I love this app’s simplicity and it is the only one like it (that I can find) which can block certain websites on my phone for free. It even lets me put passwords on my settings, which is really great. However, rather than blocking websites only at the times I set, it blocks them all the time. This means that I have to keep turning the settings off and on because I do need to access the sites sometimes. Unfortunately, this does not help anything, since I can simply turn the settings off and on any time and am very used to it. The issue is that I downloaded the app to help me where I don’t have the self control I need, but because I have to mess with the settings on a regular basis, I am very accustomed to changing them and therefore, it is very easy just to turn them off and continue on. It really hasn’t helped with the issue at all and is kind of just useless.
I am thankful there’s a free app that works for safari on iOS. I wish it could sync my rules using iCloud across iOS and iPadOS (I had to set them up and manage on each device.) Also, wish there was a desktop macOS client. And, obv wish it worked with other clients like chrome. But, considering this is free I’m just real thankful this exists. It’s bizarre to me that apple doesn’t offer this for adult accounts as a default feature and we need to download third party apps. Especially, when they offer this for child accounts!
This has everything I needed in a website blocker— scheduling (including multiple schedules), unlimited blocklists, and it’s free. It does periodically have an issue where it won’t block during a scheduled period, or will keep blocking after the scheduled blocking time ends, but all you have to do is open the BlankPage app again and the blocking will correct itself. No complaints!
I had a problem with a website. It had explicit content and that needed to stop. I had tried to just not go to it but the temptation got to me. I am not proud of it but atleast it has come to a halt. This app has and will change my life. Thank you, divinefoal
There were some sites I wanted to block to prevent myself from wasting time, and this app is perfect. Free, straightforward, and easy to use. Works perfectly!
Tried to install this app for productivity. The set up is cumbersome and confusing. On top of that, when I tried to use the schedule feature, a shooting game of some sort popped up, and I couldn’t move back to scheduling until I “destroyed” all the fireflies or whatever they were supposed to be. I don’t need extra time wasters.
If I had the willpower to resist these addictive apps and sites I wouldn’t need this app. I don’t understand why there isn’t a password feature. Or a time-based “lock” feature (block for next 3 hours).
Has lots of potential as a simple way to block sites for free — but it doesn’t work well and has to constantly be turned off and back on for it to even work.
Simple interface. Doesn’t always work. I have not touched the settings since I installed it but about half the time the blocked url will open anyway. Nice when it works.
The app works as advertised, but at one point I had to watch a one minute ad which automatically opened the app store at the end to continue using the app. It doesn’t matter how well your app works, any app with ads like this deserves one star.
Thank you for making this app. It’s the best free app with no hidden fees or subscriptions. I have some feedback: is it possible to export blocklists or sync them across devices? Also, would it be possible to implement URL pattern matching, so we can block any matching URL instead of listing them all?
In app purchases is one of the things I am trying to get rid of and within one minute of setting it up, I had three ads and one was for a game to play. Counter productive for trying to stay focused. Will BUY an app that doesn’t have this issue.
I noticed how poisonous social media could be long ago and as a result I decided never to have any social media platform however YouTube is my kryptonite. I can spend hours of my day watching YouTube videos, especially YouTube’s new “Shorts” which are extremely addictive! Anyway I use this app to block YouTube and YouTube mobile. I have been YouTube free for weeks now and as a result I am far more predictive with my day and get quite a lot done now. I created a very long complex password and provided it to my wife for safe keeping. Deleted the complex password from my sent box and have zero access to it. Without this password I am unable to unblock the YouTube site. This is what I need! Obviously there are ways to get around this but I luckily will not go that far. I need to constant reminders. I at least have enough self control to not download the YouTube app on my phone, I do not however have enough self control to NOT visit the mobile YouTube site via web browser to watch videos. I’m thankful for this app. It works very well! 5 stars for sure!
Followed setup instructions, set permissions, and even tried the site used in the App description (youtube.com, twitter.com). Neither were blocked on safari
By entering the URL of a site you don't want to see into BlankPage, you can prohibit access from Safari. By blocking sites that interfere with your work, you can concentrate on what you need to do. You can also use the schedule feature to block sites only when you want to concentrate on your work. Another way to use this feature is to prohibit access to all sites during the time when you normally go to bed. This can prevent you from surfing the net before going to bed and staying up late.
