It’s annoying when I open the app, it takes a few seconds for the camera to load. What if I want to take a picture of something and then it goes away and I couldn’t take the picture because of the stupid camera? And also when you zoom up on something, it’s gets really grainy. This is annoying, you can’t even see what it is! And also, when you take a picture, you’re sure that you focused the camera, and turns out the picture is really blurry? This is so annoying! I wish there was a feature that would make a blurry picture clear! But of course, there isn’t! And when you edit a picture (like you add text or something), it turns off Live Photo! C’mon, Apple, the world is able to do amazing things, and you can’t even make it possible to have a Live Photo with text?!
Not bad, but still a few problems, not the camera app though, the actual camera
I used to have an IPhone X and it was pretty great. It took really good photos and I was pretty happy about it. Now I have the IPhone 14 and I’m REALLY happy about it with all the new features including cinematic mode, my favorite. But there is just one tiny but I absolutely hate. How the iPhone 14 has the 12mp and the iPhone 14 Pro has 3 times that. WOULD IT HURT TO MOVE IT UP TO 24MP AT LEAST. Well now it’s too late anyway. One more thing about the camera mp is that why can’t you zoom 2x on the iPhone 14 but you can on the iPhone 15. You could just literally add a button that says 2x. And one more problem I encountered was the brightness. Whenever I try to take low light photos it is really, really good. But when I try to take pictures that are low light but want it to look like that, for example A PERSON WATCHING THE ECLIPSE AND TRYING TO TAKE A PHOTO OF HOW DARK IT IS BUT IT TURNS OUT TO BE REALLY BRIGHT, you should add a button where you can press it so it can be for real like how much light is actually there, and I’m not talking about the night mode thingy. I know making the base models bad makes people buy the pro models I get it but at least put some work into the base and plus or mini whatever models. I’m rating 5 stars because I’m complaining about the camera not the camera app. The camera app is AMAZING as always.
I have a 13 Pro Max, that came with iOS 15 and is upgraded to the latest iOS 17.5. When the camera app is opened, it freezes in Photo Mode within 5 seconds on the forward facing camera 1x, 0.5 & 3x zoom modes do not work either in this mode of operation. I have tried the other options after it begins working again. Time-lapse, SLO-mo, and Pano modes work on their respective camera lenses. Cinematic, Video, Photo and Portrait Modes freeze the forward facing camera within seconds of switching to those modes. I can’t even snap a quick photo as it will not capture the photo on forward face. Rear-facing photos are the only photos that save in the captured library and are the only videos or photos that will capture, along with Pano front facing, SLO-mo videos , and time-lapse videos. 3rd party apps like Snapchat, can capture and save photos from its app both forward and rear facing, but your built-in Camera app has bugs. If it was a hardware issue, no apps would be able to capture anything. I didn’t start having camera issues until Apple rolled out newer iOS versions. Note: the previous review about an iOS version update which rendered the camera hardware incompatible, was resolved when the next version rolled out. That’s already proof that the problem is within the software not hardware.
I love the app because there is no adds, no Wi-Fi needed and many more reasons! I lot of other apps that involve taking your picture, have backgrounds and frames and stuff like that. This is a classic! Sometimes it’s hard to record based on what you are recording or the situation. The noise isn’t the best either. Only because it sounds different and whenever you move the camera it makes the sound that you hear when your in a wind storm or something. I’m just saying the problems but otherwise the app is amazing. Usually it’s one of the first apps you have, but this is for anyone who deleted it and didn’t mean to delete it or something and they want to get it back. My favorite mode is slow-mo. It’s funny and fun to use. The only problem about slow-mo is that at the beginning and end, for a split second it’s normal if not fast. I also like how you can change the lighting. If you need a picture app I really recommend it. Thanks for reading!
Macro photos are the worst on iPhone 15 pro max. Flower photos look horrific, over digitized and filtered. Also, just took a bunch of photos of the ocean, the same ocean I always photograph over the years and in the display the photos look colorful, bright clear, beautiful then when I go back to view in photos they look dark and pixilated as if I used an ancient flip phone!! If they don’t change this dreadful feature they will begin to lose market share. Macro photos look like they’re straight up watercolor paintings or comic book cartoon art. They’re too digitized and automatically filtered. iPhones are worse than their competitors now. I upgraded from iPhone 12 Pro Max to iPhone 15 Pro Max. Huge mistake!! The 12PM took amazing photos and now the 15PM is painful and depressing to use. Don’t buy it!! It’s the worst camera app. It’s as if Apple now uses the absolute worst camera app technology. The camera adds horrific filters and automatic edits that can’t be turned off! We no longer have creative control of our own photography when using the iPhone camera!!
OK let’s just say I love it I need it everyone needs it you should have it if you look at this with you get it OK if you don’t have it get it it’s probably free and I will try it with my phone number but still you need to get it I love it you will love it ever would love it so all of it because you know people need to take pictures and memories that you don’t have to keep in your brain like extra storage for your brain can you too many pictures you just like you have too many pictures of them so then I just let it go through but you know even the camera camera is amazing just get it OK thank you much ok now months later it is not on my Home Screen lol and I have shut my iPad off and turn it on and then swipe to the right so I can’t just click camera I literally have to shut it off which makes no sense
I upgraded to the iPhone 13 pro from my iPhone XR and the camera is far worse. You take these nice videos but if you try to view it anywhere but the photos app it comes out over saturated and un-detailed. Looks like an entirely different picture and looks awful, worse than my iPhone XR. And you cannot screenshot, edit, send or do anything to the video because it automatically applies this weird effect/filter/edit whatever it is. I’ll literally be looking at a still of my video and looks nice so I screenshot and it instantly warps the screenshot into a dull and over saturated picture. The whole point of the screenshot is to take a picture exactly of what’s on the screen. You can’t use your videos or pictures for Instagram or anything. Literally only to show someone in person since sending/posting or anything messes with your content. I’m looking into returning my phone because it literally force-edits your photos and videos to look like awful watercolor pictures off a flip phone. The deception is terrible
I switched from the iPhone 8 to the iPhone 11. On the iPhone 8, the camera was good. It had nice quality and settings. The iPhone 11 is even better when it comes to those very same categories. Unfortunately, that’s not what this is about. The iPhone 11’s camera flash is a problem, u like the iPhone 8. It, the 11, has a flash that is too bright. When you use the flash of a camera, you expect it to nicely light the surrounding area for a good photo in the dark or wherever you may be. That is not the case with the iPhone 11’s camera flash. The camera flash causes the entire photo to be white. You can see the surrounding area or maybe even the person you took a picture of but it’s bright. The person in the photo’s entire physique is so illuminated and not them due to the flash. I simply wish there was a way to adjust the brightness of the camera’s flash. Something similar to the way we can adjust the brightness of our flashlights in the settings but noooo
I spent more than a thousand dollars on my iPhone 15 pro max, and it has the worst camera I’ve ever used. Don’t get me wrong, the hardware is impressive and it’s possible to get beautiful photos. But the automatic filtering and AI processing ruins fine details in almost every picture I take, and Apple says there’s no way to turn it off. But that’s obviously a lie because I can switch my file type to RAW and get the unprocessed original photos. And if you’re quick, you can actually open the photos app and WATCH your phone apply the filtering after displaying the unprocessed pic. Why can’t I save a normal jpeg of an unfiltered shot? The locked down, walled-garden approach is actively hurting the consumers here. Why is apple so afraid that people might be able to get what they want? Add an option to have the unfiltered pictured. Let me turn off the automatic filtering, let me turn off the AI upscaling. I’m wildly disappointed that my experience has been this frustrating. I will not be purchasing another apple product.
You don’t even have to look at this just get the app
It’s good so that’s a start NO COMPLAINTS that’s a start NO ADS which sounds weird but I know some cameras have ads unless you get premium like "Oh one dollar a week that’s all" now you might be able to fool a three year old but probably not ages 4+ anyone can delete that and get this app it’s free you can edit videos take pictures of the most wildest things and even do slow motion and time lapse videos you can add highlights etc. By the way I don’t have Grammarly are whatever so my typing might not be the best but anyways please kick camera you won’t regret it 😊 you can really tell that I like this game because I’m up at 11:32 PM just to tell you about it have fun with Camera and enjoy the ride!
I’ve always loved my iPhone camera. Since the first iPhone I got, I haven’t had another phone since. Always iPhones. Always loved the camera….until recently… I updated my iOS just before 16 came out I think. So I downloaded 15.7 and since then my camera hasn’t worked. The front camera (selfie mode) works fine. The back camera works, because it works in other apps like Tiktok. But whenever I try to just use the regular camera app, like I loyally, always have, I can’t take the pictures!! Only if I want to take it from the selfie camera. I’ve tried all the “tricks” I’ve found. NONE of them work. The only ones I haven’t tried are reset the phone completely, or tried updating the iOS. I don’t really want to because I’ve seen people having this issue since getting iOS 16 as well…..come on Apple! Stop changing whatever you did, cuz you messed up your very dependable camera!
Previously the quick action camera from Lock Screen didn’t open, then miraculously started working this week after a recent update. All camera systems seemed perfect. Then on 11/3 the external lens displayed a black screen, first observed in Chase app’s Deposit Check feature. Further investigation reveals all external lenses are black screen and click button doesn’t work. Followed standard guidelines like checking for more software updates (then updated to iOS 17.1) and restarting device. Then, the external lens screen shows a blurry selfie with no click button; can then restart app and regain click button but still black screen. Software seems to be struggling to flip between internal and external lenses. Please fix software!
In today’s world, everything is so high pace and instantaneous. Somethings good somethings bad nonetheless when the camera is absolutely necessary, there needs to be a way to instantaneously activate it in the mode that is required for the moment. Obviously, you have your quick key on the lock screen, but that still may not be fast enough to activate the camera in the necessary mode. That said, I think Apple should consider allowing Siri to activate the camera on the iPhone. For example, I should be able to say hey Siri start recording and instantly have my camera in recording mode as well as beginning to record. Thank you for taking the time to read my review, and I hope it doesn’t mean they can be considered.
It is inexcusable that Apple doesn’t allow you to pause/resume video recording. The ability to pause/resume isn’t even a feature it’s a basic functionality that every smart phone of the last 10 years offers. So if I want to make a video walking the dog in the park, I have to record the entire walk, or take loads of short clips that I have to edit later. This type of situation comes up often, such as cooking, exercising, street scenes, etc. Most people don’t want to open a project and splice short videos together to make one video which could have easily been done if there was a pause/resume option. Allowing basic functionality does not clutter up the interface, or make anything look bad, so Apple, please add a pause button, (and while you’re at it, offer this on the voice recorder too).
In addition it has an ARkit. My phone has never been fixed nor have my camera. My IOS is upto date running 17.2.1. I’m unsure why my camera does not work properly. You spend a lot of money on IPhones for security and I can say with hesitation security is not secure. I know that Google, edge, meta, iCloud, one drive are all being compromised on my device. My phone is being controlled via iCloud and wireless device. I have 3 ipv6 addresses and no vpn is being used….several data companies that can be used with selection as if my e-sim is being used I am not using that as well…. Hub spot, DevTools, beta programs are being used to compromise my phone the use of accessibility. Health data, maps are also being used. I hope they come up with a better system especially using the Apple Store etc. anyone know what is happening. Also I can no longer screen card it states photos or instagram?
I don’t know why you cropping my smiles my face being halfway in the picture my whole bodies being cropped out the picture. And if your not doing it you know who is. I’m not the only person complaining about the picture you cropping it the way you want it. But your app has me arguing with my girl cause she thinks Im tripping. I would appreciate it if you leave my pictures and videos alone. I don’t know what apple has against me but I’ve not ever talked to a lawyer but if all this stuff keeps paralyzing me in shock I’m going to have a stroke or heart attack lol but no really please leave my pictures alone. If you have to crop them, then do that, but quit cropping my body and face and smiles. I’m not even going to send your app a bad rating.
So I know that Apple tries to make things accessible to blind people to the best of their personal ability. But this time with the new update, the camera isn’t really accessible. It is, but it isn’t. The worst part is that when you go to trim a screen recording, it won’t let you trim it you can trim it, but it won’t really trim. Then, when you go to press done it won’t let you do it. It’s really annoying, because I use this feature a lot. I’ve always loved the camera, but another thing that I’ve dealt with as a blind person is usually it would tell me when it was like on portrait or landscape, and it won’t even tell me that anymore. So now it’s a harder thing. I love this camera, the other ones on the App Store don’t really work for me, but this one usually does. I don’t really know why this is happening, but it’s kind of irritating because I screen record things for my videos.
Three feature requests: 1) time lapse speed control. Time lapse mode automatic stability is amazing, but why does it fix its length to 10 seconds? Why not give a slider that directly controls the playback speed and not just decide what is best for the user? Terrible. I love time lapses, but the time fix makes this unusable. 2) 360 degree panoramas. The panorama mode takes the highest resolution pans I have ever seen. But it doesn’t get a full rotation. At max it gets like 270* of rotation. Just make it a wraparound already. 3) photo sphere capture. It would be great to have a mode that will help you make a photo sphere and stitch it on-device. I have to use a third-party app in order to do photo spheres. Google has already beaten you to the punch, by the way, as they have integrated photo sphere capture into the default camera app on their Pixels. I am seriously considering throwing my iPhone XR away and getting a Google Pixel for the sole reason that the Pixel cameras are way better than iPhone cameras. Never mind that iPhones have way more polishing in their GUIs, never mind that iPhones have way more powerful processors than competitor phones of the same price. The camera, in my and many others’ opinion, is the main selling point of the smartphone. Basically, pick up your game.
I have been taking videos and photos forever and it feels so good to just get into it. The main thing is that when I go to video it just shows the hdr and live and how much you would use for your videos. I would love it if you get very creative with the background. I just do not want to show myself in those videos. If you change it into different variations of backgrounds and special effects, it could help with future videos for me to talk about different topics that I would cover in video. Not everyone has a topic so if you look at my review, you should respond pretty soon rather than later thanks
My camera is constantly focusing and then unfocusing over and over again. No matter what mode I select the camera continuously will focus for a quarter of a second and the unfocus, just to refocus again. Over and over again without end. I don’t know to do. Even when I cover the camera lens with my fingers to block all light the camera still does it. Not sure what to do. (Amazing camera when it worked tho) ————————————————- Update: (1 minute has passed) my phone shut itself down and restarted after I went back into the camera app. The camera now works fine! Cool to see self correcting software! ❤️
I have a IPhone 12, and I updated my phone to iOS 16 about four days ago. Before the update my camera was working perfectly fine. Since the update, my cameras are showing a blank black screen, not allowing me to capture my precious moments in life.. I have tried to use have this issue resolved by using Apple support but the solutions given are not working… I think it’s really a software problem because my Face ID works perfectly. I hope it’s starts working soon because my birthday is within the next month😔.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASEEE MOVE THE CANCEL BUTTON🙏😭 the number of times I tried to hit the “undo” button because I’ve made a line I didn’t want and then accidentally hit cancel and ALL my work was undone😭😭 maybe instead of moving the button add a confirmation so that I don’t throw all my work away 🥺 it’s because the undo button is RIGHT NEXT to the cancel so I just hit it on accident🤷♀️ I DONT EVEN HAVE BIG FINGERS AND SO I ALWAYS JUST SIT IN DISAPPOINTMENT BECAUSE IM LIKE WHY DID YOU JUST DO THAT😭😫 anyway if you could pleaseeeee change this it would save me and probably others a LOT of time THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION, -someone who has to much time on their hands😢 P.S. other than that it’s great 😜 4 stars tho bc my whole post is abt this one thing sry
I bought a new iphone 13 pro max and using the latest IOS. I found the camera software works very weird. Whenever I switch to the video mode, the entire screen becomes super bright, so is the record video. If I record a moving object such as a running baby, the video may become blurry suddenly and takes a few seconds to go back to normal. When taking photos, the camera randomly switches between its three cameras and sometimes it zoomed out the 1x camera instead of using the 3x directly, and the photos look noisy. In general I am very disappointed to buy such an expensive iPhone which cannot even take videos. Why such a giant company cannot even fully test your software before releasing it? I have contacted the customer service and it took me nearly an hour but still cannot figure out why. I am a little mad, to be honest.
For some reason my iPhone 13 mini’s camera hasn’t been able to take pictures. When I open the app it’ll be normal for a second but when I either press the bottom or even do nothing, the shot shown through the camera will freeze on the shot and then blurr and then unfreeze and this just repeats. I have tried completely turning off my phone and restarting it but it never works in the end. It started working again for like 2 weeks a little bit ago but recently it started doing the thing again. I literally don’t know what’s wrong and what to do, it’s so inconvenient. I think it might actually just be a problem with my phone instead of the camera app but this is still extremely annoying and seems the app useless until it stops doing the freezing thing again.
☀️Hello, I’m 9 years old, and I love taking photos because I love making toy videos, and taking funny pics of myself! I love how you can edit photos, and if you take a pitch black picture, then you can use the art things, and draw on it! You can take photos with your family, and just really have fun with it! The only complaint I have is…☀️ ☀️NO COMPLAINTS! Tricked ya! Lol! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Anyways, this thing is pretty cool! You could also send photos to your friends that you haven’t seen in awhile. Oh wait, I’m talking about photos. But still. It’s connected to photos so it sends the photo to photos! Okay byyyyyye! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️💓💓💓😃😃😃☀️
My camera isn’t even working. I just recently updated my software and my camera is fine there’s no cracks in it at all i had it checked. Yet recently for the last few months i can’t zoom in without the whole frame going white on anything. Even when i zoom in a little bit it will show little cracks but i had it looked at and my camera isn’t even cracked. Now i can’t even take pictures the button works once and it makes the sound of me taking the picture but the picture doesn’t actually get taken it doesn’t save to my camera roll or anything and after i go out and back into the camera the frame is black and i can’t even click the button to take a picture or video.
I just upgraded from an 8 plus to the 14 plus and was shocked to find that my 8 took IMMENSELY better photos than the 14. The lenses on the 14 are fine, the issue is the HORRIBLE auto enhancements the phone adds to pictures. The photos end up looking nothing like the photo you took. Selfies on the phone make me look like I have a mustache and skin condition. You take a photo, then click on that photo and can watch it completely destroy the photo with weird sharpening, contrast, and hdr effects that you did not want, cannot adjust, and cannot turn off. If you must include this feature PLEASE at least allow us to turn it off and keep the original photo we actually took. If this does not change, I will definitely no longer be an apple customer.
When you take a picture and then lock the phone while listening to music you can not adjust the music volume. You have to unlock the phone and close the camera app. Same is true if just looking at photos and then lock. It’d be nice to see this big fixed in one the hundreds of updates someday!!! Outside of that the camera has come a long ways from the old days! Just annoying when you are listening to music and forgot to close the camera out and you have no control of the volume via buttons or Bluetooth headphones. Try it and you will see.
Like one guy says they are now designing stuff based on the person who is doing the designing not based on who is going to be actually using the app. So they are incapable of being in the shoes who is going to the one using the app. The person who design the app the average person is not going to be in the head of the designer and the designer is not going to be in the head of the average person. Digital cameras were a lot simpler now they put so much stuff into them that it is not automatically run on the basic stuff and no longer intuitive to know how make it operate like simple digital cameras when they first came out. The western culture has gotten to a point where it itself has become the problem.
Everybody in my family has this wonderful app! you can take videos pictures and everything! i’ve read some of the reviews and they were horrible. A lot of people say that they don’t like this amazing app. I think that everyone in the world should have the Camera app. you can take A bunch of pictures! five years later you can’t remember any memories that happened. quickly you have pictures that you took so I can restore your memory! if you’re reading this review, GET THIS APP!!!! it will change your life!
Thank you for your effort in improving and adding new features to the camera app, yet some features are either lost with the new iOS 16 update or are not functioning on my iPhone 11 Pro! The mirroring of the front camera does not work although it has been set in the phone settings; I used to love using my life taken photos as a Lock Screen wallpaper, that doesn’t work with the latest update anymore, and makes me feel losing part of my personalization of my iPhone! Thank you!
Pics look good until you click capture. But as soon as you actually take the picture, Apple’s ridiculous post processing (that you can’t turn off) makes your pictures look awful. It’s really bad if you’re taking a picture of yourself or loved ones. My bf and I were taking pictures and then comparing the photos to how we actually look in real life. It’s almost comical what the post processing does to peoples faces — makes you look gray, overly sharpens flaws/things you wouldn’t see in real life, deepens every shadow on a persons face. Camera app was good on my 11 pro, didn’t do this. Not sure why there is such a massive downgrade in quality when using this app on the iPhone 14 pro, it is a shame and I hope Apple fixes this.
At the same time. The camera is good and the videos. The edits are good (I’m pretty young and have an hand me down phone 8) cuz no automatic changes. But I wish u could delete old photos without needing to go to a different app. You still can delete stuff but not all at a time. And you have to scroll to look at old funny pictures like when my doge was a pup. But otherwise this app is good though I might be going I highly recommend this app. To the developer… Dear Person who made this, good thinking it is a good app, pls look into what I’ve said and my older sister complains about the automatic changes like some other people said. If you could fix this it would change a lot for A LOT of people! ALSO (early) MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎄🎁🎄🎁 🎄🎁 (Or any holiday you celebrate) 👍❄️ So if you fix these things for not just me you will change a lot thx for reading this random people have a nice day!
There seems to be a bug in the Apple camera app. I have the iPad Pro 12.9, 16 gigs of ram with 1 Terabit of storage. In portrait mode my camera only shows selfi mode. All other modes have the option to change from Front to back camera. Go to the portrait mode and the option to change cameras does not show up. WTH. I’ve rebooted ipad, check in settings etc. Also, I’ve compared with my iPhone 13 pro, my phone in portrait mode shows the option to change camera from fron selfi to rear normal cameras it has no issue. Ipad and iPhone firmware are up to date. There are no other issues I can see besides the problem with the rear facing camera on this ipad not working in portrait mode.
I love this app and it has given great memories and has even brought some old ones back to life. But on to the point, I had an idea the other day that Apple should hold a contest every year for people to send in their favorite and best photos for them to pic the best ones. Maybe the top 3 could even get prizes (new products, gift cards, money, etc). Don’t you think this would be amazing, you should really do this!!! Apple you have to let me know if you end up doing this! Thank you
Opened the app, switched to video mode, and pressed the red button to record abuse. But even though I pressed the red button, it didn’t record. Found out that even though the app shows the red recording button, you have to wait to press it for an undetermined amount of time. And even though I was in video mode for minutes, it didn’t even store a “prerecord”, even though I had more than enough space. Even if I hadn’t pressed the red button, why would I open the camera app, switch to video, and leave it there for minutes if I didn’t want my phone to be recording something? On a $700+ dollar phone, when I needed one of the most basic functions the most, it failed me. 1 out of 5.
You are building your marketing on the base of how great is your cameras are but with this new iPhone 14 pro 48 megapixel camera that everyone striving to update to, the processing of this camera app is just horrible and ruins all the experience my old iPhone XS made better pictures than my new iPhone 14 pro max, all because of this stupid issue with the processing and filtering, the picture look good in the viewfinder when you try to make it, but when you open it you can see those filters that was applied by iPhone automatically making this picture looks horrible and you have to fix it ASAP since many people has this problem and since iPhone cost too much money for this idiotic issues to deal with..
I have an iPhone 13, so far this app works really well. Very user friendly features. However at critical moments when I pull up the app to take pictures or most commonly, take videos, I find that the camera will stop too early in the shoot. I mean I was feet from a critical event and I failed to record just because the app stopped recording too early. And maybe it was me who pressed the red square to stop recording. My thing is there should be a lock button or an emergency mode so that the phone doesn’t stop.
but out of the blue my camera can’t turn around anymore I don’t even know how it happened but I can even turn it around anymore. I missed out on taking what could of been my best photos ever but I could not because I can’t turn my camera around like for example I missed out on taking a picture of the northern lights in Oregon! That will never happen again from where I am currently at I don’t think dropping my phone will affect me not being able to turn my camera around because that is not the case my camera lens are in perfect condition not even a single scratch I don’t see how it does not work anymore
recently shattered my iphone 8 and decided it was time to finally upgrade my phone. all the reviews online said that the iphone 13 had apple's best camera and, as someone who enjoys taking photos of tiny moments throughout their day, i was immediately enticed. oh, how i regret that decision. the auto-enhancement feature is absolutely terrible and renders the camera unusable. the back camera photos are extremely crunchy and harsh- editing everything i take like a middle schooler on 2012 instagram. the front camera photos are overly smooth and flat- making me look like i've put every selfie through a beauty filter 10x. i don't want auto-enhancement, i don't want what apple's ai system or whatever this is thinks is best. i want reality and what i wish to capture. why apple has chosen to create a phone with its most high tech camera but not to allow its users to turn off this hideous function i will never understand. i'm seriously contemplating returning this phone and switching to another brand just so that i have a normal camera again.
Have always LOVED the native camera app. Far better than many of the camera systems svailable out there. Don’t know why it has such a low rating, but probably because people just love to gripe and complain about everything. If people couldn’t complain, they would complain about that. This camera does it all, and picture and video quality is top notch, and file sizes are very small and of Very Good quality. Thanks Apple for such a great and free app!👍
First of all ever one use a camera on there phone and it’s very great to Take pictures or anything time I want to take pictures… I have an iPhone 12 and I love the zero point 5 on my phone it zooms out on everything and has a clear view it also lets me take screen shot of things from a video so I can get my perfect picture that I wanted. I love the camera it’s very good and I use it all the time to take videos and take pictures with my friends
Please give option to disable HDR on iPhone 13 mini
Dear Apple, I’ve been a long-time fan of your camera app, and it has been my go-to camera app for years. However, with iOS 15, I am unable to disable HDR on my iPhone 13 mini. We used to have the ability to turn this off. Some might like the look of HDR, but many - myself included - find the images garish, oversaturated, and unnatural-looking. Please give us the option to turn off HDR. If given the option back, I am glad to change my review to 5-stars, which this app rightfully deserves. For now I’ll be using a third-party app, or downgrading to an iPhone 12, until corrected. Thanks for reading this and considering our request. Best, David
Way over-sharpened photos, but some great features
I just upgraded from a XS to iPhone 15 pro, looking forward to the improvements in the camera. I’m very disappointed in how much standard photos are post processed by the default camera. Photos look fake and over processed with their sharpening and HDR. It would be nice if you could change those settings to make the photos look more natural. Other than that, the camera app itself is pretty good. It’s kind of annoying to switch between the modes, but there’s so much functionality on the cameras I can tolerate it.
For some reason, on the 12 and 13 Pro series, the Camera app wants to use the regular 1x camera, and do a 3x crop instead of just using the telephoto camera. This leads to photos having a weird, waxy, "oil painting" effect, as the noise reduction algorithm overcompensates for the heavily cropped photo. Using a 3rd party camera app on the exact same device, which uses the actual telephoto camera, the results are so much better. It would be fantastic if Apple could give an option to disable this feature, especially since these phones are dubbed "Pro" models.
I have both 12 and 13 Pro Max phones and the quality of the pictures are worse than my 5s. With the new update iOS 15, I’m able to see all the information of the picture taken with the iPhones original camera app and turns out its taking 9 Megapixel photos instead of 12MP. I also miss the feature where you’re able to turn off HDR settings, now it’s integrated every time you take pictures and they come out washed out. The HDR on the 5s throughout the XS was perfectly fine, like they say, don’t fix what’s not broken. Apple really going backwards with these updates smh

I love this app, and if you like to take selfies this is the right app for you! I do have to say that there are a few disturbances from here to there but other then that this app is great. A problem i find a bit annoying is when my storage is almost full so therefore it doesn’t allow me to take pictures, it is absurd! Other then these disturbances this app is great, and i would definitely recommend downloading it..
I think Camera should add a feature where there’s transparency in the photo. See I’m an artist and I like to take pictures a lot so I was thinking if I could trace the pictures I have. I know they’re some apps that already do that but I have to pay.. so this feature would help tons!! Not saying Camera is bad it’s really not just there’s room for improvement and lots of out there ideas! Hope you consider!!😊
It’s one of the reasons why I’m selling my iPad Pro 12.9’’. When I’m in stage mode and I’m trying to resize the window which has only two option and it doesn't matter if you are in landscape or portrait mode. But the main issue with iPad and it’s camera app is when you resizing camera window it’s changing it’s position image which is dumb! How should I look at myself through the camera lens if the entire image is turned on its side, that is, 90 degrees? It’s completely unusable!!! You can’t achieve with this thing a simple task. For example video recording yourself and having a open note app which your notes or other apps!
