I have personally talked to their repair people.. they are forced to tell choice what is wrong with the appliance isn’t covered .. if they recommend to replace .. choice won’t give them work.. they don’t care .. all they care about is getting that 75 dollars for a service call for doing nothing .. one person.. said they pay their monthly rent with just the service call money.. they never replace anything because choice won’t pay them anything for actually doing anything.. they only stay with them for the 75 dollar service calls .. anther service person said .. if they are allowed to change out a water heater .. choice provides them with a cheep horrible water heater they wouldn’t never recommend.. and choice allows them to make up repairs to the customer for $567.. to help pay for the labor to install it since they pay so horrible .. when they do a service call.. they will only change out a thermocouple on a water heater if that doesn’t work .. they won’t do anything else unless it’s a change out .. and choice provides the water heater .. they won’t buy anything expensive because choice won’t pay them for it.. we were charged 500 to fix corrosion on a gas pipe on a water heater .. we took pictures before and after .. they never touched a gas pipe .. that explains the bogus charges choice allows them to charge .. save your money .. replace your own stuff .. not worth it at all.. joke of a company..
So I canceled them in July and have been getting emails and calls to rejoin I never did. I usually keep my credit card locked but yesterday I was paying bills and then when I came home to buy food I put my credit card in and noticed that it was declined so I wondered why I went back to my transactions and I seen that choice home warranty had charged me $75 I called to talk about the ordeal and a refund. I’m on SSDI I get paid once a month I spoke with the representative named Iman who told me that she believed that my account has not been touched and that my policy had not been cancelled I asked her was she calling me a liar she told me no but your account has not been touched the rep you talked to was in sales so the $75 sticks she said it so nasty I called her a name and hung up called my credit card company to dispute the charges. Iman called me back I told her we have not to discuss unless it’s for refund and cancel my contract she said yes then got loud with me and said very nasty as I said before you account hasn’t been touched so the $75 sticks you will not will not get any refund I hung up. This company is terrible I’ll never recommend them to anyone since they steal money and have harassing customer service representatives.
Choice home warranty has proven to be the most fraudulent company I have encountered. We had a technician come out to assess our AC. He identified the problem and the cause of the problem to be “normal wear and tear.” Unfortunately, choice home warranty denied our claim stating the coil had been “physically damaged due to misuse, abuse, neglect, or physical damage.” This is a blatant lie and misrepresentation of contractual agreements set forth by choice home warranty. We initiated an appeal; however, conveniently the representative isn’t available over the weekend. We have an infant and 3 dogs and live in south Florida. We cannot be without AC while this company fiddles around with nonsense. Whatever you do, DO NOT take a warranty with this company. They are liars, fraudsters, and an absolute disgrace to the American people. I will be contacting the BBB (where they already have a horrible C rating). Additionally, I hope to share my experience so the rest of American consumers stay away!
Do not sign up with this company! They will send you one of the worse rated contractors that’s probably on Angie’s list. I’m actually afraid they will make things worse when they send someone so I don’t even use them for major issues. In addition, it’s not gureenteed they will find someone to fix your issue. I was told this by the case manager when trying to get my leaking water heater fixed. It’s suppose to take 24-48 hrs, but he said it can take months is what he told me. I was told this after my 48hrs expired. So if you’re in a jam, I think this warranty is useless. In addition when you are scheduled, the people assign usually don’t show up or cancel. This is an extremely unreliable warranty provider. I’m so surprise this company is still in operation. Truly a scam to take your money and not provide any service. Run!
Company is a scam. They deny major appliance claims due to “outside of normal wear and tear” or claim you haven’t done “regular maintenance” on the appliance and that is why it needs replacing. So they end up denying your claim. Do not purchase. It took a month for a technician to come once or twice, not show up for appointments, in the heat of summer to fix my AC. Had to sleep in the basement to keep cool. The company ended up denying the claim after a month after the tech had already replaced parts. Had to find new technicians and purchase a new AC on my own. Showed that the Choice tech had introduced the “foreign contaminants” they claimed were calling a blockage in the AC line only after their tech had replaced a part and they still denied the claim and said that the tech was the one responsible and I had to work that out with them. The tech never responded again.
I’ve dealt with this company for 3 years now and there won’t be a fourth! They entice you to renew the policy by offering additional coverage for free…but you must track down the fine print. The so called “free” coverage doesn’t cover much. I recently filed a claim for a roof leak that should have been covered…but there’s a catch. They only cover shake and shingle roofs. My house and 90% of the homes in my area are tile, which of course, they don’t cover. You must remember, you’re dealing with attorneys who write these contracts for the benefit of the company, not you. Always read the fine print.
They send tech’s to your home that steal from you. Tell you that nothing is covered under the warranty. Then you call Choice and they tell you just to make a new claim to get all this resolved. So I made a new claim now I can’t get anything fixed because they told me you reached the limit on getting the pool fixed. They make sure you don’t get anything fixed they only get you guys who will put a bandage on your equipment or system no matter what you call them for repair. STAY AWAY FROM THEM NEVER BUY CHOICE HOME WARRANTY!
Choice is the worst home warranty I have ever seen it. They always have an excuse of not providing coverage by saying it is a maintenance issue especially if they see expense is going more than a hundred dollar. I would say more than $85 dollars service pay. Their claim system after denial is waste of your time. I paid $880 dollars for annual contract but I stopped calling them now because I will loose my $85 dollars for initial service request pay. I know I still have to call someone to pay them by myself.
So after 3 weeks waiting to find a tech in my area they send a confirmation that today 12/2 some company will show up and fix the issue I have it in my house. Contact the company CHW that they set up and it was coming to repair or replace it if necessary the furniture and they told that they don’t have it any order from CHW this is unacceptable and now CHW told that if I want it to find my own technician they will reimburse me within 30 days but the company I hire they have it to submitted the order.
This company is a total fraud. Even the tech they send will tell you the scam the tech so much that no one wants to take work orders from the . They penny pinch repair even after they are advised things need to be replaced by there techs. This app never seems to work and they have a low rating with BBB for complaints and is not accredited by them. Wish i had check prior to purchase by family recommend them however now say they will not be a returning customer.
I have raised a claim. They send a technician for diagnosis and collected service fee. He did not give any appointment to fix them. Later CHW sent another technician and again I have gone through all the issues with him for diagnosis. CHW sent me an appointment with the technician for repairs, but no one appeared during appointment time. I keep on following up on my claim with CHW from past one month, still no progress at all. All repairs are still open. Worst service.
This company is basically a scam. They will send some contractor for diagnosis, take your service call fee and then disappear. Then will force you to find own technician only to tell that nothing is covered. Stay away from them. The hassle and headache is not worth it. Never pay them in cash, pay by card so you can cancel the payment when they don't provide services.
One of the reasons I switch over to choice home warranty was… they said the call center where I called was going to based here in the USA.. come to find out it’s in the filipenses.. call techs are hard to understand and makes it very difficult to communicate.. Not cool when they lie to you Definitely would not recommend this home warranty Don’t be fooled
From the app to to their website to their product it all revolves around the selling of the warranty. Nothing else. Support terrible, the contractors that do the work are terrible. I have broken ice maker right now. They hired A&E Services to fix it. A&E ordered part and it was delivered to the house but no one can get A&E to answer the phone or call to schedule the appointment. 3 weeks and counting.
My AC stopped working since 3 weeks!! I created a ticket with them requested to send the technician since the day1. But no one showed up until now. They were keep saying same we are working with vendors to accept the ticket and schedule appointment. What kind of a company this is not getting an technician since 3 weeks. Total waste of money! I will be cancelling their service.
OMG this is the the worst home warranty company in the world. I saw the world because their claims department is routed through the Philippines. You can never get anything done through them. They nickel and dime you on everything. I have an AC claim for 8 months now!! Zero communication from their claim department, they don’t give a crap! Do not buy warranty from this company, you’ve been warned.
Refrigerator cannot be repaired and Choice Home Warranty is not even coming close to what a replacement will cost. They base their payout on a “hypothetical” determination rather than what a refrigerator will actually cost. Actual cost plus tax, you will pay out hundreds more than what they offer.
Nothing works on this app unless you push the find out more. They clearly only want sales to work. I can get into my account and have no idea. I can’t look at my account I can’t submit a claim. Apple take this off. It does not work
It’s hard to accomplish much of anything using the mobile app. The buttons rarely work to even get logged in. I got frustrated and just quit using it altogether. I’m just going to cancel my contract and go back to American Home Shield.
This app is about as good as CHW’s customer service. The app is unresponsive and poorly designed with a bad user interface layout. It is no surprise coming from CHW

Am visually impaired. Paid Choice Home Warranty approximately $900.00 for coverage. When I called in 2022, I paid co-pay for call to home, they took that money, too. No appliance has been repaired or replaced yet! Hey just rob even disabled people! They are nasty! Will not repair or replace what they say they will handle. Take all the money they can but DO NOT REPAIR OR REPLACE once the repair persons they choose tell them needs to be fixed! DISABLED AND SCAMMED IN TOTAL BY CHOICE HOME WARRANTY. They pay to be rated # 1! In reality, they cheat you out of your money and leave USA led persons in distress! Be warned! New Jersey should shut this pack of thieves down. Arizona is suing them for fraud if people in their state! DO NOT USE CHOICE HOMEE WARRANTY, if you don’t want to be ripped off!
Well I bought the coverage after my husband passed 2 years ago. I knew that it had been 10 years since we had remodeled our kitchen and things could start wearing out, especially since we bought all of our appliances at the same time . Well if I renew in December, it would be 3 years for me. What I didn’t like was my compressor went out in my refrigerator and sears service people came out contractors with them. Well this happened on Friday they didn’t get anyone out till Monday. Then they determined what was wrong with it and then ordered the part and I was another week before they come back out Tuesday to Tuesday. Well when you don’t have a proper food storage then a week is a very long time. They don’t have local contractors in my area like they probably do in the cities. When it comes to food storage and heating, I think it should be quicker and treated as quickly as possible. I had a second claim in for my heating system.no heat, no eat. Still not sure if I want to renew.. 🤨😕I’m glad I read some reviews. It will help in my decision making. And yes during this process they kept calling to set up my renewal. And I was like , let’s get my work done and then will talk in November. But they were more worried daily about renewing my contract then they were finding people to come out and service my appliances. Disappointed. But my stuff is working now.
I live on a fixed income so I count on my home warrant policy if something goes wrong or breaks. I am now going on 3 months without an oven. First they did a low ball offer. After discussing with case manager, they made much higher offer but still $1000 short on replacement cost.They won’t Expedite a check. After dealing with him for two months to be settled on a price then it’s another 30 days to get the check regardless which put me over the three month mark .They said they never guarantee replacement cost or anything towards installation. There are much better companies out there that will do an actual replacement cost along with labor. They are they bugging me to renew my policy yet they refused to honor there’s.
