Since the last update, neither of these options work. it never prompts for Face ID, even though I have it turned on, and have turned it on multiple times. The remember my device does not work either.
Yesterday I tried to login and there is a new login screen. There has been no update in a month so not sure how they did this, but you can’t login using keychain or paste because it doesn’t recognize the input. Extremely poor QA by someone. This change should never have rolled out. App is now useless. Worse, when you try the link to report a problem it goes to a marketing page where they want to provide you product information so you can buy services. They need a dedicated page for app support.
I can’t understand how a big corporation, handling millions of dollars, can’t figure out how to get a decent app. From all the feedback, I’m clearly not the only one to feel this way. About 1 out of 15 tries the app actually opens, mostly the timer just spins and spins, then I close the app, I update the app, I give up on the app - a week later I try again, no luck, another week and suddenly it works! Once. the next time I’m back to the same as above, rinse, repeat. BNY really needs to look into this.
I have only been using this app for a month. It gives basic account information but not much else. One problem I have is the font size is very small and it doesn’t enlarge with pinched fingers the way you can everything else on your devices.
A few months ago, i downloaded this app and couldn’t even log into my account. After the last update, I can log in and access my account information seamlessly. I have not used the app much yet, but better is better.
Why does a major financial institution have such a garbage app? This is like a bunch of poorly designed webpages that have been pushed into an app for the sake of being an app - I’m always surprised it doesn’t just open in Safari when I click on it. Meanwhile, I can no longer login because the “login” button can’t be a actioned after entering my credentials. Bravo, goo stuff BNY.
Appreciate the two factor authentication but why can’t you bother to program the input box to know I’m typing in numbers? It’s a simple programming thought and indicative to how little you care about the application.
Login info deletes with every minor update they require
Each time the app updates, it fails to retain any of the user login information. What good is having an app that doesn’t simplify the process of quickly seeing your finances? Also, app is very limited in terms of how you view your accounts.
The app crashes on the first attempt every single time I log in! Changing the name to BNY is not going to help you when you don’t have a half decent app. Even the tech support link on the Apple App Store doesn’t work. It’s pathetic.
Would give it -5 stars if I could. It’s 2022, Pershing is a large bank. How in the world can they not have this figured out? They need to fire every single one of their mobile engineers including QA. This is awful. Stay away from this app!
The app fails to start and barely works. I still haven’t been able to deposit important checks. Banks can and should do better. This is people’s money, so failed engineering is unacceptable.
In mid-late January 2022, Pershing made changes to their login, such that if you were using this app with FaceID/TouchID (FTID), the FTID you had been using no longer worked. After spending much time on hold, I finally got to talk to a Pershing tech support person. This is what you need to do to make FTID work again. First, remember your user ID and password. If you have everything synced between your Apple devices and you have a Mac, you can look it up in the Keychain Utility app. Not sure where you might find it on an iOS device. Or work with Pershing to change your password. Next, in the iOS app, login to your account manually entering your user ID and password. DO NOT USE FTID!!!!! Finally, once you are logged in, setup FTID like you did when you first started using this app. Things should be like they were before. Although, some of the menu items were a little weird the first few time I logged in using FTID; IIRC, the string “NXI” appeared in the menu items. But that has since gone away for me. YMMV So once you are logged in, this is a decent enough app for accessing your Pershing account info. Nothing dazzling, it gets the job done. If you are like me and save the PDFs of monthly statements and other such documents from Pershing, I find saving in iOS awkward and much prefer doing all that on my Mac. I hope this helps all the folks who, like me, had their difficulties using FTID after the Pershing login changes were implemented.
I didn’t even I have a number of complaints about this app, but the first problem I encountered had to do with my username. Why provide a customer with a username they’ll never remember and then not allow them to change the username, or any other profile information such as my incorrect phone number, from the website or app? Basic functionality that a company of this size should have had in their initial app launch 4+ years ago.
This is less an app than a website disguised as an app. And now it’s not even that, as I haven’t been able to log into it in weeks. Enter your username and password, hit login, and NOTHING HAPPENS. I know you’re a stodgy old financial institution but c’mon!
