*update on original rating- after 2 months of waiting, the update has come and I was once again able to deposit my check from home using the app! Thank you for the update!! I’ve always loved the app and use constantly however, since my phone updated to iOS 16, I can not deposit checks which is one of the best features of the app! It just keeps prompting me to rotate my phone after opening the camera and never registers that it’s rotated. It also locks my screen until I swipe up the app. Pleeeeease fix and I will happily update my review.
The old app was outdated, but the new app lacks basic banking needs. How was I able to see my pending transactions on the old app, but no longer can on the new app? The whole transition was messy. Banking clients were sent emails stating the transition would be from 8am to noon on the 14th. Then there was completely different log in instructions that we were not told about, and we were not told to download the new app which wasn’t even ready to use until the 15th. I was on hold for over 45 minutes at 3pm (3 hours after the new platform was supposed to be ready) and then was hung up on and had to sit on hold for an additional hour after calling back. No one has answers about the missing pending transactions on the app or the website. This seems like unsafe banking, and I will probably be leaving Coast Hills now.
After rereading the multiple emails sent by CoastHills regarding how to set up the new online banking & app it was actually really easy! I definitely overlooked needing to put 1234 AND the last 4 of my ssn as the initial log in password, but that was my error! I did visit the Lompoc branch during the time of the new upgrade and I could hear the Member Service Officers helping their members set up their online banking. Great job CoastHills! A lot more features and accessibility with this new online banking too- love that I can pay my credit card from the app now!
Overall the app design, functionally, etc is decent (6/10) compared to; major banks and new FinTech companies such as RobinHood, So-Fi, etc. Also you please fix the exporting of PDF statements in the app (I am running the latest iPhone, iOS, and app updates)? When I try to export the open PDF to iCloud Drive folders, the file does not export anything. Please also add the option to export to OneDrive as this is not an option, and I have tried to fix by restarting my phone and making sure all the shortcuts are active when clicking on the “send” up arrow options. I am pretty tech savvy and can usually troubleshoot 99.9% of any tech issues, and this seems to be a CH app issue. Thank you

New app and bank needs some work. I didn’t have trouble downloading it and logging on from a computer. But it needs to show pending transactions and holding funds. The funds holding for 5 business days on anything over $200 is ridiculous. Customers in good standing should receive their money instantly. Before the new app, mobile check deposits were being accepted in full ($800) within 10 minutes. Now I get $200 and have to wait 5 days for the remaining money. It’s MY money from my other bank account. So now I have to go to the atm to deposit or do multiple checks of $200 to get my money now. Dumb. Money management doesn’t work on the new app either.
Whoever had the bright idea to fix something that there was nothing wrong with should be fired immediately I’ve downloaded the app eight times logged in of course it won’t login please finish the job whoever thought of this idea please cut them now bringing the back up....Going to change institutions it’s apparent that nobody at Coasthills cares......ok...after calling the other 800 number for help because you couldn’t actually get a hold of anyone from CHills and them telling me I would receive a call back.....they texted me with bogus information.....after the 10th attempted download and choosing the call me option...it finally works and works great.
There are so many reasons to bank with COASTHILLS (excellent employees!), but this new app needs work. With the old app I constantly checked my pending transactions. When I asked a teller at COASTHILLS why the new app doesn’t show them, she said they are working on it. That was weeks ago. Being able to see pending transactions is a must! Hope it will be remedied soon.
So for some foolish reason they are no longer using the old app. So now they’ve asked us to download a new one...not just an update. This is a completely separate and different app. Not only is that an annoying practice, but the end result is that there is no longer ANY working app at all. The foolishness of a bank creating this situation is unfathomable. The penultimate obligation of any financial institution is to keep the customer money safe. Closing down the original app, requiring a new (not updated) app, and then seeing both of them be inoperable makes the customer doubt the trustworthiness of CoastHills. It’s not only a technology failure but it’s also a monumental marketing failure.
The new app is basically the same as the old one as far as the interface goes. I’m glad that they updated the platform, since that was likely done for security purposes and/or to make future updates easier. For those having issues signing in, I wasn’t able to do the first time log in on the app either. I signed in on the website and then was able to sign in on the app. Hope that helps!
I wanted to hate this because I strongly dislike this bank, but the app isn’t too bad. It looks like it has some added marketing features that capture more data than the old app. I haven’t used all features but there are plenty of them and it’s easy to find them.
Just delete your old app and download the new one. Takes couple minutes of your busy life. They sent an email months ago explaining the changes and what to do. You didn’t read it and now it’s their fault lol.
Overall I like the app, transition was confusing and after reading the instructions correctly, I was able to sign in. Now, I don’t know if anyone has come across this problem, but I am no longer able to print from Adobe. The only option is to Save to File, had no problem with old app. Sure loved the old app.
This application need to give the user more control and give ability to do anything from the mobile app. The user should be able to check any account statements in PDF formats ranging in 3 year history as well as ordering credit card, adding joint members to accounts and applying for loans. This bank is way far behind on the technology aspect compared to other institutions.
Seems to have more features than the last version. I was anticipating problems based on some other recent reviews, but I was able to log right in so maybe they’ve already worked out some bugs.
I love my bank, I opened it in high school I plan on being a life long customer. But I hate the new app. It’s lovely to look at and much cleaner to navigate however the thing I loved about the old app, the thing that made it special was being able to see my pending transactions. I hope that they will update the app to include this feature.
I really like the new app. Everything is literally at your fingertips. Paying my visa and mortgage have never been easier with this new online banking! Thank you!
This app transition is messy and unprofessional. I have had no access to my account for days, it just constantly loads even after updating the new app. Coast hills was my first choice for over 3 years, I will now be switching over to a different bank that will fulfill what I need when it comes to my money.
The transition to the new app was a mess. Not having access to online banking for several days is not good. Now I can’t get the new app to launch. I’m currently on a road trip and have no idea what’s going on in my account. Calling in for help is always a long and drawn out process. I’m moving on to a new bank.
This new app is the worst I feel like my money being stolen little by little with out giving me messages or details on where my money’s going with no transaction this morning I woke up to 9$ missing from my bank account . It won’t show me pending transactions this app is the worst .
I can’t tell you how annoying it is to be working on an app and have it constantly be wanting me to review it and rate it. It’s an app. I just use it. I don’t want to rate it. I don’t want to star it and I don’t want to write a review of it.
After hours of trying to login I finally got it to work only to find that the new app has LESS features than the old one. I don’t know what kind of upgrade that is. I can no longer see transactions that are pending which is very upsetting to me.
Great updated app and software functionality! Linked all my Finacial accounts with no problem! I can now see my financial profile across almost a dozen platforms on one screen. Great work!
Was able to login, finally, downloaded the new app, but like others have said, when I try to open the app, it just keeps loading. Waited 10 minutes of a twirling dot then decided to write a review. Please fix.
I cannot even log in. It buffers in the log in area. Old app was old but this one doesn’t even work. Plus I don’t have time to sit around for hours to get customer service. Definitely not happy.
I’m not enjoying this update considering I can’t even get passed the app to open it just constantly says please wait in the page where you’re supposed to acknowledge the upgrade. Smh
I haven’t been able to access my bank account through this app in months. Even after I follow the directions for the temp password, the app never loads
I was able to access my account just fine. Now, I can’t even get pass the login page. Very frustrating when Mobil banking is supposed to quick and beneficial
Why say you have scheduled one day maintenance for a banking app, then go 3 days past that date, and then make a whole new app without notifying anybody; then it doesnt even open lol

Ouch coast hills! What an inconvenience. As if being in a pandemic isn’t bad enough, I have to visit your bank every single time I need access to my account? Having NO ACCESS TO MY MONEY THROUGH THE APP DAYS IN A ROW IS A GOOD ENOUGH REASON FOR ME TO SWITCH BANKS!
This app is the worst app. Coasthills transition to this app is worst! I could not log in to my account. Calling Coasthills for assistance, good you’ll be waiting all day.
