Band Boosters

We started using Cheddar Up about a year ago for our high school band booster group. WOW, has this been easy to use and a game changer for collecting funds & fees!! The developer has also been extremely open to making changes based on user feedback. I noted that we could not previously control “manager” access the way we wanted to at the individual campaign level. At the next version update, it was fixed! The app is very straightforward for simple campaigns yet powerful & flexible for complex ones.

Beyond impressed!!

I am blown away by how easy this app was to use, how well they explained their system, and how perfectly it worked. I organized my high school reunion and this app made it seamless to not only collect funds for the event but also easily collect survey answers those attending! I am recommending it to all my friends! This is the app you want if you need to organize collections/info for an event.

Convenient

Update: I spent at least half an hour on a form that DISAPPEARED when I closed a pop-up window informing me that I would need to upgrade my account if I wanted to save a second form. I couldn’t even copy my text to paste into a Google Form instead. It was GONE. Not cool. Great app with good customer support. I just wish they would take a cue from other businesses like Canva and offer free or discounted Pro and/or Team membership to verified 501(c)(3) organizations. (Some of us are actually quite small and can’t afford $10 or $30 per month but could *really* do a lot of good with the option to have multiple Board members managing collections with >5 items.)

Issues with program

During my Sample Sale on Sunday night there were major Issues with the program! When a customer would make a purchase it would only mark some items as Sold Out and not other items. And would allow multiple customers to put the same item in their cart when there was only 1 in inventory! I had to go in during the sale and Hide items that were purchased so they couldn’t be bought again. I now have to refund these customers for the duplicate orders. It is a mess and confusing and was extremely stressful! So disappointed in Cheddar Up and can’t trust the program!

Best Ever

Cheddarup has changed the way our PTA operated. we are much more efficient and our sales are having bigger returns because people can pay online. the reports are fantastic! and the customer service is incredible, they respond to questions quickly and politely and when there is an issue they address it immediately.

Game Changer

This program has made running our program’s finances with MOPS so extremely easy. It keeps track of everything we need and is user friendly for members to pay fees with ease. I’m so grateful we were able to use this as it has lightened the load significantly for our finance coordinator. Thank you Cheddarup!

Colossal Pain

Somehow we have taken simple field trip and school activities to a new and frighteningly complex and convoluted level for payments. This app is slow and takes too long to do simple tasks. There was no need to add this in addition to PaymentsPlus for the same district, yet it’s one more aggravating platform to enter too much personal info, take 20 minutes, and get charged for the transactional experience. Home schoolers are getting their monies worth being off platforms like this. Cheddar down and cheddar out.

CheddarUp gives so many options for our neighbors, we love it!

A lot of times you need to be able to catch up later, CheddarUp allows the use of credit and quick point and click options.

Wedding vacation

I rented out villas to Villa estate in Costa Rica I need to collect money from family members over a span of the year this made it easy for those who didn’t have the cash on hand to pay by credit card so I can then gather 30,000 worth of fund’s n keep track

Easy to use!

I was reluctant to try cheddar up at first because I thought Google forms would be easier, but cheddar up and the app are very easy to use to keep track of event registrations and lots of information.

Buggy App and Website

Site lagged while creating account but I finally got to work. Unfortunately it froze when I started to create a collection - I downloaded the app while waiting for the site to catch up. Unfortunately had to shut the browser and re-start, needed to login again. Except the logo and password I had just set up was now not working. Clicked on the link to reset password and waited for the reset email that never arrived. Gave it a shot, but sadly it disappointed. Uninstalled.

Poor Customer Support

I recently signed up for their Pro tier because I’m collecting money for a family reunion. Everything was fine until I actually needed to transfer money from Cheddar Up to my bank account. The issue has been going on since early April and it still hasn’t been resolved. I’ve contacted their customer support but apparently if the issue can’t be easily resolved in 1 or 2 emails they give up and leave you hanging. DO NOT use Cheddar Up. Save yourself the trouble and use PayPal or Cash App.

Great app for tournaments

I used this for an annual Fishing tournament I was worried about how it would interface with the people signing up Outcome was NO complaints and very easy to use Nice work and will be using this app next year!!!

Used to be flawless, now not so much

I use this app almost daily. Before the last update it was excellent. Smooth, easy to use and fast. It now is a headache. Pictures don’t load unless I do one at a time, save them and then go back to add another one, notifications don’t work, emails aren’t syncing. It’s a mess. I’m not sure what changes were made but it’s very frustrating.

Why do you need my photo

I am VERY concerned that I was only able to withdraw funds from this account after providing my government ID and a photo. There should be a dollar threshold whereby this would be required. I had $70 sitting dormant in this account after I collected for my child’s class as a class parent and sharing this personal information was a requirement for me to withdraw from the account. This is unacceptable.

Fantasy Football League

Are FFL always struggle to get someone to collect all the cash for the League. Cheddar Up made it really easy. We’ll be using Cheddar Up again for sure!

Excellent tool for picking up funds

You can’t beat this tool for picking up funds from large groups of people. I am using it to facilitate a 20 year reunion at work. It could not be more simple.

Disappointed

I joined Cheddar Up to organize teacher holiday gifting. I felt that it was difficult to ascertain the amount Cheddar up skimmed off the top, confusing to use and most damningly very difficult to withdraw money. The app ended up not working at all to withdraw, my request for help was unsatisfactory and because I couldn’t access a computer had to cover the gifts from my own bank account. Do not use this app!

Great for Girl Scout unit

Easy to use. Able to add forms and personalize them. Great for collecting for our big events. Would highly recommend

Buggy

For the most part the app runs pretty smoothly but I’ve noticed a ton of bugs. You cannot set a quantity amount, I am unable to delete options after I have saved them etc

This app is awesome! Their fees are a little higher than PayPal but they offer so much to make life easier! It’s worth the hours saved!

Do not use

This app worked very good and was simple to setup. However the next day my account was closed by Cheddar with an email stating the decision was final and not up for debate. All the sales were refunded. All the merchandise that was sold is now gone without payment. So use at your own risk.

Bugs not fixed

Used the app last weekend worked great. Did the update and now with every transaction I have to relogin and sometimes we have to do it 3-4 times before it will allow us to check out.

Beware

The scan feature does not work. Appears to still be in beta testing. There is a 6.5% fee added to the transactions. The swiper is cheap and won’t stay in the port if you have a case on your phone.

Buggy version

Out kid’s school is making use of this app. Trying to set up address is currently buggy, with the app not accepting address input with weird errors about state vs provinces even though our zip is in the U.S.

Abusive fees

Doesn’t allow to have small donations for charity reasons. From 1 dollar donation you take out 0.99. I will remove my account of Cheddar up
