Good Experience
I’ve had BlueVine for several years for my startup business, and I must deter some of the negative comments. For purely electronic transactions, BlueVine has been more than sufficient to meet my online business’s needs! Though I haven’t tried all of the features such as check deposits, which most people tend to complain about if anything. Overall for purely good API on your cash, and a place to store your money without gouging you with fees, I must admit that BlueVine has been great.

WHITE COLLAR CRIMINALS
When I first opened my BlueVine account (around 9 months ago) everything was working fine. The only problem I had was them putting 12 day holds on less than $1000 checks. Now it's gotten to the point that every time they update the app, my account gets put on hold for "further review". On top of that, they selectively accept checks. Sometimes you go to upload a check and it will deposit, other times you go to upload it and it will say "upload successful" and then turn around and say "the document has failed to upload" and then you have no way to cash the check since you've already wrote "for BlueVine mobile deposit only" on it. When you call about what's happening, all they tell you is that "your account is on hold because they are reviewing your information" and don't give you a reason as to why. They have interrupted my business and my livelihood multiple times now, and I've heard from multiple other people that they will end up NOT REMOVING THE HOLD and stealing your money. DO NOT TRUST THIS BANK. They are LIARS, SCAMMERS, THIEVES, and WHITE COLLAR CRIMINALS. I cannot believe this has happened to me. All of my hard earned money is just gone. No access whatsoever. Please for the sake of god don't put your money into a BlueVine account unless you want to legally get robbed.

An exorbitantly long wait for money
I do have to say that free business banking, let alone with the possibility of interest on your balance (with specific rules), is definitely enticing. As someone who is just starting his business, I was looking to save money by going this Bluevine option. I am in no hurry, so I tried the bank transfer (with a connected bank accounts) and electronic check deposit options with Bluevine and I must say, it has been over 10days now since I “deposited” a check and it still has NOT posted to the Bluevine account. If you need your funds available immediately after depositing, this will NEVER work for you. 10+ days to see the money post to you account is an unacceptable amount of time, especially when I see the money pulled from the other account within a couple days… But if you are looking for free business checking to start and don’t need money immediately, it can be an option. As I get up and running, I will most definitely be looking for a more acceptable banking option. But, for now, it will work it work for the short term. Don’t expect much from Bluevine and you won’t be too disappointed.

The worst I’ve seen
I have had Bluevine for a few months now. I can only write one positive comment. The interest rebate is really good. However their policies and procedures are pure rubbish. Customer service is the worst I have dealt with. They make it impossible to talk to the same person to resolve issues or answer questions. When it comes to answering questions, it is impossible to get the same answer from two different people. One says policy is (insert here) and the other says policy is (insert different here). They put hold on checks, and high is understandable. But this is whether or not you have a sufficient balance to cover the deposited checks. The release date of the hold…😂! What a joke! Sometimes it’s 8 business days. I say sometimes because the 8th business day doesn’t constitute the day the funds will be released. When you call and ask them why the funds aren’t released the answer is “the funds will be released some time today before the close of the business day.” 😂😂 Simply put, these guys are thieves. Stay away from them. If you’re not diligent in watching your money this is absolutely the worst bank to be dealing with. Document everything and be prepared to be lied to. Constantly.

Only good if you don’t need quick access
Ok, I’ll keep this quick. I wanted to love this but have to cancel my account after only a couple days. The reason is because ACH transfer have a 5 day hold. What this means is when I transfer money into the account, it is not available for 5 business days, which is absolutely insane for a small business that needs access to their funds. The money has already left my other account and cleared but BlueVine says they won’t make it available for 5 more days… which is insane. Every single other bank I use has the money available next business day after transfer. I know it’s not instant, but they do receive confirmation that it was successful and that’s when they should post it. I’m already in search for a new business checking. Only use BlueVine if you need a place to park your money and don’t need to ever use it quickly. Even if you send them money, they won’t deposit it for nearly a week (while they earn interest on it). Customer service told me all banks do this. I just laughed considering I have about 9 different accounts and none do this.

Rejects mobile deposit, then you are stuck
I attempted to upload two checks from the same customer three times. The checks were from a large corporation and the bank they were using was JPMorgan Case. The checks were in pristine condition. BlueVine refused the checks. I called customer service and was on hold for ten minutes before I could talk to someone. I reached a customer service agent on a very scratchy line and her voice sounded garbled, I could hardly understand her. I had to hold the phone 30-4o minutes while she waited to speak with someone in “the back office” with her checking in with me every 5-10 minutes. In the end she told me their system couldn’t read the check. Once you have endorsed the check “for mobile deposit at BlueVine only” and BlueVine won’t except it, you are stuck. BlueVine won’t help you any further. You then have to ask your customer to reissue the checks, which means you are making work for the customers that you are supposed to be serving, damaging your business relationships. I am now very skeptical about using BlueVine for business checking.

YOUR MONEY IS NOT SAFE HERE
Banking account last week, and it took forever just to get money transferred into the account. By the time I got into the account, my transactional plans had already changed. I try to withdraw my money, Blue vine canceled both transfers twice. Blue fine demanded I give them a reason for why I was transferring my money, and when I told them that they have no right to know my business strategy and that they could not say any specific term condition that required me to do so, they simply continue to cancel my transfers. Right now, I am in the process of trying to simply cancel my bluevine checking account, but in order to get access to my money I would have to wait 24 days or more just to get a check in the mail. And alternative way of receiving my money would be to transfer, but Bluevine is still blocking my transfers. Your money is not safe with Bluevine, and if your business requires you to have access to money you will be in a world of hurt buy banking with blue vine because they operate like big brother.

Functional App, Trash Website, Horrible Bank
Bluevine is an absolute train wreck for small businesses looking to open their first business account. When I tried to open an account on their website through my desktop, it took me through an endless loop of asking me to log in and create a new account, among other technological messes that is entirely inexcusable for an online-only bank. The first time I tried to access the funds in the account, they put an immediate hold on the account, requiring me to explain the nature of the purchase. Mobile deposits are put on hold for a week for “new accounts,” with a vague promise that, “As you continue to be a Bluevine customer you can expect your funds to be available faster in the future.” Yes, you can expect that, but you may be expecting it indefinitely seeing as they don’t actually have any clear guidelines for when that change occurs. And if you try to talk to customer service, all they are going to do is tell you “There’s nothing we can do about it.” They can’t even tell you when or how your account will START to process checks faster. Bluevine is an inexcusably pathetic bank for businesses and their electronic incompetence is asinine for an online-only bank. I look forward to closing my account with them so I never have to deal with this pitiful bank again.

Only my second week and already issues
I decided to start a business checking acct with Bluevine, because I liked the intuitive nature of being able to have sub-accounts and ways to keep money for taxes separate. Unfortunately I have not been able to move any money between my own account on Bluevine for the past two days. I left an email with them like it says to do and have gotten no response. I called this morning and the agent asked me to try it in chrome instead of the app. I tried with the app on my iPhone and iPad. I also went through chrome and none of it was working. This is a very simple feature to not be working and one of the reasons I opened the account in the first place. There is also only customer service from Mon-Fri which means I’m sure I’ll be waiting at least another two days before anyone responds… if that even happens.

Avoid at all cost
I’ve had my Bluevine account open for over a year. I’ve had no returned items and have never overdrawn my account. I made the terrible mistake of depositing a cashier’s check with this fake bank. Bluevine put an 8 business day hold on the check and then the day the hold is suppose to expire they don’t give you access to the funds until the business day ends. An 8 business day hold (which translates into two full weeks) for a CASHIER’S CHECK is absolutely unreasonable - especially given that I’d held this account for over a year. The second the funds became available I moved them out and closed the account. I truly hope that any small business owner considering banking with Bluevine runs away as fast as they can - this bank will make your life more difficult and make running your business impossible. Zero stars all around.

Absolute trash
I’ve had this account for a few years. Every month or so it tries to forget my Charles Schwab checking account so I can’t transfer money out, it always takes 3 to 4 days to transfer money even though anywhere else it takes one day, the customer service is typically poor, or difficult to get a hold of. I completely regret using this bank and the only reason I haven’t changed is because it takes a whole bunch of paperwork for me, but I’m still highly considering changing due to the fact that the banking transfers take four days, the customer service is awful, the app never works, it’s literally the worst bank, or at least one of the worst banks. In fact, just writing this review is really strongly Encouraging me to change now.

Do not use blue vine
Let’s just point out the facts. A business check takes one week to deposit. I mobile deposit a check Monday, the funds will post the following Monday. How is any business going to operate on a one week check delay? If I schedule a payment, it often gets declined by blue vine for no reason. I have to do it twice, sometimes facing penalties by the recipient. Even the fee applied same day money wire takes three days. They make money from holding you money longer than needed and short term re investing it. I’d imagine they make millions just by holding it for an extra day. Don’t use this if you ever plan on actually using the money. I only use my Wells Fargo business account now. This is pretty much an online savings account. Ok I am back on here I tried to wire the money out of the bank account and close the account and now they they wont wire the money. There is no customer service phone number to call. I have put in multiple customer service email requests. I thought blue vine would be great, they have great advertising and fake review. I deposited a $10k check just too see if it was legit. It is not. If I turn away at least 1 person then my review is worth it. DO NOT USE BLUEVINE!!!!!!!

Can no longer open app, no help fr support
This bank seemed great for my needs for a few months, but as of a few weeks ago I'm unable to log in to the app. The app only says it needs to be updated and sends me to the app store. The app is no longer supported on my phone, so even though I have an older version, blue vine will not open. The ONLY way to deposit checks with them is through the app on your phone, negating any usefulness to have this account. Their support team takes days to respond to inquiries, and only reiterates my question back to me, asking if that's what I'm asking. They eventually sent me the link to their web page for the frequently asked questions and never would answer what I was asking. Very frustrating, and regretful that I opened this account.

I wish I could give a 0 star
I opened an account with them for my truck and calculate the soon as money started going into the account all type of weird stuff started happening. My card kept locking. Keep having to call to unlock it and then they said they needed more verification. This is Monday morning when they put a complete hold on my account. I’m talking to all the bankers from Monday all the way to Friday which today is August 18, 2023 and for the most part, they don’t have a branch to walk into, and you cannot do anything on Saturdays so if you lose your debit card and somebody stole your identity, you can’t report anything until Monday word of advice people go to Royal Bank preferably a credit union but whatever you do, don’t come to Bluevine

Amazing for small buisness
I have been using Bluevine for a year now for my small lawn care company. I have seen reviews that say it’s taking a long time for deposits to go thru, all I’m going to say is they have something setup wrong because once I do a transfer or mobile deposit it is always in my account the next business day, sometimes even the same day if I do an early morning deposit or transfer. I would recommend Bluevine for any small business!

New Update Broke App
When I first got the app I was very happy wi the everything. Once the new update came out a few weeks ago, I have not had access to the app since. I reached out to the company on an unrelated matter and they informed me this was a known issue and would be fixed soon. Another update came out today and I still cannot access the app. This is really inconvenient and disappointing.

Blocked my account for no reason
One day at the end of the month my transfers started bouncing without warning. Took days to get ahold of someone who could help. After many phone calls, it turns out my email address had a dash in it and that made the banking team feel my business wasn’t legitimate (even though I provided all the official government docs they asked for). So I had to get a new email address to be allowed to keep my bank account. In the meantime I racked up over $100 in fees for bounced auto transfers while the account was locked and I had to go to my new office landlord and explain why my rent transfer failed. Even though I had plenty of money in the account. Ridiculous!

Horrible bank go somewhere else
I opened an account a month ago and for some reason it was put on hold a few days later. I’ve called customer service to see what’s going on and they told me the review should only take max 2 business days. It’s been over 3 weeks that my account has been on hold and I cannot access my money, I’ve called them multiple times with no progress. This is uncalled for that my money should be on hold for over 3 weeks. I’ve told them to close down the account and send my money back to me. Still nothing, still on hold. Don’t open an account with this bank. If I could give this bank 0 stars I would.

Mobile Check Deposit Issues
I manage a small nonprofit and we have been waiting for months for a check to run our summer programs. I attempted to upload the check via Bluevine’s mobile app. After trying and failing over 15 times with no instruction or feedback on why the deposit was failing, I finally spoke to a human. I was then told that I just had to get a new check cut….but no one could tell me why the first check was not working or accepted. There is no backup system in place in case the ONLY method of uploading a check is faulty. I asked if I could email images of the check or try a different way and was met with indifference.

Good. Not great.
It works, and has basically no fees. Good for a startup. However depositing can be a pain. If you need to add cash relatively quickly, you’ll need to go somewhere that charges a fee for cash deposits. I go to my local grocery store. You also can’t do instant deposits via apps like CashApp/Venmo. I can do this with the Found card, however. Still, it’s not completely horrible. Just keep this stuff in mind.

App is meh
Bank account is great, but the app is terrible. There is constantly a login issue. I always have to try logging in several times before it finally works. It constantly says “sorry our services are unavailable at the moment.” Then by the third or fourth try it will finally log in. Just today the login page hangs and never actually logs in. Bummer that this app is so poorly made. EDIT: None of the stuff mentioned by their response works. The app is broken. I’m not going to waste 2 hours of my time on the phone with someone who can’t help me. Fix your app.

Unable to access me account
I have not been able to access my account since I got it. Have gave them many calls and they have gave me every excuse why they cannot help me get into my account first it was because they said my account number was wrong. I gave it back to them and they were just typing it in wrong now. It’s because my phone number changed and if it’s not one thing, it’s another I don’t recommend this bank at all. I have not been successful with getting my money out of the account. I also don’t even have a debit card and I had the account since August 2023. They refuse to help me get into my account.

Terrible Security…Poor Customer Service..
Steer clear of this bank! Their security might as well be nonexistent they some how authorized thousands of dollars over multiple transactions to a company in Bangladesh. No call. No text nothing. I notice and call the support line only to be told there’s nothing we can do. You’ll have to wait for them to post then wait 90 days to get the money back IF we approve your dispute. This is completely unsatisfactory. No security. No fix for the problem. Just leave the customer to deal with the issue they should have prevented…I’ll be filing complaints immediately with the appropriate federal customer protection agencies.

Not Appropriate for My Needs
I thought I’d give Bluevine a shot after closing my accounts at First Republic. The short version is that it was a huge waste of time. As others have noted, delays in moving money in and out are extreme. Maybe this is just a byproduct of an online only financial product? There also seem to be a lot of limitations regarding ACH in and out. Bluevine only uses Plaid to verify external accounts, so if it doesn’t work, that’s it. And there is no real tech support to speak of. Standard call-center chat stuff. I was told to “reset my cookies and browser settings.” Uh-huh. Account canceled, and moved to real bank.

I haven’t tried to deposit a check yet so I cannot comment on deposit wait times, etc. But they were very quick about ordering me a new debit card when mine was stolen. I deactivated the old card right away in the app, so there were no charges to my account. But I appreciated the quick response on their part to order me a new card! Thanks BlueVine!!

STAY AWAY!!!
Be prepared to take time of your day every other day to call and deal with whatever bogus thing they come up with. Made my first deposit and it took 10 business days for the funds to be available. After that, on my first transaction they put my account on hold for 9 business days . That’s 1 business month for what I consider to be a small deposit. The customer service is absolutely horrible, no help whatsoever. Luckily I have a business account at another bank, if you are specifically a new business owner don’t bother. You can lose your business with something like this. Absolutely horrible

Works Great
I have a photography videography business and I don’t need an ATM most of the time. BlueVine app works amazingly to me and my business because phone deposit always works without any trouble. Their debit card works and the app shows what I need to see such as checking balance, each transaction, etc. all is good and thank you BlueVine. It’s been great knowing you!

Horrible Bank!!
If you are a small business and are looking for a bank THIS IS NOT THE ONE!!! App glitches or fraudulent behavior? I can't tell.. I run a very reputable record label in Los Angeles and have not been able to access my funds in over a week! Every time I call for assistance it's a different person talking about the same pre recited trouble shooting options and it doesn't help at all! I am very unsatisfied and disappointed in not only the customer service and their ability to assist, but I know 5 others banks for small businesses that offer more perks and more interest yield on the money you save! Bluevine is TRASH!

Unsatisfactory Service
Don’t expect to be able to use or access your funds in a timely manner. They may continuously delay access to your funds via “holds” and by placing your “account on hold” pending review. Despite submitting all the required documents, they still take a long time to respond. In addition, their customer service team claims that they have no way of reaching out to the review team. No one can assist, so you are stuck waiting in limbo only to get another request for documentation and this further delaying access to your hard earned funds. What kind of bank is this?

Disappointed
Unfortunately, I have experienced numerous issues with this banking institution. Initially, I believed Bluevine would be ideal for my small business, but it has several drawbacks compared to other business bank accounts. Firstly, the absence of a virtual or temporary card has been problematic. Additionally, I was unable to link a debit card to the account, despite spending over three hours on the phone with customer service. They were unable to resolve the issue and could only offer to create a support ticket. This situation is particularly challenging for me as it limits my ability to access funds without incurring fees. I am now left with the payee option, which requires either a $10 ACH fee or a $15 wire fee for same-day access to funds. Overall, the inconveniences are too significant, and I have decided to close my account. * preferred alternative (small businesses): Found Bank, and Novo Bank

Updated App is 100 times better!
So the old BlueVine app was such trash it was unusable. Which surprised me for a mainly online bank that was specialized for businesses. The new app unfortunately has all these horrible reviews because of the old one, but it is every bit as usable as any other mainstream banking app (Ally, USAA, etc). Don’t mind the 3 stars average and go ahead and give it a shot.

Absolute disappointment
While the interest rates offered are rather pleasant; the fact that I’ve been without app access on my iPhone for nearly a week with not much more than canned responses via their email support team, I’m beginning to quickly rethink using any of BlueVine’s services for any of my business undertakings in the future.

Beware!! They keep your money!!
Overall I had been satisfied with Bluevine until a fraudulent charge of over $10,000 to capital one hit my bank account. It’s been over the government allowed 10 days for them to put my money back in the account and they continue to delay. Since it was an electronic charge and obviously fraudulent I don’t know why this would any more than a day or two. I’ll be filing complaint with Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Maybe they are out of money like these other failing banks, this behavior definitely makes me feel as though there is problems

Do NOT bank here
It’s super easy to open an account because it’s a trash bank. I transferred money from my cashapp to make my initial funding (my son has Covid and the flu so I NEEDED MY MONEY) and to my surprise bluevine doesn’t support instant transfers. I have to wait 2-3 BUSINESS DAYS TO RECEIVE MY MONEY!!!! Lesson learned closing this account as soon as I get my money out of it. This was never mentioned and has left me with no money until they put my money in my account! No money with my child having the flu and Covid. I am LIVID. Never again. Horrible first experience. This should be made known upfront that this bank doesn’t do instant transfers!!

Great bank for starters
No b.s. bank. I started with also then they got acquired, this service has been better that azlo, no specific fees (I think they just changed to $1.5 to write a check which isn’t bad ) Never had a problem. Except today the auto capture isn’t working properly I’m sure they’ll fix it soon

If you love to wait, go with BlueVine
I recently opened a BlueVine business checking account for our new LLC. While the account setup was straightforward, our experience with funding was frustrating. Despite funds being withdrawn from our funding bank in just two days, we faced a prolonged 7-business day pending transaction with BlueVine. In comparison, US Bank cleared our funds within one business day, enabling us to proceed with our business plans promptly. The delays in fund processing with BlueVine proved to be a significant drawback for our new venture.

All the features that you need behind a simple interface
All the features I need are available on the platform. The ability to deposit checks and send both checks and ACH transfers whilst connected to QuickBooks is 90% of all I seem to spend the day doing! A refreshingly easy part of the day.

Can no longer login
I haven’t been able to login for about 3 weeks now. I’ve been talking to support and they can’t seem to fix the issue. The error message is general, “temporary downtime/services unavailable” I’m wondering if anyone else is able to log into their account. Additionally, I am unable to login to the web version of the site, even after requesting desktop version. This is an anti pattern and user hostile. I can’t access my bank account in anyway on my phone without deleting this app. That’s what I’m doing as soon as this review is submitted

Stupid security
They keep locking my account because I logged in with a different browser, and they threaten to close my business account if I don't keep my personal account linked via Plaid, but they make me reconnect it every few months, and it takes half a day to figure out their security maze just to "reconnect" an account that I never disconnected and they they don't have any business knowing about anyway. Very frustrating. I just want a bank to hold my businesses money without making me jump through buggy technical hoops on a regular basis. I'm busy!

I’m about 3 seconds away…
I’m about 3 seconds away from closing my business account. I opened this account because I thought it was cool. But I can’t even deposit these checks I have because I’m constantly getting the message that “Unable to connect. No internet connection” I’ve been getting that message since I signed up. I can login fine from the browser but I can’t deposit checks that way. I’ve deleted the app several times. I’ve turned the internet off and on. NOTHING!

Won’t let me login without calling support
Tried to check my balance & it says upgrade your version or contact support? I have the latest version so now I have to make a phone call to login to my account. What? This is ridiculous—Update, all I have to do is delete the app and reinstall it in the glitch fixes it self. Support did reply but I didn’t wait for days for their reply I just fixed it myself- please don’t need to change a phone or email- going on 3 weeks and multiple calls to useless support still NO ACCESS TO SEE TRANSACTIONS

Every time I try to sign into this, I have to try my password repeatedly. Then they tell me I tried three times in my account is frozen for half an hour. So I’ll wait a half an hour and I’ll try again. But it’s the same thing over and over and over!!!! I really want to use this account but my frustration is making it very hard. I never seem to get the help that I need. I just need someone to walk me through how to do this. I’m baffled. Sorry but I can only give a one star right now but that could change.

This bank is horrible, nobody is emailing me back about my account, which they put a hold on, and I am stuck out of town with no money. They do don’t care!!!! I sent over all my documentation and still have been waiting now almost a week for them to remove it. Worst experience I’ve had, they first put a hold on my account then removed it then placed another one on there. Horrible!! I just need the hold removed because I’ve sent all of what this company needed and they aren’t doing anything about it. DO NOT USE THIS BANK!!!!!

Bluevine can’t perform.
In the 2 months I was a bluevine client they could not deposit 3 out of 4 checks from one of my clients stating they could not validate the checks. Bluevine called my client and started asking about their banking information, never heard of a bank doing that before. I’ve had that client for 20+ years and know their checks are good, and their checks deposited just fine to my other bank. Bluevine told me to get my client to reissue the checks every time. No, I’m not hassling a client when bluevine can’t perform, I’m finding another bank.

Unable to Login
I keep getting an error when attempting to log in. I am able to log in via web browser but not App. It’s affecting my ability to deposit checks which in turn will cover other check I need to write; we all get the idea. As a small business owner it is critical I have access to desiring checks. No cool! I have deleted and read talked the app, still same issue.

Not pleased
I have been a customer for about a year. They reneged on their fees , they are constantly making mistakes, the app doesnt allow certain features and they expect you to go back and forth between app and webpage. If you get stuck and have to call plan on being on the phone an hour or more. Not on hold but it takes the representative that long to look into your call. They don’t follow through with call backs. Not pleased at all.

***Avoid, they take your money and hold it!!
I opened my account based on Need wallet reviews and set up links to my other business accounts. I transferred several thousands using bank to bank Plaid connection. When I tried to mobile deposit a check, they rejected it twice. I called to ask why it was rejected, they didn’t know but said my bank transfer was completed. The following day they closed my account, blocked my access, and said they would send any money in 14 business days.

Everything takes too long
I deposited a check from my personal account so I know how long it takes. 5 days later, the check is still pending in bluevine. The money is already taken from my personal bank, in fact was taken the following day after the check was deposited. Basically bluevine already has my money but has not released it. A business cannot function this way. Unless their service improves, I’ll have not choice but to find another bank.

Terrible
I have had this app, bank for my business for about 6 months and I will be switching banks ASAP. The app has mess up on my a few times where I will have to delete and redownload it. But the worst part is the customer service. I have had a couple issues with checks not being processed and the customer service was of no help. Kept blaming everyone and everything else and wouldn’t just help me in anyway shape or form. Do not recommend this bank at all. Go with a local bank or Kabbage.
