Great way to learn an instrument
I learned to play piano using this app. I have learned 150+ songs in the 3 years or so I’ve been using this app. It’s a great way to give yourself small, achievable goals and learn to play an instrument one song at a time. Each new song will likely add a few new chords and after learning about 30-40 songs I had encountered every major and minor chord and become comfortable with them. Now, after 150+ songs, I have picked up a lot of music theory as well and been able to apply those tools to my own songwriting. I will note that this is not always accurate. It’s actually not too uncommon to encounter the wrong chords being given. But since you are playing along with the actual track, it is pretty easy to notice the spots where the chords are wrong. This can be a negative, however I feel that these occasional errors have helped improve playing by ear. The chords are usually right enough to orient you in a key, and if a chord here and there is wrong, you can figure out what’s needed by ear. Overall, great app! I’m sure I wouldn’t be at the level I’m at on piano without it!

I am a vocal coach who specializes in learning disabilities and I love this
This is a fantastic teaching tool. I I am a vocal coach and voice specialist who specializes in all kinds of things including ) PTSD trauma learning disabilities... brain damage you name it. Most of the time even the transitions of the keys if you’re going to transpose are right. If you’re an experience musician I suggest tapping it out on the piano just to make sure because computers aren’t always correct. One thing I would love especially when it comes to people who have visual learning disabilities in my studio is if there would be a way to put the app into a dark version? This would really help my studio and I think lots of other people who struggle with associating things visually. A darker screen would go along way and I think I would even be able to get some of my clients to sign up for the paid version like I am. Just a thought! Other than that it’s pretty fantastic. Really unique and useful app!
I love this app! Love that it shows chord finger diagrams for piano too. Love love love! Very happy and impressed I am. Not many other chord/tab apps support piano. I continually use this app to learn new songs everyday! Its surprising still that so many songs are chordified! And even multiple different live versions of the songs are chordified! That is impressive. And thank you to all that have contributed to chordify songs. Sure, not all songs are accurate, but there are so many other versions of the song to pick from. So it's all good. I have no complaints. In fact, it encourages me to chordify some songs that I know that aren't chordified yet. My only suggestion to the developers is: please add a feature that will allow the app to automatically pull up the song that is currently playing in my Apple Music. That would be very helpful and time-saving. Thank you!

Please add Dark Mode!
The app functions great for me, but my biggest complaint is the lack of dark mode. It's an app on a mobile device that has an illuminated display with a solid white background, so when using this app in a setting that isn't in a brightly sun lit room, it basically turns the phone into a spot light. The contrast makes the glare difficult to read on the screen if you're quickly looking back and forth at your hands on the instrument. And dimming the display makes it difficult to read the small note details. If even just an option to change the color scheme so a person could set the background to dark gray or whatever. Since I purchased a year subscription and am stuck with this app for now, I just screen shot notes and edit the image how I prefer, which completely eliminates the scroll function that this app provides. I won't be renewing since I can just find the same info online somewhere else, and will just live without the auto scroll.

Offline mode doesn't work
I love this app and have found it to be really helpful in learning to play the bass guitar. At the same time, I am really frustrated that offline mode doesn't work. Chordify won't play music files that reside on my iPad Air 2 unless I am online. I have provided screen prints and system logs to the developer. They tell me that the problem has only been reported on a very few devices. They don't seem to know the cause. I have offered to run whatever tracing/diagnostic tools they may wish to provide to better isolate the problem. But it just doesn't seem to be a priority to them. As a former software developer myself, I can't understand this attitude. If something is broken ... you figure out what the problem is and fix it. It's having pride in what you do.

Progression displays and PDFs, not ready for prime time
PDFs and in-app diagrams desperately need reworking. If someone were to put these displays and/or lead sheets (PDFs) in front of any serious musician, they’d either laugh at derisively while struggling to keep their place, or they would walk out of the session. Here’s why: standard lead sheets are four measures across. This, of course is owing to the fact that the majority of popular music sections are divisible by four (8, 12, 16, 32 bars). When this app renders a PDF that is a ludicrous 11 bars across the page, it is darn near impossible to use for either practice or rehearsal. I do get that section, navigation, and dynamic markers would be extremely challenging (programming – wise), but a standard four bars across, perhaps in a larger font, seems within reach, if not trivial. Other parts of the app are very helpful, but I’m sure I am not the only musician who finds the format of the progressions cumbersome and frustrating. The only other reservation I have so far, is that the analysis of songs that I’ve input so far don’t seem to recognize or honor slash chords. As a bass player who utilizes a fair bit of voice leading, I still have to rely solely on my ear to suss out what’s happening. I would do this anyway, so it’s a smaller concern by far then the formatting issue cited above. Thanks for your consideration.

Upgrades
The keys/chords it list on most videos are okay, however, is not great or prefect. When you want to print chords is just the chords and not the lyrics. When one selects the option to change the key either higher or lower it does it however if you try to follow along the video you playing is out of pitch. Meaning it will not sound right. Would be nice to be able to change pitch while changing keys to be able to follow along. Also why not give the option to be able to print with the lyrics. One last note is that you can add favorites but you can not organize them by any way. It would be nice to be able to have playlist and rate songs and be able to categorize songs for example song list 1 for a church member that needs to practice certain songs and so for. A lot of improvement to be done app is good but could be great especially since it’s a subscription based. Hope you take the tips, thanks.

Great app but I’m confused
This might be a long review this might be a short one I don’t know but I do know that I am severely confused on how to work this app. all I know how to do is search a song and listen to it. I came here from a video of Tate McRae, a singer and she said that she chose her song melodies and chords from this app but I don’t know what to do to make my own or to get ideas for a song. and all of the other reviews are talking about how great this app is when you wanna learn to play an instrument but I’m really confused on what to even do on this app. I’m gonna give it 3 stars because it doesn’t explain how to use the app (and don’t call me Karen for this it’s just my honest opinion and I think that they can improve on it.) Please answer my comment and tell me how to use this thing. also thanks for reading this long comment, it is a great app it just needs to be improved a little bit. ✌️Peace out fam!

Excellent tool for learning to play with a group!
I love this app! If you want to get comfortable playing with others, this is the way to go. Type in a song name, or even a group’s name, and you’ll find a variety of options to choose from. Once you choose a song, play along with the original artists. If you don’t know the chord, just tap the View tab, and choose Diagram. My playing has improved tremendously since I started using Chordify. My only request is that the option for 5-string banjo be included in the instrument options. Right now, I have to use my iPad for the music and chord names, but I have to keep my phone nearby to find the chord diagrams for chords that I don’t know. Including the banjo in instruments would be helpful.

Good app. Lots of fun. Room for improvement.
I have really enjoyed using Chordify to help me learn to play the guitar. I am modifying my previous review because as time has moved on, this app has not. It seems the developers have ignored their supporters. Multiple requests have been made to fix the issue in the IOS app where the app fails to return to the last song selected but goes to the end of the 25 song buffer that is programmed in. I can’t imagine this to be a difficult fix, but the request to do so has continually been ignored. The ability to sort and store one’s library has also been ignored. They continue to want renewal fees, but have failed miserably to update their app. Another year, and still no significant changes to the functionality of the app. It is difficult to manage the personal library. Editing in the IOS app has issues too.

Very disappointed in customer service
I started playing guitar in 2021 and I found this app and it helped me tremendously. Fast forward to 2023 the set lists I made over 200 and have now disappeared and can’t use or create new,tge setlists took me months to make going through every artist and album. Then I got my brother to sign back up again after 6 months away and he paid for the premium and he is only allowed to play 3 songs a day. So after contacting Chordify they can’t refund him even thou he can prove and showed them the receipt. He paid on Black Friday and immediately the app won’t work for him and they won’t do anything about it. And he just wants to play and have fun. Returning his money is second option. But looks like they don’t care even after I have messaged them several times. And also the app crashes a lot missing chords.

Wow forced charging after years of free use
I guess it was bound to happen that y’all would get greedy and now only allow three songs a day to be played. Still a great app but man talk about blindsiding your users and now forcing them to pay of the want to play more than three songs. I hope the app improves greatly and the song choice change more frequently than they don’t since y’all are now implementing only three free songs a day or pay for more. A great tool to learn an instrument for therapeutic purposes, now polluted by force pay to play. Metronome timing feature is not accurate, nor the chord feature…something I’ll never use since it’s timing is off, but yay, no I have to pay yearly to play more than three songs a day

As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame” Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Chordify is a music app that fies chords. Hence, Chordify. Henceforth, whence thou needeth many chords at your digit tips, the Chordify engine will crank out some letters with symbols like #, or b, or it might even have the elusive add9 or sus4. Now you’ll be able to play “All by myself “ for that beautiful young lady and you’ll no longer be “All by yourself.” You gots a hunny now you sneaky dog. BUT! NOT only will the app find your chords immediately, the app has a keyboard that gives you the ability to play the keyboard with many sounds. Like a synth pad or electric piano. There are so many more sounds. What I want to say is to convince or give you a little push to get the app: of all my wonderful music apps and synthesizers and what not, if I could only keep 3 apps on my phone, Chordify would be right in there. 5 stars yes!

I’m giving up.
I’ve been using as a paid customer for a few years now. But there’s been little to no functionality updates in that time. The worst being it’s treatment of your favorites list. If you scroll way down the list, then select one to play, and then back out of it, you get sent way back to near the top again, losing your place. I have scores of favorites way down there and I can’t explore those without lots of unnecessary scrolling. I’ve told support a couple times and they always let me know they are aware and give the general “we are working hard to improve the product”. I get it, that’s their job. But this is really a core requirement for managing a huge list, you shouldn’t have it snap back up when you back out of a selection. How can an app that charges over $40 a year get away with this? I just canceled my auto-payment. I’m done.

Wow!
For someone just screwing around with an ukulele they found left in a park, this app has helped to boost my instrumental ability. The format is pretty user friendly, and while you don’t absolutely need all the premium features, I’m honestly contemplating paying for them! What you get off the bat are the essentials to learn with scrolling chord charts and timing squares. I would probably suggest setting the chord charts as the default, because they initially have just chord names, but you can change the setting if you’re not already familiar with them. And the fact you can look up anything that’s a music video and this app analyzes and breaks it down for you is AWESOME!!!

Good app but needs updates
I did a trial for this app and really used it for the week to see everything it offers. It’s great that the chords are in tune with the original song which you can play along to while video is playing. And you can print out song that includes chords and has chord names above. But what it’s really missing is the words to the song when you want to play along with print out or while following on app. That’s a biggie. Also while the chords are correct per se it doesn’t give you the more detailed chord such as sus, add, 9, Etc so again it’s the basic chord. Which is ok but if I want to learn how to Play the song I do want actual chords played by band. Also it expensive for the lack of these details and for an app like this. I get more on other apps for So much less $$$$. But lack of lyrics is huge!!!!

Completely useless if it’s not a 4-chord pop song.
I’m baffled as to how this app has so many 5-star reviews. The only explanation I can think of is that most people are using it to learn songs with very basic chord progressions. Which is not meant to be a judgmental statement - good for them! But this app completely fails with anything remotely more complex. I tried uploading some funk & jazz music with interesting chord progressions, and the result was hilariously (read: frustratingly) bad. The app was detecting chord changes where there were none; it ignored chords changes that were supposed to be there; and the chords it DID detect were just flat-out wrong. I’m upset I spent money on this. I trusted a paid app like this to provide at least a decent service, but it’s just useless. I’m going to find a way to get a refund. The developers need to put some serious efffort into making this thing actually functional. I’m not hopeful that they will.

Terrible app, it doesn’t work
Changing my original 2 stars to 1 star. App misses obvious chords, leaves blank measures. Messes up the rhythm, in particular at beginning of songs. Gets other chord change wrong. This app does not do what it claims to do. Period. ———————-original rating below—————— Not impressed so far I am sure it is very difficult to program this type of app, but the accuracy of the cords is pretty low. Too low to be really useable in my opinion. The app program also seems to get confused by timing. Example, I was looking for the Al Jarreau version of Since I fell For You, clearly in 4/4 time and the app for some reason thinks it is 3/4 time. Additionally it appears the only chords it can find are 135 major and 135 minor chords. No major 7, no major 6, no diminished, etc. Far too basic for real music. As a novelty this app is fun, but as a really usable app tool for generating the correct chords to a song, not so much. Hopefully there will be improvements in the future.

Getting worse :(
I have used this app for years, and I love being able to play with virtually any song at a moments notice. When I first downloaded the app, I could play as many songs as I pleased. Lately, the number of songs per day was limited to three in what seemed to be an effort to get users to pay for a plan, which I can understand. After all, money has to be generated in order to function. However, I am now being forced to watch a lengthy add before I play a single song, AND I’m still limited to 3 per day. If I’m watching adds to play, why am I being limited still? I love the app as a resource for playing music, but the push to get users to purchase a plan is becoming a nuisance.

Great but lacking
This app has everything from looking up playable versions of the songs you love, changing the instrument, down or up shifting the key, slowing or quickening the tempo… the play along style is perfect for learning a song quickly and keeping tempo as well. I feel like they thought of all the complicated stuff… but they’re missing all the simple stuff. There is nowhere to just view the tabs, or just lyrics. If you’re trying to go over one part over and over without having to push play all the time and switch back and forth between the chords (which are sometimes inaccurate, granted you have the ability to report incorrect songs, but who knows how long it takes to fix them) the app can just be frustrating.

Too many bugs to count. Nonfunctional service.
This is a great concept, but almost every part of the execution is nonfunctional due to bugs. Every song I import gives a message "Chordify is out of tune." Which I guess is a cute indirect way of saying "this app is buggy". I was eventually able to upload my songs through the website, but each one stalled several times. Once converted, the timing is way off. It's almost comical listening to the chords on top of the music. It's almost exactly a beat behind, so the chords come crashing in a moment too late. I don't mind that it's not very accurate; the conversion is close enough I can figure it out, so kudos for that. I try to share the chords, but the person on the other end just sees a "page cannot be displayed" error. Useless. So I'm taking screenshots and texting them instead. I've received other errors too, like a message that I can't upload more songs because I've reached the limit. But when I try again it uploads fine. But then, as I mentioned before, it stalls or gives an error during the conversion process. This is all happening with a premium account, by the way. I've contacted their tech support about these issues. If they can resolve them, I'll update my review to reflect that. I really want it to work!

I actually love this app
I had bought a year subscription last year and it got cancelled recently so I looked around for another similar app and there are many but they are either more expensive or just not what I want. I like that I can have playlists here. They ended up offering another yr subscription for 20$ so I was like heck yeah!! Thank you chordify ! It’s been about 4 years and I’ve learned so many songs on the ukulele! I couldn’t sing and play at the same time for the life of me in 2018 but now (with not that much practice) I can sing and play at the same time!! Not a paid review btw lol

After 30 years or so…. Felt the deep down need and desire to play again. I bought a new beautiful Acoustic 6string downloaded this app and despite my very sore fingertips…. I have a hard time putting down my new guitar as I refer to as a friend!!! This app is flipping amazing!!!! I purchased the year subscription and I am certainly going to use it!!! If this were around in the 80”s ……. Lol. I would’ve been a rockstar by now. Maybe wishful thinking, I am just loving your app! I went from not playing at all to, what can I learn next. Just add lyrics to your chords and that would be the best ever!!

Can u please give more options on the overview of the chord on the video selection I would like real sheet music for those who are more comfortable with the symbols/ musical notes and still keep chords and numbers but make this a free option too. If u could also do a free 60 second video for alternative way to get your premium it would be great that way u have every one getting very tool and keep your paywall for other who already paided but I downloaded this app before I really loved it but I wanted to use the tool within the app without pay and the only alternative I could think of is a 60 sec ad video

Love this app! Highly recommend.
Having moved from guitar to piano, this app has really enhanced my ability to learn new songs on the piano quickly. I have to remember to use the little heart logo to save my songs, because I am learning new stuff so quickly I am forgetting to go back and practice the new songs I have learned, I just keep adding more. One enhancement I hope they will consider is bookmarks. I would really like to bookmark a section of a song to easily practice a difficult section. I highly recommend this app!

Too Expensive - Great App
I have been using this app since the free version. It is an excellent app for finding music for your favorite songs. However, a monthly subscription fee is absurd. I have noted the trend now by app developers is to attach a monthly fee for use of their app. I would rather pay for the app and use it at my discretion. This is greed and a ripoff. How much money do you think the average aspiring musician has laying around? Nearly a $100 per year for use of this app is consumer a consumer heist. I am extremely disappointed developers have chosen this route.

They just want your money
It wasn’t long ago I could easily use my phone or tablet to play songs using their actual website...Now all of a sudden everything is different and buggy and doesn’t work....so I download the app like they want me to, but OF COURSE there has to be a monthly fee in order to even see all of the chords in a song. A song that I’ve used their website before to play, for free, but now they want money every month for....its sad and ridiculous, I just want to play my ukulele without a monetary attachment is that so much to ask? Ugh. And they even say that the app makes learning songs “10x easier” HAHA yeah, it’s actually 100x harder to use their program than it was 6 months ago. Very disappoint. Sometimes things change for the worse and this is a prime example.

I am confused, someone told me this app rocks, and they play a piano, and I do too. But I don’t understand because it plays as a guitar, and I want it as the piano, and I can change it to a piano, but how they told me it was easy to use, but for me it does not seem to be easy. (And not to be rude but she is... dumb....) and she can’t play piano at all, and I can play, but still, I don’t how to do it. And I don’t know how to come up for the piano part of a song I made, and they said it makes up or helps with a song they are making, but it doesn’t do that, it only tells you how to play a song that is already made up. Sorry that this makes no sense, but I don’t know how to word it at all!

ATTENTION DEVS
First off, great app, love it. The absolute biggest annoyance with this app comes from a large song played history. If i scroll 4 pages down to play a song when I’m finished I have to scroll back down 4 pages to get to where I was at. I have 570 songs in my history and getting to the end of the list is painful if I play any songs along the way. Can’t you make it take me back to where I was during my scrolling instead of taking me to the top?? Thanks so much.

Fantastic app
I am a working musician. I work with several different bands and several different genres of music this app takes tons of time off my personal rehearsal sessions. most of the time there is no band rehearsal just straight into the studio or straight on stage. I don’t have to spend so much time finding chords which is the major thing. it is usually the difference between getting the gig, drawing a paycheck, or being told you can’t cut it! This app definitely puts the numbers in my favor

Best application available
This is the best and highly recommended application available to enjoy playing music for music lovers like me. I have made a significant improvement learning new songs and being able to play with other more advanced music enthusiasts. This application has thousands of songs ready to play in addition to any songs that I import from my own library with high accuracy. I use the chords provided using my left hand and this helps me to follow the melody by ear.

This app USED to be the best.
This app used to rock and I would tell EVERYONE about it but now I noticed you can only view ONE song a day unless you pay for premium and now I don’t see the point and deleted it. I learned how to play ukelele and piano on here and used it all through college and now it seems like they’re only after money because I totally get how the premium features are worth it and there were times when I would purchase it for a while to help me with projects but now you can barely even use it unless you pay for it and that totally feels like betrayal. I hope someone else makes a similar app that is better and doesn’t force you to go premium. They must be chillin with Elon.

so awesome
OK, so I have been a beginner for a long time and I’ve never had an app that is so amazing that can actually help and help me improve my guitar skills. You can switch it to ukulele or piano, and everything you want to do. I usually put one headphone in and listen to the music while I play the guitar while it shows me the chords, and it’s the greatest. Also, if I don’t know barre chords I can switch the cap until I find one that doesn’t have any barre chords. 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸

Amazing app, but...
Let me start off and say that I think this app is really well done. It does everything it says it will do, and it works great. I love the option that you can select guitar, ukulele, and piano. I just wish it also had violin! This would make this app even better. There are many songs that I would love to be able to play on the violin. Including one I have been trying to find any type of sheet music for months now. I still think this app is really amazing, if the creators could add an option to choose a violin It would make me so happy!! 😁

Best music app ever
I know how to play many songs, and have learned many of those with Chordify. Sometimes. in a jam session, or just playing around, I forget the names of the song, our just exactly how it goes. With Chordify I can carry the songs on the app in my phone in a set list for quick reference. My only suggestion would be that the set list have the ability to list the song by title rather than artist.

I was lucky enough to get this app before you had to get an account to play three songs. Now, for those who want this app, read this review; this is a beginner to intermediate music app that doesn’t “Chordify” every song. If you don’t have a Chordify account, you can only play one song. If you have an account, you can play three. You can play more if you buy their premium stuff. Only get this if you’re desperate. I won’t take down this review nor change it until Chordify rectifies itself and doesn’t force premium. Also, there’s ads before the songs for other beginner guitarist apps.

Favorites
I love this app and use it all the time. Every once it awhile it will act kind of jittery though and it’s frustrating. For instance sometimes when I’m scrolling through my favorites and choose a song, when I exit out it scrolls me ALL THE WAY back to the top. Not a huge deal but I do have over 200 songs saved and it definitely is an inconvenience. Also sometimes when I favorite a song it doesn’t show up in my library even after I go back and make sure I have favorited it. Other than that great app and super helpful!

Made relearning the guitar fun
I have been out of practice for a while. It was hard finding a way to get back into a routine. This app made it a lot easier and fun by giving me the ability to get the chords to all of the songs that I enjoy and the scrolling feature is awesome as I put my phone on my sound doc, hit play, and jam right along. Can feel myself getting back into the grove and my skill level progressing.

This app is a JOKE!!!! Use the website instead
at first glance the website for Chordify was really cool so when I saw that they had an app I was more than happy to download it but whenever I search a song up nothing ever comes up But on the website, it’s fine I know the rating contradicts the review but this is the only way to make people see this considering when I went to see if anyone was having the saving problem as me I only got to see five star ratings.

Love Hate it
I got a bunch of songs on one account and then i got signed out one day automatically for some reason.. and half of my songs disappeared 🥲 3 months pass and i have a few extra songs in file but, then the songs disappeared again. I signed in now for a day and after getting home from work, i cant sign back into my account. There might be a data problem please fix this 🥲 this app is so amazing and all i do is play guitar. It would be sweet to be able to have hundreds of songs in my account

The best app for playing songs
I have been using this app for almost a year now and it has not only brought me the pleasure of playing the songs that I like, but it has also enhanced my overall guitar skills. I’m 67 years old and just got back into guitar playing after many years of not playing. Chordify has aided me on my journey to return to playing. I use it everyday as I practice. Highly recommend this app.

Change the type?
So I have limits on apps from my parents wanting me to be off my phone, which is ok, but this isn’t an app I use just to mess around. I want to learn an instrument and with the limits on ‘entertainment’ type apps, I can only be on this app for half an hour. That’s not helpful, idk. Would you please change it to ‘teaching’? Idk if you can, but it is a teaching app and it’s be lovely to work with it more, since it’s such an amazing app otherwise. Thank you! Plz read

One thing to fix
I sure wish after playing a song from favorites that it would return to the same place where you left off instead of starting at the beginning. Better yet, create Settings so we can control navigation of favorites as we like. But if I’m going down the list of favorites playing songs I don’t want to have to go back to the very beginning and thumb down again to play the next song.

Everything you need
This app provides everything you need in order to learn any song possible you want and transpose and just Chordify in a variety of instruments too it’s helped me tremendously and I’m working at a camp this year the kids will love what I’ve learned from this app. Perfect❤️ definitely worth the $42 for the year I’ve had it for two years and haven’t been disappointed since

Ads ads and more ads
This is the worst app I’ve used as far as ads. Open the app get an ad, got to the search another ad, do the search another ad, click on the song another ad. I often get 4 ads just to get to a song. Maybe that is their way of trying to get you to buy a paid subscription, to annoy you until you pay up or leave, I left. The ads are so aggressive I’ll never buy the subscription and I just deleted the app from my phone. This world of shoving ads down our throats is terrible and this app is an example of that.

I don’t have a title 😐
I gave it a 4 because I am just a beginner pianist and I have no money to pay for the premier. My parents wanted me to learn the piano to play at our church. I can’t do anything other than just playing along with, which is great but I need to learn more. I hope there can be piano lessons too or how memorize the notes faster or something to help students like me learn how to play faster and better in like 3 months. But this app has helped me a lot. I searched everywhere for it. Thank you foe making this app.
