The Citibank app is easy to use and easy to navigate. You can do almost anything online through the app like making payments or making deposits or simply transferring money from one bank to another. It’s always nice to use an app on your phone where they have thought of just about everything you would need to do to manage and maintain your bank accounts and payments to your mortgages or your car loans and I give a thumbs up.
Coding mistakes make it impossible to Pay Mortgage
It is impossible to navigate the app because the main menu is broken. This means you’re not able to pay your mortgage because on the mobile version, the menu doesn’t appear correctly after selecting “Mortgage”, and beyond the main menu you can’t navigate anywhere else within the menu because of this bug. The same thing happens when you try to use the web experience instead of the app, and they offer no way to convert to the full desktop version on mobile as a workaround. This should seriously be illegal and feels completely wrong. It’s been this way for months. I’ve never written an app review before but I’m hoping that given the severity of this issue, someone over there will see this and fix it. You need to check your app- all parts- for usability. This is inexcusable. Fix it.
More Streamlined Visually, Less Up-to-Date than Previous Version
As much as I love the aesthetics of the new City Bank app, I found during the transition that the old app updated available balances immediately while the new app takes several hours to update. The new app shows pending transactions, but does not reflect those transactions in the balances nearly as fast as before. This delay is frustrating if you rely solely on the app for your information and think you have more in your account than you actually do! This is my sole issue with the new app and if this delay is fixed, it will be a definite upgrade to the previous version.
We have been with City Bank for over 15 years and love the way they make us feel important, recognized, and appreciated. Not only are they wonderful just for everyday banking, but they go above and beyond to assist us with loan requests and any other business needs. It is great to be able to have a local bank that is not associated with any of the major corporate banks. We really appreciate the hometown feel and personal attention we receive at City Bank.
I have to say I love this new updated app for City Bank! I can go directly thru the app to schedule my bills payments. The icons are nice as well, it lets you know what money is spent on and icons for deposits and transfers! Before this app I had to go thru the web and log in to schedule payments for my bills! The whole app set up is great! Thank you so much!!
When the announcement came that the old app was going away, I called the bank and told them that they had forgotten to include the Rewards level in the new app. Their reply was “Oh, no, they didn’t forget”. My response was that was a distinction without a difference. Remembering that they needed to do it but then NOT doing it reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where the car rental company took his reservation but didn’t HOLD the reservation, the important part. Today the old app is gone and the new app still has not been fixed.
You can never be certain if there is fraudulent activity. Sometimes I login and don’t see any accounts or accounts missing. I send emails in the app and never get a call or response to my questions. Somehow my alerts change without my knowledge, explain that one. Let’s hope my savings account reappears. Really love when it happens on a long weekend or holiday, when you can’t call and speak to anyone.
The new and improved City Bank app has everything I would have asked for! Love the touch ID for log in. Now I can do anything conveniently on my iphone that I can do on the laptop website. And the security is excellent-I appreciate text alerts about my account activity. It is like icing on the cake, great bank with great app!
I have been a City Bank customer for several years and have used “bill pay” all of that time. Recently I tried to pay bills in my phone app. But, I got a “Ipay solutions” ERROR. I rebooted, deleted and reinstalled app as per instructions from your it tech. I have called three times about this problem with no fix. I can pay bills with billpay on my pc but is slow. Very annoying. Please correct this problem. Thanks.
This app is extremely helpful when I need to do different things like view my balance, transfer funds, get e-doc statements, etc. it’s wonderful knowing I don’t have to go to a City Bank to do these things. It’s all on my phone which makes it quick, easy, and very convenient.
I’ve dealt with several banks over the years. City Bank is one of the very best for quick, competent customer service. They stay ahead of the others for online and mobile access. Had a couple fraud attempts. They caught it quick and handled them well. Took good care of me. Friendly loan department too. Very pleased.
The City Bank app is very user friendly and intuitive to use. It is quick and easy to pay bills, check account balances and anything else I need to do. I am very pleased with every aspect of City Bank. It is a great bank to do business with.
I feel that this app lakes in features that many other banks now have like instant balance updates. I am also frustrated that there seems to be a glitch and you cannot make deposits from the app because it just crashes. Now that I no longer live near a branch this is extremely inconvenient. City Bank really needs to make some improvements if it hopes to keep up with banks like Wells Fargo, Bank of Maerica and Capital One to name a few.
We have been with you guys since 1997. We love the personal appeal of the bank and especially love Jennifer Carter she has helped us through the years and never has she been rude to us in fact we can’t recall anyone at the Forney branch being rude to us and that means a lot!. We have told many friends about our banking experience with City Bank and several have open new accounts and it has and always will be a pleasure banking with City Bank. So far works well; it has more options like the online option I am very pleased so far Great improvements compared to the old app. Awesome changes; for me it helps tremendously because I live Abilene, TX and I can do all my banking from this app and still have a local bank in Lubbock. Great Job
Top-notch service and security that is upper tier — what’s not to love about this app and City Bank Texas?! I’ve been banking with City Bank for around 35 years and will continue as long as they provide this type of service. It would be six stars if there were one!
I love city bank. Great customer service awesome people! Always feel like my money is safe. I can do lot on the website. I wish I could do more from the app but, they are always updating it. I get a small credit for all my interest, I get all my ATM fees back as well. Go City Bank!! Eep taking care of us little people!
This is the bank I switched over to after having a terrible time with my previous banks app. I was hardly able to do anything. This app is user friendly and updated. It is quick and easy and makes those little transactions and such so much smoother!
I really like the app sometimes it’s really slow to load. I’m not sure if it’s my service or the app itself.. It’s extremely convenient and very informative. I love using it also like using the automatic deposit at the ATM. It’s amazing and it’s very fast efficient and, get your money in your account. I really like that.
It is a great app, I utilize many of your features. I would like to see a more obvious phone number display to contact City Bank for customer questions or reporting a problem with their account. Otherwise, one hundred percent pleased with your app.
I love the total tally you all complete and the clearness of each transaction. I miss using this app daily. Happy state bank needs some serious improvements but unfortunately I’m forced to use them in Amarillo because there isn’t a City Bank here.
Other than having a problem with my password (which is not the program’s fault) this is a really easy banking program to use. I wish it would update deposits as fast debits, but still a good app!
The app generally works well. I do feel that it is secure when I’m using it. 5 stars for that. But I’ve had some disappointing experiences with checks not being deposited or that entire section being buggy. Less than satisfied in that department. Overall……worth the download.

This app is ok but every time I try and scroll through my checking account....when I touch the screen the menu pops out from the left. I can’t look for any deposit because it keeps popping out and it is very irritating! It happens way to often!! Fix it and I’d give you a five star. I like using the old but, sadly, it’s going away. At least I didn’t have this problem with that one.
It’s pretty intuitive and it lets you do the things you’re likely to want to do: check balances, deposit checks through the app using a smart phone or tablet.
I’ve worked a couple other bank mobile apps, and this one is about the same. Sometimes difficult to log into, other times it’s a snap. Basically, it’s very useful.
User friendly. Nothing is difficult about it. I use another bank app which I have to compare this one to and it is easy to tell which one is faster and has better features. Love my City Bank app!
This app has everything I need from my bank. I love the ability to manage my debit card. I can disable the card, increase my ATM limit and increase my daily spending limit all in the app in seconds.

I have never had any problems with the City Bank app. It is set up in an easy to read format. I can easily deposit checks, transfer money, or disable my card.
The application, for most of the time, is down. I have changed my password more than once because it locks me out. The system never updates the changes so I am constantly calling support or trying to correct the issue. If I do speak to someone, they give me a procedure that I have tried multiple times.
It’s not as user friendly as other apps or online banking systems but with some work it could be. Learning the bill pay was difficult and a transfer as well. I had to go to the website for better overview of what it looked like. As I use (learn) it more I will be able to make more suggestions.
The City Bank app is very user friendly. Making transactions on the app is almost as quick as being at the ban counter. It’s great. Thanks for your great service.
I love that this app allows you to use face recognition for log in. The navigation is simple and the same as using a computer. Transactions are done so quick and convenient.
