Great app, even free

Haven’t paid for this app yet and I’ve edited multiple videos, from 1 min to 15 minutes. Blurring is easy, customizable (strength, shape, etc) and the editing UI is awesome, which is hard for a mobile app. I’m a user experience designer and I give this app 5 stars. Of course the ads are a little annoying but considering how good the free version is, I’m fine with an ad here and there and the best part is that the ads aren’t even the typical app ads that are long and annoying. They’re brief and easily dismissible. Long story short. I don’t review apps unless I’m extremely pleased or extremely disappointed. And I’m not extremely disappointed… Great job team :)

Good and Bad

Good - Blur Video Mac makes it easy to add blur to faces in video - by hand, frame by frame. Bad - The blur does not automatically figure out to stay with a face moving through the video until I dragged the blur over the face in several spots, which can be rather painstaking process, particularly for a long video. Would prefer to put the blur over the face once and the app figure out to have the blur stay with the moving face throughout the video. Could be better - "Save" added the video to the photos app instead of saving to a location in the Finder. Not a bid deal - I will just have to remember to turn off wifi when saving and then immediately move the video to my hard drive and remove from Photos before turning wifi back on so that large videos do not automatically get added to the iCloud. Good - The rest of 4K videos remains unchanged after blur added, unlike some other censor apps that save (downgrade) 4k videos to 1080p.

App works well, easy to use, and in-app purchases are reasonable

The app worked perfectly for my privacy needs and had trustworthy purchase practices so far. Was able to effectively plug a video with a small photo in a locket so I could post a review without worrying about putting my family online and protecting our privacy. I also liked that this app didn’t have a laundry list of weird in-app purchases like the other similar apps, and the two paid options were reasonable. And without the app developer hiding behind a foreign sounding LLC I feel more confident in using the app in terms of privacy and security.

Excellent Function

I needed to record a small video sequence that unfortunately included some personal details. In order to use the video, I needed a blur tool that allowed me to test the function without signing up for a trial or buying the product. This did it. I don’t care about ads being shown to me. If it helps the developer for their work, it’s fine, so long as it doesn’t interrupt my workflow. Great job! I particularly like that I can not only adjust the strength of the blur, but also the shape and length of time it is active.

Decent App

This app is well made. It does not have a lot of functionality, although if your sole intention is to blur video then this is your best bet. It is much easier to blur stationary objects though. If you want to blur something else that moves a lot in the videos, it is very tedious. The app could make that process easier by having a ln automated blue for moving objects that can be tweaked manually to ensure full coverage. Outside of that, there are very few ads, it works as advertised, and is free. It doesn’t get better for a free app.

It’s a very good value

The app does everything that you want to, except save a work in progress. As at least one other person has mentioned, the UI can be tricky. It’s easy to hit the wrong button for extending a blur and having it move the entire blur. On my second day of using this, I found that I was extending blurs more accurately, than dragging accidentally. As a free program, it’s well worth the download effort. It does one thing and it does it very well and there should be more apps out there that provide the basic functionality like this app does that are free.

so intuitive!

I love this so much. At first I made a new blur for movement until I realized you can simply adjust the same shape to move around at different points! It’s intuitive and simple to use and you can stack multiple blurs however you want, like sounds in ableton/garageband or clips and sounds in imovie. the free version is great- the ads happen rarely and you can skip them quickly (look in the top right corner for a little blue loading sign that turns to an arrow when you can skip)

Free was enough!

I made a stupid TikTok video. I know, right? Is there such a thing as a good TikTok video? We’re not here to split hairs. I appreciated this app for allowing me to use tracking to blur out my government ID, but I was sure to tease my picture a bit. You know, in case any ladies need proof that I’m a scrub and never learned to drive. Anyway, thank you blur team! Looking forward to your next app, a feature rich, time-consuming, so dang tedious game of Unpixelating Murder. It’s kind of like a puzzle and that’s because in essence, it is!

Amazing.

I have struggled so many times on my own with video editing apps to try and censor personal info after taking a cool video and realizing too late that it had my info in it. It has always been incredibly frustrating, usually not very effective, and always ugly and cumbersome. With this app it took me five seconds and it looks GREAT. I didn’t have to watch 30 tutorials or learn an entirely new set of tech skills and terms - it’s WYSIWYG and the app just does it. I never leave reviews but this blew me away.

Highly recommend. Super easy and quick.

I had spent 8 hours this week blurring the faces in a 10 minute video I recorded on my phone. I had been mentally preparing to spend 8 hours every week, just to post a 10 minute video in which the people in it could remain anonymous. A friend recommended this app, and it is a game changer. With this app, I am able to pixelate the 5-8 sections of video at the same time in less than 30 minutes. I highly recommend this app.

Great intuitive utility

Very happy with this app. I tried the developer’s background app first, but this is the tool I needed. The save to photos seemed much faster at high quality than some built in apps. Finally, I found the best phone / tablet software on the market for performing blurs without having to join a rando chat or posting app to make it work,!further risking our privacy to possibly sell or ransom our unblurred and blurred versions. Very satisfied worth an annual subscription if needed, thank you.!👍

Simple, Focused, and Great

I downloaded this app to share a screen recording with tech support that otherwise would show sensitive personal information. The Blur-Video app interface was simple and intuitive, allowing me to figure out how to use its features without having to “learn” anything new. I accomplished my editing quickly and easily. Very good at simple blurring tasks, and I’m sure others with more practice can get a lot more out of it. Thank you for a quality app needed in a pinch!

The blur

I love this idea I have a lot of videos on my platform and I don’t like the idea of creeps seeing them on my platform so when I downloaded blur video I didn’t have to delete the video because they got in the camera instead all I have to do is go in blur video and turn the blur or pixelate tool on and download it to my phone and post it blur video is a safe and cheap app that you can download in two seconds and the best part is that it’s totally free! Go check it out!

Powerful tool

It took me a couple of tries to get the hang of the key frames but the slight learning curve is well worth it. Given the app’s support for adjustable blur length and for multiple blurs, it’s hard to imagine ways to significantly improve the process. My only wish is the ability to export a video with its original quality intact. I will primarily use this to prepare clips for use in another editor and I regret the fact that Blur Video exports will be different from other originals.

This app is amazing and does exactly intended

Honestly not much else to say. I was looking for an app that can blur my face on certain videos, all to maintain privacy. Wow! I’m really impressed with what a free app can do! I think what I’m most impressed about is the app’s tracking system on its blur. Once you move the cursor/blur symbol around to where you want it, it does a great job on keeping up with moving objects/ and people in the video. Would definitely recommend!

Just what i needed

First app i downloaded and it works perfectly for what i needed it for. I do a lot of tourism and entertainment videos and reviews. Most time i don't post videos cuz of kids on the shots. I only record from behind crowds and give a in public perspectives. This makes it more easy to blur them and respect their privacy and helps me upload more videos. Will invest on the ad free version down the road.

Functional

This app is functional In my book. Takes a little getting used to but the blur function I needed it for worked. I don’t know what would make it easier to use but once you began to use it you’ll understand the steps needed to take. I’m not sure if there is a video tutorial but that would help. I’m thinking of keeping it paying the yearly price because monthly would be way more money out of my pocket. Hope this helps you. Btw BE GREAT

i love this app !

I was trying to make a video and I didn’t want someone’s face coming out in it so I download this app and a bunch of others but the others weren’t working and they just did it come out the way that I wanted the video to come out, once I tried this one the video was perfect and I got the video how I wanted it and how I wanted it to look. so I really think this app is amazing and really convenient I love it <3!

What’s the catch?

This is an amazing app! Everything you’d want it to be. My favorite part is how you can have the blur follow whoever or whatever you want it to. But I’ve been scorned one too many times with apps like this. What’s the catch? Am I only going to be able to do two or three and then my “free trial” is up and I have to pay $15 a month or something? If not, then a truly perfect app!

Video blur

Just needed to blur an object in a video and this software worked great and was easy to use. I was prompted to allow access to my photos/videos or select one. I opted to select one and played the video to where I needed to add the blur effect and with one tap it placed it on the video and I used the arrows to size it and saved it. Doesn’t get any easier than that

Quick, simple blur

Great app. I use it on all my videos when I need to blur or block something out. I only use the free version so haven’t had a chance to use the pro features. But even w the ads it works great for what I need. Just wish that the blur could get stronger or change colors. However the addition of emojis has really helped.

Best app to blur videos

This app comes in handy whenever you need to blur identifiable information, children, people, anything. And it’s free! It’s ideal for new content developers. The app is easy to use and is run by adds, if you are cautious about your privacy you can preselect the videos the app can have access to. It looks a little rough/rudimentary but for free I’d take it any day.

Awesome app, easy to use, and surprisingly FREE

I was fully expecting to have to pay to save my video or pay to get a watermark off, I was shocked when it was 100% free! I would absolutely pay for this app if there was a paid option to simply remove ads, not because the ads are annoying but because the developer deserves it.

Shockingly powerful

I post videos of development websites for non-owners to look at, but I want the URLs to be blurred. Unfortunately when taking mobile videos Apple has decided to move the domain area up and down as you scroll up and down. You can create key frames and maximize the viewable parts and still block the constantly moving URL. Just an amazing app!!!

So far so great!

Had a video I needed to create for a product review campaign of which a minor is in. Wanted to conceal the child’s identity while keeping as much of the quality to showcase the product as possible. Easy to learn how to do, saved instantly and is perfect! This is the first project I’ve created with this app. As of this moment I definitely recommend! 👏🏾👏👏🏼

Awesome App

Editing videos is super easy. For some reason it wouldn’t allow me to save them unless I freed up space on my phone, weird, because I can take tons more videos with the space I have. I did end up deleting unused and old apps no longer needed and it saved the videos with no issues. As a student teacher, confidentiality is critical and I needed these videos. Except for that, this is a great app.

Great for classroom teachers

I’m a music teacher and love to be able to share what is happening in the classroom while also keep the students anonymous. I can make small blurs for single students or large blurs for the full group. Very glad to be able to share the student learning without jeopardizing student safety.

User friendly

First time using and it’s really easy to use. The only drawback is that I cannot move the blue strength bar, it’s at the top and when I’m trying to blur something in the top right, it’s a bit hard. Would be an improvement to be able to move the scroll bar around. Other than this - fantastic app. Ease of use, quick response time, no glitches so far. Very pleased!

I'm 37 and not very tech-savvy but this was so easy

There is a video I have that is something private and I couldn't ask one of my kids for help so I downloaded the app and blurred exactly what I needed blurred and now I'm ready to upload the video. Thank you so much and I only paid $3.99 a month which I think is 100% worth it.

Exactly what you expect

Works as intended, helping users blur parts of videos. It's surprisingly easy to use and gives the user plenty of control on how they want to blur the video. Also, it's free. Don't waste your time/money anywhere else. Mac compatibility has all the important functions working, so no issues here.

Privacy Concern

I downloaded this app and the very first thing that pops up with no option to skip is a message requesting access to my entire photo library “for the best experience possible”.. I deleted it immediately. This app should give the option to select which photos/videos you would like to use versus just giving it access to your entire library! I downloaded MovStash instead which allowed me to select which videos/photos I wanted to edit. Maybe this app does work well, but I’m not willing to risk my privacy.

JUST WOW!

I have only made a few but so far this is 10/10! I was able to move and make the blur-circle bigger along with the video and it’s so simple and easy. This is very well made for a free app and I have no regrets downloading it. I would definitely recommend! Minimum adds and honestly, it’s probably the best free blur app i’ve downloaded! 😍😍

i love this app!

it’s the best and the easiest to navigate when it comes to video blurring. i use it to blur my 18+ content and it does the job, is fast and simple, and best of all FREE. i think there may be in-app purchases for extra things but other than that the blurring features are completely free and easy to use.

Works perfect

Works really good and is exactly what i was looking for. Makes it really easy to move the blur throughout the video as the objects position moves within the frame. Way easier than I thought it could be. Worth the subscription if you need to do this often.

Good free app

I was looking for an app like this and I completely expected to find one that required a subscription service. I was pleasantly surprised by this one. This app is completely free and I have yet to come accept any in app purchases. Easy five stars. On top of all this it’s very well made and very intuitive to use.

Great app

This is the easiest blur app I’ve used so far. Works great! Many options to really dail things in. Customer service is very responsive. I had a slight glitch saving a video and they got on it and after a few emails back and forth we got it all fixed. Highly recommend!

Very pleased so far

I literally just use this app for the very first time. But it was much easier and much more accurate than a different app I tried. Also unlike the other app I tried – my video still plays clearly with good resolution. Whereas this other app made the video motion look very choppy. That did not happen with this app so I am pleased. So far so good 👍🏾

Revamped

Once you done your edits and go to save, most of the time it fails. I feel that if you have to reset your phone in order for the app to work appropriately, it should shaved your all your edits until you delete the video from the files in the app. But after it fails you have to restart all over even after spending more then 20 plus minutes at a time editing the video.

Easy to Use and Well Done!

App is exactly as described and has an intuitive user interface. While the auto-tracking didn’t always track as expected, I was able to manually move the blurred area around as the video progressed. Very pleased with the app!

Easier to use than other video blurring apps

I found this app to be a lot more intuitive than similar apps. The controls are easy, the UI is simple, and the timeline option for multiple blurs helps a lot. This app helps me stay safe on the Internet. Thank you, developers! ❤️

Good app

No bate and switch , I needed something quick and simple to blur something in the video and this let you do it intuitively I didn’t read any documentation to watch any videos, took me about three minutes to blur some thing that was moving around the screen

Low barrier to entry

I was able to download the app and blur a video within five minutes with some trial and error. If anything, the quickest little tutorial may have helped; I didn’t know I could only drag the cursor by holding 2 fingers to the screen. Still quick!

Honest opinion

I think this app is great, it’s very easy to blur out your face or others faces in videos you need. But, if you accidentally get rid of the tan on your phone, there is no way to save your progress. Just a second ago, I finished a video, and then the app kicked me out, I go back and there is none of my editing is there. So that’s very annoying. But other then that I think this app is great!

Very easy to use!

I love how easy the app is to work. I don’t show my children in my tiktok videos and this app has helped me blur their faces very well. I don’t have to use a bunch of emojis when editing my videos. I recommend downloading this app if you are in the same position as me!!

Works like a charm!

We have a foster child and we are not permitted to upload pictures or videos of her. Unfortunately a friend didn’t know this and recorded a birthday video with her clearly visible. We downloaded this app, dropped a blur over her and presto, perfect video in less that 60 seconds. You’re awesome!

Great for video

Tracking blur over motion is easy peasy with this app. Where other apps have you dragging the blur object with your finger, the app lets you set the start and end points of a given vector, and will automatically move the blur across that direct path. Easy to make deviations as well for those edge cases.

Really nice

I need a quick and dirty solution and that’s what this is. Not a lot of other junk to get in the way and I like that. Would be nice if you could pinch and zoom into the video to work a little precisely or at the very least go full screen landscape. Otherwise thanks.

Seems legit

Needed an app to edit some videos that have already been made. Was informed of this app and gave it shot. The first (and only video done at the time of writing this) was very easy to edit. The blur feature worked well and didn’t interfere with the content of the video. Definitely looking forward to using it some more.
