I use this to glean the bpm of records I plan to mix for dj sets. Works pretty well for standard stuff, however it’s kinda thrown off by more intricate beats or stuff that isn’t a standard time signature. Either way, totally worth the $0 spent and keeps me from using my brain.
This app is as advertised. My son (12yo) is a drummer and I was looking for something he can use to time his BPM to songs to improve his pace and timing without needing someone else to “tap” it for him. This worked perfectly… and to make it even better the developer responded to questions in less than a day on a weekend. Highly appreciate that kind of service. Kudos, great app!!
Other BPM Detectors don’t really detect anything. They simply require you to physically tap along to the beat to determine the beats per minute. THIS app is the one you have been searching for. It listens to the music and provides the BPM. Great for DJs and anyone who wants to create their own bpm specific workout music. Works with the Shazam app that identifies any song in seconds. 5 Stars!
Would be incredibly useful if not for constant ads
When I first got the app it worked amazing! You’d have an ad every minute or so but you could effectively find your BPM. I just uninstalled after getting 3 different Uber ad popups (which forced the music to pause and ruin the BPM results), each one starting within 2 seconds of the last one finishing. Genuinely don’t even waste your time, go find a free tap counter or something and quit giving these guys your downloads. They, like so many others, ruined an actually good product just for a quick buck.
I LOVE this app! So useful. Fellow DJS love it when we’re vibing to a set and I bust this thing out to check the tempo. Love it for myself when I’m feeling another DJ’s set and feel inspired and want to confirm the pulse of the vibe. Thanks Quentin for creating this!
The whole point I paid the subscription is it made it seem like I would be able to find the BPM of a track I was playing off my phone, but it cuts the music out when it starts listening. Shazam and Instagram don’t have this problem, but I guess this app can’t use the mic and the audio output at the same time. Wish I could get my $1 back
Having a BPM detector along with Shazam in a single app is a complete game changer, I totally love this. Also the haptic function is really accurate! 100% recommended
I am an old skool DJ doing mixes on the radio. As I work through my vinyl collection this app is an ENORMOUS time saver, and helps playlisting the Love Train show. -DJ Permutation
Always with these apps you have to at least snap your fingers to the beat. There’s no such thing as AI. You need a human to understand music. How is this supposed to understand music in 5/4 time signature or 7/8 time signature? Indian music? Javanese gamelan?
Disappointing & Frustrating - Ad pop ups continuously overtake the App. I could not track for even 15 or 30 seconds. It stops the music and defeats the purpose of why I bought the App. This seems to be an advertising vehicle.
I never leave reviews but I wish I saw more people warning me that this doesn't work. Really regret paying $10 for the ad-free version but shoutout the creator who just finessed me. simply inaccurate bpms
Champs jumps from speed to speed picks up too much. It’s gotta be a way to set it better I’ve tried messing with it. Tried going back to the default. It’s not working.
This app is garbage. I’ve used it multiple times and it always registers the BPM 150+. So I turned on the drum machine, the beat was set at a tempo of 74, I then summoned the App, and again it registered the beat at 150. 😅
Automatically detect the music's tempo with your device's microphone! - No tap needed: the app detects the BPM automatically from the mic - Shazam integration: get the track's name and artist along with the current tempo thanks to Shazam (iOS 15+) - Detection history list: keep track of your detections over time, complete with Shazam track IDs and BPM (iOS 15+) - Fullscreen mode: display a huge BPM counter and see it from across the room! This is the last BPM counter you'll ever need! A fully automatic detector that works with sound from the mic. No tap tempo required.
