Crab Island

I love the idea of this game, and it’s a great time waster. But, I think there needs to be a little bit more to do if you want to keep players around for longer than a month, and the crabs need to do more so that they are funner to watch. Don’t get me wrong, I love this game, and I like that you don’t get a crab every time you fish, but regardless of how long it takes to find crabs, people are going to run out of things to do. This game is a great start. It’s absolutely adorable, and probably one of the best pet collector games visually and conceptually, but it could still use some work to make a lasting impression on the people who play it. Also, I really like that there seem to be no bugs. I’ve only been playing this for a day, but I have found no bugs in the game. It’s really quite rare to see a game with absolutely no issues, but I don’t think there are any bugs in this game as of writing this review. And since I’m basically an expert on finding bugs in video games and can’t seem to find any, I’ll give you an extra star ⭐️. Well, I mean, I can’t add a 6th star to a review, but you get the idea. Tl;dr: the game is obviously kind of new. Great game so far, could use more features moving forwards. Love the graphics, sound effects, and the fact that I couldn’t find any bugs! 💛❤️🤍💚💙

I LOVE crabs and I LOVE video games and have DESPERATELY been hopping and wishing for a crab collector video game to waste my time away and ITS FINALLY HERE! The crabs in this game are SO cute and I’m SO excited to collect all the different varieties. You can name each crab (which I love), pet them, feed them worms, give them hats and have them dance together in a crab rave! The crab rave dance is very cute, I think there are different versions too and the animations are fun to watch. The only thing is, when you only have two crabs raving the camera sometimes moves in a way that you can’t see them but only for a few seconds. I think those camera movements are generally intended for when you have a lot of crabs. Other than that I’m very excited to play this game forever. I got the ad free version Wifi gives you a little crown for your crabs! Very worth it! 🦀

I’m tired of getting screwed over by gacha games for enjoying cute things. This is my favourite game now because there’s no real need for it. You get all the cute crabs you want just by playing the game and yeah, you CAN pay for extras or one time only ad removal to help support the creators but you don’t have to just to enjoy the main part of the game: the crabs. It’s not a perfect game but remember this is a smaller studio, not Raid Shadow Legends or Pokémon Go. Aside from that, the game itself is really fun and entertaining for when you just want to decompress or be rewarded without the pressures of competition and at your own pace, too. The crabs are REALLY cute, lots of different designs based on real crabs as well as of unique. (The pastel rainbow star one is my favourite!) You also get to dress them up in accessories from the shop using their in-game currencies; coins and gems, which can be earned simply by playing the game. Gems are the “premium” form of currency in-game but can be earned by regular game-play, such as fishing or completing daily tasks. This also applies to “booster” items. My only suggestions are giving the crabs species, including made-up species for the unique variety and having more to do.

Well when I got this game it is a great time waster and I just found out that my dad is going to get me a new pet and it is a crab.I think 🤔 it needs more languages because I’m not sure 🤔 what the words are and me and my family are from Germany 🇩🇪 and Ireland 🇮🇪 it is fine but I now can read all of the words now. A NOT VIP CRAB would be cool 😎 I think 🧐 like it had sunglasses on it and you get to create your own house and character. And get to choose what language so you can understand it better. And if you do that I will tell everyone of my friends and family.

As you can see in the title, I love the idea of this game. It’s so cute and fun to watch them dance, but there is one thing I would like. I love the games that you can play with the crabs, but you need more! I have a idea for one of the games. You should be a able to do a volleyball game with other crabs. And you should add some more crabs so if you win the volleyball game, you can earn the crab/crabs you were playing with. Keep up the good work

Really enjoying the game so far!! It’s fairly simple gameplay wise but fun for all ages. I love all of the different crabs, hats, and accessories you can collect. The visuals look great and the game runs smoothly on my device (iPhone 8 Plus). Being able to interact with the crabs by petting and feeding them really adds to the cuteness!! This game has a lot of potential and I’m looking forward to seeing what future updates may bring :)

I love this game so much specially the crab dance there’s so many different types of crabs I only have three so far but they’re so cool I love this game because they’re so cute and you give them hats and your first that you don’t even have to buy name them whenever you want and you have so many letters to name it whatever you want I love it so much keep up the good work🥳🥳🥳🤩🤩🤩and one more thing I don’t get adds unless I want them

This game is awesome!! i like collector games and i love crabs so this is just omg *chefs kiss* like other reviews said, i think the game should have a little bit more in terms of customization. i.e. you get to create a special crab each time you catch said crab (rare tho) or you should get to create little homes for the crabs or there should be like rain storms or nighttime like little scenery changes for the crabs. overall it's such a good game tho!

As a Marylander at heart…I know my crabs! This game is so fun and lighthearted, you can pop in for a few minutes then jump out and not feel pressure. It’s just the right amount of collecting and atmosphere to keep you coming back. The characters are adorable, download it, you won’t be crabby about it! Shellibrate with the dancing crustaceans!

I like this game because it’s a crab Game and I like crabs because they look cool and I like the hats that you can put on them because it just makes them even more cool also can you lower the prices on those little hats also can you make it that you can mostly get crabs near your island

It seems like a game I could really Hyper-fixate on but my problem is the gems. You need gems to upgrade you island but they are very hard to come by. They have them in the shop but for way more then they are worth! There is no point in fishing if your island is full and you can’t upgrade. Not worth it.

I study crabs as a marine ecologist and had to download this app when my friend sent it my way. It’s so cute! A great way to take breaks between grad school work. The crabs are adorable, I love that they purr when you pet them, and the dances are too cute. I paid to get rid of ads, as well, and it was very worth it!

Platonic games never disappoint. I LOVE this game. It's simple, yet perfect. It's fun to collect crabs and accessories, and no hard or stressful parts. If you're looking for a fun and simple game to pass time or just play when you want something to do, get this game, and any other game by these outstanding creators.

This game is the best carb game I’m mean, cute crabs, cool dancing, cooler island when upgraded. It’s so fun! And relaxing when fishing. I would like a roleplay mode where you join in a big island where players playing as crabs that they collected can play around, dance and talk to one another!

I just got this game TODAY and it’s so much fun!and I love the crab’s design,it’s so cute! I am already addicted and perfect for long car rides with no Wi-Fi. Will update the review if anything goes wrong, but so far Igs been a nice fun head empty game! Love giving the crabs accessories, but I’ve noticed the buttons a bit finicky, taking a minute to refresh or click off of something. Minor annoyance, but it has happened a couple times

the ads arent that frequent, which I really like! the crab designs are very very cute, also the game is very simple, but not so simple its boring. overall a very good game so far!

Not a bad game. VIP is fairly cheap for a one-time purchase that removes optional ads as well as forced ones. I love the hats, and can’t wait to see what Crabthulhu is or the monuments. But most importantly, you can pet the crabs. And they purr.

I think you need HERMIT CRABS in this game. Please add hermies plz add them this is like my 3rd time trying to tell you about these, please we have 4 pet hermit crabs in our tank so that's why I'm OBSESSED with these crabs. –10 year old kid

I don’t even remember who made this (except Platonic Games) but this is good! It’s based off of the Talking Tom games, have crab dancing, (it’s so cool!) and actually fun games! Keep up the great work! 🤩

I like the apps visuals and simple layout but it’s just too much with the ads. It doesn’t make me want to upgrade because of how annoying the ads are in the basic version. It’s just too annoying..

The reason I like this game is because it has crabs that you can collect and I love crabs a lot I actually have per hermit crabs right now.

I’m so glad I didn’t let my daughter download this too, the first freaking ad it plays is two girls in porn outfits playing Rock Paper Scissors while making nonstop sexual faces and gestures and hinting at things children have no business seeing or knowing. It’s trashy and gross. Shame on you sneaky pieces of garbage, your app cannot have a rating of ages 4+ with ads like that

the game is wonderful! it’s clear it’s still in early development, but i’m hoping for better camera movement, i’d like to rotate the camera whenever the crabs are at the back of an island so i can see them better :)! the ads are not too frequent, and lastly i’m just hoping for more crabs!

This game is really unique and cute. The crabs are beautiful and their accessories you can get are cute but there’s several things that this game needs before it’s a 5star game. One thing would be more to do, it takes a very short time to do what you need to do before it’s done. Upgrading your Island needs to either be easier to do or you need to increase the amount of crabs you can have. There are 115 crabs you can get and each upgrade only allows 10 more crabs and by the time you are able to upgrade again, you’ve already fished up 10 or more crabs that you can’t put on the island. There needs to be an option to choose which crabs you want out. Once you fill up the limit of crabs, any you fish up after that are stored and you’re not able to put one away and switch another one out. I want to be able to go into what crabs I have, choose one I just got and switch it with one I have on the island. The achievements for the shrines and especially the scroll one are far far too time consuming to get. For example the water shrine only took 100 runes so that wasn’t too bad but the other 3 shrines add 100 more runes you need to get to get them. Like one is 200 then 300 and so on. And the scroll achievement is ridiculous because you need 1000 scrolls for that one. Even if someone had the time and the money to spend on baits and diamonds to fix the rod each time, it would still take them a massive amount of time to get that achievement like I’ve been playing this game for a while now and usually get into it a couple of times a day and I only have like 40 scrolls out of a thousand. When you make that stuff so hard to do, people are going to get bored and delete your app because it’s just too time consuming. You need to add way more to do because I do not see this game lasting very long with how it is now, it is really cute and has a lot of potential and is great now as a starting point but it’s very limited and if you want long time players, you’re not going to have them if this game stays how it is. So you should add like different themed islands with different themed crabs and holiday island events so for like Halloween for example, you’d have a haunted island with crabs that themed that way as well. You need to add more things to achieve and fish up because you only have so many, maybe do a daytime and nighttime crab theme, pole upgrades that add special features, etc. there are endless things you can do to make this app amazing. This app has been out long enough by now too that you should have already updated at least once and added new stuff. So please do yourselves and all of us who play your game a favor and don’t be one of those devs who are lazy and just release a generic app they never do anything else with. I never write reviews this long and I almost didn’t with this one either but this game has a lot of potential and it’s refreshing because it’s unique and not one of those games that have a hundred other versions just like it.
