Love how you can track your progress!
I love this card because it motivates you to reach small goals and rewards you for them. Everyone like to see progress and see incentive for it. The app is awesome because it’s a quick and easy way to lay and everything is right there for a quick and easy way to see where you are , make a payment and really be inspired to make payments on time manage your progress and empower yourself to budget and be responsible. It’s motivation and reward and somehow it just helps you want to stay on track. I have been more then pleased with the app it’s ease of use not over complicated. Keeping it simple and always encouraging which motivates you to be interactive and strive to achieve financial freedom and build your credit I am happy and more then pleased with my overall experience with this company and the app makes like so easy. Working toward a goal is fun. It’s a great card and a great app. I love this company and out of all the credit cards I have this is by far the one I stay on top of the most thank you for creating a way to look at my credit card in a different way.

Great card
I absolutely love this card. It gives you small goals and lets you reach them so you can actually see that you’re doing something. It’s upwardly mobile so the better you are at keeping things paid on time you get rewarded. I have had a Capital One card for almost 20 years, I have been good with that card have paid it on time and my balance has never gone up and whenever I asked for a credit increase they say no. This card is way better. I’m glad I applied. The app is easy to use the way its set up right now is perfect. I wouldn’t change a thing I enjoy it. I love the easy ability on Payment and I love that when I open it up I instantly get to see what I have for credit great app for a great card

Approved for credit and denied access
I was approved for the card back in December 2021. I have never been able to login to the app. I was patient at first and willing to talk and figure out why I could not access the app. During multiple different conversations over the first month I was told to uninstall and reinstall. Then told to reset my password through OneMain Financial Website but don’t login in there and to go back to the app and login. Then I was told I’d have a ticket made for my account to have the issue addressed. Then I was told that the representative would have management contact me to help. I am still waiting on the call from nearly 2 months ago now. I have a card and i had to activate it through the phone but I refuse to use it if I can’t follow the charges made and if I can’t make payments as needed. I’m glad I was approved for the credit but it’s unfortunate that it’s useless to me. To this day, and again just now, uninstalling and reinstalling and resetting the password has gotten me NOWHERE. There’s no point to call as ask for assistance because that has always gotten me NOWHERE also. I was told a website would be up sometime for the credit card. Maybe, whenever that’ll be, I’ll be able to use my card.

The app is not what it used to be
When I got this card, I was guaranteed that they would work for me in my favor to make sure I was protected in my finances were protected. I have had fraudulent charges on my account which I have proven time and time again, but the people that are doing the investigations are just calling people and asking them questions and these people are lying to them when I have the literal proof that I wasn’t at these spaces or that I did not receive any service from specific places this app checks you through GPS it tracks where you are it tracks where you spend it tracks how you spend so it’s very obvious when it is a fraudulent charge because it’s something out of the ordinary something I would never do something that doesn’t ever happen and when I call somebody that gives me the runaround talks and riddles mumbo-jumbo, it seems to be some kind of accent barrier where they can never understand the facts that I’m telling them and constantly making me repeat things to them in different forms like an interrogation I am the clientI pay this company fees. They loan me money, but that money is to be protected and it’s not being protected.

Worst card ever!
I received a bill from this credit card company. And I still haven’t received the card. The bill was for the annual fee. I signed up in December of 2023 and had a bill in January I still didn’t receive a card. I called in they said they were going to send one out right away waited another month and nothing. It March now I just received this card. All I got was a sorry they didn’t even remove the fee I’ve never had a issue with any other credit card like this even on the less known ones. Also there customer service is horrible I couldn’t speak with a representative, it took about an hr and 10 mins before I actually spoke with a representative. And when I did they couldn’t help me. Also she would not transfer me to a representative because she kept saying they wouldn’t help me if it was relating the same issue. Now I’m dealing with my card not being able to work until I pay this fee. From December 2023 to March 2 I’ve been having issues. All my interactions were recorded and documented in case I need to share them with any for any proof. Over all I am unsatisfied with this card and there services.

Doesn’t Always Work & Needs More Features
Love the card, don’t like the app and automated phone service too much. This would be a great app if it worked on a regular basis. But it doesn’t. I have had to delete it, reinstall it, delete it and reinstall it, and half the time that did not work. I have had to go through the OneMain site to get my card information. The app would also be good if you could add your debit card as a second payment option. This feature does not work using the automated pay by phone and the customer service agent asked stupid questions over and over again asking how I was trying to access it! DUH!!! How idiotic. And why after your payment posts, it takes so long for your balance to update. Another reason why having the debit card payment option as a second source of online payment, because it will update within 24 - 48 hours. In short the phone service and mobile app are not sufficient and needs a lot of improvement. With these improvements, it can make the process more efficient.

Lousy customer service
Don’t do business with Brightway!! I paid off balance showing in February and a few weeks later I called to cancel account. I asked the customer service representative what about the 6.95 bill?? The man said don’t worry about it, thinking it was a charge for interest he said don’t worry about it? So I asked what the 6.95 was for? He again says don’t worry about it. I get 3 more bills so I called again they now say it’s a 3 day late charge. Since then they’ve given me 3 different amounts 2.38 late charge and a 1.99 auto pay from google which I’ve since cancelled. They say it’s my issue seriously??? If the employee isn’t capable of giving me a balance then I don’t worry about it. I’m sending a letter to better business and the credit bureau. At this point I’m so angry I Refuse to pay a penny and they can send google request to reverse 1.99 I’d never do business with this company!! To top it off I told them I’ve recently had surgery and treatments monthly on 3 brain cancer. Thanks for the customer service lousy information. You’re responsible for your employees!

Quick and easy credit builder
BrightWay is pretty good and simple! I can view everything in the app and control my card, rewards or review policies. They also offer a choice of a few rewards if you make your first 6 months of payments on time. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is that there is a lag (or maybe just a gap they intended on purpose, not sure) on updates to your acct i.e. the balance and choosing your reward. I had to wait about a statement cycle and a half before I got to chose the reward and for the reward I chose it said give it 5-7 days to reflect. So in reality it was like 7 to 7 1/2 months before I got to chose my reward but it did tell me at the 6 month mark that I achieved it but you just don't get to choose immediately if that makes sense. Otherwise it is great and does what it promotes.

Love my BrightWay card! Easy to navigate app & make payments! Not available to use on Apple Pay.
So easy to make payments via the app. I did have to call their customer service number over another small issue pertaining to something else, & I had the worst time trying to speak with an actually person. The automated robot when asked if I could speak to a customer service rep kept replying “I’m sorry I didn’t get that” I got so frustrated but eventually got through to someone who was very nice and helpful! I also wish they would allow you to add this card to Apple Pay but at the moment they do not. None the less I love my card and haven’t had any issues with using it!

The Site should have an instant debit pay for payments to account. I am able to pay the other credit cards from my account and the money transfer to them within 24 hours. Yours take a week. By that time I’ve lost site that your money has not come out of that one account yet & there may not be the exact amount for you to draw on 7 or 8 days later. I have to call and then, like this summer when I was on vacation & called & the gentleman said it would act like a debit, it never did transfer to the card for payment. The world has become fast & instant and we have had to adjust to it and now live by it. Therefore I wish you would allow debit (instant) payment to you app for quick payment of the credit card bill, like every credit card does. I know you don’t respond to these but it would be interesting as to why you don’t.

My experience with BrightWay so far.
I am rebuilding my credit after an ugly divorce and bad financial situation. I just scheduled my second payment. The app is easy to use, and the straight forward communication from them as to where I am with things and what happens when I make certain amounts of on time payments, is very encouraging and open. So far I am very happy with my bright way account. As a busy person the text reminders are early and give my plenty of heads up, so I won’t miss payments. This is very important to me, and I am happy with BrightWay and their app. This review is unsolicited and I wrote this on my own, as I feel they are really helping me get back on track. One Main Financial
Got this card through One Main Financial and I’m glad I did. Not only did they help me with the personal loan I got through them, they approved me quick and easy with this card. Which makes it easy to secure credit and build credit all with one company. I recommend One Main Financial to anyone looking for a personal Loan or using their car’s title/registration to secure the loan. After you make on time payments with the title or registration loan they will qualify you for a personal loan not using your car which helps really build your credit. They report to all three credit companies. My score went up almost 100 points in a year paying on time.

Easy!
The BrightWay app made making my credit card payment quick and easy! No hoops to jump through, no endless proof and verification requirements, and no need to wait on hold to speak to anyone. Fast and easy! no stress or anxiety using app. And if you are someone who struggles with initiating tasks because you get overwhelmed and then suffer the consequences of your anxiety (ie ADHD amongst others) this app really does make it fast and simple to pay and be done so you no longer have it weighing on you. Thank you BrightWay, I’m sure it wasn’t your reason for creating this app, but it certainly did make it easier for me to take one thing off my to do list that needed to be done.

GREAT CARD!!
This card does EXACTLY what it says it does. I have had this card for a while now and every 6 months you have a choice to get lower APR or a credit limit increase as long as you pay on time. This card makes it very easy to track your progress. I would and has recommended it to my friends. The cash back is perfect, it lowers your amount owed. I recently started receiving an opportunity for a loan, but hasn’t acted upon it, but I really feel it would be great, when I decide to. If you’re looking for a card that does EVERYTHING it says it will do, then this is the card for you.

Company withholds money for 5 - 10 business days
This card would be great but it’s really an issue that this card says it’s could take 5-10 business days to release funds that are already out of my bank account. If I wanted to practice good credit building practices and pay off my balance in one month and be able to use that new amount the next month, I have to wait up to 5-10 business days to even use the money! The money is no longer on my checking account at this point— it’s literally already withdrawn and in the one main financial system, yet I can’t access my own money. Something I’ll be looking into more and definitely considering not keeping this card. Never have I heard of a credi card company that takes that long even after they’ve already withdrawn the money.

Small app glitch
Easily approved for a higher limit than my other credit cards. I took the chance on applying through Experian. I received my card quickly as well. My only complaint is within the app. There is an option to lock your credit card. But, when I click on it, it tells me to call customer service. I don’t want to call customer service anytime I would like to unlock/lock my card. BUT, at least there is an option. I would assume that they are working on that feature. I do have 2 other cards that doesn’t offer the lock card feature at all. Let alone having the feature not working

High annual fee worth it to rebuild credit
The Brightway card from OneMain Financial has a high annual fee,but when rebuilding credit it’s a high annual fee or a secured card. I wasn’t interested in starting all over with a secured card and how was that helping my current negative cash situation? It wasn’t. Brightway extended me $500 in credit with a $98 annual fee BUT it wasn’t required for that fee to be paid in advanced as with most;this meant I had $500 for bills pending disconnect as opposed to the zero cash I currently had. For my current situation this was a game changer and life saver. The Brightway card arrived quickly, their app is simple and easy to use. So if you’re like me who went from 100’s of thousands a year to nothing,from an excellent credit score to the poorest score, I highly recommend Brightway from OneMain Financial. I’m not 99% certain on this,but believe this card was recommend to me from my Experian account. I give Brightway 5 stars

A couple of quirks but good
This app frustrates me from time to time when I try to make extra payments. It considers any auto payment you have coming up and will not let you pay anything that will interfere with that happening. It probably is to protect us from late payments but it seems if someone is paying so ‘early’ they will likely continue to use the card…I don’t know if I am making sense. I love BrightWay. They have allowed me to prove myself when other card issuers would not. Capital One, BrightWay, and Sunbit all have been amazing.

Easy to use, but…
This app is designed very well and easy to navigate. It’s nice that you can see your balance you owe and what is available to you. However, I wish that on auto payments they had an option to select your own amount to be paid. They do offer this however if you make a one time payment. However, if you want to make more than a minimum payment and less than your total balance payment on auto pay it is not available. this is the only disappointing thing about this app. Other than this, I thoroughly find this app easy to use and very helpful.

This review is actually about the app
The BrightWay app is overall decent, though its simplicity, color pallet, and language choice implies it was designed for people who are very young. The app’s core features, like enrolling in Auto Pay are buried within a “chatbot” like format, which feels cumbersome, and unnecessary. For most users, a few page flows with traditional auto pay setup would be faster and less annoying than a chat style flow with a fake bot. I think the app’s project managers and designers went a bit overboard designing an app for imbeciles, rather than designing a good banking app. It’s a pity. There was clearly a generous budget for app development, based on the overall development quality, setting aside the juvenile nature of the design.

Good card
Despite the annual fee and high APR, I think this card is good overall for rebuilding your credit. If you use it responsibly, only charge what you can pay off each month or within a few payments and after so many months, your credit will gradually increase and you will get better perks with this card. Customer service was great experience! My rep was very nice, helpful and polite. I do recommend this card for some people, not all.

Great card to rebuild
No issues… They gave me a spending limit I can actually do something with. Most cards only want to give you a low limit when rebuilding your credit. Well if you go over 30% it actually hurts you. So nice to get a limit that I can actually use and not have to worry about hurting my credit at the same time. No issues. Easy payment with app. Could use a little lower interest rate but when you mess your credit up it takes time to rebuild it and get lower rates. Especially with todays rates. Overall been a easy and pleasant experience.

Not so great
The Brightway card seems to be difficult to manage. I’ve actually had to call 2-3 times in the past few months to complete a transaction that should be done on the app. For in’s, I wanted to increase the amount of my autopay and it actually deleted it completely. Then when I tried to add it back, the option was not available. I called customer service and was told that there’s some issue with newer accounts where the autopay option is not available after deletion for some unspecified period of time. The only solution was to make a one time payment monthly until it’s fixed. All other cards allow edits and deletions of autopay as needed.

One of the most poorly designed, unintuitive apps
The app is designed in a way that it’s UI is unusable for customers. Even simple things like entering in your banking information for payment is difficult because the system makes you go through a chat bot program to enter information. There are multiple forms are set up incorrectly or if intentionally done, set up in a way to confuse people. For example even choosing payment dates is a hassle bc the system lets you pick “today” or the due date. If you want a custom date you can but the menu removes the calendar for custom dates so you just type in the month and day. No year. No day of the week. Lots of little things like that prove this is a very low effort app

App /laptop not working
Every month when I try to make a payment it takes me 20 to 30 minutes because the laptop site won’t take my password so I say I forgot my password it’s states it’s going to send me an email to reset my password. I never get the email so I try to make a payment on my phone. It won’t take my password again I click on reset password it states it’ll send me an email and it never does last night. I was on that for 45 minutes. I called customer service they left me on hold. I just called again they left me on hold. why is it so hard to make a payment this is ridiculous. I would do no stars but it won’t let you move forward unless you do one star.

App Unreliable
Needed to check card immediately to make sure that I wasn’t double charged by a merchant because the self checkout machine shut down during my transaction. I could not access the app, had to call customer service. The entire time I spent trying to access the app and reach customer service was half an hour. It was like being stranded on the road waiting for a tow truck. The app is like an hourglass on your computer…three dots spinning, spinning, spinning.

It’s easy and they also do loans so building reputations with them is always beneficial. I used to never be able to be approved by them for loans in the past but then I got a bunch of credit cards to increase credit. Keep them low like no more than 15% also pay them down to 0 zero and wait for there statement to post. Then spend between 5-25% wait for statement post and restart with paying it to zero. Rinse and repeat

The Worst Card that I have ever had !
Had this card for 14 months and never missed a payment . In fact I paid my balance in full every month . Never had a returned payment , nothing . They even doubled my credit limit ! Then one day they froze my account ! After inquiring as to why , I was told that I am not the kind of customer that they want ! They want people who can not pay their bill ? What is this ! They admitted to me that they only want to loan people money who can not really afford to pay ! This is predatory lending ! I paid my balance and closed my account ! I want to be rewarded for loyalty and honor , not castigated and punished ! I highly recommend that you look at other Cards .

Not the best
Got my first bill. Emails and texts to let me know my bill generated on my new card. This all happened on June 5th. On the 4th I had checked and no bill generated. Checking the account it showed a small amount due. The problems was, bill generated on June 5th. Bill due date June 1st. Seems like there are some bugs in their system. Have not had any issues with this card but there will be big issues if my credit report shows I paid 4 days late because of their error.

Fast Approval, Convenient App, Great 1st Card
This was my first time getting a credit card with an actual credit limit. So far I’ve used this card a lot, making payments on time and getting great rewards and cash back. My credit score has already increased and it’s helped me get back on track. The app is super simple and customer service is very helpful. Would recommend to anyone looking for a easy line of credit.

Interest increases with less usage
It’s so weird that my interest rate increases the less that I use my card. I haven’t used my card since July. It is now October and every month my interest rate gets higher and higher. This directly impacts the amount available. The more I use my card, the lower the interest, ironically. I stopped using my card because they locked it without even notifying me. When I called, I was told that the backoffice is requesting a payment verification. But no one, not even a supervisor could tell me what that was or why it was being requested. So, I am allowing the card to stay locked. This is a mutual agreement between us. I am glad that they locked the card without warning me. I don’t have to use the card. I regret getting credit from this company anyway. Hopefully I could hurry up and pay it off and end this relationship. The app is restrictive and primitive. And the customer service is horrendous. And they have the audacity to limit how many times we are able to change our email address.

Customer service is good…my only concern/problem is the processing of my payment…on my end…the payment processed on time…I pay my bills thru my bank and have for the past 15+years. Never had a problem…never until dealing with this company…you show the payment received 1 day late..and immediately charged me a late fee!!! This cleared my bank on time…don’t know what kind of service you use…but it’s not correct…not being fair to your customers…if that matters to you.

Great Opportunity Card
BrightWay from One Main Financial is a great starter card and gives individuals with no or minimal credit and opportunity to establish a good credit history and starts you at a decent credit limit. Additionally, as you progress through their program they provide incentives designed to reward the cardholder for good credit habits. I highly recommend this card for those wanting to establish credit.

Not user friendly
I was not able to get into the app for about 2 weeks and was never receiving the password reset link. After finally getting hold of someone they had to delete my profile to allow me to set it up again. After that the app was still not making it easy to set up the profile. When trying to put in my DOB it kept rolling to different month, date and year and I had to reset it several times. With most companies using apps I would think that minor things like this would be glitches that would already have been worked out.

Auto Pay Set Up and still got a late fee
I received a late payment notice even though I have Auto Pay set up in their system. I called and was told the payment was pending even though it did not show up in the app. I then received a late payment the next day and account still shows auto pay is set up. I called again and they removed the late fee and I had to make a manual payment. Something’s not working right. I am right in the middle of purchasing a home and the last thing I need is a late fee to show up.

Beware!
Customer service is poor. I need a due date change, and was informed “we don’t do that!”. I asked “why?”, since this is very unusual. Was informed “because we can’t!”. I explained that the due date is the day I receive the funds I use to pay this & if anything goes wrong, I don’t have any time to make alternate plans for payment. I’m only looking to move the due date from the 3rd to the 6th. Again was told “we can’t do that! Anything else I can help you with?” Seniors & disabled ppl get paid on the 3rd. Charging a late payment if something goes wrong at the bank is predatory. BEWARE!!

It seems as though the app works ok. But I’ve got questions It seems like I do the auto pay it shows that payment was received and then a couple of days later it says the payment was returned not a big fan of that I know the money is in my account but it takes for ever to show up in my account. But every time it shows it was returned I have to pay a late fee which it’s not late because they state the money will be withdrawn the day before the due date. They need to figure it out because I diffently will not recommend this to my friends

User friendly but limited/antiquated on payment options
I like how user friendly this app is with how easy one navigates between viewing your account information and the like. I am not giving it 5 stars because there is no option to make “express payments” using your bank debit card like other credit card companies offer. Hopefully that is an option BrightWay is considering to add in the near future.

I have been enjoying my new card. I was approved within minutes. After I received my card, I love how after you make a payment you don’t have to wait to see your available balance. Additionally, they have a program that is you pay on time for 6 months, you will get bonuses, likes credit increase or other cool things. Great card so far.

Easy to use
I have had the BrightWay card about 2 months now, it easy to use and even offers tap pay, the app is a bit basic but very easy to use for people who are not tech savvy. The only downside is you have to call One Main for any changes which is inconvenient and they always seem to have long hold times. I would recommend the card to anyone trying to build credit.

Hate It/Won’t Login
I got this card after completing a loan with One Main a few years back. I was excited to use it, but have never been able to since I can’t use the app. Every time I try to create an account or login, I get a “oops, we hit a snag” error message. I’ve called customer service several times about this and was told I was the only person having this issue and they would be working on it. It’s been 2 months and I’ve never activated or used the card. I would close it it, but that would hurt my credit score. So now I’m trapped with a credit card I can not use.

Totally Terrific…….
Using the BrightWay credit card and app couldn’t be any easier. They are both convenient. It is nice to have a credit card I can use right away and make the payments on time online with the app. The incentive to making a certain amount of on-time payments is also nice . I highly recommend this card and app to everyone.

Great card for building credit
We have had some financial challenges but throughout all of it, this card has been the best when everyone else was cutting our card limits down or off. They not only stuck with us while making on time payments but rewarded us as promised with a credit increase.

Make payment on the 10th and not posted to the 11th
I made my payment today on the 10th it will not post to the 11th. I should not receive a late payment because of that. I work all day and I only had time to make payment tonight! I hope I do not get charged. I do this with all my cards because I get off work late. Next time I will make payment earlier. When called customer service was very nice

Very easy to use and make payments off the app; all my deposit fees have been applied while renting a car and also while staying at a hotel they charge an extra fee as for my card no compliants all my credits went back on my card I feel like other cards don’t do that..happy customer!!

Horrible Customer Service Outside Of Country!
Horrible Customer Service! ZERO STARS! Customer Service and APP failed miserably this morning setting up my first ontime payment! Password suddenly invalid & locked my account!! Reset password email only restated only Customer Service could reset passwords. Forced to call them no less than FIVE TIMES to have my password RESET because each agent IN THE PHILLIPINES (Agent shared info) disconnected call at various stages of calls. When I had to call back x2 to setup payment from my Debit card, both agents AGAIN DISCONNECTED! If you can find a better bank, please do not fall for this!

Credit card and app
Takes a couple of days for anything transactions pending transactions in the show up Or I should say the app takes a couple of days to update don’t receive notifications when you use the card any interest is high they act like they’re doing you a favor, but it’s just a cheap high interest credit card in the app takes forever to update might be two days for it to update and we know in the computer age it only takes a couple seconds for a couple of minutes for computers to update anything

BrightWay website and app
I cannot log on to your website. It sends me in a loop to confirm I am a real person over and over. Occasionally it lets me pic some photos to confirm (bicycles, motorcycles or the likes) but then it asks me to do it again and again and again in an endless loop. I have tried it in Chrome and Safari and both do the same thing. So I downloaded the app hoping it would be easier. NO! I had to keep putting in my custom payment amount OVER and OVER and OVER until I was about to give up and then I put in $25 minimum, went through the steps and then went back to custom amount and it finally took. Jez! Endless loops of frustration. I can’t wait to pay it off and NEVER EVER use the card again!!! You need to go back to the drawing board on both the website and the app. Not to mention you send me a payment reminder EVERY DAY! What’s with that? I have a calendar!
