it because of the random clicking and popping that happen. If anyone has a fix for this problem please let me know.

Very disappointed.
So I’ve downloaded bias amp and bias fx2, and so far bias amp is by far better than fx2, because I GET TO PLAY WHAT I WANT. On bias fx2 you have to buy the amps but they don’t tell you that, which is a ridiculous tactic for drawing people in as customers. I can play whatever amp I want almost on bias amp but I’m limited to 2 horrible sounding amps on this app? Did anyone think that part through? I’m very disappointed by my experience and I thought highly of bias after seeing a lot of YouTubers and music artists playing a loomis amp or an Orange rocker verb or whatever heavy amp on the “FREE” version. This is obviously a “pay for functionality” gig and I’m taking a hard pass on this one. If I have to pay to play on a mobile app, I’ll stick to my GE labs and my real amps.

Good App, just missing an important piece.
This is a superb app and was my first choice in fx/amp processor app. Was a little lacking on instructions on the site, as in none. Took a while to figure out and the problem with googling is folks have the MAC version. What is missing and disappointing to not find is the looper. Why does this FX processor not have the looper!? I would give this a five star if the looper was here. I can’t understand why no looper?! Should have been one of the points of importance. I don’t know a guitar player worth his/her weight in gold with no looper! Except me. Unless you fix it in a patch, please?

It’s good but it’s not what I’m looking for and I just went crazy and bought a bunch of different pedals but I wasn’t to fond of any of them I spent a little bit of money too so I was wondering if there was any way I could somehow refund at least half if not all of what I bought I don’t really use the app that much and I’d hate to just delete it after all the money I put in on it. I think it would’ve been better to put a sample sound to show people what it sounded like before they go and spend 3 dollars on it I’d really appreciate if I could at least some of my money back. Please get back to me as quick as you can

Best Guitar Amp/Fx emulation!!!
First off, I would like to thank everybody at positive grid team for going the extra mile by bringing this to the iPhone. Words can’t describe what a game changer this is for me. I can now take my BiasFX anywhere without the need of my iPad. This is a dream come true. I wish I had 2 more hands so I can give you guys 4 thumbs up!👍👍👍👍 My only complaint is that the metal pack from JamUp Pro doesn’t transfer like it did on BiasFX for iPad. What’s up with that?

Money Grab
So... screw us who have spent money on JamUp packages and Bias Amp2 right? I’m assuming this is Positive Grids competition to Amplitube by IK Multimedia. I can admit, while IK Multi makes great hardware like iRig and iRig Micro Amp; in terms of software, Positive Grid is a step ahead. It honestly works even better than IKs own software when it’s plugged into IKs hardware. I am ecstatic to see this, it’s pretty much like Jam Up, but now more focused. But... I have re-buy everything? SCREW THAT. It doesn’t even link to Bias Amp 2 that I have already purchased! Jam Up works just fine for now and I’ll stick to that since I’ve already spent enough money on expanding on it. Honestly, I was just about to buy even more effects/amps for it, but now seeing this. I’m VERY hesitant. With this new thing out we can best bet that they’ll slowly phase out Jam Up and eventually stop supporting it. Which means people who have spent lots of money on all the packages, amp models and effects and etc can all screw themselves. This is just another money grab move by another corporation. If not then prove me wrong Positive Grid.

Good, wish it were great
Bias fx just like Jamup pro has its place and both are great for that. For instance headphone practice, direct recording, jamming with friends plugged into an amp, or even for gigging. You can get away with live performances, but it does sound thinner than an equivalent actual tube amp. I don't feel it has the projection to sound great at tremendous stage/club volume. Again an adequate alternative for the cost obviously if you have nothing else. Not a replacement for expensive unfortunately, tube amps and pedals. A fantastic ultra inexpensive alternative to get you rocking anytime, anywhere.

My go-to studio rig
Just takes a little time to tweak in the right tones, and you can replicate any amp, stompbox, cabinet, speaker IR, or processor on the planet. Highly recommend in conjunction with Bias Amp2. Invest in ALL the plug-in bundles. Loads of fun. Sounds great on the iPhone, in a hotel room with headphones; but I mainly use it on my iPad for studio sessions. This isn’t a toy; this is professional-level gear. Take your time, get to know it, and you’ll be amazed at the tonal possibilities!

Disconnects all the time
I am using bias fox right now to try out if it will work for me as an iPad guitar interface. I have never gotten more than 15 minutes out of the app without it disconnecting from AUM and buzzing like crazy! It’s a shame because I do like the sounds I am getting, but it’s not reliable. I could never use this live! No other guitar app disconnects for me, not does positive grids Xdrummer or JamUp pro. The other thing that makes me worried is the business model. I’ve owned a few positive grid products. You pay for something but then they will release a new version that you have to pay for again. You get the feeling that they are more interested in developing a new app than supporting this one. It’s nice to find companies that make a product and key updating versions (like procreate). It gives peace of mind. I don’t have that with positive grid. Still, if it could work reliably I would consider purchasing the essentials pack.

I'm convinced.
I'm a former professional, current hobbyist. Old school. And this app has completely convinced me. The tones are really solid (clean tones not quite as convincing as distorted, but I'm also getting better at dialing in good sounds. More user error than program error I think.). I find this app more intuitive than others I've tried. I'm still exploring how to use this live. That requires some external devices (iBoard etc). If that works then I'll move this up to 5 stars.

Just plain noisy
Beyond frustrated. The amps sound great but there’s so much noise in the signal. Everything from clicks, screeching sounds and feedback. Using an iPhone XS Max with an iRig HD2 and no amount of adjustments makes any difference. In addition the poly octaver NEVER works. Then there’s the list of random bugs such as amp icons disappear but are still operational. Paid to have everything and currently the app is unusable. Tonebridge and AmpliTube work without issue. Really want this to be stable because when firing on all cylinders BiasFx is an untouchable beast but right now there’s no way I’d trust this not to take a dump.

WOW!! sounds amazing!!
this app truly sounds amazing!! so easy to tweak and create great tones!! been using it in the studio and it it’s hard to believe it’s not a real guitar cab with a mic. would have given 5 stars but there are some glitchy things. not sure if it’s IOs 11 or not but when i go to midi control assignments the edit and done buttons are on top of each other and i can’t back out of the page. have to the close the app and relaunch.

Best amp sim for iOS
I’m blown away by this amp sim. I’ve used most of them. Most recently AmpKitPlus. But, after using this, I’ll never go back. As they turned there back on it a long time ago. Didn’t know till it was too late. But, Luckily, the Peavey Link 2 works great with Bias Fx. I’ve essentially turned my iPhone 8 into an Axe fx unit. I unlocked the full version for $30. How can you go wrong? Lovin’ it!!

MONEY GRABBERS
I purchased this for my iPad and when I tried to install it on my iPhone I found out that I had to buy it AGAIN to do so. It’s a good app but the double charge is ridiculous. It appears that the same game is being played with the new Bias FX 2 Mobile app. So before you “upgrade” make sure you find out what you will be charged for it. It is very unclear on the App Store. It doesn’t mention the price or that the iPhone and iPad apps are separate and require apparently over $100 for both.

Doesn’t work with iPhone X
I have an iPhone X, an Apogee Jam interface, and Bose QuietComfort Bluetooth headphones. Hearing the guitar thru the headphones does NOT work. Whats the point if I cannot hear it thru headphones, and the iPhone X does NOT have an external headphone jack!! Bias support won’t (or can’t) tell me how to fix this so I can only assume that Bias can only be used on old iPhones that have physical headphone jacks, and that corded headphones must be used.

Amazing bang for the buck
This is just a notch under the sound quality of a Kemper for a small fraction of the price. Anybody with an iPad and no Kemper is a fool not to buy it. I have had a lifelong obsession with multi fx units and amp simulators. This is the real deal although I suggest running it into a tube amp and cab for best sound. But you can have a super cheap tube combo and this will make it sound Godlike at times. No joke.

The best amp app out there
I plug my iRig into my iPad, open up Bias FX, and any amp sound I want is at my finger tips. It was cheaper to get this and Bias Amp than to get a regular amp and purchase all of the effects Bias FX has. I’ve been able to make some fun songs using GarageBand as a home studio. I would highly recommend this.

Broken, What Happened? No output
This app worked perfectly ever since I bought it but for the last three days it has not been outputting ANY sound. I know everything is being inputted correctly because the tuner works, and whenever I switch between presets, it’ll make a sound of audio (I strum while I switch to be sure) but when it’s done loading it’s silent again. It’s also not working with Inter App audio at all. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it’s just broken.

The Best Amp Interface App I’ve used except…
I love this app, I’ve compared it to Amplitube and ToneBridge and this one works way better than both, it doesn’t give me deafening feedback on heavily distorted tones and has better sounding effects. My only beef with this app though is that the tuner is super off. I’m have my guitar in standard and it shows the E as D. I even used Fender Tune to check if my guitar wasn’t just super down-tuned, and Fender Tune is awesome. I love this app but please fix the tuner. Update: I m getting annoyed after 2 updates after my first review the tuner still isn’t fixed, hurry with fixing it!!!

Frustration
The app does not seem to work well with multi channel usb audio interfaces. Can’t select input or outputs. Furthermore I can’t see or hear the bias amp integrate with it. This is great as a casual level app but not a serious pro app. This should be easy but I can’t see or hear any difference with the bias amp purchase. Also was not working right with my usb audio interface. All I get is mono out even when hard panned and meters show sound only on 1 channel.

I love this app. I even spent 50 bucks on the ultimate version. That’s why I’m so upset. It’s been over a week since I’ve been able to even use the app. I shouldn’t have to wait this long to use an app I spent 50 dollars on. The BEST High Gain Distortion for iOS!
As of this review I have tried everything available for iOS and while Nembrini and GE Labs are close seconds nothing matches whatever magic is used in this app. Coupled with amp design in Bias Amp for iOS the possibilities are endless. It is unfortunate that Positive Grid has decided not to deliver an AUv3 version even as BFX2 is being released. Inter App Audio can be problematic and is also a deprecated Apple format. Please PG give us AUv3.

Starts recording randomly when iPad is locked
I’ve got an iPad mini 4 (128gb, if it matters) that starts randomly recording in Bias FX when I close/lock it with the official apple Smart Cover. Have tried restarting iPad, updating both iOS & the app software and it still does this, despite not even opening the app for months. It drains my battery every time this happens and there’s seemingly no way to stop this bug.
