App seems pretty good; may have loopholes.

I just downloaded and got premium. Wanted to test it right away. It seems pretty good at blocking. I’m concerned that there could be a pretty easy loophole with search engines. Would be nice if this app would keep search engines locked in safe mode and not allow switching to “off”. Bad images could still be found without filtering. Especially not so mainstream engines like DuckDuckGo.

The reason for 1 star is to hopefully get your attention. But until you read this I’m not changing it. So first things first, I like how you can block the P from your device and that’s great! BUT! 1. You need a monthly subscription thing or should add one, it would be much better for everyone and doesn’t look like you wanna take a load of money out of someone’s pockets just to block a few sites and yes I know it’s free but some things in premium should be free or at least lower price like 5 to 10$ a month. 2. You can’t see your posts unless you scroll through the feed. Unfortunately. It also doesn’t bring you to your post when you get a notification on it. 3. Not sure if it’s just me or this happens with everyone else but I’m on a tablet and I CANT see the full posts on the time line, it shows half of it and I have to click just to see it. Also when I click the app kinda freezes so I have to reset. Could be the tablet on that one but it’s a pretty new tablet so idk. But that’s the big issue. 4. You need a new layout on this, make it how all the other social media’s are at least, make all posts in the middle of the page so it’s clear enough to see, and easy to manage. 5. Make it where when you click on your profile you can see your posts please, cause whatever y’all got going on is pretty bad as mentioned in #2 Please take the time to resolve these issues. Thanks.

YOU CAN DO IT!

The first step of facing any problem/addiction is always the hardest. I have spent almost all of my life addicted to porn. I always told myself that I had the will power to break it on my own, but I always failed. I knew that taking the first step and downloading this app would relieve me of my porn addiction would be the end of my addiction, so the evil side of me kept it alive for as long as I could take it. Take it from me when I tell you that by downloading this app, you have already conquered the most difficult step in treating your addiction. You just have to believe in yourself and constantly remind yourself that you deserve to be happy and enjoy life addiction free. You deserve it!

Does what it should but interferes with App Store

The app has been great at preventing relapses on P and helps me keep myself accountable BUT! The app seems to interfere with the App Store for Apple products. I just had to disable BlockerX on my iPad so that I could download a Planner/Journaling app. BlockerX seemed to outright block me from downloading the app on iPad. Trying repeatedly on iPhone and turning on/off Wi-Fi a few times seems to eventually let me into the App Store. iPad will allow me to open the App Store and search for apps easily, but won’t allow me to download/install apps. iPhone will simply tell me it cannot connect to the App Store without repeatedly closing/opening the App Store and turning on/off Wi-Fi. Once the iPhone can finally gain access to the App Store, it has no issues downloading apps.

SCAM, please don’t buy

This app is a blatant scam and took 162$ from me without even confirming any of my personal information for a receipt, thank God Apple Pay always sends you your recent purchases so I have documentation of that. It took this money from me and when I went to go check my bank account(which was immediately charged) and came back to the app I was KICKED OUT. everytime I tried to sign back in with my gmail it would say “Unable to verify subscription” and is asking me to RENEW my subscription, which is crazy considering it took 162 from me. I thought it was a monthly subscription but nope, took the 162 straight out of my account and kicked me out of the app. So now my concern is if they are going to charge my card again since it’s already been on file and apparently it “auto renews”. Complete scam do not get this app.

A suggestion

Its a really useful app but i had an idea how about it instead of having an accountability partner what if there was an optional feature where when you search up any sort of porn the panic switch will be automatically activated. Just like the iphone lockout feature for example you search up porn on google then the panic switch acivates for 15 minutes then if you do it a second time it will block it for 30 minutes 3rd offense the panic switch would be activated for 1 hour so on and so forth. This would be a really useful feature for me.

Predatory Pricing Structure

This app markets itself as a p*** blocker primarily, with adblock support and other features. There is no way that their asking price is not preying on a vulnerable population of people with existing p*** addictions. A year of service or a lifetime access fee, both of which are over $100, are the only options, with no monthly subscriptions, although at those prices I doubt it would even be worth considering if it existed. The 3-day free trial (wow thanks so generous) is clearly designed for you to sign up and forget to cancel so they can take your money before you realize it. Folks, there are plenty of apps that can provide this exact service at a fraction of the cost. Community features + buddy support is nice but there’s no way it’s worth that much money.

It really works!

The free part is just amazing! The premium version looks really good too! But all you gotta do is download this app, accept the prompts on screen, click on BlockerX icon, switch the p*rn filter on, accept a few more prompts and bam!!! Try searching phub with an Incognito tab… doesn’t work! Haha! Finally, cut the crap has never been taken any better! I highly recommend a try! Thank you BlockerX for your hard work and really great app! Will be recommending for my friends who need it most!

BEWARE!! They WILL charge you!!

They advertise a three day trial but then automatically charge your card without notice. You get no choice. Then “their policy” is “No refunds on renewals.” I get an app I didn’t like, don’t want, simply wanted to try—all for $90. The REASON I don’t want it? When I installed this on my iPad, it did not allow me even to open a browser. It was as if my WiFi got turned off. As soon as I removed it they all worked again.

Doesn’t Work

I purchased the one year membership. When I attempt to active the blocker, it’s says that it’s a premium feature that must be paid for. I already paid for it. This is an endless loop. I can never turn on any features. Sometimes a blank page appears that never loads anything. Sometimes I get an error message. No matter what I do I can’t get the features to start working. It seems to not be able to recognize that I purchased the premium option. But yet when I click on it it says it it purchased and then sends me back. Is this an ios16 issue? Pretty disappointed. Hopefully it will start working soon.

Poor customer service

I agree with others that while this app has its hiccups, it is effective for the most part. What I am most disappointed in is their lack of integrity. I was subscribed to their annual service for over a year and when I saw the next annual year charge, asked that I be refunded and cancel (within 3 days of the annual fee charge), I was told that they will not issue the 80$ refund. This is sleezy, disappointing, and predatory behavior. I don’t understand how every other annual service existing will give at least a partial refund, but they won’t. Please choose a service that will be fair to the customer and value you.

Not feeling a trustworthy service

I was actually excited to utilize this service. The first thing of accessing the app and website before exploring any of its features. It leads you to almost nothing but “sign up for the premiums.” Ok, I saw some interesting features I like to use. So I signed up for it and got the trial. I try to activate some features. But it repeatedly told me sign up for the premium again after I already did. I tried to explore the features more. But it all leads back to “sign up for the premiums.” It acts the same whether its an app or website. I don’t know how they received 5 stars by many or why it’s worthy of 5 star.

Dont get scammed had to get bank involved

Non existent customer service they will bill amd bill no matter what had to get my bank involved and notified apple this app should be taken off the app store I tried the trial this app is not what im looking for as it has easy to figure out loopholes so ive been trying to unsubscribe you cant the link they send you is bogus i emailed them got no response time to call the credit card company and im pretty sure this goes against the terms of service of the ios store so i will follow up with them as well total scam google has removed it from the app store whats ios waiting for?

So far so good!

So I really like this app! Because I’ve been addicted to porn for over a year and it’s been really hard to stop. But this just makes it so easy to quit! I love this app! The only thing tho is that I thought there were key words where you enter a word like “porn” and it blocks you from searching the word “porn” I would really like to see that for the free section 😊

Amazing.

Been looking for a great web blocker app to help me with my addiction. This app does it the best! There’s no way around the web blocker without deactivating the VPN I’ve tried every keyword to see if I could get around it, impossible. Best app on the store for a free web blocker. Only suggestion is to add a password to access the app and to deactivate the VPN. Still an all around perfect web blocking app. Thank you.

Ultimate money grab

This app has taken 170 dollars from me and though it does a okay job at blocking stuff it blocks some necessary functions on your phone. For whatever reason when I have it downloaded I can’t use navigation or the APP STORE. The “buddy feature” is not only the biggest scam it makes the app useless. I had to pay 20$ just to delete the blocked sites that for whatever reason blocked my use of the App Store. Honestly it’s terrible that so many people also had to go through what I did and I think this app should be taken off the store completely

I really love this app, but I would change one thing…

I absolutely love this app. I love how you can block porn for free with the VPN and it’s very easy to get it all set up. However, I would like an option to make it not so accessible to turn off. Like some sort of password protected option so when you go to turn off the blocker, you have to type in a password. If there’s a way to do that, someone help me out lol.

Impossible to get refund!!!!

The app may work well. I never got a chance to experience that. When I set up my accountability partner they did not get the notification. Went to customer service and did what they advised multiple and it didn’t work. When I decided to cancel the service they refused to refund my money saying “ we apologize for any convenience caused. We’d like to inform you that as per our terms of usage, we don’t process the refund.” If you do get stuck be sure to block there access to your card because they WILL take a payment the next payment.

Good App but.....

The app does its job but it isn’t perfect. Some suggestions to make this app 5 stars: 1. You can deactivate the apps effect by logging out something needs to be done about this. 2. You shouldn’t be able to log out whenever you want maybe have a password to log out. 3. Be able to interact with your accountability partner (when you give them your email).

This app is really good, but…

I really do enjoy this app but there are a couple of things that needs to be fixed: 1. The VPN - The VPN blocks my cellular data so I can’t use it when I’m not on WIFI. I test it to see if it’s my cellular and it works well when the VPN is off. When I asked support about it, they said they’ll look into it. So, I’m just waiting for that. 2. Premium Purchase - I purchase lifetime premium because I really liked the app. However, when I bought it, I was still on the free version. I had to request a refund from Apple. I still have some trust issues getting it again because I don’t want that to happen again. The support team was helpful and willing to work with me when it happened tho. Overall, great app! Especially if you have an accountability partner.

SCAM!!

They position a button to make it look like you are using Apple to automatically create a free account for you so you don’t have to bother with making up a password. Next thing you know you just purchased a membership cause your thumb was on the home button for too long. When I realized what was going on, I couldn’t remove my thumb in time. This is VERY deceive as many might not even know they purchased an account as most use that Apple feature all the time with new apps to then go on to the next menu without a second thought.

It does the job and it’s free

I enjoy the app cause it’s free and it does its job well. The only problem I have with it however is that it keeps disconnecting me from the VPN which is kinda annoying since I have to constantly reconnect to it. I just wish that would stop happening otherwise I would have given them 5 stars easy.

One of the best apps. It has an issue though, if you install it on a new device, the quiz does not give you the option to answer that you have been away from porn for years, it enforces you to pick options in order to complete activation the app.

Time filter needs to be on permanently!

The time selection keeps going off and I have to redo it over and over again. Sometimes when I know my filter is not on I’m tempted to watch porn. This is a problem. If I know my filter has a 2 hour block on it every time then I won’t be so tempted to watch porn. Basically there needs to be a change where the filter is on permanently, not we as the addicts have to keep putting it on. That type of loose freedom will make us slip.

Zero stars if possible!! 👎🏽

This app doesn’t do anything more than what your screen time settings can already do better. The porn blocking vpn doesn’t even stay connected half the time, and the app isn’t functional. “BlockerX pro” is what they offer since the original app doesn’t even work correctly. Any app is better than this one, don’t fall for the money grab like I did. PS. The developer responses are the same generic sentences if you look through the reviews, and they never actually update their app.

VPD disconnects… A lot

For someone a bit tight on money, a the premium is not optional although has great features. The free version works great, it offers blocker and an accountability partner. The problem is the VPN disconnects a lot so the blocker disconnects. Sometimes it won’t reconnect unless I manually do it. This defeats the purpose of the blocker. During that time you can access any content. It’s a great app , I would give it five stars if it did not disconnect as much.

Scam

AVOID AVOID AVOID!!! I paid for the l lifetime membership thinking this thing actually works but no, I can just turn off vpn in settings and this whole thing is gone. WORTHLESS. Do not get this it’s nothing but a scam. If a simple vpn turn off can get rid of this or just uninstall by typing sentences. It’s useless. DO NOT BUY! THIS IS SCAM! I’m going to report this app to a friend that works with apple who’s close friend with apple services boss. And get this scam removed unless I can get my money back. Use this app for 30 mins and saw how much of a scam it was.

The app has great potential

For me the most useful tab is community..when you see how many other guys(mostly) are struggling like you it motivates you! However, it is extremely clunky .you cannot return to a post that you have submitted in the past to view comments on it. This is a huge sticking point because in order to inspire each other we have to be able to see how people are responding to our comments !!!

Filter Issue

The app so far seems to be useful I just put it into application as I try to overcome this challenge, the only thing that’s making me a bit nervous or hesitant is that the porn filter seems to shut off frequently and I have to keep going on to return it on, is there any way to set it to stay on?

Update to my prior review.

The developer pushed an update through the App Store and the connection problem is now resolved. Also, i forgot to point out that when I downloaded it originally, it was killing my battery life. The app is now not really impacting my batter life, so whatever they did it’s working nicely now. Thank you!

Definitely needs improvement, wouldn’t buy

It doesn’t block all types of porn because you can go into google and turn in off if you really wanted too, it also doesn’t block nsfw content on Twitter or Reddit. The only thing it does is block individual sites that you put into it and this app is be completely useless because on apple you can do that to so it completely defeats the purpose of this app. The journal feature is completely broken too.

I had this app for a week and I couldn’t watch any porn as long as you leave it on I tried searching up porn to see if it work and it really does block out all porn amazing I beat my meat 3 to 5 times a day in one seesion this definitely helping me

I've been watching porn an I know that it messes with your dopamine and I tried to get addicted to vaping to help but that didn't work and that's a bad idea. If you ever need help with hat type of thing then please contact someone. This app has helped me an I'm thankful for it.

Minor issues

I believe this app is great, however, I think there are minor issues. I have certain apps blocked off and it is easy to unblock them and use them. I think your buddy should approve of it if you want to unblock it, like blocked websites. Thanks!

Cant get past the loading screen.

I logged in and it loads for forever. Left my phone for 5 minutes and came back and it was still loading. I’m sure it’s a good app but i can’t even use it.

Good everywhere but here

This appears to be a good app on pc, but on the iPhone it randomly blocks apps on your phone( Chrome, Clash Royale). When I say it blocks chrome I mean entirely, no good sites, either. It also has you in the VPN even if you don’t have porn block turned on. To fix it you have to turn off the VPN (it turns it back on eventually). So kind of annoying

This is not it

They force you to complete a questionnaire at the beginning, which asks you how often you watch porn. The least frequent option was “Once a day.” Really? What if I haven’t watched it in months? And then they show you statistics of porn usage and improvements after using the app, which I’m sure based on my experence are horribly inaccurate. Can’t even use the app for 2 seconds without being forced to confront a paywall.

Overpriced

Successful companies often charge what they should charge for a product/service. Bad companies will charge what they “can” charge and get away with. For what you get, this should be a simple one-time $15 app purchase. Not a monthly fee. Think about what else costs $15 per month. Streaming services give you new things all the time. New movies, new shows things that have value. What is this app directly giving you? Not indirectly, directly.

Doesn’t work as intended

Though the intent of the app is great it doesn’t only just block explicit content it also blocks apps like WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and Safari browsing. And perhaps many more app services form using internet online. I hope the team looks into this big and makes improvement in their software.

Looks great but has some bugs

Customer service is slow and can only be utilized via email if you're an accountability buddy. Email said you have to download the app when a buddy but support says you don't. Takes for ever to get the notification email, it needs to be immediately processed. Having a texting option for accountability would be great.

Faulty Panic Switch

At one point, you could turn on the panic switch for the durations of time listed, and you HAD to wait out the time you picked because you couldn’t undo it. Now, you have the option of turning off the panic switch BEFORE the duration of time is through. I don’t know if this came with an update, but what’s the point of the panic switch if you can manually switch it off?

How are you charging $180 for an app that literally DOES NOT work???

Quite clearly most of these comments are manufactured because most of this apps features do not work. I can’t even simply send someone a message. The app gets stuck in a ridiculous feedback loop and ultimately crashes. Sometimes I can’t even open a profile without the app crashing and resetting. I have a brand new iPhone 13 and this is the only app I’ve ever had trouble using.

So I found this app and it helped me so much, I had porn addiction and I want to stop it so I tried some tutorials and then I saw a video mentioning this app so I tried it out and it’s very great, thank you so much for inventing this app!

Porn Filter Blocks Entire Internet

After downloading your app and paying my $150 I was excited. One of the first things I did was turn on the “porn filter” and that’s when I lost all my situation changed. Once the “porn filter” was on my phone wouldn’t access the internet in any way. I couldn’t check my bank account, my email, ANYTHING. Is this a known issue? What do I do now? If this can’t be resolved I’m going to need my money back.

Doesn’t work

This app is so glitched. Every time you go on the app you have to sign in with credentials. You can easily turn off the porn blocker without a passcode which doesn’t make sense? On the computer app you can also just disable the blocker without any sort of passcode so it defeats the purpose even having this blocker. I have tried unistalling and reinstalling the app about 5 times and it still glitches out. Terrible.

VPN blocking my cellular data

The vpn is blocking my cellular data and the only way to access my data is to delete the app. The vpn does a great job of blocking all the bad stuff on the internet , I just had an issue with my data not working on it. I use boost mobile and hopefully it’s not them that has a compatible issue.

Good but it’s got some bugs

While it’s got some good stuff to offer and it helps it’s not as good as Brainbuddy. The price is a bit expensive for a lifetime membership and for the yearly membership. They also need to iron the bugs out. I was taking my porn addiction test and I took 3 TIMES and it would not show me the result 😤🤬🤬. Unacceptable!!

It’s okay

It does block porn sites. That’s good. However, the Community Section is full is people that post, and few that interact with others. Overall, BlockerX is ok. Since I wrote this, I have deleted the app. I’m not convinced that the Developers haven’t placed bots amongst the real people. There are too many of the same “people” that repeatedly ask for support on a daily basis ignoring those offering it. I could go on, but I won’t. Don’t get this app.
