Library card barcode right in the app = love it! Book barcode scanner so I can quickly see which library has the book = $ money-saver love! Events calendar that’s easier to navigate = love for the entire community!
I had been using this app for years and mostly had great experiences. I enjoyed being able to search the catalog, place holds, monitor checkouts and due dates, and have access to my barcode on my phone. However, within the last month, that all changed. As many others have stated in their reviews, the app no longer connects to the library server, so I can’t search within the app and can’t place holds. My account information regarding checkouts/holds is inaccurate and won’t update. In its current iteration, aside from being able to access my barcode through my phone, the app is useless.
So far I like the app but I wish I was able to access my lists that I’ve created. I had downloaded hoping I’d be easily able to access these and check out easier but appears I’ll have to check back for a later version. My issue with the website is that we can’t seem to stay logged in, which thankfully the app does! It’s handy to see which books are where & see what you currently have checked out. Get the lists on the app and this will be a five star app!
This app is fantastic for putting books on hold and checking whether they’re available in the library. I would love if it could send push notifications when a hold is ready for pickup, but it’s not too big of an issue. Honestly, it’s surpasses all my expectations for a local library’s app.
Not a bad app. Easy to search and add content to hold list. If a book is in the system as ‘being purchased’ it does show up on the app, but you need to go to the actual website in order to place hold. Doesn’t always maintain a connection to a secondary account. Also cuts off phone audio if playing music when opening: why this app needs audio access I don’t know...
I made the mistake of updating the app and now it is impossible to use without shutting it down and restarting it every single time you go to a new page. It doesn’t matter what you are doing…looking at your holds, searching the catalog, etc…you are no longer able to return to the previous page and are forced to restart the app. Then you can go to exactly one page and must restart again.
Loved using this app for looking up books, putting holds on books. Everything you could do inside the library but in the comfort of your home. NOW I can’t even get my library barcode to come up… the app wil not open, it tells me to check my server. There is no problem with my server. Don’t know exactly when this mess happened but I noticed it within the past couple months… Please fix this ASAP….
Nothing works in app. Can’t search for anything, says cannot connect to catalog provider. Pictures don’t load in on main screen or account. Can’t renew anything. It just keeps asking the same thing over and over. When something is returned, it doesn’t come off account. It’s been 8 months since last update. Should be at least every couple months. Home page also states 2022
This app is great for looking at your items checked out, on hold and fines. Also for searching for items. I’ve added my children’s cards as linked accounts several times to manage them from the app as well, and they keep disappearing - very frustrating, but the only big downfall.
To everyone who hasn’t been able to get into the DCL app. In November some sort of break in the app happened but it isn’t DCL’s fault. They can’t try to fix it if they wanted to! The people who made the app and DCL have since left each other (I think) and DCL is trying to get a new app quickly. I am not an employee I just want everyone to see why the app isn’t working They give updates sometimes on there socials (Mostly Facebook) so check there to see if there’s a new app
Used to be good but in the last month or so it couldn’t connect to the library server and my account information was wrong. So I uninstalled and reinstalled and now it won’t even open up as it can’t connect to library server….
We used to use this app all the time and order books. For months now it has not worked. I have deleted and reloaded the app and still no success. It just says that it cannot access a server.
I got a new phone, downloaded the app but when I try to open it, it says it won’t connect to the server. I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling several times. It’s been like this for a couple weeks.
Like many others are saying the app does not work anymore. I deleted the app and redownloaded it and now it errors out saying it can’t connect to the server. I would love for them to fix the app.
Like everyone else is stating this was a great app - now nothing is working. I can no longer get digital content because my account can’t be verified. Please fix it.
What’s going on Dakota County Library? Will check in with the tech team to see why my App has been in failure since 11-10-2023. Then will update my review. Thank you tech support in advance.
iPhone 14 pro max with latest iOS (17.1.2) and app fails with message: ‘error connecting to server, make sure your connected to a network’. i am connected to the internet (wifi & cellular) and checked my connection testing both individually and/or one at a time, via opening up safari and visiting google.com & wikipedia.org with no problems. please fix as the current state of the app does not allow access to account management (view holds, checkouts, etc.) nor access to saved library cards which means saved library cards are not accessible for use in checking out books in person while physically visiting the library.
