I have played HOGs, off and on, for many years now. Usually stopping because no new titles were out there or the ones that were, were too juvenile or just not interesting. Recently I came across Five BN games and decided to give them a try. I started with Lost Lands and completed that series. Next I played through New York Mysteries and now I am playing Darkness and Flames. I will say that Five BN games are the most intriguing, most interesting and most attention holding games ever. They are artistic, creative and have great story lines. I am 71 yo and play your games every day because they are challenging and make me think and remember the story line. Also I love the music and ambient audio and often pause in a world just to listen because it sounds so nice. It would be great if you produced a “Five BN Sound Track”. I hope you all hurry and produce more titles as I will soon have played through all the existing titles. Great work Five BN and thank you for your talents. Now, back to my game.
I'm on the second installment of Lost Lands now. These games have helped me get through a lot of boredom the last few days. They are fun, if a bit frustrating at times because not all of the solutions are necessarily logical conclusions. After a while, you get used to the game logic and it gets easier to know what the game probably wants you to do with the items. But the mini-games can be frustrating regardless, especially when your only option after an error is to restart the whole puzzle. My only real critique is that the "back" button should be a little bit farther out from center, as it covers parts of the mini-games/other stuff that makes it really easy to lose your progress (when playing on a phone), because sometimes the pieces are right behind it/next to it. I know these games probably won't get a big update like that, just keep that in mind if you're gonna play. That said, I gave this game five stars for a reason. It's fun, there is a truly exceptional amount of content for a free game, and the art and story are interesting. D&F packs a lot of world-building into a small game without making you read for hours which was refreshing. The amount of puzzles/mini-games is wild compared to other free puzzle/escape-the-room type games. For a point & click, the Darkness & Flames games are some of the best I've played. I’ve been playing the D&F series for hours every day ever since I found it. It’s a really exceptional amount of free content with 0 unsolicited ads, which is a huge plus for me. The story isn’t great and neither is the voice acting, but that’s not really important for this kind of game. The environments are interesting and varied, there’s also bonus levels that elaborate on the main story when you finish. The only critiques I have are that sometimes the objects you need to find, are blended to well into the environment and can make it challenging to tell what’s background and what’s part of the game. Additionally, the puzzles do get repetitive if you play multiple installments. Not all of the puzzle solutions seem entirely logical, but play enough, and you start to understand the games logic. This is the only free to download app I’ve played in years that has zero unwanted ads. You have the option to earn a free Kent coin by watching an ad, but it’s optional, and not obnoxious, and the ads are only for other games made by the same developer, several of which I intend to try
Love the artwork, love the background music, love the storyline (what little I’ve seen of it so far, anyway), love the quality control (lack of bugs), love the special puzzles, and I’ve loved this sort of puzzle game for decades. The ONLY reason I didn’t rate it five stars is the solution being so dependent on “click all over the screen at random until you hit something that’s active” and “now go back to where you already finished and click all over the place again”. [Update: reduced rating to one star after giving up and looking online for a walkthrough. You have GOT to be KIDDING me. I couldn’t even complete half the story while reading the bloody walkthrough! Without it basically telling me everything to do, I never would have got past the uncle’s house, and even with it you’re stuck with an impossible puzzle in the underwater machine. What good is all that great artwork, great music, and great storyline if it’s essentially IMPOSSIBLE to ever see it without cheating? Sorry, but this is just too hard and too frustrating for someone whose IQ is only 160.]
I like the story premise, and the flame bird is beautiful. It’s the usual defeat the darkness kind of game, but then 99% are. There are morphing objects and collectibles in each scene. Lots of things to do, and you go back to scenes later in the game, which I personally like. I dislike it when you complete one or two scenes at a time and then you’re done; not much adventure in that! Great mini games, not ridiculously hard but not easy either. The hos scenes are interactive and a joy to play. They really add to the “adventure” aspect of the game. I’ve played the next one in this series, and it takes off where this one ends. Wonderful game, and free to play to boot!
I love all games released by this developer! I am less patient than I used to be now in my older age, so I really appreciate the puzzles of these games because they’re relaxing enough for me. Once in a while they have puzzles that require dexterity or speed, but luckily not too often. The graphics of this particular game is superior to all the previous ones, which I appreciate quite a lot as a graphics snob. Lastly, I realllllly appreciate the FTP games. I do my best to pay for games when I can afford it, but being on a tight budget makes me appreciate you guys even more. Great job folks & please keep them coming!!!
I think I have found and played all your games. The stories are interesting; the graphics are wonderful; the animation is interesting pulling the story together; and best of all are the puzzles. The puzzles range from easy to challenging. When I find a clue but cannot pick it up, later I cannot remember which of the 15 or so sites I should go. I use the option to watch an ad to tell me where to go. That is very helpful when I get lost. I cannot wait for your next addition! Darkness and Flame was the first game I played. It has been awhile. The puzzles are still fun.
I’ve been playing hidden mystery adventure games for years. This one is the most challenging yet beautiful one I’ve ever played. The background music is wonderful and soothing, and there’s an actual story to it. I never have to use hints because most of these games are exactly the same, but I’ve been stuck/lost at least 5 times and have had to use a hint, which speaks to the challenge of the game. I can also typically finish a game in a few hours, I’ve been playing this off and on for 3 days. I’ll definitely play another from this developer. Well done.
This has been the best puzzle game I have ever played. The puzzles are challenging, the graphics are detailed and beautiful, the storyline is interesting and the puzzles aren’t just your typical “guess the order of numbers” type. I highly recommend this game to anyone who likes to solve mysteries! I love that you can earn hints for free by watching ads. I bought a bundle of hints that were a great price and they have definitely helped me. I also felt like I was supporting the creators by making a purchase. There was a lot of work put into this game, and it shows. Outstanding!
I played all of the Darkness and Flame episodes and also all of Lost Lands. These are by far the best strategy/hidden object games I’ve played! The graphics are phenomenal, story line interesting and it’s just difficult enough but not so much that you get discouraged. The fact that when you click on something and it gives you information about that area to help figure out what to do is great. I have played a lot of these type of games and none of them compare to these. Please make more episodes soon!!!
Let’s just say now days you’re hardly can find any games that actually do what it’s says. Although this game is legit! I loved it! It have the perfect combination of puzzles, mystery, adventure, and anything you can think of. The graphics are spot on. The creator deserves an award in my opinion. I hope you download it and give it a try. Although I do ask the creator try to make the hints you maybe timed instead of having to pay real money. I love the five free hints in the beginning, but some of us are to slow!😂
Lots of interesting puzzles, and just the right amount of hints. Not too difficult; not too easy. Also, if more hints are desired and one does not have enough coins to purchase them, there is the OPTIONS to watch ads instead of being forced to watch ads or spend money. It’s a win/win for both the player, the game company, and the advertiser. Great solution to an otherwise undesirable situation.
Love the graphics. Got frustrated at times because there were so many areas that could hold the essential part for the next action. But I persevered; the map was very useful for navigation. I got through the puzzle without having to purchase any hints. It would be so nice if you could just carry a knife with you all the time instead of having to find one every time you needed one.
I love adventure games. These games are always fun and good way to waste time. You don’t need an internet connection so that’s a bonus. You also don’t have to spend money which is an even bigger bonus. I have played all these guys games so far and have never been disappointed. Also the graphics are great and the storyline is good. I hope they release more.
My husband and I follow this developer and love their apps. We play side by side on our IPads. It keeps us connected playing games, especially after thirty years of marriage. Gives us something to do as we get older and we talk all the time. Thank you developers, keep up the great work. They also do series that connect for a good story line.

Always free to play, unless you want some extra help, and just the right amount of challenge! I will stick with you guys for the long haul! Really fun game. Put together well. Hints aren’t necessary if you look hard enough. A good memory of each area helps, but you get 5 hints to start and can buy more if you want(again, not necessary to spend money, which makes this game even better). I definitely recommend playing it.
I LOVE this game! It really challenges your problem solving skills and memory! I play another game like this and you have to have energy to play the game. You either wait hours for it to refill or pay for it. This game lets you keep playing no energy needed! I really appreciate that!
Actually really good for a free game. My only complaint is that some things you need to pick up are too small to see, and the area you need to tap is so small you can miss picking it up even if you see something there, leading you to think there isn’t anything there to pick up. The only times I got stuck were when that happened.
I love you all’s mystery games I have played New York Mystery trilogy and now I’m in this one the puzzles are not too hard but not too easy either but it gets the brain going I hope after this game it’s plenty more to come from you guys keep up the good work!!
I absolutely loved this game and couldn’t put it down! Full of great puzzles and lots of back and forth between scenes. It kept my attention and mind awake. Just downloaded four more of these and can’t wait to get started. Thank you for all the fun!

I love these kind of games! This one has a great balance of challenge, but at the same time not being ridiculous. Some games have hints that are so obscure that there is no way to figure them out. Please keep making more!
This is a great point and click puzzle game but I am begging you to change your settings so that I can listen to music/audiobooks while I play the game. The app is always overriding any other audio I have going, so I have to just quietly be in the game and I hate looping audio.

I like the game . Enjoy playing it . But I’m constantly frustrated . A hint will send you to a certain scene , then it’s up to you to figure it out . I’ve used quite a few , when stuck . And they just keep sending me to the same scene .
I have played most Five-BN games, and this is another terrific one. I prefer the pay to play with the full version over these in ap purchases in segments, but the games themselves are stellar and totally worth the $6.

I really love the game but I hate having to go forward for items to finish a level. I like the feeling of completing a level before moving on instead of knowing there are things left undone. Makes me get fed up and stop playing. Soon I will stop altogether.
The puzzles were good, not too hard & not too simple. I enjoyed how they mixed story with objectives. I play a lot of point and click games, highly recommend this one.
the storyline is a little cheesy, but that really doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things. this game is great for puzzle solvers, has no ads, and you don’t have to pay to play! i definitely feel better spending money on hints occasionally, instead of constant microtransactions for additional items etc. i already know i’m going to spend all winter curled up on my phone with this game!
This is the perfect example of a game that has earned my money. You can play and enjoy it for free and that makes me want to spend to support the developer. Absolutely worth it.

This is my first from you and I plan to play them all. While I loved seeing all the beautiful graphics, I want to give a special shout-out for the centipede circling the emblem in the extra chapter. What a great job! I can't stop looking at it. Even though Ive made it this far without hints, I will purchase coins bc the team should be compensated. After completing all 8 Lost Lands I was afraid I’d not find another game like it. I downloaded the NY Mysteries and Darkness and flames. They’re both exactly what I was hoping for. Best bedtime relaxation ever.
