Decent
The game's gacha itself is decent, people who complain the rates are low are just purely unlucky, it's a gacha game, some characters are bound to be pity pulled, not all characters are supposed to be obtainable when it first releases if you aren't going to spend for it. If someone complains about needing 200 pulls to get a character vs a person who gets it in 50, some are luckier than others. People also complaining about this game's gacha should be trying Fate if they REALLY think it's bad. The story is definitely mediocre, definitely better games with better story and lore. This game passes as a side game and not as a main game where you should be so heavily invested in, if you haven't started during week of release you'll be finding yourself in a struggle to keep up with people who are running around with meta if you aren't going to be tossing money like candy. Overall I like the game for it's art and cuteness, I don't invest myself in the game for hours like others to finish up dailies, some events are weak in rewards and could definitely be improved. If you genuinely dislike the game, go join a group so you may/may not see the game in a different light.

I want to give this 5/5 stars but…
I love this game. Everything about it. The characters, gameplay, story, events everything is perfect. And the dev team behind this game really do care about the game and I thank them for that. I thank them for listening to the player base, most recently being a certain line about a princess being fixed, which made the fan base very happy. But the only thing that is stopping me from giving the game a 5 out of 5 is the issues with the English translation/localization that show up with new content added to the game. The most recent example is a character named Aris who describes her self as a “yuusha” a Japanese word for “hero”. But was translated to “warrior” in the global release, which is completely the wrong meaning for her character and actions she takes entirely. And is leaving a bad feeling amongst part of the player base. It has even reached the Japanese player base who are now confused that the JP server and the Global server are different versions of Aris, or that the regions have different meanings of the term “Yuusha” and has spread some confusion. I do hope they change the translation to “Hero” for the Aris we all know and love I do love this game and want it to be the best it can be and I know it can be. Thank you for your time reading this. If the dev team have fixed issues mentioned in this post, please see this review as 5 out of 5 stars. And Sensei’s, please enjoy Blue archive!

Cash grab that plays decent
Honestly not a bad game. Put alot of work into the story (whether people like it or not), but the rates are trash. Honestly feels like they are baiting you with first few pulls getting decent rewards, then your next 15 x10 rolls you get nothing. Get rates like ML Adventure to be successful, they actually care about their players not just their wallets =\ EDIT: tried to continue playing and i just cant do it. Saved up a ton of gems to try pulling again to have same thing happen. The rates are the worst ive seen in a gatcha game >.< nexon lives up to its reputation unfortunately. Dropped from 2 to 1 star since u cant progress in game when u get no players to use. Raising back to 2 star due to active response team. As for a suggestion, put in a better system that increases rate of higher character the more you fail to pull the highest tier characters, then resets back after you gain one. Since gatcha is all about random chance, some people may still get many bad rolls in a row, but when a 10x roll costs a decent amount of money (for those who pay for cash shop items/gems), pulling 150 to get no higher tier characters is a severe let down as well as feeling like you just burned all your money you have nothing to show for it. ALL IN ALL, a better safety system for better chances of not getting screwed would be huge. That is the 1 fix that would bring a player like myself back to game. Thank you for the reply!

Fantastic Game, Currently Unplayable
Let me begin by saying that Blue Archive is in my top 3 mobile games of all time and I thoroughly enjoy this game so this review comes from a place of love. Just like others in these reviews and on Reddit, since the January update, this game has become virtually unplayable. For specs., I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max and prior to this update, my game rarely crashed. I would say MAYBE once during an hour of playtime. After the January update, the game consistently crashes over short periods of time. Just yesterday, over the course of a 30 minute period, the game crashed 5 time. This is absolutely unacceptable. I have plenty of free space on my phone, I have zero apps running in the background and I have tried every single fix the developers and other players have posted in the reviews and on Reddit etc. At this point, I could not recommend this game to anyone until the crashing is fixed. Maybe it really is that my phone is incapable of running the game, but as a developer, I would be very concerned if a phone that was released 3 years ago was unable to consistently run my game for more than 10 minutes at a time. As I said previously, I love this game and I hate that I cannot give Blue Archive a 5 star review. Hopefully a fix is released soon. Thank you.

The game is fun but the gacha setup is outdated and exploitive
Some have made reviews talking about it being gacha and people shouldn’t complain about rates. They have completely missed the whole picture. The rates are pretty bad, which isn’t an issue on its own, but when you combine it with a terrible pity system and short cycle rotation it becomes completely a problem. When banners are often a week and the pity resets every banner, the rates become a major factor. You can in a sense do 100 pulls get nothing and it resets for the next banner. That is a system that has long become outdated with games utilizing a better pity system that doesn’t reset. The game also gives low premium currency rewards for regular play. Completing enough dailies gives 20 when you need 120 for a single pull is kind of a joke. They do though give much more for events, etc. For the game itself, it is fun and dailies can be quick and easy to complete. There is a nice set up for maxing characters Atleast once you get one. There are lots of characters in the game. The game also has some strategy to it while also being simple enough to not become overwhelming. All in all I’d say the game is enjoyable but the gacha/pity system setup is outdated and more predatory than others nowadays.

Okay game
Giving it three stars because the art is very gorgeous and a lot of it is animated, and a lot of voice acting. The little system where some characters actually say the name you put is also neat, first game I’ve played that had that. Character designs are also nice but as far as the story and characters personality goes… just another average gacha game pushing for you to like the latest tsundere girl and roll for her. I’ve rolled like only twice so I can’t say anything about the rates and why everyone is complaining about them, but what I can say is that the art is really the only thing this game has. I tried to give it a chance and I found myself forgetting I even have this downloaded. Really pretty art and amazing character designs, but a boring story and stale, typical personalities. I guess if you just wanna look at pretty characters then this is your game, because the story and gameplay is definitely not worth it. Maybe I’m just too picky, but genshin and arknights have far better stories. In fact, I’d recommend arknights over this to anyone any day (and if you’re like me and don’t like games that limit to one gender, arknights will definitely be a better fit. It’s this game but better and not afraid to have some men thrown in)

Absolutely great game; however unplayable
I’ve really gotten into Blue Archive much more than I’d like to admit, but I haven’t been able to play for the past few months due to the fact that the game has a crashing addiction. You wanna play a level? Crash. You wanna see your account? Crash. You wanna check your inbox? Crash. You wanna change who you see in the menu? Crash. I shouldn’t have to pray that the game doesn’t crash every time I press a button. What makes this even more infuriating is that the game takes a good ten minutes to boot up every time you want to play. If there is any way you could reduce the boot-up time, please do so. What I’m getting at is that this game has a buttload of potential but it’ll all fall flat if it’s so buggy it’s unplayable. I really hope this gets fixed at some point so I can go back to enjoying this wonderful game.

A wonderful experience! Still, not everything is perfect.
Blue Archive’s story is so engaging; one of the best a free game can offer! However there are 3 main points that I would like to address. First of all, the app is prone to crashing and instability on occasion. I don’t know if it’s just me or if the game itself is faulty in that regard. Secondly, the way players level up gets kinda boring at 30+. Perhaps remaking the EXP system to account for how many stars the player gets per stage would speed things up. Thirdly, the overall size of the app itself is enormous and this one I actually have a real solution for. Since the game already requires an internet connection to play, I think the best course of action would be to switch to a cloud based system—which would allow the team to update the game as many times as they wish without having to take the player’s resources away. The game is still just exploring the depths of its complexity and this would free it, in my humble opinion. Thanks for taking time to read this review all the way through.

Wake up and smell the gacha.
My favorite gacha game of all time. The story has some of the most entertaining and funny storytelling in any video game in recent memory and is easily the best part. Some of the characters are insanely funny whiles others are not so interesting. The gameplay is actually better than many other gacha games as it actually has some layers of strategy, timing and positioning that leads to a different experience per level. The grinding is surprisingly generous as the xp materials given is insane compared to most other gacha games. Speaking of generous, people are lying about the how awful the gacha is. Actually, it’s the most generous gacha system I’ve seen because of the shocking amount of free pulls in events, the cheapest premium currency for a gacha, and a variety of options to get the best characters the quickest. Also the soundtrack is mind blowing and has no right to be this great. The only problem is that the story starts off kind of boring. If I were to recommend normal people to try a gacha game, this might be the one.

Satisfying progression
I’ve found that the gameplay to be satisfying, the combat isn’t the same turn based strategy game that every gacha game and it's mother seems to be using. Plus, the energy recharge is forgiving, so getting the resources you need isn’t hard at all. Yes, the gacha is to the point where you probably can’t guarantee the limited banner characters, but I’ve never found that to be a problem. There’s a large amount of standard three stars that I get relatively frequently with ten pulls (maybe I’m just lucky but idk). Most of them are some of the best too, and power creep doesn’t seem to be an issue so far. Plus, if you enjoy playing the gameplay, it’s easy enough to get gems as basically everything gives it to you on top of all of the bonuses you get from updates (usually a full ten pull). So if you’re looking to whale for a game, you should probably stay away from this game because this game isn’t designed for that. This games is more of a nice game to grind with gacha in it.

Pretty dang good
I’m gonna keep it simple to avoid a wall of text for anyone looking for quick details. The lowish score came mostly from a review bomb that happened when they censored an image in a cutscene with a nearly naked girl. With that out of the way the game’s story has a fairly simple premise, helping out and teaching the students of Kivitos through life. The main storylines as well as the limited events actually have some of the best writing I’ve seen in a gatcha game in a long time. The game has an astounding cast lineup with a wide variety with unique characters that lean into some common character tropes. You will most certainly find one you resonate with. The battle takes place by choosing your squad and when they use their special abilities, you can upgrade them over time with materials to make them stronger. Limited events and raids are constantly being rolled out, so there’s always something new to enjoy or grind out if you want. Daily upkeep on the app is SUPER easy, since once you get through a level with 3*’s you can use energy to automatically complete it. Progression is extremely relaxed, so you can take your time. Gatcha rates aren’t bad for a gatcha game. I’ve gone to hard pity for a few units, but I’ve had enough currency to get every single character that I’ve wanted without skipping, the game is pretty darn generous. If you’re on the fence, just try out the game for an hour or so and see if it’s your style!

Great Side-Game
I’ve had my eye on this game since it was announced for JP. It’s global launch was the same day as another really good gatcha game, so I had a lot of stuff fighting for my attention. So far, from a casual-f2p perspective, I’m having a ton of fun. The isometric, 3-D environments and chibis are gorgeous, and the UI is quick and clean. The gameplay feels like a fresh take on the standard element-based, rock-paper-scissors kind of team-building. And the auto-combat is just dumb enough to start failing to 3-star levels by chapter 2 or 3, which is great. I hate games that can play themselves entirely. Also I really love a sweep system that only costs the stamina to clear the stage and a 3-star requisite. Perfect for what is currently a casual side game. I don’t care about rates, because I prefer to approach gacha games from “playing the hand you’re dealt” and trying to overcome the obstacles the game puts in front of you. But then again, I haven’t even touched pvp, because I’m not really into pvp.

Rate up is incorrect… dont get baited.
So I been saving for this banner… skipped soo many banners just for this one because I missed other collab banners and Toaru is one of my favorite series. Both characters on the bannets are on the rate up.. meaning you have a higher chance of getting the featured characters. That was a lie. I pulled a total of 357 pulls and every 3 star characters I pulled (8 3 stars) were not the rate up character. And now I got 4 hrs to pull the last one I need. Probably spent over 200 on this alone to get dupe 3 stars and nothing to show for it. I spend in other gachas but never has it felt this bad to ever pull a unit in this game. Just the simple fact that you can’t carry over pity to another banner is soo crazy to me and im surprised this game made it this far. Well im not surprised….. this is a amazing franchise/ip and its just real frustrating that rates are as bad as it is with no rerun in the horizon. Its just time for me to stop the cope and call it quits. Anyone looking into playing this game just know. It isn’t free to play friendly and you will most likely miss out on units you wanna pull for. Don’t get baited.. the rate up banners are lies. You will have to pity

changed this
Honestly game play wise it’s funny characters look great but Progression in this game is terrible First off it has that your level matches your character thing which that is not good it’s slow as progression because it makes it difficult for you to level up and in turn makes your characters hard to level up daily resources, almost impossible to get because you’re only limited to a certain number of Times you can use the level missions a day and the worst thing in this game is the drop numbers like drop numbers are absolutely terrible. I’ve been playing this game for a while and barely have been able to get any other character that I actually wanted this game. You will have to probably spent a fortune just to get one character. now, if they were to fix these, this game would be great but so far I don’t think they’re planning on doing that

Censorships and Moving Forward
Dear NEXON, I am currently enjoying the game so far, it brings me tons of fun and enjoyable moments with the variety of students available at hand. But right now I am in shock because of two main things, one is that you failed to keep up your promise as stated in the QnA podcast, you said to not change ANYTHING from the base game into the global version, yet you did. I am dissapointed and concerned for the upcoming future. Second is how you named the Game Development Club student, ‘Aris’, which is to say doesn’t sound fitting at all. For solutions and suggestions, first I want you to change the age restriction to 16+ for this game so you can have a safe game with no laws or ‘external party’ going all out against your game. Second, please change her name to at least Arisu or Alice, I don’t want to call my adorable little fridge ‘Aris’ because it sounds like a boy’s name instead of a girl’s. Listen to us, your community, so that we can have a fun game and everyone will be happy. Thank you for your time in reading my review (or should I say complaints and suggestions haha) and have a nice day.

Will be deleting this game after review
I think this game is to hype up yes I love the cute Waifu’s and the gameplay also lots of ways to get jewels. However the Gacha system is garbage how is this game Gacha system worse than Genshin? I feel like it’s longer to get a 3 star or higher takes long compared to Genshin. My account on this game only has 2 of 3 stars characters and they are only support like bro. One character I paid for her the other character is my first 3 star overall. I had the game installed probably a year and I’m just now getting my 3 star. This game is not free to play friendly on Gacha pulls, expect to spend money to get who you want. Honestly I don’t wanna put money into a love service game that might end and not gonna give people their money back if they close down. Specially when the Gacha is bad. I stick with Senran Kagura New Link a Japanese only Waifu game, but the pull system is better in that game also collaboration characters like To Love Ru and High School DxD exist. Think if they fix the Gacha system and get people interested in like for example doing a collaboration will bring more players back. Now it ain’t it bro

Honestly surprised at the depth and interesting content
Going into this I didn’t have high expectations, but after playing it I was genuinely surprised by how much I enjoyed it. The story is also pretty funny and intriguing for what it is, one of the main reasons I’m so invested is to find out more about this weird world they live in. Also the characters are genuinely well written, even if at first they seem like they play to archetypes they fulfill those archetypes well and with good twists to keep them interesting. The combat at first seems simple, but that was only at first when AOE’s could absolutely blast you through any combat scenario. My only problem with the combat I guess is that it takes a while before the game gets challenging, which means you’re kinda stuck waiting to start doing the difficult fights and using everything to your advantage. One thing I definitely have to praise is the auto runs for quests you’ve done already; it turns events into something I can actually enjoy instead of just a slog of manually grinding the materials I need. All in all, very surprised by how much there is here: I definitely recommend taking the “don’t regret the units that do not come home , appreciate the ones that do” mindset, because this game manages to surprise you in the weirdest ways sometimes.

Recruitment rate is a joke. PvP is broken
It does’t matter how much pyroxene I spend, I can never get the students I want unless I spend so much on the game it pities me. I’m done with recruiting, the devs only cares about money so they never fix their abysmal recruit rate. PvP is a mess. Shun just activates her E.X. and stutters until she dies. Tsubaki is no longer a viable tank. Hoshino is squishier than a stress ball. Haruna always misses. Karin’s skill is useless because she never lands her shots. Anyone with new students can easily climb the PvP ladder. In short, it’s pay to win, just like any other crappy gacha game on the market. This goes back to the abysmal recruitment rate. How am I supposed to play PvP and complete challenges, fight new bosses when the game does not let me get new students unless I spend a couple hundred dollars on it? I play Azur Lane and some other gachas too, and I’m perfectly fine with spending money on them. I wonder why. I’ve been playing the game for a year, and it has become a chore to me at this point. Just daily tasks, spend all of my AP, and I’m done for the day, then off to play other games.

A wonderful game bogged down by crashing problems
Blue Archive is a truly wonderful game with an amazing story and fun characters however it seems with every update the stability of the game drops quite noticeably. With the New Year event re run it has gotten to the point that whenever I attempt to load a combat level the game will always crash after the unit selection screen. This includes the current event missions (Only been able to get through the first story mission), Total Assault, Campaign Missions, and Main Story missions that includes combat. So far I haven’t tested bounty’s or commission’s but I wouldn’t be surprised if they also resulted in a crash. Other parts of the game that I have noticed a decline in stability is the Cafe (May crash when loading it or shortly after exiting it) and long story segments (Will crash at random parts of the story or more commonly right when the To be continued bit pops up ending that bit of the story). From others that I’ve talked to and read from this seems to be a problem with the IOS version of the game. I’ve tried everything that the developer responses here have said and nothing has worked for me sadly. I hope that the dev team sees this along with other reports and can fix this game breaking issue that forces the game to become unplayable. I guess Plana really is too much for the chest to handle… Best wishes to the dev team -A concerned Sensei

Excellent game; adorable characters!
Don’t fall for the mental trap of “oh no, 200 pulls for pity, how awful!” The gacha rates are quite generous, you’ll get ~50 pulls per month, and you don’t need every character. Just play, pull for who you like, and enjoy their stories, designs, and adorable animations and voice lines. Moving past that… the character designs in this game are genuinely some of the best in the entire industry. They don’t need to be over-the-top fantastical; they seem like mundane, normal designs at first, but the close you look and get to know them, you see the brilliance in their designs and just how much they ooze personality. Almost every last one is very memorable and lovable, and their animations are unique and creative. If you admire character design and adorable interactions, just have an open mind and play. You won’t regret it.

Very good but slight issues
The story is mostly good but can get boring sometimes but I don’t really mind it. I love the characters and their unique designs but my only gripe is that faces rates are confusing as I would save up for weeks to draw for a new character but then I’ll end up spending all my stuff just to get characters I already have. Plus even pulling on banners that increase chances of getting a specific character I would constantly get other characters I have. For example when Marina the red winter character was put in a banner like a month ago I did up to 14 ten draws and I got 3 characters 2 being says and one shiroko which baffled me because not one time did I get marina. I would also have issues where after playing the game for about 30 minutes it would randomly crash out of nowhere.

Theme is Fun
I found the "girls with guns and special moves" thing this game has going pretty entertaining; and is probably the only thing that got me hooked with it. Not really a fan of a gacha game that goes a harem route, but I understand that it has an appeal to many others. Music is great. The art varies, some are good some not so. The progression system as a whole is probably designed to be confusing. Closest comparison would be Princess Connect; which personally is the worst one out there among gacha progression systems; but it is what it is. (Why I'm still playing it? Girls with guns) PvP is a waste of time in the sense that you really can't control your team. You just watch. You're only able to skip at a certain time when both the tanks have survived at the time limit. Being unable to control the units makes almost 3/4 of the roster useless. And you just helplessly watch your unit target one with her skill when she could have targeted three if the ai would just aim a grid higher. It's not a fun time even if you're winning. I actually would just prefer it to say "calculating" then declare the winner after I choose my opponent given this is the case anyways. At least it saves time which is really really wasted when I play this mode. Overall, harem girls with guns with special moves in a confusing progression system and a horrible PvP experience. It is... Not that bad, but can't say it's good.

Not worth it
First off this is an amazing gacha with generous rates and fun characters and story. I can’t say anything bad it’s perfect except for one fatal flaw. It crashes constantly. I can only play max 3 min before it crashes and sends me back to the long intro that takes up another 3 min to get back into the game. If I’m lucky I can get back in for another couple min of playtime before another crash. Recently though I’ve been getting a crash loop where as soon as I get back into the game it instantly crashes. I am unable to finish the recent event rerun because the game puts me into a crash loop where I gave up after the 10 time being unable to get back into the game. This crashing problem has been going on for months with no acknowledgement in game and it’s only been getting worse. I really want to play this game but they refuse to fix this problem that makes the game literally unplayable. Go play any other gacha because they clearly have no desire to fix this problem that prevents many ios players from playing their game.

I love this game
Story, characters, and especially the music have grown onto me. Something that does bug me though is the name changing in the translations, I feel like some of it is completely unnecessary (ex: Handyman 68 -> Problem Solver 68; The Iridescence -> Chroma). Switching important names like Iridescence to Chroma doesn't sit right with me as it is obviously not the original name. I believe It's out of global's hands, but the gacha system is a little outdated. Sometimes I get lucky and recently I've been getting my dreams crushed with constant sparks. As for the rest of the game, it's become an extremely special game to me and I want it to keep going and succeeding. This global team has done quite a good job so far, I wish we'd also get social media content like the "Sensei may I have a moment of your time" but that's a topic for another time.

Great game
Really fantastic game! The UI, art style, and music are incredible. Love the character designs and the world. Art direction-wise, they really knocked it out of the park. Gameplay is perfect for quick plays throughout the day. Plenty of neat limited events and different game modes to keep things interesting. Story doesn’t take itself too seriously, which I think some are turned off by, but I think it works well for the game that it is. It’s a gacha game so you should know going in that it has almost all of the shortcomings that are typical of gacha games. Most of the one-star reviews are either mad that a gacha game is….a gacha game, or they’re mad over the more sexual content being censored in the global release. If you’re just looking for a fun, light-hearted gacha game to inject some dopamine into your day, Blue Archive is it.

All progress gone and nothing could be done
I reached out to costumer service about my account being hacked. A hacker used my google bind to login to my account and asked costumer service to relink the account, but they told him that they can’t don’t provide that service. They didn’t even question the proof of that the hacker presented, even though it was clearly fake. For one evidence of ownership, it asks how frequently do they login and somehow customer service didn’t think that the answer: “Always?” with a question mark wasn’t suspicious at all, especially when I login once a day to do my daily grinding. Out of spite, the hacker decided to reset my account, making me lose all progress on my level 63 account. I tried asking customer service if anything could be done to restore the account, but they told me the same thing that nothing could be done to save my account. All of the time and effort that I put into this game is gone. Customer service is useless in this game and they clearly don’t go over the evidence that is presented.

Awesome Story | Awesome Gameplay
I normally do not review anything, but I saw a lot of negative reviews and needed to cancel at least one of them out. I have been enjoying this game for months now and the story was amazing. Really moved me throughout many moments of it. The music is great and all of the characters are lovable. The gacha system is very forgiving as it is really easy to guarantee any character you want as long as you save your Pyroxenes and play actively. The key phrase is play actively. I’m sure many people complaining about the lack of Pyroxenes do not take advantage of all of the sources you can get them throughout the game and outside of it. The developers are very generous with maintenance gifts, codes, and livestream goodies on top of everything already in the game. Just wanted to share my piece, アーク先生

Resolved: Account suspended for no reason
I was actually liking this game, but after exactly 3 days of gameplay i got a notification on the login screen saying that my account was “pending for suspension” without any clarification on the reason that have brought this (which I can’t find), I tried to contact the CS but to no avail. The game was interesting and it caught my attention since the pre-release, but if that’s the way you treat a user, then I’m done with this game and immediately uninstall it. ——————————————— After the suggested direct contact with the CS, the response was actually really fast and it seems that my account got unlocked. I’ve raised my evaluation and I’m looking forward for the future developments of the game.

Wonderful Game, Friendly Devs
Allow me to first state this review is very long overdue. I love BlueArchive to the bottom of my heart, I really do. I've been playing the game on my iPad since Volume 2 of the story was added alongside Momoi and Midori. However, this is a rewritten review I'll mostly be taking from the top. One of the deciding factors when I download an app is if the developer reaches out to certain reviews and does their best to reassure the player; given if that's the case. My new profoundness has been ignited once more with Hibiki and Hasumi in track wear. Now that I fully understand that the developers of BlueArchive are constantly working to create new content alongside fixing many bugs and errors behind the scenes. I've spent so much time on the app, and I always hope for more.

Enjoyable but Crashes Too Frequently
I really enjoy this gacha game. The main storyline is quite enjoyable and actually made me laugh at points. I like how I was able to 3 star missions that recommended higher levels than I was at the time because of strategy and thoughtful usage of skills. The affection stories are a nice break and as a F2P player, I’ve no issues with the amount of rolls I get. However, this game crashes way too much to be enjoyable. I can’t seem to find a common point when it crashes either. It crashes before missions, after missions, entering or exiting any screen/menu. It’s really frustrating because I really do enjoy this game but the fact it crashes so frequently coupled with the decent loading time makes the whole experience that much worse. That’s the only reason I can give this 5 stars.

Do you?
Do you like story? Do you like interactions? Cuteness? Seriousness? And maybe sprinkle some overall goofy things? Do you want to have a genially fun time? Did you say yes to all of them? No? Only some? Well then buddy pal this game is for you! Tired of story being behind level walls? None here. Tired of no soul games? Plenty here. Blue Archive has been faithful ever since release and quite royal ever since release! I started playing about 2 months ago and it was a crazy ride for me, loved the story, relationships, and more BA has to offer. You can play for 5 minutes, or 2 hours and you will still be feeling quite happy. Even though crashes do make BA look bad if you’re mid battle it’ll save so no worry on that front. I haven’t been crashing all that much only like 2 times but that was when I had the game open for more than 30 minutes and yada yada so yeh Honestly just give the game a shot, I came for the story and loved it and that’s why I’m still here. If you don’t like it then there are plenty other Gacha’s to look at but this is just quite a plump apple from the bunch. It’s mostly laid back if you’re into that also.

iPhone 13 mini on up-to-date iOS and the game crashes very frequently. This is made all the worse by the game’s slow launch speed. I haven’t timed it, but this game’s launch time seems dreadfully slow compared to other gachas. I find the gameplay frustrating. Besides the lack of direct control except abilities, there’s no information for enemy abilities and traits so you find yourself banging your head against the wall trying different team comps and wasting stamina. Gacha rates are whatever. The game is relatively generous with its roll currency. Only a couple of times over more than a year playing did I feel I missed out on a character I wanted. The chibis are ridiculously cute and it’s clear a lot of effort went into the art and animations for the in-combat and cafe stuff. Honestly this was the biggest reason I played for as long as I did. Certainly wasn’t the gameplay. Lots of good music but no in game juke box so you’re better off just listening to it online. The writing and VN stuff was okay. Lots of anime tropes. The students blushing at every little thing sensei says gets old pretty quick. Thankfully it isn’t too drawn out. At least the writers don’t enjoy sniffing their own farts quite like the arknights ones do. There was some fun to be had early on but I’m very happy to be deleting the app.

Games fun, but…
First of all, just wanna say how beautiful and fun the game is. There’s a lot of content in different parts of the game, and it’ll be a grind to keep getting stronger and stronger. Any base 1 or 2 star units can be as strong or stronger than a base 3 star if you can get the mystics, which isn’t too hard, but it’ll take a while. My biggest problem with the game though is the low rates to get new characters. The only times I managed to get 3 star units were my first 2 10 pulls. 1st 10 pull, I will say is super helpful. But everything after that is a journey. Ever since my 2nd 10 pull, I haven’t been able to pull a new 3 base star unit. Also, the pity summon in this game is 200 pulls, which is pretty tough for f2p or even light spenders. I would either say increase the chance for getting new 3 stars, or decrease the pity summon requirements.

Gacha System
Pull rates not good. Asking for money intensely. Besides that as a veteran player for Blue Archive, story’s fun and amazing, students/characters are amazing as well. Gameplay is easy for the players. There are harder difficulty for raid boss (in which we call it Total Assault for this game) for players that are advance with their level and students’ skills/equipment builds. With that, players can keep up on their own pace while learning the mechanics for this game. Interactions with side stories when increasing relationship levels with the female students is a nice breeze of enjoyment. Soundtrack for this game is amazingly the bomb! Definitely recommend others to play, but pull rates isn’t great though.

Pretty fun chibi game
Don’t listen to the negative reviews. Most of them are complaining about their country being block, they have bad luck and didn’t get rolls they want, or Nexon in general. Despite being a bad reputation this game was developed by Nexon, not Yostar. Yostar just publishes the game for JP but Nexon took it for global. To be clear, Nexon Korea is handling this game, not global since global has the bad rep. So I guess they are doing damage control now. Gameplay wise it’s pretty fun, character designs are great, and story is interesting. Nexon also been pretty generous with compensation/rewards. I haven’t spent much on this game so far and saved up quite a bit for future banners. Overall, I really like it.

Rates are kinda bad, it’s a whale’s game.
I like the game, it’s pretty good. The gameplay is fun, the girls all have personality and the amount of things you can do is up there to keep you entertained. You can make a 1 or 2 star base as good as any 3 star, and that’s a big plus and Nexon gets some points for that. Where the game loses some points is the atrocious rates. 200 for pity is a bit much, and even a light spender won’t get pity. Paying $100+ per banner shouldn’t be the expectation, I don’t mind tossing some money here and there but I will not drop hundreds. Games like this are only really worth for the hardcore whales to be actually invested into for the long term. Overall, it’s a good game to just pass the time in. Make sure your first pull is good because you won’t get anymore 3* for awhile.

Peak Storytelling
Dubious reputation of the fanbase as a whole aside. This is far and away one of my favorite games in terms of storytelling and character writing. Art direction has a strong visual identity that stands out from then crowds of Gacha games that all have the same general art direction. Gameplay is merely solid, but the good far outweighs the simply okay aspects. It may sound hyperbolic but I’ve found it to be some of the most emotionally effective storytelling of any piece of media I’ve engaged with in the last 5 years. Usually it’s easy for me to ignore a ton of characters in gacha games but they’re all so well written that I end up liking all of them. On principal I generally don’t recommend Gacha games to others because of the usual manipulative business tactics…and I still generally don’t unless it to someone with self control. But I strongly recommend this game to anyone. My one criticism is probably the lack of a victory animations for back support units. Feels like a waste. What did they do to deserve that?

THIS Is One of the Most Popular Gachas!? Overrated Garbage.
So, SO much wasted potential here. Before even playing the game, load times are horrible. Takes so long just to load into the game. “Gameplay” if you can even call it that, is a rubish autobattler. Click buttons at certain times, win. Stages are the same, there is nothing different. Also, this game has most hated mobile game mechanics. Terrible gacha. Only certain characters are viable. And an energy system. A freaking energy system. I thought we were done with that. If it was done good, where energy was basically an after thought, then it would have been fine. But nope, they had to mess that up to. This just makes it feel like a cheap chinese mobile game to milk as much money as it can out of you. Oh wait, it does. As another mentioned, even if the gameplay was bad, it could have been a cool slice of life story. But NOOO the developers just have to enjoy underaged school girls. And they aren’t even trying to hide it. These sick people should be investigated seriously. The only reason this is still popular is because of it’s sick toxic community. Save yourself a download and don’t get this rubish. Horrible gameplay. Horrible devs. Horrible community. Just EOS already.

ITS SO FUN, to watch a loading creen for 30 minutes (update
I got the game while I was in Japan, and after waiting for all the data to download, it tells me in this country not available, then when I go back to my hometown in Texas, I redownload it, and I’m stuck watching the loading screen with small texts saying, “resetting data” if the developer knows how to fix this, please tell me, this looks like an awesome game and would love to actually play it *update* after the game loaded, no more issues, and matter of fact, the game ran super smooth, a pretty good storyline and such, thanks to the devs who reached out

Pretty good, some issues.
This game is honestly pretty good. It has a good story that’s enjoyable along with pretty artwork, good characters, and a nice gameplay and things to do. However, I have 2 issues I’d like to express that the readers and the developers should notice. First of all, the gameplay. The gameplay is your average fighting game, clicking on skills. However most of it is pretty automatic and you can’t really have any fun. All you do is click on the skills, you don’t click where the characters move or when they shoot. You don’t manually dodge or anything. I wish this game would have more things the players could do theirselves instead of most of the experience being automatic. Second, drop rates. The drop rates are absolutely terrible and it’s hard to get a 3* without using up all your pyroxenes. Too much of a money grab. The drop rates are worse than Genshin Impact. For one character you have to blow all your gems. Otherwise, pretty decent game. I somewhat recommend downloading.

This is a good game
I’ve been playing for awhile now and I gotta say that I love this game. Anyone who complains about the gacha rates must not play many gachas or just have terrible luck. Do you get every character you want? No. Cause it’s a gacha. Save indefinitely until you have enough for pity if you truly want someone. I have played a lot of gachas and I personally feel like I’ve been luckier with this game then others. This is one of those mobile games that I’ll take breaks from but I always end up coming back to. Lots of story, lots of fun events and the company actually cares about their game and their consumers.

Already great, has even more potential
After some initial censorship issues that got resolved in a meaningful way, the game has gone on to release great content in the form of both visual novel- style storytelling and interesting tactical combat encounters. It also has a steadily growing ecosystem around these elements, such as the customizable cafe space and the unlockable school campuses. While the story is the star of the show for me among the current game offerings, the game has many areas it can continue expanding existing gameplay elements and could even seamlessly add new ones. I look forward to how grand in scale the devs can really make this game.

Good game with the worst rates
As someone who has lost count of how many gatcha games I’ve played, this is the first I have been compelled to review because of how badly it’s rates have ruined what was otherwise an enjoyable experience. It honestly puts FGO to shame if you ignore the pity system. The story is admittedly mediocre but was enough to make me like the characters, the gameplay was actually pretty entertaining and a new one for me. Both these points are just furthering the cash grab though, especially apparent with the lack of mystic units in lower rarities. I’m sure people will also claim I’m just unlucky and salty, but I don’t agree that’s the sole factor. It isn’t always the case but Nexon has earned its bad reputation across numerous games for me since Dragons Nest, and this is another for the list.

Disappointed
Before playing Blue Archive I heard a lot about Nexon's history, but the launch of the game was actually satisfying so I thought "Maybe they became better." But now Nexon goes and break a promise they made to the players about no censorship, that they knew people were worried about. Now to be fair, I can unerstand why the CG was censored, but if Nexon knew they had to censor some material in game they should have just said so in the interview. Being honest is way better than being lied to. Also, in the apology, Nexon said they had to respond to external requests to censor the content and will continue to do in the future. Who are these external sources? Are they local laws, sponsors, app/play store rules? I will continue playing Blue Archive because I think it is a fun and relaxing game but this is just disappointing.

Decent
Been lucky with my gacha pulls including that new event where I got the bomb bomb swimsuit girl and the one with the pink hair as well from the summer pulls. However. The one thing that annoys me the most is the crashes. And when I mean crashes, I mean the game will literally crash every 2-5 minutes of playing. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app, rebooted my iPad (keep in mind this is also a 8th generation so it's relatively still new), updated my IOS version, lowered the graphics and still, nothing. Constant crashing everytime I start up the game to the point where it's inconsistently playable. For god sakes Nexon, if you really want my money invested into this game, you gotta at least make it bearable for me to play it.

Could be better.
I started the game and I really enjoyed the art of the characters and the gameplay. I thought the models looked very nice and the animations had a lot of life and were very cute, but there’s a big issue I have with this game. I don’t know if it was just my device, but I was playing on a pretty good IPad with available space and the game continued to crash. I eventually decided it was to much when he went to do a ten pull and the game crashed. Came back and my gems had been taken, but I didn’t get any characters. I also don’t enjoy the over sexualization of the characters in the game. It’s jarring to see normal high school girls beside girls wearing bikini tops and lingerie. For some it’s not a issue, but heads up for people uncomfortable with that type of thing.

Fun game, but plays like a beta
Playing this game has been one of the most fun experiences with a mobile game I’ve had in a long time but I can’t give this 5 stars with how terrible the pvp plays. PvP in this game plays like a 3 year old toddler who just taps the screen randomly, causing me to lose to under leveled opponents because the AI just refuses to use my character skills. Also the gatcha rates are some of the worst I’ve experienced, summoning 180 pulls without a single 3* character. Getting almost nothing in return because the cost of getting a character to 4* is disgusting. Probably worst of all, I can’t even log into the game without having to turn off my VPN which is extremely frustrating/concerning.

Sexual references directed towards minors
Gameplay is fun and amazing… until you play the relationship events. If you’re not a fan of adults being attracted to minors in that way and not in real life, this game isn’t for you. You play as an adult man who is called “sensei” who is not only perverted, but also makes multiple upon multiple sexual references directly towards his students who 90% of them are minors. The sexual references are also made to characters who are under the Japanese age of sexual consent, which is where blue archive takes place. In Japan. It really bothers me and thousands of other people that these sexual references are made towards minors. I really hope these references do change. Please decrease the amount of sexual references made to minor characters, in the future.

Newest update makes it unplayable
I really really enjoy this game for the story and the simple yet enticing battle system. I think the girls are fun and interesting to get to know, and very much enjoy the amount of side story the devs put into the game. Normally I’d go ahead and give the game 4 or 5 stars just for the fun factor alone. That being said with the most recent update kinda ruined that experience for me. On my iPhone SE (2020), there is a known bug regarding notifications crashing the game. After attempting to play the game with the setting turned off already countless times I still encounter crashes when attempting to start a battle, and during battles in progress which makes it extremely difficult to progress at all within the story. With all that being said, I think it’s safe to say that the dev team is currently investigating the wrong issue. While I understand the trials and tribulations of bug fixing (I’m a programmer myself), this is extremely frustrating for your player base. If this issue is fixed, I’d easily edit this review as I have grown quite fond of this game. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk!

Would love to play but game continues to crash
I love blue archive it’s an amazing game and easy to pick up, however I literally cannot play the game. I log in accept rewards setup crafting, do my lessons then attempt to go to my cafe the game crashes, reload get the rewards from the cafe it crashes again. Currently the only thing I’m allowed to do in the game is auto battles, PVP, and some story content along with purchasing in game currency, but actually play the game, it’ll cut off halfway through the level and I have to continuously log back in and see if it’ll work. I just want the game to work on my iPad. Still an amazing game. If you can work on your end and worth your time.
