I got the note 3. As primitive as the software that came with it was. Simple use was a bit OK. I don’t know what made me want to upgrade to the latest version. But ever since then nothing works the way that is supposed to. Customer service is almost impossible. Being that they are on the opposite side of the globe.
Notes are viewable on iOS and iPadOS devices, and editable on the latter. Being able to push files and photos from my Apple devices to my Onyx BOOX device is really convenient. From those files I’ve created multi page templates and I used one photo as my device screensaver, in addition to the several ebooks (non-DRM PDF and EPUB) I was able to push across. In short this app has everything I would expect from an iOS/iPadOS app supporting a third party service and device. I’d normally give an app 5 stars only if it did something amazing and unexpected, but in this case I don’t know if that’s fair b/c given how the Apple ecosystem works, the developers of this app are limited in what additional features they can add without collecting a lot of data about end users and their devices. I really appreciate the respect of privacy.
This would immediately be my favorite app on my phone if I could read epubs in the app. THEN sync the reading position to my boox library!!! I love to read on my boox device and then pick up where I left off on my phone. Currently I use libby to do this. If the feature were added I would be able to completely commit to a Boox ecosystem and enjoy all the features I need natively!
Unfortunately no matter how many times I attempt to sync my notes with the app, the pages always transfer as blank. The app works great to transfer documents from your phone to your BOOX device, but transferring in the opposite direction does not seem to work. Would definitely give a better rating if the other half of the app actually functioned as advertised.
I understand security and simple instructions but the log-in process was intolerable and I still haven’t managed it. So I gave up. I don’t really need the app so I wasn’t fully motivated. If the log in process is not intuitive then you will loose customers and, frankly, I wasn’t keen to give away my phone and email details.
Please add boox to the share options from Safari. We should be able to share a webpage link directly from the share sheet. Currently we have to copy the link, go to the boox app and paste it there
I have a BOOX Lumi and also a RM2. It’s clear BOOX is much more functional but I find myself reaching out a lot more to my RM because BOOX had such poor software — unintuitive and even difficult to transfer just a PDF. Can’t drop it directly to the app on iPhone??? Can’t send it back? If it takes me ten pushes to do that, then I’ll be going to the three pushes required for RM. I’ve no plan to upgrade my BOOX on the horizon if BOOX doesn’t do better on the GUI.
1. Transfer local files to BOOX terminal for reading via WiFi transfer or push; 2. Push the news/web page link to the BOOX terminal to read; 3. Scan QR code to directly view and download the reading screenshot or note page on BOOX device; 4. Synced notes from BOOX device; 5. Update the firmware of BOOX Bluetooth accessories;
