Great app, for a free resource it is far and away better than most paid ones
I have begun using this app as a major planning and playing tool for my 5e games, its almost perfect, definitely far better than i had hoped, however, there are a few things i would love to see improved to fully earn that 5th star: 1. Allow users to create custom spell entries, and even label where they come from if needed for 3rd party sources. 2. Allow for more tags on spells, only having “known” “prepared” and “favorite” simply is not enough, although it is a great start. 3. Label if a spell is gainable from subclasses, feats, races, magic items, or other non-base class lists. Such sources are hard to look up, but really can be helpful to know. 4. allow notes to be made on a spell, often its nice to mark down DM rulings, notes on good uses, calculations, or extra features or clarifications. 5. A self setable (can choose how many slots it has) spell slot counter would be really useful. Possibly with a fill in table for what casting bonuses you have for a given class or what you get back on a given rest. 6. A way to designate an image, gif, or video for a spell. 7. An in-app way to post suggestions or glitch reports. 8. A way to add a grid (square and hex) for spacial illustration. I know, lot to ask saying these all at once, but they really are my only improvement ideas. And if it had these then it would be worth more than most paid apps out there

Very useful!
I’ve been playing since 1979 and have had a variety of ways to keep track of spells, many hand-written. But at my advanced age, I can no longer write all that neatly and without hand pain. This app is what I’ve been looking for. Tons of spells listed. I can filter by levels, class, and other things. I took a while to just explore and figure out how it works. It wasn’t too hard. I use an iPad and if I turn it to portrait the image is large enough for me to see well with my difficult eye-sight. I agree with another reviewer that space to add notes would be useful. The only other comment I have is that it doesn’t look like there is a way to save (or lock) my selections so I don’t accidentally delete things.

Highly recommended
So, I’ve downloaded about 8 different DnD Spellbook apps and this is the best I’ve found. Most other apps charge up front, charge a subscription fee, or charge for expanded content. This one is completely free and includes all updated spell lists (including XGE and TCE) so you have easy access to all spells you can use. You can create your own spell lists for different characters based on spells you have prepared or spells you know. You can also filter your spells by level/class/range/etc. Super useful when you level up your Druid and wanna know quickly what spells you can now use.

Track, sort, filter ALL the spells
This app might seem to be a simple spell list, but it gives you enormous power through a clear and simple sorting and filtering mechanism. Want to see all second level wizard evocation spells? You can do that! The interface is intuitive. The design is fun. You can have separate lists for multiple characters. And it’s free with no ads. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen an app this good without popups, etc. Highly recommend for anyone playing 5e D&D who wants to track spells.

Only needs 1 thing.
This app is almost perfect but all it needs is a way to separate the spells between levels. Right now it seems like the levels are all mixed in with each other and it sorts them by name. So if that could be added it would be absolutely perfect.

Not sure how
So, I might not be little, but I believe in magic. It sounds childish. I want to know, how you got the information (I don’t care how, just keep reading), and if these are real spells. Probably not. But someone I know did something and it happened. Maybe coincidence. But maybe not. By the way, don’t make fun of me for this. (Also I don’t know how to rate it so I’m doing one star. Nothing personal. I just don’t know how to use the book. So what I might be told, I would change my star rating) Thank you for reading! (If you did)

Decent
For a free product this is great. The amount of resources available without having to pay is amazing. That being said please fix the search bar. It’s a real hassle having to scroll through all the spells trying to find the one I need.

Great, one minor thing
This app is great, let’s you manage learned and prepares spells really well and filter spells by level and other parameters. Only potential improvement I can see is adding in a spell slot tracker, but that’s plenty easy to manage on your own.

A problem
When I open the application, it tells me to enter the name of my character, and then after I type it in, there is no place for me get to the spell page

Favorite spell tool
I love this app. Honestly one of my favorite things and works really well. One thing I would like is if you could sort/search damage types but even without that it’s still amazing

Exactly what I was looking for
I’m new to playing as a cleric in 5e, and was nervous about how daunting it’ll be to pick from so many spells. This app is much easier than flipping through the book, and tbh idk how I’d play my cleric without it.

Great app
This app is a great reference for DMs and players, especially for those prepared casters! Couple of small spelling/grammar/auto-correct errors during when it was ported over from the books, but all in all an amazing app.

Difference between iPhone and Android?
My group uses this for our game, and normally I would give 5 stars but for some reason, my iPhone version does not have all the same features as my friends Android version. For example, the Warlock class info is missing the spell casting table on mine, while it is present for my friends app. Unsure why there is a mismatch. Should the two versions be brought to parity, I will definitely change my rating to 5 stars.

Update?
Needs an update for iPhone! Haven’t had one in over 8 months. My boyfriend has an android and has the option to use spell slots on his Spellbook app, where (as an iPhone user) don’t even have that option or the most recent update. Very frustrating! Please update to match android.
