I’m not here saying the app is bad, I bet it is absolutely great, and worth more than 3 stars, but making an account was VERY unclear, and I could not do it in the app or on the website for some reason. I will obviously look into it deeper. I thought it was exclusive at first, but the reviews say it is a very great app. I bet it is, honestly. I just wish there were more precise directions on all of this. Sorry to sound negative, I am not saying this app is bad by any means. Honestly I bet it’s worth it. Except I was not able to go past the startup screen. Coming from a world of simplicity and always having everything right in front of me, I know I was probably too harsh on this app. My greatest apologies.
I used this app a few weeks ago to livestream a meditation service from my iPad 4 mini. It was super easy to set up and viewers thought the audio and video quality were great. Unfortunately, when I logged back into the app a couple days ago after an update, the app crashed every time I tried to open it. After trying a bunch of stuff to troubleshoot, I finally decided to use the chat feature on the Boxcast website to get help. They responded right away with a suggestion that fixed the problem.
Why the paranoia about logging the user out after 24 hours? If someone is truly concerned about security, why can’t they log themselves out after using the app? What is the worst that someone can do? The release notes for the latest version say that you can edit more things using the mobile app but I did not see anything added. You still cannot add backgrounds be in the mobile app and this is a great inconvenience. I don’t like having to use a computer to setup the livestream.
The picture and quality is good for our filming needs and it is convenient to have a link for sharing film. However, in the iPad mini version there is some sort of glitch where we are unable to share the link from the app. We have to instead log in on our phones to share the link.
This app has allowed us to stream our church services where wired internet is not available. It has worked flawlessly for two months. Very easy to use.
No option to keep me signed in to app. Every time I need access to the app it’s to quickly do something, but having to log in every time makes it a not so quick process and therefore super annoying when in a pinch.
Very easy to use and intuitive. More limited than the website, but gets the job done. I’m almost always very happy with Boxcast and I’m glad they have an app!
I love the app, but I hate that it logs me off. I use the app so I can pull the app up and I’m on it, it is getting old having to login almost every time I pull the app up.
App continually crashes after beginning to stream, even on updated iOS, along with overheating, landscape/portrait orientation issues, and other issues Boxcast will feign as ‘user errors’. Look at Larix and other apps that are much more reliable and integrate with Boxcast.
Even with a static rtmp stream key I haven’t been able to quickly start a live stream using this app. It has the potential to be one of best services on the market but right not I can not rely on it to generate or schedule a stream.
I can watch on ROKU w/o a problem. Downloaded the app and epic failure. Password? What password? No explanation anywhere or method of creating super disappointing. Want to follow my church even even not in front of the TV. Oh well, so sad.
This app gives us the ability to stream events from our iPads or iPhones to our Boxcast channels without the need of an encoder or additional camera. You can manage your account remotely which is a feature most competitors don’t have. If it worked with Android or allowed you to add remote cameras like Switcher Studio it would be perfect. This app was one of the reasons we switched from Streamspot to Boxcast.
Search function bombs as soon as I type the first letter of the search. Reverts to the app screen on Apple TV. App no longer stores favorites. App now has no sound. Video is perfect but no sound. Deleted and reloaded the app with no success with sound or any of the other issues. Tried to log in again but but doesn’t recognize my sign in and does not send a reset code.
Too many opportunities to miss a step when producing a broad cast
I have revised my evaluation of your app downward. Over the past few weeks I have noticed that when I have completed a broadcast and I have set the destinations through the app, the broadcast does not make it to the 4 destinations that set. I will no longer be using the app and recommend that anyone who does YouTube, Facebook or website broadcasts not use it either. I have use your app for several months now. It works well but if I fail to click a single button the broadcast that was just produced may not be public. And there is no way to go back after the broadcast and change the status from private to public. It is an issue I wish you could resolve.
one weakness is there is no multichat for live-streams. i love that i can go live to all platforms from my phone... but not seeing chat from facebook youtube and instagram is a weakness
